  1. Hey girls I am home, safe and sound. Was a great weekend. Rally was a blast, good, safe riding, concerts were great (a Van Zandt ---formerly of Lynrd Skynrd on Friday, and Foghat on Sat) were loud and lotsa fun. We left waaaaaay early this morning, so I could get back to do my part in the stock check in, then they could have done it without me. Many times through this, I work really hard, and am left feeling that way, that what I am doing does not matter, that it would be just the same without me. I don't want the thanks that isn't it, I feel superfluous just being there.....hard to explain. Anyway I am done for the day. There is a second stage NHSFR Queen pageant tonight, I skipped out. All the sun and going, and I am totally and completely exhausted. Am off to bed in a minute. Terry, my Grandma was the same way---she smoked in her hospital bed.....no real cigarette, but she mimed it, EXACTLY like she smoked, and the look of peace as she took the first drag was amazing! And she saw "boys" coming home from the war without their legs, and chastised me all the time for staring! Then she showed me the proper way to mix a cake!!! Another day she was out of bed stomping the snakes----which were actually her IV tubes and the phone cord. I so understand where you are, we told Grandma many times we loved her, but if it was time to go be with Grandpa we would be ok---but she did it on her own time.....typical Grandma. I miss her every single day! Hugs to you! Will try to do personals tomorrow, I am off to bed. Will tell you of Rick's tattoo experiences, and seeing the Dallas Cowboys---and all my new NSV's tomorrow. Worst thing about the rally (barring the sand storm.....) was being without contact with you guys!!! I called the kids, and I almost called one of you just to check that all was ok. I am addicted without a doubt!!! Kat

Suzie - I just noticed in your avatar that you have COLLAR BONES!!! Whoa!!! Major NSV!! Maybe if I'd get out and mow lawns for 6 hours I'd have collar bones, too!
  3. Hiya HH! and one more thing........ I actually splurged on a few clothes yesterday at Dress Barn...... I NEVER buy anything that is not on sale, but yesterday I said screw it and I bought a very pretty sweater type jacket.. it is of course varying threads of purple! It is gorgeous and $59.99 (this is a lot for me to spend on 1 article of clothing) Also a couple layering blouses that WERE on Clearance.. one is white (to go under the jacket and one is a light green (to go with my eyes) The jacket is an XL and the blouses are size L. I think its time for me to go through my closet and cull out the things I don't like (its just hard for me to through out stuff that actually fits!) WEIRD NSV.
  4. Good morning.. I'll be brief... Robby and I stayed at my sisters last night..... and NSV! HUGE NSV! I fit into a pair of her jeans!!!!!!!! NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE have I been able to wear her clothes! I started whooping and hollering for her to grab the camera.. I started singing.. "I'm wearing my sisters JEANS! ohya ohya" she's like.. I CANT EVEN WEAR THOSE!!!!!!! (because of her tight gut syndrome) So then I tried on a pair of my 17 yr old neices jeans and they fit too!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on cloud nine! and right now I'm wearing a complete sister outfit to work (since I didn't have clothes with me) I'm toying with the idea of cutting my hair tonight... (this was the source of a major fight 2 weeks ago) SERIOUSLY he was fit throwing mad at the simple talk of me cutting my hair to my shoulders.. and he has since NOT SHAVED... even starting a new job.. he did not shave! HE LOOKS hideous...... don't get me started.. but I cancelled our January cruise yesterday. He found me at the daycare yesterday and blocked me in begging me to come home last night.. (reminded me of shrek) he layed on the guilt last night and this morning he already called me at work..... but instead of saying he was sorry or that he realized what an ass he has been he continues to try and make me feel guilty..... (he wants me submissive and a crying heap) So my resolve to NOT CRY is still in tact. He is a good man, but he has been acting like a class A ass since March, and I've reached my breaking point.
