I'm very happy with my progress. I was sleeved 6/22/17. SW 319 CW 213 GW 170. I'm almost to go and just can't believe it happened so fast. People don't even recognize me I've changed so much. Of course I'm thrilled with the compliments. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've had no trouble with the weight loss at all. I could care less about food now. But it's the unspoken things that are rough. So get ready for TMI. in the beginning it was the gas. I was miserable. But once I got more active and learned what to avoid I've learned how to deal with that. Next is the hair loss. I have always had think curly course hair. Now it's super thin on top, falls out in hand fulls, it's limp. I'm trying biotin and the shampoo. So hopefully it will get better with time. Constipation OMG! gotta keep stool softeners on hand. Because what goes hand in hand with constipation hemorrhoids. Yikes!##&/#- lastly neck and back pain. It is not at all like it was 100lbs ago. Just found out via the chiropractor that when you lose a large amount of weight fast your body's equalibiruim gets off You carry yourself differently. So I suggest getting an adjustment. It has been my saving grace. Felt like I had a knot between my shoulders for a month. Lastly the saggy skin. I haven't figured this one out yet. My arms (bat wings) are saggy. My inner thighs and my butt is saggy. So if anybody has the answers to that one I'm all ears. My winter body covered up is great but this spring I will be at goal and plan one heck of a shopping spree. Since I'm averaging 20 lbs,a month ally clothes are pretty ugh second hand. Thank goodness for thrift stores. But once I lose all this I'm hitting the mall with a vengeance. So I'm up for any suggestions. I know this post has been graphic but hey don't just a book by its cover. I'm looking good on the outside but as you can see there are downsides. But I wouldn't change a thing. I feel great have energy and my confidence is back. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using BariatricPal mobile app

Back home. Still feel bloated but had a bowel movement finally which helped. (Tmi?) Stomach feels strange. It is going to be a challenge to realize when your new stomach is full because i have so much going on down there anyway it is hard to decipher what is coming from where. Im sure it will get easier when my tummy calms down a bit. Feeling ok overall but going to be slow going this first week. Slight headache and low energy at the moment. Still super glad i did it and in a few months i will likely not even remember the tougher moments of recovery.

Sorry TMI, but would like to know if anyone has had this issue. During my labs I had to bring in a stool sample. It tested positive for H pylori. Doctors office says it’s a bacteria that is common and that many have it with no symptoms. Have to take antibiotics for 14 days. I have my doctors visit in 3 weeks and then surgery will be scheduled.

Okay TMI and I am so sorry but I got my first period after surgery today and my hormones are WHACK. I mean, they've been off since I've been losing weight but not like this. I literally cried because I didn't like how chicken salad smelled. I cried because I didn't like the flavor of Mio I bought. Has anyone else had a similar experience with hormones? I'm worried I'm gonna cry if I drop my pen at work tomorrow LOL!

Looking for a fellow Boston Sleeve Buddy!
redsoxbroad posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well, it's time! I went through the motions 2 years ago and even saw the specialists I needed to see before the surgery. Without support from the hubs, I chickened out and have regretted it since. Headed back for my initial visit on Thursday and am hoping to find a local buddy to help each other through all the ups and downs and TMI goodies. Let me know if you'd like an accountability partner- 10 replies

Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I'm 22. My starting weight was 320 and I'm currently at 289. My surgery was October 11th so I'm almost two weeks out. Does anyone regret the surgery? I feel like I was maybe too young to get it done - I miss eating meat [emoji24] What were some of the things you drank? I've been drinking water, diluted juices, crystal light. I'm just craving a new flavor im sick of water! What did you eat during your stage 2 phase (soft proteins)? Also TMI but when does the dumping stop!? I had sleeve done and I am too nervous to leave for very long and not be around a bathroom because I'm worried I might have an accident! Thanks in advance!

Hi, Sorry TMI. I’m one week post op revision from band to RNY. I also had my gallbladder removed and Hiatial hernia repair. I had a very rough few days, but have felt much better. Today I can’t stop the diarrhea. I’m following the post op direly. Anyone else have this type of experience? Can I take Imodium AD?

New Surg Date! Well my surgery got moved up due to very high blood pressure and so now it's in LITERALLY 12 days! New surgery date is October 24th, 2017! Now for the hard part; I've been on the Pre-op liquid diet for 2 days now & 1st day-easyyyy peasyyy (prob because of newness of it all & im so hyper about getting this dang surgery already!) then... 2nd day-uhmmm..well not so excited- diarrheaaaaa cityyyy!!! Like massive blowouts & bad! Really prepare peeps- I think I'm prob drinking way more broth than most people so it's looks & smells like broth :/- sorry maybe TMI I know, (but not really when ya'll are going to need to know what can happen!) But hey, we need to get into ketosis to shrink that liver so I'de rather have more fluids than unnecessary protein in. I'm already getting in almost 80 grams of protein & still hungry so broths keep me the fullest. Today is day 3 so we'll see how it goes..!

