    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Erica...I would feel betrayed too. No one in management is supposed to reveal that kind of information about you to anyone. However, I agree with Nicki...I wouldn't make a big fuss about it as it will just blow up. Work it girl...and then be a model (a super model!) of why you did it. Meredith...great NSV!!! I think I'm really close to a 16...or a 16W anyway. All my skirts and pants are too big. I don't know what I'm going to do! LOL. Nicki...doing okay. Still haven't moved but I haven't gone up either. I'm doing more liquids and mushies than anything else. Today is a rest day from exercise...though I might decide to get out on my bike this evening. I just did not feel like getting out of bed for that 2 mile walk this morning. LOL. Plus...I think I'm somewhat constipated (I know...TMI)...so I feel like when things "get moving" there, I'll see a change in the scale. Just trying to keep drinking water and not get dehydrated...its so HOT and HUMID in Nashville! ugh! I'm not doing great with logging my food. I MUST get back into that habit. In fact...I'm going to do that now. Have a great day everyone!

    Daily News!

good morning junies.. Strike.. woo hoo on your nsv. You rock sister friend! Long.. good luck with your knee today! Congrats on getting out of your plateau! I go and weigh in on Friday and I am hoping all this hard work at the gym is going to pay off! The award dinner went great and we met alot of really nice people. We didnt' get home until 10 ugh and I am usually in bed by 9! My boss asked if I would if he needed me to train a girl to take my place since I won't go part time. I told him I would (i know Im a sucker) but told him to remember the last 4 girls we had do this job in the past 5 years and how messed up it was! I started in inside sales and there was 12 people working here. In 5 years we are down to 5 people and I do the job of inside sales, purchasing, a/r, a/p, office manager and a smidge of outside sales. He has no idea how this office is run or even how to do any of it! Sure I will train a girl for a week or two and see what happens! LOL.. I am sure I will be back working in no time. I have just put all this stress in God's hands. I just gave it up to him and realized he has only ever opened doors for me not closed them. Every time something bad has happened I have been soo devastated only to have something better happen because of it. So I am holding on for the ride! Have a great day Junies!

    Banders #7

No body knows the struggle loosing and gaining better than me. I remember losing 105 lbs back in 2009 in two years to get down to 180. The weight seem to come off so easy, BUT then I stop and in 4 short years I was back to 250 lbs. I had to take a strong look at my life and I felt like such a failure even at 250 it was still 80 lbs less then my highest weight. In January 2013 I rededicated myself and for the last 3 years and even though I am not terrific at following bandster rules I just seem to make more good choices then bad ones and I have gotten back down to 180. So I do know how frustrating you must feel and how ashamed it can be. Even if it is possible to gain weight it just as possible lose the weight again. I know what you mean about not leaving the board this is truly my support system. during those 4 years of gaining I rarely came back to the board. I do miss many of the bandsters that started with me back in September 2007 So when I am going through that 3 month stall I seem to concentrate on NSV just like I mention in my earlier post.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Oh yeah... I had to share this amazing NSV... As you know I've just started my new job. No one there knows me from before... so who they see today is the new, smaller me. I can already tell there is no overweight predjudice happening. They don't see me as overweight at all. I'm basically normal. It was surreal. Its like I have no baggage from the old me. Really a great feeling!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

My EVLT went well this moring. Not much pain, but I do expect to bruise some. To my suprise, the doctor said that I could go ahead and run if I felt up to it. So I think I'll work on Week 4 Day 1 tomorrow. By the way, I have a pair of thigh high support hose. At least I don't have to pull the panty hose up on both legs and the stomach. I do not think I could even breath with that on my stomach. Bonnie - I ordered a pair of extended calf boots last winter, but I could not wear them because my legs were to big. I decided to go ahead and keep them since I was losing weight. The other day I was in my closet and happen to spot them. I tried them on and they were actually to big in the calfs (NSV) You never know, you might be able to wear tall boots this coming winter.

I had a feeling you would be running again tonight, lol! Great NSV Sugarbean! It's amazing how much can in such a short amount of time. Good job!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

NSV is non scale victory. PB is when food won't go down so it comes up. It stands for productive burp. Sometimes it's just a burp and food comes with it. I have had regular old throwing up when I was too tight. Luckily, I don't have that problem anymore.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

