Congrats! Can't wait until I'm there. I'm stuck in 20s for now. But I had a NSV a couple of days ago. I went to a dancehall and was actually asked to dance! That's never happened before. The poor guy had to teach me lol.

Today I went shopping and did not have to go to the plus size section!! I'm wearing an extra large in most clothes and almost in a regular 16 in pants. My 16w are getting to big. HOWEVER- I've been getting this weird feeling of tiredness coming on and off all day long. I did the warm up exe on wii Zumba and was dizzy after 8 mins. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

New Member,8 Month Post Op!
Pookeyism replied to Kevin W.'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This forum is an excellent place to be. Very helpful and inspiring... Please take a minute or ten and share some of your experiences with us...seasoned sleevers are an important tools for the newbies...and the newbies help remind us to stay motivated We use a term here - NSV "Non-scale Victory"...would love to hear about some of yours. it's anything not scale related that was a goal or a "win" or an unexpected benefit... Great progress and keep it up! -
hey NJ2NC! go for that November 5k! You can do it! To answer your question, yes. My first was last November and I walked most of it. I thought I was going to die by the end of it. But I turned around and did another one in March (and actually jogged a little of it)...yep...less than two months after my LB surgery (does anyone else think its funny that the lap band abbreviation is the same as for "pound"? LOL). The next day, after that 2nd 5k, I did a two mile walk for March of Dimes. I haven't become a runner yet (and don't really plan to, LOL) but I don't mind a good long walk somewhere. I wanted to our local town's 5k Booby Bolt this morning. I love that name, and you can probably guess that its to raise money for breast cancer research & treatment. however, I didn't have the registration money until yesterday so I didn't get up this morning to be there for the 7a registration. I plan to do it next year though. My mom is a BC survivor and I want to do it for her. I'm hoping i can get her to walk it with me. Next month is the Mayor's 5k Challenge..2nd annual. Its the one I did last year. This past Thursday, I went out to walk on my lunch hour. I just decided I was going to see how far i could get on the route for that walk. I walked all but 2-tenths of a mile! I'm so ready to do that one again this year! I never thought I'd be saying that. on top of that, when I got on the scale this morning, I've lost a couple more pounds, putting me at 90 total! Yay! I've only got 10 more til my 100 pound goal! I'm trying to do that by 10/25 which would be my 9 month bandiversary. So...liquids, protein shakes and extra exercise...here i come! I did buy some unflavored Unjury powder yesterday to put in soup and my SF hawaiian punch drinks. I couldn't taste it my tomato soup last night. However, in my diet Snapple half tea/half lemonade, my tea had a milk color to it and it tasted kinda medicine-y. I wondered though if putting it in my blender to mix it, somehow changed the profile of it and gave it that taste. I'm going to get one of those shaker cups with the mixing ball in it and see if that helps. Sorry for rambling again...just so excited. Come on and share some victories Ladies. I don't care if they are scale, NSV, emotional, physical...whatever. let's just share. Have a truly blessed day everyone!

BSV- big scale victory!!! I've made it to TWO-TERVILLE (such an odd name) and never going back!!! This happened anout a week ago but I kept forgetting to take a picture. Yes, I wanted to take a picture of my scale! lol I haven't been in the 200's since I was probably 15 or 16. I still feel like such a big girl because I have the same shape but just smaller. A fair amount of family and friends know about my surgery but none of them know my numbers so I feel like this is the only safe place to share. NSV- You can actually see my dimples when I smile now! NSV- My father and I have now lost about the same amount of weight (around 115lbs). He's not a WLS but lost a lot with Atkins years ago, gained half of it back. Then his doctor put him on a plan called Bella Nutra. He lost what he gained back and then some. I really hope he can keep it off because he's almost 60 and I really worry for him. There's a lot of obesity and heart disease in our family. Anyway, this is the skinniest I've seen him in my entire life so I had to get a picture of our accomplishment.