September Sleevers- How are you feeling??
Brosky replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on 9/21. I'm down @ 10 lbs which I'm happy with. Couple of things that I'm experiencing and I want to see if I'm not alone. 1. Incisions are doing well, still a bit tender, and I had a lot of bruising at each site. 2. I've been in soft food phase and my body is definitely telling me when enough is enough, but I feel I can't even get enough water in either. I still get discomfort and a sharp pain when I take in a little too much water, or liquid of any kind. 3. I also have this ache in my chest, like right below my breast bone. Is that gas...heartburn? My stomach also sometimes gets hard, like when I press down I have abs of steel...lol...far from it...lol. 4. Sorry for the TMI but going to the bathroom has been difficult, really bad constipation, my doctor said it's normal but it was over a week when I went the first time after surgery, then nothing for 5 day. I hope someone can shed some light on this, because I hope there's nothing wrong. Thank you all!!! -
List of Food Items for Post Op
1234567890 replied to jcb123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since you wont be able to lift over 20 lbs I would suggest to prep for next 2 months: - water - popsycles - apple pure (sugar free) - jello (sugar free), you can also buy powder and diy - coconut water - tuna for stage 3 post op - beef / chicken so you can prep your soups.. the ones at super market have bad taste.. Misc: 4 oz plastic containers to measure water and food intake Meds: - baby aspirin - gas x strips to help out with gas - get your chewable muti vitamins and calcium, sublingual B-12 (in my case I used them at week #8) - vitamin C to help produce collagen for skin elasticity. - Biotin to help with hair loss - baby wipes.. first weeks tings do not come out normal (sorry tmi but good to know) -
I usually love premier protein shakes and 6 weeks out still drink about 2 a day. However, every once in a while I go through phases **TMI warning** where the shakes go right through me and I get diarrhea. Bad. When that happens I switch to the paleo powder or vitamin shoppe brand chocolate meal replacement. Less protein but tastes great.

What is off limits after post-op diet
Julie norton replied to Bary's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Outside knows what long term is. I always like her truthful posts. It is so personal what foods work for one. And may not work for another. Time also can change tastes and compatibility. After a decade, I find only a few off limits-never work food for me and my ancient band. Soda.... won't try again.... I think it is addicting and has no nutritional value and doesn't sit well ..I just won't try. Very occasionally I'll let a seltzer water fizz out by shaking and releasing several times to have a sip Pastas... boy my Italian family has a hard time with this one. It just won't work for me or my stomach. Comes right back up. Sorry tmi Steaks. Never worked for me. No problem as I don't care for them Fried rice. A tiny white rice works. But never fried rice or noodles so I'm no fun at Chinese restaurants. ( chicken and snow peas works) Those are the main categories... everyone has to find their own dos and donts Refried beans saved me by working all the time! Good luck to all finding their new list of good foods for their body! ( and a single cocktail now and then is fabulous ....) -
Timeline for Revision process?
OmaJ replied to Star Dust's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had Lapband revision with Gastric bypass on 9/5/17. Decided with my Dr. that it was the best course to take in April. I wanted to wait until after the summer, as our daughter was graduating high school and then college late August. Did 90 day program with Dr. & Nutritionist, then they submitted to insurance after (BCBS Fed.) Did all the tests (labs, CXR, EKG, ECHO per my Cardiologist) on specific timeline. Probably about a month or close to it before I found out that I was approved. We set my surgery date before beginning 90 day program. Was anxious to hear if I was getting approval from insurance, and I really think my calling customer service with them helped expedite the process. I also spoke to the manager at my Dr.s office. Hope this helps & not TMI [emoji4] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app -
May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
Apple1 replied to Newme17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, you sure have had a rough few weeks with the illness. It is weird that you mention leg soreness because I had two days of it last weekend. I thought at first it was just from my running, but I had never experienced that type of all over soreness before. I ended up taking an ibuprofen on Monday night and it went away. I did have a larger BM Monday morning (TMI) and felt instantly back to normal. I sure hope the antibiotics take care of everything for you. Do you still have your gallbladder? That can be an issue sometimes. Feel Better. -
I had my bypass on Monday and barely leaving the hospital now.. too much nausea as all can do is burp and walk. No bowel movement, which is ok, considering I haven’t eaten in 4 days. Going to try milk of Mag, although honestly it’s too hard to even reach and wipe.. sorry TMI but truth.

I'm 10 months post op and I get hungry if I don't eat every few hours. My NUT said it's natural and many people eat 6 small meals a day or 3 meals and 3 small snacks between after bariatric surgery long term instead of 3 large meals. Also I've found that as a female I'm hungrier during my time of the month and TMI but due to my heavy periods my primary care doc said that I might need higher calories during that time.

I hope you feel better very soon! I was sleeved on the 21st also. It is a challenge to get all my liquids in. Also, TMI, I'm having bathroom issues now. No fun.

Need a surgery buddy..Sept 26tg
mustbeaspeciallady replied to traceybishop1977's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do keep us posted with how your doing....I know it may be rough for the first few hours, maybe even the first day but just hang in there. The gas can be a major pain and not being able go have anything to drink for the first 24 hours is outrageous. Don't forget to do your breathing exercises...today is day 6 post op and the pain is practically gone but I decided to drink a breakfast shake, worse decision ever! I'm losing it at every end (tmi) -

after surgery 09/12/17 tuesday
Coffeelark replied to binocjohn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine on 12th too. Walking, even rocking in rocking chair help with gas pain. I use a warm pack on my abdomen and shoulders, it helps gas dissipate. I used a glycerine suppository, it helped me pass some gas. TMI. Rest some, but walk more. Water, water, water...in small sips. -