NSV - went shopping last night for some cool weather clothes..Heading up NORTH, Rochester, NY for the weekend.. I amazed myself. I was able to buy a size "M" for my sweat pants... I can't remember the last time I could say that.. and a size "L" for my tops.. I have lots of trouble with my midsection and getting things to fit..too much excess skin. but thiis shopping trip was a big ego lift for me!!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi, gang. I read posts, but don't post much myself. But I wanted to share a NSV! My hubby and I just returned from a week long vacation to Colorado. We flew and I was anxious to see if I could fit in the seat and seat belt. Some of you may have experienced the embarrassment of the seat belt not fastening and having to summon the flight attendant and ask for an extender. I hated to fly for that reason, plus I would always have to lift the arm rest so that I could spread out into the seat of the passenger next to me. Well, my NSV is that I didn't have to lift the arm rest and was able to buckle the seat belt and even pull it in an inch or so. Also, the tray table came down without resting at an angle on my stomach. My hubby is large too, so we never sit next to each other, we gamble on having a smaller person next to us. So I had to jump up and go tell him about my NSV and of course explain what a non-scale victory means. He was happy for me. I had lost 58 pounds when we left for vacation and only gained a half pound or so which is good for not being able to eat at regular times and always having to eat out! :tt1:

    June Post Ops!

