Nsv! So Excited!

Hey you! I love your NSV! So awesome! Keep it up! May the last 20lbs disappear really really fast.
2. Thanks for sharing. I too can't wait for these NSV moments. Keep up the good work!
3. Thank you Thank you Thank you! This post was exactly what I needed to put things back in perspective. Such a great inspiration. I am 8 weeks out and have lost 30 lbs so far as well as dropped 2 pant sizes (probably more like 3). I have been stuck there for a little over a week and have started to get a little frustrated but I know deep down that these "plateaus" happen (I just feel like I should have lost more by now...but there I go again pushing myself). Reading your post reminds me that I did this for me and my husband and my only regret was that I didn't do it sooner. Sure it hasn't been a total cake walk, but all in all it hasn't been that bad either. I can bend over without having to hold my breath now and tieing my shoes is easier than it has been in years and there is actual distance between the steering wheel and my tummy....good NSV's. I have been wearing clothes I haven't worn since 2008..woohoo!! I am slowly learning that food was not the enemy...I was my own enemy. I now feel I have control and am gaining more and more confidence every day. This was good!

The New Waiting Game

IsB glad you got your approval WooHoo for me - diabetes meds/insulin disappeared - no more HB meds - no more CPAP - sounds like you are on the same road your ambitions/plans are great - you'll be enjoying them and many other NSV's before you know it congrats good luck w/WLS speedy recovery
5. Last night was one of the highlights of my weight loss journey...this is a pic of my 18 year old daughter and I sharing my pre surgery pants...that didn't need to be tied to stay up before my sleeve! 20 pounds away from goal
6. Gouhls and drools, I have been waiting for this thread for 10 months!!! Let's hear them! Mine are the shoes!!! No boot is too small (well almost)!!!

Lost My Mojo!

Vent away, it helps . Yes, doubts are common, we've all tried a zillion diets that have failed, what makes this different? I would make a list of things that motivate you- NSV's- like going on the rides at the fair without worrying they'll kick you off for being too fat, no seatbelt extender on an airplane, weighing less than DH (these are a few of mine, LOL). Have a little journal where you write your feelings- good and bad- and reasons to keep on keeping on. It's still a journey, even though you have some excellent help in the form of the band. It will have ups and downs, remember this is a lifetime thing, not another diet. So you can do it, I know you can, just feel your feelings, own them, and try not to eat them . Nicki
8. Ok on MFP I saw someone post this, and it's so true.. NSV: collar bones! Heck back bones too! I remember sitting on a bench at Red Lobster asking what that was poking me in the back (thinking it was the wall)... it was my backbone! lol So USED to being FLUFFY!

9. So to day was getting ready for work, and pulled out a pair of jeans, thinking these are not going to fit. Holding my breath in goes one leg then the other and up they went...and where loose in the thighs and waist!!..so happy at 645 this morning I call my boyfriend of 3 yrs to tell him, he said good job babe, but I don't think I can handle this weight lost thing...I need time....WTH!!
10. Your post made me smile -what a great nsv!
11. Hi! I just had to share a NSV that is totally unrelated to the sleeve or weight loss. Yesterday, I completed my very first half marathon in San Francisco!! It was truly a life changing moment and I'm happy to say I DID IT!!! I was a member of Team in Training and raised funds for teh Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Being in San Francisco, the course had 4 huge hills, one being a mile all up hill and I did it! I didn't stop once other than a potty break at mile 1. When you hear these stories and you see the faces of those who lost their battle or who are still fighting it.. children, young adults, older folks... it really affects you. The whole time I was doing the marathon with already torn tendons in my foot when I started, when they burned or hurt or I was looking up those hills going OMG how am I going to get up that.. I just kept thinking, "Get your butt up there and walk, this is much easier than what these poor folks have to go through... this aint nothing, now walk"... Some of the signs being held up got to me also... One said.. THANK YOU from someone going through chemo now.... one said Without you we wouldn't be here and it was pictures of folks affected by cancer... it was so humbling.. What makes me proud aside from helping raise money to save lives is that I did it being fat!!!! The hardest course in the country and I am fat and I did it! I wasn't the last to finish either!!! Not by a long shot! SO, I can hold my head up and say I did it and you know.. I'd probably do it again! Just had to share!

