Carol... CONGRATULATIONS!!! I knew you could run farther! 34 min is great! Sorry about your friend, but again, great NSV to use running as the way to deal with an issue! MacMadam... you are so dedicated. Plus a full Olympic length Tri... that's a great goal! Suzanne... I have the same problem. I can run without any knee problems, but riding a bike or climbing stairs kills me. I have arthritis in both knees, but my right is the worst. I literallly have to climb stairs with the left leading each step. Going down in bad too... I lead with the right then. When I'm running outside and I hit stairs, my momentum sometimes makes the stairs do-able, but not always. I haven't been on a bike in years, so don't know how I'd do. But an exercise bike is out of the question, so I assume that a bike is too. My guess is the strain on my ligaments and joints in the circular motion is too much with the arthritic damage done to my knees. Ok, day 4 of my strength/cardio schedule, and all is well. I almost blew off the lower body workout last night, but pushed myself to do it. Glad I did. On Tuesday I went out for a run... the plan was to go for just a short run, but I got into it so much that I did almost 6k. It felt great! I also broke my race record time for the 5k portion. When I got home, I had such a runner's high going all night! Oh Yeah!!!

Janine, NSV is a Non-Scale Victory... Small or big steps in our journeys that can't be measured on a scale! Margaret

Hi everyone...I haven't posted in awhile but thought I would post this NSV. My wedding ring hasn't fit in awhile and I miss wearing it so I took it to have it sized. I have always had sausage fingers so I was happy when the clerk told me the size 7 sizer fit.....I used to be a 9.5! The sizer that fit looked so small. Even more exciting was while I was waiting for the clerk to do the paperwork on my wedding ring, I was looking at another ring and she asked if I wanted to look at it. She then took it out of the case and told me to try it on. Well...every ring I have ever gotten had to be sized so I was doubtful but the ring slid right on!! I almost died! Never have I been able to wear a ring out of the case. It was beautiful, but even more beautiful was that I now realize that I am shrinking all over...even when the scale is a little slow to move.

I still can't get my pictures to post, but my avatar picture is from two nights ago when we went out for our anniversary. NSV- My husband said we were walking to the table at Texas Roadhouse and we walked by a table and he saw some guy look me up and down. He said it was the wierdest feeling. He's not use to that, neither am I. He said it was a guy a little older than us (not some old gross dude). I was flattered!

Great NSV there! It's so mortifying. Sometimes I will tuck both ends under my top and pretend it's latched! *shakes head* The last time I flew, I called the steward over and motioned him close to me and whispered, "Could you discreetly bring me a seat belt extension?" He was so sweet, he nodded and came back with it hidden under a note pad. Mortifying nonetheless though. A couple of weeks ago, we went to our favorite Mexican food restaurant. We always sit at one of the tables, but I'm always envious of those sitting in the cute booths in the window. When we walked in I paused by the only empty booth but decided it was probably a no go. I have a large stomach AND butt, so it may be a while before I fit there. I can wait though. And once I fit in it, I'll never have to think about it again.

NSV - NSV - Major NSV........ Lastnight, my DH was watching TV. I was in the other room cleaing out my closet, because that morning I was have a real hard time finding something to wear to work. I have been inbetween sizes and some thing too big and some things just a little bit tight. I was trying on clothes, and walking the the living room and asking what did he think. The first few time he said "That looks nice" the next few times "Wow, you look great" well this went on for awile, I then I came in the room with this SIZE 12 sun dress, (it was cut down kinda low in the front), he said "Honey, you look fine........................." No more TV watching for him or trying on clothes for me..... LOL. I just love my band (and my DH) Laura

Looks like there have been a lot of NSV's lately! I am jealous. Not only have I not had a scale victory in two weeks, thats right not one pound, but I also havent had any NSV's. I am ready for things to get moving again this sucks! I go in today to TRY to get another fill. Their flouro machine was down last week so I hope they have it working now.
-
I forgot to share my NSV's! First, I had to take a flight last week, which I hated in the past because I had to use these embarrassing seat belt extenders. Well guess what? This time I didn't need an extender AND I had extra room in the belt. You would have thought I won the lottery to see the look on my face! And my second non-scale victory is that I've realized I'm only 8 pounds away from my license being correct! That's a big deal for those of us who consistenly lie about how much they weigh on their driver's license... MaryumC
-
I had an NSV- My drivers license is expiring soon and I needed to go take the vision test and take a new pic- anyway.... my weight is finally accurate! After 14 or so years of hopeing nobody questioned it, it finally has the correct weight. Yeeeaaah for me!

I AM HERE !!!! It has been slow, but life gets busy for all of us at different times! insub GREAT NSV!! I know it must have been a comfort to sit in the plane this time. Just think, this is the beginning! Now you are going to make it even smaller next time! dawng I never heard about the insurance making you wait. I would ask they give you a big fill! If you have a 5cc band, I would ask for 3cc and if you have a 10cc band, 5-6cc. Or like Stef said if you have to wait long, a 1 or 2cc will be nothing! I am sorry you are struggling. I had to wait due to the NP schedule 7 weeks, which was frustrating to me, so I know you are dealing with a lot of stress over it. Hang in there. You are almost there. suzzzie I plan to make your meatballs tonight for dinner. I will let you know how it goes!

Ah Chris I was thinking about you today. I KNEW you would fit on everything and I think we should all go there sometime for NSV day!!