Hello everyone, glad to see there a still a few familiar names around. It took me a few months but finally got the new app on my phone. It seems as of everyone is doing well and hitting those milestones both on and of the scale. Congrats everyone. I reached onederland in November and am 1 pound away from 100 lost. It feels really good :-). The nsv's are also lots of fun. Some examples are: going horseback riding and getting on and of by myself shopping in regular stores (although it was really hard at first, I walked out of many stores because I was so intimidated and didn't know where to start! ) much more energy joints that don't hurt first pair of knee high boots much lighter suitcase when going on holiday buying a really cute sun dress off a vendor on the beach That's about it for now. Keep up the good work.
  15. Woofay- You rock woman!! Congrats on the NSV! And just FYI, I don't think their stuff runs that big, so take the compliment! :biggrin1: I just bought my first pair of jeans in 10 years from AE Outfitters ...they won't fit me yet but I'm going to hang them right on my closet door to remind me that I need to get my butt in gear when I get my cast off next week! Motivation clothing!!!! They are super cute wide leg jeans. I can't wait to get my cast off so I can work out instead of sitting on the computer and shopping!! Hee hee! Oh, and by the way...across the river is only about 10 to 15 minutes away, so I really don't have any excuse for not going to a gym in Iowa other than the bridge rush hour traffic (which I could easily avoid). I'm really just a slacker! Dee- They still have the picture of my little puppy on the humane society website...I'm going to take my chances and drive over there tomorrow on the off chance that the guy that answered the phone didn't know what he was talking about. They have another Jack Russel also, but he's not as cute... My husband doesn't know about this yet so I may be headed for divorce (which might be ok at this point as I am not too happy with him lately...) Wish me luck with my puppy endeavor!!
  16. How frightening! Isn't the husband a suspect in the Cooper case too? Hey, I see your 'pack won yesterday!! I'm a Tarheel fan (don't throw anything) now, but was a 'pack fan when I was a kid. Have had family at both schools. At least we're not Dookies, right? Glad to hear he's home! Labs will eats ANYTHING handfed, I'm convinced, just to please their people. Such a good boy!! Bwhahahahahahaha!!! Love it! I love the new glasses!! So very cute!! Congrats on your NSVs! Nothing makes me happier that a good deal~ you hit the motherload!! Congrats on your NSVs! It's the little things that make it all worthwhile! I would be all over that!! That is a dream of mine! Somebody on this thread alreay does that, but they haven't posted in awhile. Help me remember who it is folks! Back to my scraping and then mowing the yard. More later.
  17. Deb ~ I am sending healing thoughts to your sweet Tucker. Dee ~ Congrats on those NSVs, girlie! You are so inspirational to me. Lap ~ I am definitely thinking of those states in the path of Gustav; we already have some evacuees here in Georgia. And now we have to worry about Hanna... Michelle ~ I know all have missed you around here, I hope you hang in there and find your happy medium. :frown: Happy long weekend to those of us fortunate enough to be off tomorrow. I never associated fireworks with Labor Day but apparently some of my neighbors do...good thing I plan to be up for awhile. :wink2:
  18. Denver - I guess I'll have to be ok with Sarah being in Washington...better there than here! Haha! You have much more talent than I could ever muster! Newbies - congrats on getting information, getting in touch, getting a date! I can say the only thing I regret is that I waited so long to get it done! It took me SIX YEARS to make the decision! To note: when you post a New Reply (not a quick reply - the New Reply button is on the left after all the posts) then right under your message that you type you can opt for daily emails...this is what I do so I'm not logging on all day (and, besides, internet is SLOOOWWW up here in the north). It's an easy way to keep up with everyone and to see that people are keeping up with you. Winter is coming, winter is coming! NSV for me...BIG one. YEARS ago my DH got me a cool leather jacket. It's one of those "fitted" ones with one button. Well, I never could wear it comfortably with it buttoned (boobs too big, too tight, etc.) But I decided to throw it on yesterday and, WHAM, it fits perfect! Actually, there's plenty of room to spare so maybe it's time for a new one?!?! :-)
  19. ((hugs)) girly... I feel you on the not being a good bandster and having a hard time affording the fills. I am right there with you. Don't hide though! We all have ups and downs and are here to help pull each other up when we stumble. If you don't let us know, we can help. :w00t: :tt2: Hang in there... you will find your momentum. LAP~ You are looking like a hot tamale my friend. Loved the slide show. Keep up the amazing work! NSV for me today. I am wearing size 26's comfortably now. My 32's & 30's have been forbidden  by my co-workers... along with some of my 28's. I have pigpen butt in those according to them. :crying: I am pretty happy. Everything in my closet pretty much fits again. I dread having to get new clothes because we are tight on money... but I also look forward to buying pretty things. Ahhh such troubles. lol. Don't know if I mentioned my hubby got a new job. So proud of my man. He is working as a mechanic now. He actually gets his ASE Cert in January... but he got hired on to work under a master mechanic to learn as he goes until then.
  20. Welcome Sidann! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! Do you live here in Colorado? Join us at Red Robins each month for some extra support, if you do. You'll be thrilled with Dr. K and his staff! This surgery has been the best thing for me! Each new day brings me a new NSV! I love it!:rolleyes2: dee~
  21. Happy Sunday morning, all! Dorky one, I LOVE your new glasses. And your hair is so cute! With all the NSVs going on in your life, you must be feeling really good! I hear ya' with the out of state thing. I think it's only natural that, if we were seeing Dr. K. every month, we could ask him those things that come up in our minds. But since we're not, we end up with little and/or conflicting info from aftercare people. And the conflicting info is the worst! We should always follow what our doctors say, but which one should we follow? As you stated, though, that's kind of the price we pay for making the decision to go out of town, so thank heavens we do have this site!!! Denise, it really sounds like you need a little unfill. Do you take anything like prilosec on a regular basis? The guy I went to the other day highly recommends taking it every day to prevent "gastritis" problems down the road. Just a thought. You must have been so thrilled with the deals on the dresses! I LOVE a good bargain. Oh yes I do  On a completely different note . . . DH and I have been having some wacky thoughts lately about retiring in 5 or 6 years, selling everything we own, and living in a motorhome. We could spend the summers on the Oregon coast (our favorite place on earth), spend more time with our grandbaby in northern california, get out of the cold in the winter, etc. Are we nuts? Any thoughts on this plan?
  22. Hey Folks! I had two great NSV's this week! In 2005, I had my achilles rupture and since that time, I haven't been able to stand on my tippy toes! I didn't have surgery to correct this, I wore a brace. Anyway, yesterday at Whole Foods, I was trying to reach the Brown Rice pasta and I just stood on my tippie toes and got it! Then it hit me! I had stood on my toes! I got tears in my eyes and just stood there for a moment of silence! Then today, I went swimming at Lifetime and I was able to get into the pool by way of the ladder! That's amazing! I usually have to take the steps! The ladder! Me!! The simple things in life that others have taken for granted! I am blessed to have achieved! I'm thrilled!
  23. I know what you mean Bella. I talk about this all the time. I know someday I will get PS, but I have another 4 1/2 years until I have my lapband surgery paid off so I will have to wait until then unless something else happens. Depressing to know that it will be 5 years before I can get this extra gross skin taken care of and my breast will keep sagging until then too. I think I would even be happy with my body now if I could have PS. I think I would be able to fit into a size 10 then (I am wearing a size 12 now) and I never even thought about wearing a size smaller than that. I am getting to the point where I can tell a difference in my shoulders and face. I even wore a tank top when I went golfing with my hubby yesterday!!! That is a NSV!
  24. Hey, Guys! I've been having a lot of fun reading the new posts. How neat are the NSV? How about not having to take a ton of ibuprofen/aleve just so your knees/feet don't hurt too much to function? Or... Taking your blood pressure in a Target/Walmart and its normal??? I have lots...but anyhow! Did you all see the weather forecast for tomorrow??? CRAP! Not sure I'll be present for the RR.... I've only missed one....{sniff, sniff} But, after last months trip home, I think I'll listen to the forecast. Of course, things can change quickly here, so who knows until tomorrow. Have a great night all!
  25. Dynamo~ I am happy for Todd that he is out of the hospital, but WOW, why wait until he has another episode? There has to be something they can do??? Darn it! I am sooo watching AI too! I cried, I laughed, and I lost A LOT of IQ points! I love the crazy sparkly girl...she is freakin out though!! I worked out tonight NSV 1330 mile on the elpitical...shooting for 12!! Did 1.5 on the bike and then finished my 3 miles on the treadmill (boring). Did the free weights and that was that...another workout done! I do seem hungrier after working out. I have an appointment for a fill on the 31st.