  5. Kat, congrats on the NSV. How awesome that must have felt. We spend more time out on our deck than in the house. I know the neighbors must hate it that we are out there all the time, but now that we have a fence up they don't have to worry about it anymore. Several years ago Hubby and I were on our way to the Lake when we ran across a little Amish furniture place. We ended up buy a glider that is divided in the middle by a little table. We thought that would work better than sitting side by side. Now I can rock all I want and have my glass of ice tea. Speaking of ice tea, I made my first batch of Sun Tea today. It's delicious. Love the stuff. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
  6. Well it took me about a year but I finally had a NSV or NFV or however it is spelled. I work in a hair salon so I see a lot of people every day. Most know what I had done, and they comment lightly on the subject. Well today Sue who works next to me had a client in who wanted to know who the new girl was! When she told her it was me she couldn't believe it!! Sue works mainly later at night so I don't always see her clients, so obviously I hadn't seen her in a while. It was nice and told her how special that made me feel. I know it sounds really silly, but people have been complimenting me on how much weight I have lost in the past few months, and I really haven't. So I wonder how sincere people are, and then that aggravates me. It is such a head game we play with ourselves, isn't it!! At work today we talked about the lady stuck on the toilet and we were all just howling!!! I know it is very very sad and I shouldn't be laughing, but the scenarios we came up with!?!? Oh well I think TOM is coming for a surprise visit! Jane
  7. Good morning everyone! I slept like a log last night and so did Macy. All that exercise and heat can wear a person out. When we went toobing, I made sure I had on loads of sunblock and it worked well in most places, right? Well, I had these big dandruff looking things in my hair and finally realized my scalp had burnt and was peeling. How attractive, right? Well, dd has a burnt scalp now so I know in a few days she will be shedding like an english sheepdog just like I was! Luckily she has real blonde hair so it will not be too noticeable! Is there a sunblock for hair & scalp? Terri-I think I will start a word journal. I really miss keeping one cause it is very theraputic. I loved that link of where you are going this weekend. Looks like fun! Laura-babies are fun... Especially when you can bring them back to their mom. lol But seriously, I know what you mean about the yearning to have one. Good luck! You will be a great momma! Then you will have an internal clock and wake up early like me Jane-sorry to hear about what you are going through. I wish I were there to give you a big hug! Jennifer...we miss you!! Kat-what a great NSV! I LOVE IT! Tracy-how was the meatloaf? Haydee-how was Galveston? Suzie-If we had a deck I would probably live outside! I need to get my butt in gear. Have a great day everyone! Hi Judy, Pamela and Michelle!! (if I missed someone I am sorry)
  8. Happy May Day. Got up and went to our monthly family breakfast and a cousin serenaded us with a May Day song and she had a May Day basket for her Mom. It was so nice. We had a great time. From there we went to Ace Hardware and I bought my tomato plants. Gonna give it a try this year. Bought a few flowers to get potted. Hubby drove there and I told him I would drive home. Funny thing. I got in and took off and didn't realize that I hadn't moved the chair back. Hubby and I are both the same height but with my extra padding around the middle and back, I always have to move the seat back. Well, no more. It was so cool to realize that. I guess that's my latest NSV. Hope you all have a great day.

You crack me up, Haydee!! Richard wanted to take me out to dinner but we had to cancel due to stuff going on with mom. So I asked for a jewelry tumbler instead...LOL I got tools for Christmas! And i couldn't be happier! Can't wait for my package to come. I'll be your house is looking really good, eh? What all have you done already? I find it hard to believe you dont like cheese!? How do you eat queso and enchiladas and nachos??? What's WRONG with you????????? :confused2: Great NSV!! You'll have to wear a helmet now. KAT - So glad your son is home!!! What a wonderful surprise for you all! Gee, i can't believe you didn't just go plop yourself on their couch for a couple of hours! They would have loved that!
  10. Good afternoon, Violets!! Just got back from an extra shift at the hospital. Next week is nursing week so they have lots of extra things that needed to get done. I'm home now with Ethan and will be here til his daddy picks him up and we leave for our church meeting. Had an NSV at the hospital today. The volunteer at the registration desk where I sign in and out was on the phone when I signed in. When I was leaving she said.. "I couldn't talk to you when you came in, but I want to know what's happened to you. You've lost a lot of weight!" That made my day!! Of course I told her about the lapband. Everyone just gives me a stunned look when I say I've had lapband surgery. I'm so glad to hear you talking about those little guys who are behind in their speech. Ethan is that way. He'll be 2 June 2nd and only says a few words. He's smart, but really delayed in speech. Hopefully mom and dad will get him tested after he turns 2 to see if he needs some speech therapy or if he's fine and is just delayed a bit. Time to go read the foot book to him for the gazillionth time! Left foot, left foot, right foot, right...............and on and on and on and on..............
