Self Pay And Credit Card Question...

Surely there are too many variables involved for us to answer? It would depend on your credit cards and banks, as well as how the surgery processes the payments. You might get a more definitive answer by speaking with your bank/s and surgery. Good luck. PS Why not plan to use the miles/rewards points as a celebration for a post-surgery NSV? Something to work towards and look forward to.

    Nsv

Today when I returned to the office from being out of town, a co-worker stopped and said "wow. You look narrower from under your arms to your waist." For what that's worth?!? A bit of a 'different' compliment but I'll take it!
  7. I don't have surgery until next week, but I've been doing Water aerobics in preparation. Between the pre-pre-op diet, pre-op diet, and knowing that I'll be able to keep it off this time, I shrunk out of my bathing suit bottom! I finished the routine with one hand around my waistband. Not giving up yet.

    My 1St Nsv!

I work at a semiconductor plant in a cleanroom. We have to wear these white jumpsuits and hoods to keep particles (i.e. dust) down. I've worn a size 3X jumpsuit for 10 or 11 years. But yesterday I tried on a 2X and IT FIT!!! I asked my friend if it looked too tight and she said it looked almost too big! I'm so excited.... It makes all this hard work seem like there was nothing to it and I can keep going and fit into even smaller jumpsuits.

    Reality Check

Banded on 4/23, my weight loss has been slow. I've lost 41 lbs which I'm totally satisfied with, but bc it has been a slow process I guess I haven't really noticed the changes in my body....until last night. We took the kids to the park & I was preoccupied with my little one, not realizing my oldest was photographing us. I got home & a friend of mine who I haven't seen in awhile text saying how great I looked in a picture my daughter posted on Instagram. So I logged in to check out this picture & was shocked to see myself. I then realized I had a similar picture of myself pre surgery at the same park. I compared the 2 & was in complete shock! What a wonderful NSV!!!
  10. I stalled on this last week but I'm one month post-op today, and 30 pounds down, including the 2 week pre-op diet. Here are pics taken the night before the pre-op diet and some taken today. The night before my 2 week pre-op diet @282 Today, 1 month post-op @ 251 NSV: I left work before surgery wearing 3X scrub set, returned after 3 weeks wearing a 2X set with room.
  11. I have been told this a couple of times lately. If you think about it then it's quite a strange thing for a person to say. I mean if I looked like a needed a band then that would mean that I was still overweight and therefore the band would not have worked. The fact that I don't look like I need/ed a band means that the band has done it's job!

    Nsv- Ring Sizes!

I need to have this done! Today I was talking and of course using my hands to express a point and my ring went flying across the room! Love this NSV!

    Nsv- Ring Sizes!

Yup, me too. I waited until I got to goal as I had a titanium ring and those can't be re-sized and didn't want to have to buy a new ring and then have it re-sized once I got to goal. I bought a new wedding band, which made me sad because it is not the ring from our wedding, but on the other hand, it is nice to not have sausage fingers, sooo ... Congrats. It is a nice, unexpected NSV
  14. had an amazing Non Scale Victory today- I have been wearing my grandmothers engagement ring on my right ring finger and my Tiffany's ring on my left middle finger.. well they have been getting looser and looser so today I finally decided it was time to resize them.. My gramma's ring went from an 8 to a 6 for my ring finger and my Tiffany went from a 9 to a 7.25! holy cow im losing inches from all over the place!!!!!
  15. Hey! Words of wisdom again Meg! Loves it! I particularly relate to the 'choice' mantra - I practise this most days - mostly my choices are good and when they are not, I don't stress anymore! I suppose that is an NSV of sorts. It certainly helps with the mental side of weight loss and struggling to get to goal. I have been home from my holidays for ages now... over a month. Lost the holiday weight, and now bouncing around from 163-164-165 ... I still weigh most mornings - got to to make sure that I don't go over the bounce range and I think partly to torment myself...lol! Would love to see the scale lower, but, well we'll see how the ole body reacts. Next mth the stall will be a year old... thinking of starting a new thread...lol! I am really convinced that my stall is hormone related... although I am still taking my tablets to stop the hot flushes, they are back! Not like before but they are getting worse - I am trying to get an appointment to discuss this with my doc, perhaps I need to change my tablets now?

    Baggy Spanks

    Awesome NSV!
  17. Hello everyone. I am back. My apologies to everyone for being away, but I could tell I was near burn-out and really did not want to get to a point that I went BO all the way, so I stepped back. In hindsight I should have said something but I did not expect to be gone so long. I am doing OK. I am in reluctant maintenance, lol. I have picked up my sword fighting in earnest and building up my muscle mass, and since my weight loss had slowed to a crawl I decided to up the calories via Protein and veggies and give my body some time to adjust, and heal from a couple of new sports injuries (sports injuries, ha-ha!). However, as September draws to a close and I hover in the size 14 area, I do wonder if I have enough in me to get to a size 10. I think realistically that is about as far as I want to push myself. I do not want to go any further down than I will be able to maintain, and I think I can maintain it – if I can lose it. This begins what will probably be a very slow process, since I cannot compromise on the food front. I.MUST.HAVE.MY.PROTIEN. LOL!!! Things have been eventful, and for me Fall represents the end of the year, so I will be dealing with my Mom’s death through that, and again for the Holidays which I hate to admit but I would pass right through them if I could – but they are my Hubby’s favorite time of the year. I will not do that to him. Previous NSV I missed posting (I think)::: I FLEW!!! Google acro-yoga, you will see what I mean. I am preparing for the 5k Zombie run in December, and for my birthday, I will be celebrating by taking the Victoria’s Secret card I get each year (and usually give away) and go buy a “Pink” Sweatshirt for the winter. I hope to be on here regularly, even if not daily, and look forward to getting to know our new members and touch base with old friends.
  18. I spent yesterday rearranging my sewing space and I finally decided that I can sew some clothes for me again. I pulled my sewing dummy out of the closet and realized I haven't changed her measurements to match mine in quite some time. Imagine my disappointment that my sewing dummy is now BIGGER than me, even at her smallest settings.

    Where are the 50s ???

Checking in with the Fabulous 50's...I'm really happy today. I hit the 70 pound loss mark. 40 pounds to go. Surgery was May 3. I had to go out and buy new clothes this weekend because I have a couple of week long business trips coming up in colder climates and there is nothing in my closet that fit! My most recent NSV is that I can now fit in Chico's clothing! And not even their largest size! The sales associate had to keep bringing me smaller sizes. It felt awesome. And, bonus, This was the Outlet store that had tons of sales!!!

Down 2 Pants Sizes And So Excited!

Btw, I am usually good w/ acronyms but what is "NSV"... I have seen people say "DH" too and not sure what that means? Usually, they are referring to a person with DH. Help!

    So Frustrating!

This just sounds like a stall to me. You had surgery about a week after me and are down five or more pounds than I am - so I think we're both pretty much right on target on weight loss. I got stuck in a three week long stall towards the beginning. It was horrible, but it broke eventually. If you're doing all the right things the scale will eventually start to show it again. You're doing great, try and focus on all the NSVs you must be having =)
