Okay so today I weighed in again (wasn’t planning on it, but I had some good quality bathroom time (yeah, maybe TMI, but I had been seriously battling some constipation for weeks). I’m down to 146.4, which is unbelievable considering I was in the lower 150’s for about 3 weeks. I think it’s actually going to be possible for me to see 139, which is a complete mind F**K, TBH. That being said, I understand that some rebound is to be expected so right now I’ll say anywhere in my modified GW range of 150-155.

In person, I seldom talk TMI around men but on a forum it doesn't bother me. Most of these men have had wives or sisters they know this stuff exists, and as a mother to 2 boys and a husband tee hee I definitely know their stuff exists.

VSG on 4/16/18: My journey
scornet1 replied to TexasMommy80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my gastric bypass on 4/16 as well. My roughest obstacle has been the muscle stitch and trying to get out of bed or a deep chair. Coughing was agony! But today, 4/21 is much much better. I walked and walked and walked and I think that it helped me progress. I did not take any prescribed pain medication either. I am a recovering alcoholic (3yrs[emoji5]) and in rehab they caution against any addictive substances so I declined. I did take adult liquid Tylenol when I got home Wednesday night and Thursday through the day. Yesterday I walked through the pain and feel so great today I have not had any issues with getting liquids down, it just takes forever[emoji13]. I have had lots of (TMI ALERT) watery dark bowel movements. The Dr. office said to call if they look like tar. They don’t so I’m not worried about it. One last comment, I have experienced a huge change in my energy. I was always so tired every morning before I had surgery, and was expecting to be very tired while recovering. The opposite is true. I find that I have lots of energy! This is good and bad....... we are getting possession of another home we purchased tomorrow and there are sooooo many things that need to be done, and I cannot do any of it. I want to, and feel like I can, but I know I am asking for a surgery if I start lifting or moving. We had our procedures done on the same day and I will look for your posts to see how you are coming along and cheer on your successes. Good luck! My weight day before surgery was 245. I am 5’7. I am not going to weigh myself until Monday. 1 week out. I know I could get crazy watching the scale and a don’t want to get fixated on numbers. -
I know this may be TMI,but I suffer from PMDD and I'm over a week late. I was banded 12-28-12 and the ugly mood is there but not my period. Is this normal? Definitely not preg (tubal ligation)

Post-op periods
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to Stephanie Stroup McIntosh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi!!! I am six weeks post op - and my period was last week. I swear.... my entire uterus came out during my period ( I know TMI). I honest have not bleed that much since I misscarried over 10 years ago. WOW!!! And the cramps - were so bad. According to my surgeon, the periods are a mystery after surgery. So anything can go. Here is what I did.... When the cramping was bad (and yes, I wanted to wrap myself in a ball and die) - I got up and walked around. This really helped - sure at first it sucked but it did let up after a few minutes of walking. Night time was the worst - so I just went up and down the stairs when I woke up. And this first period was 9 days - can you say - kill me now!!! -
I felt like a kid on their first day at school today! Excited AND nervous. I started my Pureed/Blended Soft Diet. This morning I had 1 super soft scrambled egg, and for lunch I blended tuna (in water) with low-fat Mayo. Both went down easily, since I was eating teeny weeny bites, and chewing, chewing, chewing. Both tasted wonderful! But the most interesting thing to me, is that I am not the least bit hungry. After I got up this morning, it was still about 3 hours before I cooked the egg. Either I'm no longer able to tell when I'm hungry (which would be a good thing), or I've never really known what TRUE hunger is (probably a true fact anyway). I don't know if it's because my sleeve is still new and in the healing phase, or if it will stay. But if I had my choice, I would choose that it stayed this way. Still sipping water, and protein shake in between the meals -- still have to get all that in. SLEEP -- I can't sleep more than 4 hours at night, and then NONE during the day. I'm getting really, really tired, and would love nothing else than to lay down and have a nice long nap, but alas, the sleep just won't come. Prior to surgery, I could nap at the drop of a hat. If I'm still not sleeping better by next week, then I am DEFINITELY calling the Doc. WARNING - TMI Coming up - Okay, I've been wondering this, and I haven't seen it anywhere on the boards, so I thought I would put it on here -- My pee has been super concentrated since the surgery, but today it wasn't. I have to say I'm relieved. I was beginning to worry about it, and didn't think to ask the Surgeon about it.

