One week to go... It seems surreal!!!
-
Why am I craving Dr. Pepper I might have drank that 3 times in my whole life and I was 18 last time I did.
-
@karine76, that's what I meant. Gummy, hairy vegetables are gagsome.....And that should have been "you're."

Keep your fingers crossed for me....On Friday I finally had an epidural injection in my thoracic spine to try to get my mid back and rib pain to improve. This particular pain has been plagueing me for 1 1/2 years following my cervical fusion. Yesterday was the first time in 1 1/2 years that I had NO pain! Today I have pain but it is mild and totally tolerable. It takes a full week before you know the results of an epidural completely but I am so very hopeful that we finally found the cause and have treated it properly.

Ok, I'm irritated. I just wanted to *read* the Great One-Week Pork Chop Post and can't find it. Back to real life, I guess

Blaah....day 10 and I'm feeling sad. The monotomy of this pre op diet is wearing on me. However I've perservered. Very anxious about things, surgery coming up this Wednesday. My weight loss has slowed down significantly since last week. Only lost 2 more pounds which bums me out when I have not so much as licked a spoon that I shouldn't have. On a brighter note, I feel good as far as my aches and pains go, in spite of the fact that I've had no ibuprophen since the 12th.

This continues to be the best thing I've ever done for my health. My auto-immune arthritis pain is subsiding with zero meds. I do see my rheumy next week to get back on meds because even without pain the inflammation can damage joints. But I haven't felt this good unmedicated for years. Clothes continue having to go in the "giveaway" box for getting too loose. This weekend I'll have to pull down boxes of clothes that are smaller and assess the wardrobe. Getting more active, and feeling generally pretty good. Even cleaned part of my house last night!

Manic Monday! What's on your plate? I've already emptied the dishwasher, thrown together a meat sauce for dinner, down two loads of laundy, and entered my calendar for the week. It's almost 7am and I am on the move!

I have been shrinking, shrinking, inches coming off everywhere but in a scale stall. Stall finally broke and the scale moved.
-
@Caribear everyone should take their measurements every month. It is really more helpful than the scale.
-
My new nightly snack is 1/4 small apple, 3-4 cuts of cheddar, and a Dove dark promise. Perfection on a (little) plate.
-
@TWW200 You DON'T have CHEESE?? What kind of monster are you??

I stepped onto the scales this morning and finally reached the milestone that I was begining to think would never come-ONEDERLAND! Do I have loose, saggy skin? You bet! But I would take that any day of the week over fat filled skin. There is a surgery to help correct that just like there was a surgery to help me get to where I am today. To finally see that number makes me feel even more determined to reach my goal and to maintain that for the rest of my life. So very grateful for my sleeve! Happy Monday everyone:)
-
@BigViffer you are so right about that! Now to lose the last thirty or so pounds and start living at goal. The biggest challenge will be maintaining.

Have definitely stalled. Not worried about the weight, but I know I need to get my protein and calories up a bit from what I've been managing.
-
Finally completely moved into my new apartment. Still have to unpack but that is a completely different beast. Classes have already started. On the plus side, I didn't weigh myself for nearly a week because my scale was at the old place (intentional) and I ended up dropping 10lbs this week. Guessing all these stairs up and down from the 3rd floor had a bit to do with that.

I plan on going to the Obesity Control Center in Tijuana the first week of December. Has anyone had surgery there?
-
That is great, and you look great. I am planning to go in December because I have that whole month off work, I am financing the surgery and that way payments won't be due until January. I am just a little unsure about going to Tijuana for surgery. I really just need to know if your experience with Dr. Ortiz and the OCC where on par with what is explained on the website.
-
I have been to TJ twice for surgery. Once for VSG and once for plastics. I had no issues either time. I received excellent care and always felt safe. My experience with OCC was exactly what I expected it to be, based on the research I had done. The only hiccup was transportation from the airport across the border. I was supposed to be shuttled across with another couple and their flight was delayed, so I had to wait quite a long time at the airport for them to get in before the shuttle took us to the hotel. That was nothing within OCC's control though, obviously. Everything else was smooth sailing,

I have a full-thickness tear in my rotator cuff, so surgery on 9/13. Ugh, and yay all at the same time. Glad it can be repaired surgically, not looking forward to an immobilized right arm for 6 weeks

Surgery in a week in Tijuana. I'm getting nervous!

Have joined the Gym this week bring on the workouts

I haven't been around much! I started school Monday and let me tell you, this has been one of the longest weeks of my life. It feels like Monday was weeks ago. I have two 12-hour days and two that are at least 6 hours but will almost always be closer to 10 hours after factoring in studio time. Bring it on! This workload is huge and intimidating but I'm truly loving it. I do have a slight problem, though... I've been horrible about getting calories/water in. I'm going to have to figure out how to balance this new life... D:

One week out. Working from home is going well. I think I'll be able to handle the office 3 days next week. Finding myself just not hungry, having to set reminders on my phone for drinking and protein and walking around. Which is what I'd hoped for, but it makes it a struggle to get in enough.
-
3 weeks and 2 days today and im down 20 pounds and i feel like it! I can really see the difference and im soo glad i had the surgery. No regrets at all!
-
I am almost 6 months post-op. I have had a very stressful 2 months with my husband being ill. He was hospitalized for three weeks in Cleveland, OH and then Cheyenne
-
Oh my, so sorry your going through this. To get some protien in they do have powder shakes, you can take a small 8oz carton of the milk on the shelf. They sell it usually in the Organic section. Put powder in shaker at home take milk with you in purse or another bag you might take a book in to read? Mix the 2 when hungry and drink. I would also take the ready to drink drinks. Put in fridge at night does stay a bit cold while your out. Prayers to you and your husband.

I am having my surgery on Monday first thing in the morning. That being said i am on my 3 day clear liquid diet i started today. I was hungry until my stepdad gave me a idea. Get off the jello and broth drink water it will fill you up. I made some lemon water so its like lemonade and im starting to get not hungry. Im a little nervous for surgery on monday i hope all goes well.
-
Just keep your eye on the prize. The first day of clear liquids is the worst. Hopefully tomorrow you will be better.
Good luck on your surgery....most people that think about the worst are pleasantly surprised that it is not so bad. The worst is getting used to drinking so many fluids after but once you do, life gets grand fast!

Yes indeed! I just fit into one of my old size 14 capri's.....The day of surgery I wore a size 22 to the hospital...Not too bad for less than 3 months!!!
-
@Valentina.....haha No! we don't have a president now or for that matter one in contention for the job that I would consider singing to! But yes I knew that about Marilyn Monroe....and quite frankly with all the vanity sizing they do now I bet back in her day a 14 was probably what our size 6 is now.
-
Don't even get me started on politics!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT ANOTHER CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!
I've read that Marilyn was sown into the dress she wore "that" night, but WOW!!! Lady, that was nooo size 6!! No with all of those curves------must be like looking into a mirror for you, right?
You are just rock'n this WLS thing.
-
thank you @Valentina.............and I'm with you on the politics.....I want another choice as well. I have no idea what I'm going to do in November....it's a very sad and scary thing we're about to head into......I hate even thinking about it!

I went to get my rings re-sized yesterday. They fell off at the pool last week and that scared me enough to get it done. From 9.5 to 8!