I don't get the squirrel picture posted by Stef. ("You are awesome if you get this picture"). BUT, I just LOVED the one (for Insub's NSV, I think) with Ricky Gervais that said "You are awesome!" He TOTALLY cracks me up! ~Toni

Well I ate 3 tacos last night for supper, and I was able to eat a whole breakfast burrito from McD's this morning, so I think I'll go for that 3rd fill next week, what'd'ya think?? I've heard if you can eat breakfast that you are not tight enough. I had a NSV?? Is that what ya'll call it? I put on a T-shirt this morning and I didn't even have to stretch the Hell out of it like I usually do! It just hung nicely, not snug, whoo hoo!

Awesome NSV tonight.... Went to a Detroit Tigers game. I was walking ahead of our pack, or with the pack, and did not struggle in the least to keep up. Zipped up and down the stairs. Walked up steps in parking deck without feeling like I couldn't breathe. Wearing jeans that are now too big that I hadn't worn since 2008 - friends noticing how loose they were. And of course, sitting in stadium seat comfortably. Awesome night!

I had two NSVs to share. First one is I was in the drive-thru at the bank dropped my slip on passengers side floorboard and I could actually lean over and pick it up!!! Previously I would not be able to reach it cuz my belly couldn't get past the steering wheel! Secondly I was clipping my toenails and realized I wasn't out of breath and red faced and could actually reach them all pretty effortlessly! And for me that's no small feet! (Pun intended ). :-).

Love this post! My new NSV's are: We went to the State Fair and walked for 7 hours and I didn't complain or constanting have to sit done- I am stoked! - The 2 pair of really tight jeans that I was saving to fit into are now too big for me!

My first two NSVs this week! :w00t: 1) weighed in today at 247.2, which at 5'6, gives me a BMI of 39.9! I know that's still obese but it made me feel SOOO good. That means I've lost 5 BMI points since July! Thought it was pretty stinkin' cool! 2) I've been wearing the same one pair of size 24 stretch jeans since June....this week I tried on a pair of my old size 22s (which DON'T stretch), not expecting them to fit, but guess what? THEY FIT!!! :lol0: I am so excited. I'm only 3 1/2 weeks out and already I can see and feel my sleeve working for me. I've been working out (and actually liking it, SHH don't tell anyone! :crying:) and while I don't have the pickup in energy yet, I know that I'm on the right track to achieving my goals. Thank you all so much for your constant encouragement & advice.

My best NSV so far is my SIL telling me I looked good. In a text but none the less... We have always had a little battle with our weights. When she was skinny I was fat, vice versa. She is not a her thinest but a nice size. I just wish we could get back to the best friends we used to be. But her sending me the text really brightened my day yesterday!

Another NSV for me today! My "new" old bathing suit was falling off me last night at the pool, so I had to get one that wouldn't be x-rated for tonight's swim time. Went into the shop and the salesgirl (who happens to be a cousin) kept saying that the ones I was looking at were too big. To humor her, I picked up the size I thought I wanted and the size she thought would fit. She was right! I'm now, officially, in a 16, not a 16w, etc, but an honest to goodness 16! I am so excited. I was 23 the last time I could wear this size!!!

I had no pain what so ever. I had a NSV today. I went to Target. We don't have a Target where I live. They had some cute skirts. I have never wanted to wear dresses and skirts before I lost all my weight. I picked out a large and tried it on. It was too big. I looked and all they had were larges and extra large. That is a first. Usually, I tried things on, and I needed a bigger size and all the big sizes were gone. I didn't even think to look for a medium when I looked on the rack! The new image thing is weird. I was practicing my dancing with a friend. she brought out a full length mirror so we could watch our feet. I looked in the mirror and I could not believe that was me dancing. I did not recognize myself! I don't have a full length mirror at home.

New NSV's at 7.5 months: Halloween - I led the pack instead if the rear. I had those kids charged up and we forged ahead. I was always the mom at the back wishing we would skip a street and go home. This year, I was the mom who could have kept going. Scrub shopping - preop I weighed 325 and was wearing 4X pants because even though 3X fit, they were snug. So 4x was big but it's what I wore. I rarely wear scrubs to work and had a pair of 2X from a long time ago that I could wear if needed. But I wanted some for the busy winter months. I went to the scrub shop and asked for 2X. I was about to check out And the owner said "I think you should try these on, they might be too big". I secretly thought he REALLY meant he was afraid they were too small because my head can't trust others good opinion of me. So I tried on a XL. Fit. Maybe even a little too big. I almost fell over. He said "I didn't think those would fit you". My brain has a hard time figuring out clothing sizes now. It's a strange thing. Painting - shimming up the ladder to paint my house. No way I'd climb a ladder at 325. I don't love heights but I can do it now. Den has a fresh coat of much needed paint. Hallway and foyer are next. Life is good!

I don't know if this qualifies as an NSV but, I've been frustrated with the scale for 2 months now, it hasn't budged. But in the past week several people, including my TRX trainer, have commented that I look like I'm losing weight, and a pair of pants that are usually snug on me felt loose. The scale still hasn't budged but maybe the TRX is starting to pay off with a change in body structure, as I've been doing it steadily now for about a month and a half, also I started running in the past 3 weeks. They always say that when your scale is giving you problems to look to your measurements instead for possible changes. yay!

Couple of NSVs today. I went to my PCP, who I haven't seen since April of this year, so before surgery. His nurses actually both commented on how much better I look now, but the nurse who took me into the exam room actually asked for my ID before she would believe it was me. She said my size has changed so much, but my demeanor (happy and smiling) was not what she remembered. The last time I was there, I was so sick I could barely walk or talk. Second NSV, my best friends daughter came into town for a few days. I met them for dinner tonight and the daughter jumped up as I came walking to the table and told me that I look FANTASTIC! She couldn't stop telling me how great I look for quite a while!!! I just enjoyed and basked in the glory. If that's not motivation to keep working my sleeve, NOTHING will be!