HELP! SERIOUS gas 4 months post-op..poss. TMI
MistyDTX posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 months post-op and the last 2 days have been agony for me. I have had the worst gas I have ever experienced. I've also had diarrhea for the last 24 hours. I've used Gas-X strips, taken Gas-X tabs and taken some Immodium. Tonight I took a hot bath and have been using the heating pad. I made myself take my DD to the park because I know walking helps get the gas out. NOTHING is helping! The last time I had this much discomfort I was in the hospital having a baby! These gas pains have been so bad they've felt like labor! Until now I haven't had any gas issues at all, other than right after banding. Is gas this severe common? It's nuts, I can HEAR and FEEL the gas in my belly. What else should I do? HELP! -

For Fun: Beautifying for surgery....
jblkmom replied to MisforMimi's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I got my hair done and my woohoo sugared (sorry if TMI) today. Might get mani pedi this weekend but no polish on the nails. I will shave my legs the day before along with the special wash they gave me for day before and morning of surgery. I don't want to have to deal with any maintenance for awhile after surgery. -
For Fun: Beautifying for surgery....

my woohoo sugared (sorry if TMI) Omg I'm not alone. I was sitting here waxing like its a hot date and told myself I'm freaking crazy! -
I agreee, just keep trying things and be creative. Hey check the thread further up, I posted about these 2.5oz shots I got that have 28g of Protein. THey're made by Hormel and not TOO terrible. mp I started out thinking about just hydrating, but I had so little energy, I decided to add in protein. It def. gave me a pep in my step (not literally.. lol) and I needed it. TMI but after anesthesia, I have trouble peeing. It's happened every time I have aneths. So of course it happened again. I'd be all night long having to pee, but couldn't go. Add to my hospital experience being straight-cathed twice, JUST so I could pee... omg... so I was super paranoid about peeing. Making sure I'm getting enough liquid to keep going to the potty!!! I think if there was something to be paranoid about, I'd find it!!! I really need to take a chill pill soon! lol.... I am going to get on the scale tomorrow I think. I haven't been on it yet. Kinda crazy with fluids, surgery, a drain still hanging on me, bandages, but I'm curious.

What was your Infamous Week 3 Stall experience?
Lulah replied to NotSoTall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was losing about 1-2lbs a day starting around day 4 post op. When I got to week 3 I just stopped losing, but I was pms'ing and constipated (ugh tmi). Well I am now almost 6 weeks out and weighed myself today (only weighing on Fridays) and I was down 2lbs so I'm praying that my stall is over!!! -
Over the past 2-3 days i've been experiencing sharp pain on my right side. It's located near an incision, but theres no pain to the touch or redness. The pain can come at anytime, i can be sitting up, or leaning back, or getting out of a chair, or walking. (TMI ALERT) I haven't been doing my regular walking actually, also a little constipated. I can go to the bathroom, it just seems like it's not a "normal" amount. Then again i'm on puree for a few more days. Could this be gas pain? It's not like the muscle pain i get when sitting up, just using my stomach muscles. It's kinda worrying me since i woke up and it took me a bit to sit up before i said "screw this" and pushed through the pain.

what "little" things are you looking forward to post-surgery?
New&Improved replied to artisticmindRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Being able to buy clothes from a decent store good brands not just big and tall.. Being able to walk around for hours to keep up with my family. Being able to fit on rides better. Not dealing with sweat between rolls (tmi) Not being looked at everytime I go out to eat. Being able to run for more than 30 seconds. Well be nice to have some female attention for once! Fit people get treated better in every aspect of life especially when shopping! Being able to fit into my sports car better Being able to go hiking it's been about 6 years.. Being able to save money on food and being a cheap drunk if I ever do drink. My biggest one is hopefully not to be hungry constantly every day, eating to live not living just to eat! -