Physical With Pcp & And Unexpected Nsv
Joisey01 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today was my annual physical with my PCP. My sleeve was 9-20-12. Since then, I've lost 33 lbs. I went to the appointment, for once, with nothing weighing heavily on my mind like: "I am going to have to get on that stupid scale again." or "What's the point in blood work? It's all going to be crap anyway." then there's "We're going to have to consider putting you on some diabetic medication this time....". I sat there next to hubs and was playing a game of words with friends, chatting with him and rather relaxed. He, on the other hand, was anticipating the prostate exam! Muahahahahahha! When the doc walked in, I was on the exam table. I turned to greet him and he stopped and said, "Joisey, you look GREAT!" He and I talked previously of my having the sleeve done. He gave me his full support and wrote a letter to my surgeon to give his consent for me to have the surgery. I guess he forgot about it. He looked at my chart and looked at me and couldn't believe how much weight I've lost. I'm not sure who was prouder of me. Him or me? It was really great to get that support today. We talked about all of my co-morbidities. He's not concerned at all about my cholesterol. It'll continue to resolve itself with losing more weight. We did blood work to check all the levels. We'll find out next week how things look when the results come in. Diabetic medication wasn't even brought up. My blood pressure was 113/70. I have to stay on the Nexium because of the sleeve. I can go off my blood pressure medication immediately. I guess today's visit was an unexpected fabulous NSV. Have a GREAT weekend, all! -
NSV = Non Scale Victory. Like my 19 yr old son coming for a visit and saying 'Mom, you look skinny'. That's a non-scale victory!

Giving Lb The Bad News...
Vicki Loichinger replied to ladyspl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
now that is great. See it is the little things that bring us such great pleasure. Just one more NSV that you will get to do. Funny how they nearly beg for your business. -
I had my 100 day check-up yesterday and my blood pressure is 121/ 79! I was on blood pressure meds pre op because of hypertension. The reading only 100 days ago was 158/ 92. Also my BMI went from 43 to 27!! I am so psyched about the BMI drop because it on needs to go to 23. I no longer need to use my cpap machine either. Doctor basically said keep doing what you are doing and congratulations. Thank you sleeve!

To make things even better on my wak this morning I did this odd slow running like thing think it was kind like jogging rotflmao. It was an awkward looking jogging but it was still jogging

Sorry, I know I'm dumb but what does 'NSV' stand for?

That's an exciting NSV. Have fun!

oh my goodness...I've got a lot of posts to catch up on. Otaknam...hang in there...it could just be water retention or something like that. Plus, depends on time of you day you go in as well. I weigh first thing in the morning and always hate going to the doctor in the afternoon because I always weigh more. I hope things are going better since your post about going to the doctor. JDI....you shouldn't deprive yourself if you are really craving the ice cream...but as with all things....we have to practice moderation. Its still hard for me to get used to that. I'm hurting right now because I had 1/4 cup too much chili...when I should have just stopped spooning it into the bowl...but I LOVE chili! so i understand. It really is a mind game with ourselves! Oh and I hope DD is okay from the accident. Oh and have you tried Frozen greek yogurt? i havent but i've heard others say its really good. Ready: Yay on the Onderland! That's awesome! Careful with that heartburn. If you haven't already, check with your doctor about that. Meredith: Thank you! Yes...I'm okay with the sizes as long as the clothes look decent on me. congrats on breaking that plateau too! Keep it up, you can do it! Ladybandito...I'm with you! I'm trying for 162. so close yet so far away. would love to have it gone by my 9 month bandiversary in exactly two weeks but I doubt that will happen. oh well. Horsegirl...keep it up girl! I like the idea of a recipe swap! let's do it. NJ2NC...congrats on that 5k! I did my first one last november and yours is about 10 minutes faster than my time. Its a great accomplishment so make sure you celebrate that! And remember, sometimes our reward is not on the scale but in how our clothes fit and how others see us. Take those compliments and those better fitting clothes and use them to get you through the days where the scale doesn't tell you anything new. ValAnn-great NSV! I haven't flown in forever...but I'm sure not worried about it now. You are so right. We've all come so far in these past 9 months...even the past year from when we (most likely) made the decision for WLS. I'm so happy I did this and thankful that God made a way for me to have it. I'm so thankful to have made all my new WLS friends too! Sorry for the long post. Love you all and God bless you abundantly!

I went yard saling with my hubby and came across a pair of jeans for $1 in SIZE 12!! The last time I wore a 12, I was in middle school!! WOOT!! my superpower is......

I've lost a little over 43 lbs and up until today no one had even noticed. Not my friends, not my family, no one. But today a co-worker asked me if I'm losing weight. Finally! I'm not crazy about added attention, but it was a little disheartening to have lost this much weight and having nobody even realize.

That has to be one of the best NSV I have seen, very happy for you. Congratulations!!

My 3yr old asked me to put on a movie this morn, so got up to do it and he stole my spot, I was sitting on our lounger part of couch, asked him to move and let me sit back down and he scooted over