  11. Good evening, Violets. Just in from the hot tub and doing my toning exercises in there. It's 24 degrees out so it was a beautiful night to be in a hot tub under the stars. Watched American Idol and I think the right person went home. Suzie.. David is still doing great!! And my doctor is very compassionate. When we hit a plateau he just says .. do you think you need a fill? Then he says not to worry, it will come off. Just keep at it. It takes time. And I always know exactly why I stay the same or gain. It's all in my hands now. While the initial weight came off quick, it's taking forever now, but I feel so good about how far I have come. I went to a clothing store here in Alpena that I had never been to in the 24 years we have lived here. The clothing is expensive and the sizes run small. I got a couple of sweaters in size L for next winter and a Pendleton big shirt for 60% off. Such a deal and the lady who owns the shop is a member of our Alpena church. She couldn't stop gushing about how good the Bobster and I looked. Never once did she ask us how we did it.. just kept saying how amazing it was. Same thing happened at the library last Sunday. I had not seen the librarian in awhile and she was just floored. First words out of her mouth were.. "Hi... oh my gosh Judy, you've lost a lot of weight!". Those are the things that keep me going. The little NSV's that come when you're least expecting them make it all worthwhile. I just wish my parents had lived to see me finally succeed at this weight loss challenge. Ethan comes again in the morning, so I better head to bed. Hopefully I won't get konked on the head again!! Everyone have a good night. Sleep well.
  12. NSV or a trick, when we were at the Alamo, I wanted a girl's t-shirt.. and I saw they had 2x, which is good for me. My Las Vegas girl's style shirt is a 2x (from LOVE), and it fits just right.. so I get home, put on the Alamo shirt and it's like a friggin tent on me. Either 2x girls style t-shirt is too big for me now, or they just make them BIG in texas hah. And anyone know what kind of art this thing is I bought at the street festival thing? The tin roof thing.. I have been googling and googling, and no info on them. Another stall had running horses on it I wanted to get for my mom, but didn't want to be carrying 2 around.. I figured I could find them online, but no?!
  13. How frightening! Isn't the husband a suspect in the Cooper case too? Hey, I see your 'pack won yesterday!! I'm a Tarheel fan (don't throw anything) now, but was a 'pack fan when I was a kid. Have had family at both schools. At least we're not Dookies, right? Glad to hear he's home! Labs will eats ANYTHING handfed, I'm convinced, just to please their people. Such a good boy!! Bwhahahahahahaha!!! Love it! I love the new glasses!! So very cute!! Congrats on your NSVs! Nothing makes me happier that a good deal~ you hit the motherload!! Congrats on your NSVs! It's the little things that make it all worthwhile! I would be all over that!! That is a dream of mine! Somebody on this thread alreay does that, but they haven't posted in awhile. Help me remember who it is folks! Back to my scraping and then mowing the yard. More later.
  14. Dee~ You are so sweet! I was only kidding about having a place to stay. =) My husbands Aunt and Uncle live in Aurora. She just recently had half her lung removed due to cancer... so I may just do the hotel thing so I don't impose. I also had to add.... I went out with my family to ride Quads the other day. It was a BLAST. I think 60 pounds ago it would sucked. I was all over zooming and zooming! Even rode double with the hubby which would have never happened before. Oh... and another NSV... I bought a size 24 bathing suit that I was hoping I could wear by the end of summer. Well it FITS! Granted a scootch too tight, but I can wear it and I do! lol. From a tight 32 to a 26... tight 24. This rocks!