A question for the ladys
SageTracey replied to twomin2midnight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went from not having a period for 15 months pre-surgery to having three in six weeks immediately post-surgery. Now almost five months post, I am back on monthly schedule but, oh boy, is this one a doozy! At the risk of TMI, I got out of bed this morning to go for a walk but needed a shower and to change my bed instead! -
Ate 1660 cals yesterday, am in full panic mode
Globetrotter replied to Globetrotter's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Haha, just watch, Swizzly will end up being down a pound the next time she weighs after that food-a-palooza . TMI Alert: As for me, I seem to have caught some sort of intestinal thing because even though I've only eaten 3 pieces of toast and a couple saltines in the last 3 days, I'm in the powder room every half hour. Trying to stay hydrated. As for the rest, I do not have enough sick time accrued to go to Germany, and I simply cannot afford leave without pay so I am stuck for the moment until I think of something. -
Has Anyone Had Successful Ivf With Lap Band?
Jim1967 replied to Kekebefree's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Kekebefree,,, I have been and still am on clomiphene 3 days a week and I take Arimidex once a day. My Urologist found my estrogen level was a little high and was interfering with my testosterone. His hope was correcting this issue would increase my count and it did but very very little. For 7 months we monitored and I had analysis done. Doctor informed me after 7 months we did all we could with medicine and that Surgery was the next step to see if there is a blockage and see if he could extract specimen to use for IVF. On March 28, 2012 I had the surgery and no blockage was found but they managed to extract a little viable sperm. Doctor said it was very little and it would be wise for a back up plan for donor sperm just in case. My Wife and I are still on the fence on that one but a decision needs to be made soon as the IVF is going to start on her next cycle. As you can see I am pretty open guy and perhaps I over shared here but you're husband has nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. Sexual dysfunction comes in a variety of ways and it is a serious health issue for men and women. It can play havoc both mentally and physically. Here is a link that has an overview of the procedure: http://malereproduct...erm-aspiration/ I can go into more detail on the surgical procedure and recovery if your interested. We can even have a private conversation if you like. Either through here or I can message you my email address. Also, I still continue to take the meds listed above and will continue to do so. Without getting too much more into TMI I take those meds because of the increased drive and performance and on the non-sexual front I have increased motivation. I have blood tests and see my Urologist every 6 months to ensure all is well. All the best,,,Jim -
Colonoscopy next week .... oh joy ....

Vomiting Undigested Food In The Morning?
willowcat replied to blackcherry2002's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think it may just be that some of those fibrous foods just aren't making it through the band. I've had the band for 4 years, and I also just go ahead and pb rather than suffer through the pain. I'm stll trying to figure out what I can and can't eat--and it changes! Sometimes I can eat a food just fine and have no problems and then on other days it just won't go down. I think there are many variables involved. One thing I do know though Is that it's not uncommon for 90% of the food to go down just fine with the other 10% not going down so well. For example, popcorn will go down just fine--except got the kernel husks. Hours later I'll be in pain, go pb and all that comes up is kernel husks (sorry for TMI). I've nicknamed it the "sieve effect"--the little bits go down but the bigger (more fibrous?) bits don't and must come up. I haven't decided if that means I can't eat popcorn--though I don't like the "sieve effect" so I generally stay away from popcorn anymore. Maybe you're experiencing the "sieve effect"? Birth Control?... Possibly Tmi
ebthompson2010 replied to wikdwich's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the para guard copper IUD. And my only complaint is that I had to have a new one put in yesterday because my first one had become embedded into y cervix after falling from my uterus after 8 mos. If TMI sorry. But other than that I've had no complications. -
Frustrated with the small amounts of food? I am!
CyndiMomto3 replied to SpideyMom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know exactly what you mean! I was running around cleaning this morning and made some egg whites with salsa and fat free mozz (yum) and I kept re-heating them because I never sat down to eat them...well then when I finally did eat them, I ate them too fast and they got stuck. TMI but I threw them up about 30-60 sec later. I was really bummed! I think I am still getting over just mentally WANTING to eat...not that my body necessarily needs what my mind WANTS, does that make sense??