Nsv

Another NSV I thought of today. I haven't asked my husband to rub my feet, or my back since about 3 weeks after surgery! They don't hurt anymore! 28 lbs down & 6 weeks post op tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, my back may hurt a little during the day, but not like it did before, and my feet certainly don't hurt like they used to!
13. Not that! Lol! We went to the movies and sat right next to each other... Comfortably! instead of leaving a seat in between us. My mom did point out that between the two of us we've lost 110lbs. Pretty much that was like a 110lb person missing from the arm rest between us! Woot woot! I was banded aug 7, 2012. Hubby was banded Sept 25, 2012.

What Can I Look Forward Too? :)

I was 5'6" and 373 pounds on April 1, this year. I was sleeved on June 5. I am currently 238. The list I put up was just a few of my non scale victories (nsv). I could go on and on. In 2009 I went through the entire 6 month pre op process, then, couldn't go through with it. Finally got back on track this year. My cardiologist said last week, that this surgery saved my life. He said I would have been dead or in open heart surgery in 5 years (I'm 37). There are risks, and not everyone has the wonderful, zero complication path that I was lucky enough to have. But, for me, I would do it over every day and twice on Sunday. It's normal to have pre surgery jitters. If they are bad enough, put it off til you're comfortable. But, don't waste years that you could be enjoying, over smal fears. I had 198 pounds to lose. After 5 months, I only have 65 more to lose. Hope this helps you.

Nsv!

I can finally tolerate yogurt! I tried the Yoplait 100 calorie Greek Yogurt and I didn't have to get on the BM train to Crapsville!!!! This is an awesome day! Just because you get severe lactose intolerance after surgery doesn't mean you will have it forever ...your new tummy may decide to start making lactase again!!!! Mine did!

'one'derland!

buforu21 WooHoo - Onderland - isn't it wonderful?!! what an awesome feeling feeling good about yourself, happy, not critical - you betcha this is a great NSV kudos/congrats on your success, many more good things in front of you, enjoy all of them keep up the terrific work
17. Weighed in at 197 this morning! I'm one week shy of my three month mark and I feel great! Some progress... I actually don't know my starting pant size because I wore sweats the final year before getting sleeved, I didn't wear jeans for probably the better part of two years because I was so ashamed! But the biggest pair I have in my possession is a stretchy pair of 18 pants, but I was at least a 20 Now I'm wearing a size 16 comfortably, with room to spare Again, with shirts the highest I have is XXL because for the last year up until surgery I wore oversized tee shirts and huge hoodies Now I'm wearing between a XL/L, depending on what brand it is It makes me sad to realize I wore the same stuff for a whole year! And sometimes I do get discouraged because I see that with 60 pounds gone I've only changed one shirt and pant size...but then I remember that these new sizes are actual clothes such as jeans and nice blouses, where as before it was sweats and hoodies So today I'm proud of myself, I'm becoming more and more comfortable each day and I know without the sleeve it wouldn't have been possible! I love my sleeve and I am finally experiencing life instead of watching it pass me by plagued by fear! I think me not being so critical of myself might even be an NSV for me lol!

Feeling Discouraged

I've been tracking my calories, with My Fitness Pal, since 6 weeks after the birth of my second child- right after I got filled again. I've lost several pant sizes, but only two pounds. I have now plateaued, even with NSV, despite continuing to cut1000 cal. a day. I also use an elliptical at least one time a week, in addition to chasing my 2 year old around. Any thoughts??

22. Bella - best of luck for today, thoughts are with you Maybe we need to do a thread here with everyone surgery dates as will all our members now I can't keep up with surgery dates for you all I had a great NSV yesterday - was looking for something to wear to my brothers for lunch and a swim and seen a netted top of my 12 yr old daughters (size M/L) to wear over my togs. I couldn't believe it when it fit perfectly...I was over the moon that I could fit into her clothes and showed hubby and he was blown away at it also . She said 'mum don't tell anyone you can now wear my clothes haha' Then had lunch with family and they were saying I'm now the smallest one of them all - THAT WAS GOLD So I hope everyone is well and ready for the next week ahead xx

Awesome NSV. Now you have to sing the hip bone is connected to the...
24. I went to a family party on Friday where several in my family were celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday. Her husband is very lean and works out regularly to maintain it. When I came through the door, he said "wow, you are really leaning out" that means a lot to me hearing it from a gym rat like him. Needless to say, I made it through the party with only eating a 3 oz salmon for dinner. There was also cake, ice cream, Cheetos, big donuts, etc. the good thing is that I was not phased at all by the food.