  15. NSV - my underwear are getting too big.
  16. Hey! I'll meet you! What time would be best and what date? I'd love to meet you! WE could have soup or just drinks! I am a big time Huskers' Fan! I went to UNL and graduated in 1985! I was there during the big Osborne era!!! GO Huskers!! Yup, that is how I feel when I have eaten too much! It's not a good feeling!!! I am a Water Bottle addict! I love all kinds of water bottles! I love your glasses! I just got a new pair also! I was going for that, "Hot for Teacher" look!!! I think you're right about not getting a fill. I'm in the same spot. AND it scares me to mess up a good thing. Even a tiny fill can ruin a your green zone and having an unfill can really mess things up! Sometimes it takes longer to get to the green zone after having an unfill. Tom and I discuss this everytime I go in. I made my next appt. for 6 weeks instead of 4. Congrats on all of those NSV's!! That is so scary! AND so close to your home! I hate when that happens. Even tho you know it's an isolated case and most likely not a random crime, it still is unnerving! I'm so happy to hear about Tucker-Baby! That's great news! There is an Atlanta Bread Company not far from Dr. K's office, we could get some soup OR we could hit those places off of Pena and Tower area if you want -- that would be closer to the airport and closer to Brandy-girl. I confess, I love Popcorn! The AMC theater near my home has this great little package deal. 8oz of popcorn (smaller than the kids size) an 8oz drink and candy. Or any combo! I usually get the popcorn and two water bottles. I know it's bad! BUT I really don't care! I sacrifice all of the time, if I want a tiny popcorn when I go to the movies, I think that's okay. Okay Guys, as some of you know I served a year in Haiti as a student missionary. I loved it there! More than anything, I absolutely loved the people! They are really struggling with the recent hurricanes. Please take a moment and say a prayer for the people of Haiti and all the others who have suffered from the bad weather. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Their lives are hard enough and a disaster like this is devastating.
  17. Deb ~ I am sending healing thoughts to your sweet Tucker. Dee ~ Congrats on those NSVs, girlie! You are so inspirational to me. Lap ~ I am definitely thinking of those states in the path of Gustav; we already have some evacuees here in Georgia. And now we have to worry about Hanna... Michelle ~ I know all have missed you around here, I hope you hang in there and find your happy medium. :frown: Happy long weekend to those of us fortunate enough to be off tomorrow. I never associated fireworks with Labor Day but apparently some of my neighbors do...good thing I plan to be up for awhile. :wink2:
  18. Denver - I guess I'll have to be ok with Sarah being in Washington...better there than here! Haha! You have much more talent than I could ever muster! Newbies - congrats on getting information, getting in touch, getting a date! I can say the only thing I regret is that I waited so long to get it done! It took me SIX YEARS to make the decision! To note: when you post a New Reply (not a quick reply - the New Reply button is on the left after all the posts) then right under your message that you type you can opt for daily emails...this is what I do so I'm not logging on all day (and, besides, internet is SLOOOWWW up here in the north). It's an easy way to keep up with everyone and to see that people are keeping up with you. Winter is coming, winter is coming! NSV for me...BIG one. YEARS ago my DH got me a cool leather jacket. It's one of those "fitted" ones with one button. Well, I never could wear it comfortably with it buttoned (boobs too big, too tight, etc.) But I decided to throw it on yesterday and, WHAM, it fits perfect! Actually, there's plenty of room to spare so maybe it's time for a new one?!?! :-)
  19. Hey Folks! I had two great NSV's this week! In 2005, I had my achilles rupture and since that time, I haven't been able to stand on my tippy toes! I didn't have surgery to correct this, I wore a brace. Anyway, yesterday at Whole Foods, I was trying to reach the Brown Rice pasta and I just stood on my tippie toes and got it! Then it hit me! I had stood on my toes! I got tears in my eyes and just stood there for a moment of silence! Then today, I went swimming at Lifetime and I was able to get into the pool by way of the ladder! That's amazing! I usually have to take the steps! The ladder! Me!! The simple things in life that others have taken for granted! I am blessed to have achieved! I'm thrilled!
