I am SO SO SO confused!!!! From day one the doctor told me I was having a revision!! He was going to do a combination of a bypass and DS because of my BMI. So since June I thought I had a DS... (surgery was actually done by another doctor in his office)....today I found out that I had a Malabsorbtion Bypass and no DS???? So all the study and research I did on the DS was in vain!!!!! He told me that the reason I was doing the DS was that the greater percentage of weight loss and the lower percentage of likely hood to gain it back!!!! Right now I am just numb!!! I have a call into his office to find out why??? and why I wasn't told???? This may make sense as to why I still can eat!!!!

I'm going in for a sleeve revision October 4th. It worked well for me, and I am not back to my starting weight. However, a revision is strongly encouraged at this time (there are additional medical issues). I have decided to forgo the insurance process, even though I know I would eventually be approved. "Eventually" is the key issue here. I have a small window to create this to where it will not impact my work or home life as much, and waiting for the insurance approval would take over a year.

One week post-revision, down 5 lbs since surgery day.....which puts me back under 300. VICTORY!!! Still a ways to go but I'll take every little win I can get. Feeling great other than minor abdominal discomfort.

5 days post-op revision from VSG to MGB. Back home, feeling great. No more gas pain. Only minor discomfort in the abdominals, rather like after having done a bunch of sit-ups. Definitely don't feel like eating anything. Don't even have the boredom hunger like I had before. Fluids are going down ok though so that's good. Going back to work tomorrow. Wish me luck.

My ACL revision surgery went great! Surgical center was on point. I did a million things ahead of time (groceries, medication, etc) This time is less painful, better meds and best of all, I have a Cryo Cube. An ice box thing that circulates cold water around my knee to cool it, for pain and swelling. It is the bomb.com! I am not looking forward to PT & it stinks that I am going to lose so much of my summer. Hopefully I can do more stuff, like Tango when this is done. I wish it was WLS surgery, I have to wait until November for that. ($$).

They should have in the type of surgery option "Revision" because it looks weird to say you lost over 100 lbs. and you just had surgery a month ago.

@WLSResources/ClothingExch So very true, like during pre-op diets. Some of those people are so amazing to lose so much weight on their own. I struggled big time

I am thinking of having a sleeve revised into a full bypass. Has anyone had that done? And what we're the results?

Are you having problems with your Sleeve? I personally haven't had any revision. But my hubby had his Lap Band for 13 years. It eroded into his liver and it was a mess. He was sick for 9 months with abcesses. Tried again 1 year ago but the scar tissue was amost solid on his right side so they did the Sleeve on him. I had my RNY almost 4 years ago. I have done well. I do hear of others having revisions so maybe someone will read your post. Good Luck

I am currently pursuing a revision from Lapband to Sleeve. My surgery date is scheduled for July 14th with Dr. Gerardo Garcia Alvarez at Bariatric Mexico in Cabo. I am having an endoscopy done on Tuesday May 16th, and as long as everything checks out with my band internally they will do it in one surgery. I am scared that the scope will show erosion, and I’ll have to just have it removed, instead of the revision, because I can’t afford two trips to Mexico
I have ZERO symptoms of lapband problems as far as pain/reflux issues. I just can’t eat anything without it coming back up. I am very much looking forward to getting off the yo you dieting, and joining the losers bench!
Would really love to hear other stories of revisions..

Yes medicare covers revision, but you must have a bmi over 35 with one co-morbidity, or over 40.
good luck with yours

You are a terrific resource and enjoy reading your posts
I am due for revision Band to VSG late/December. Either Aceves or Rodriguez will do the surgery. I did well with the band and don't have a lot to lose but am focused on maintaining my lifestyle and not gaining weight back - even losing a bit more. As I get closer and after revision I will post to get helpful suggestions

Should I revise my goal now that I made my initial one? Goal was 155 - currently 154.8 - I wonder where I will end up?

I just found out my pre-authorization for a revision; lap band to sleeve has been denied. I am now appealing the decision. I am also looking into surgery in Mexico has I can't self-pay in the US.