  20. ((hugs)) girly... I feel you on the not being a good bandster and having a hard time affording the fills. I am right there with you. Don't hide though! We all have ups and downs and are here to help pull each other up when we stumble. If you don't let us know, we can help. :w00t: :tt2: Hang in there... you will find your momentum. LAP~ You are looking like a hot tamale my friend. Loved the slide show. Keep up the amazing work! NSV for me today. I am wearing size 26's comfortably now. My 32's & 30's have been forbidden  by my co-workers... along with some of my 28's. I have pigpen butt in those according to them. :crying: I am pretty happy. Everything in my closet pretty much fits again. I dread having to get new clothes because we are tight on money... but I also look forward to buying pretty things. Ahhh such troubles. lol. Don't know if I mentioned my hubby got a new job. So proud of my man. He is working as a mechanic now. He actually gets his ASE Cert in January... but he got hired on to work under a master mechanic to learn as he goes until then.
  21. Woofay- You rock woman!! Congrats on the NSV! And just FYI, I don't think their stuff runs that big, so take the compliment! :biggrin1: I just bought my first pair of jeans in 10 years from AE Outfitters ...they won't fit me yet but I'm going to hang them right on my closet door to remind me that I need to get my butt in gear when I get my cast off next week! Motivation clothing!!!! They are super cute wide leg jeans. I can't wait to get my cast off so I can work out instead of sitting on the computer and shopping!! Hee hee! Oh, and by the way...across the river is only about 10 to 15 minutes away, so I really don't have any excuse for not going to a gym in Iowa other than the bridge rush hour traffic (which I could easily avoid). I'm really just a slacker! Dee- They still have the picture of my little puppy on the humane society website...I'm going to take my chances and drive over there tomorrow on the off chance that the guy that answered the phone didn't know what he was talking about. They have another Jack Russel also, but he's not as cute... My husband doesn't know about this yet so I may be headed for divorce (which might be ok at this point as I am not too happy with him lately...) Wish me luck with my puppy endeavor!!
  22. So I had an NSV today too. I put on a pair of pants that I have been avoiding because before surgery they were super tight. Well, I put them on and they are comfortable now! YAY! CONGRATZ BRANDY!!!
  23. Welcome Sidann! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! Do you live here in Colorado? Join us at Red Robins each month for some extra support, if you do. You'll be thrilled with Dr. K and his staff! This surgery has been the best thing for me! Each new day brings me a new NSV! I love it!:rolleyes2: dee~
  24. Holy Smokes, I couldn't find where to type last night, and thought the same thing this morning. I've been so bad on personals, I am sorry for that guys. I always pop in from work, read quick and then forget what to write. Denise~Love the houses. The one backyard looks like a nice place for the grandbabies to come over and go swimming. Tracy~Enjoy your romantic weekend! 5 years is a long time....congrats! Kat~I loved the story about your son...how wonderful for your entire family...enjoy his visit. And as far as falling apart...I hear ya. Hey, fall apart next week:wink: Haydee~I agree w/ Terry...they make helmets in so many colors these days. LOL, what a great NSV. Janie~Feel better soon. i can't remember anything else...although I know there is plenty I am missing. Today is parent/teacher conferences. And so is tomorrow...until 7pm. Susanne will be here, but we will not have major plans. We decided no gifts, just cards. Since we just had our anniversary last week. I bought her a pair of Oakley sunglasses and she bought me a beautiful leather bag! We don't need to spend anymore money. Thats all from this corner of the world. Was planning on working out today, but knees still hurt and a friend of my mine had gastric bypass yesterday so I'll take her flowers instead! She will be at hospital until tomorrow! Have a great day! xoxoxoxooxoxox
  25. Snuck over at lunch and had my brows waxed! Also weird NSV? I've had to start wearing two bra's.... my back is killing me by the end of the day so I started wearing two underwire bra's at a time and it seems to help, but WHY.. do you think since I'm losing weight and my boobs are getting LONGER that they are pulling on my back more? This pain is one of the things I want to talk to the PS about tomorrow. I am having a consult but I am not hold out much hope that I can get insurance to pay, since I don't have any rashes. SERIOUSLY considering the bottle of dawn sitting near the sink though..... :girl_hug:
