I went clothes shopping yesterday for the first time in about 10 years. It was exhausting! I tried on so many pants. I don’t know what fits anymore. I've been wearing size 40 stretch waist band for the last 6+ years. So I started at size 36, then 34, then 32(tooooo tight). So I tried on 33 and some fit me. But for the first time in about 12 years I actually bought pants that did not have an elastic band in the waist. Woo Hoo! For the first time in many years my pants aren't baggy in the butt or hips. Thank you to my little lapband friend. tmf

Anyone Else Sick Of Leaning?
ProudGrammy replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
after my shower i have a plastic chair i would sit in front of the full length mirror to blow dry my hair, use curling Iron, i couldn't/wouldn't try and stand up doing this. i was uncomfortable. 92 lbs down, chair is now put away, and i stand in front of the medicine cabinet and do my hair, luv it. big accomplishment for me NSV? when DH and i went to grocery store, i would sit and wait in the car. various "leg/knee" reasons it was just easier. now, i go into the store while my DH closes his eyes in the car NSV not only am i walking better, i have built up my confidence that it doesn't bother me walking through the store amongst many others NSV -

Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
Susan 2.0 replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My NSV today: putting on hook & eye closure (not elastic!) pants that I could only dream of closing 2-3 days out from surgery due to my gas-filled belly!! -
I've given up the straw at work! Huge NSV for me as I work in a steammmmmy kitchen & we always have drinks nearby. I switched to a coffee lid instead of lid/straw. At home it's not an issue, but restaurants....well, I guess I won't be eating out much post-op anyway. 347*294/285/135 (*347HW/294SSW)

New To The Group.. Looking For Support..
Traci J. replied to Guelia1279's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Marilyn, welcome to the group. I am fairly new here myself but there is tons of information and support. There are a lot of great people here and they don't mind if you vent when your feeling down or praise yourself when you have NSVs....it's great to have so much support when you're going through something like this, especially if you don't really have support from those closest to you. Good luck and enjoy your journey! -

I run an annual conference for our customers. Due to the nature of my role, this is often the only time that I actually see them in person and sometimes an individual customer will miss a conference or two, so I only actually see them every two to three years. I am currently running our conference and have had the absolute thrill of about six of them coming up to me to congratulate me on my weight loss and ask how I have done it. One guy even asked if I was the same "Tracey" that ran the conference three years ago because he wasn't sure.

Nsv! Knee Boots Not Made For Bigger Thighs! :)
Sleevedreamz posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ordered several pair of knee boots last winter knowing they probably wouldn't fit, but always seemed to do this to myself. They arrived and didn't fit and of course it made me want to cry. However, I pulled them out tonight and thought I'd give it a try and they zipped up with no problem! I was so excited. I now have 3 more pair of boots that suddenly fit which thrills me. I have a couple pairs that still wont zip up, but they are so close which has not been the case for a long time. YAY!- 5 replies

Joy1961 replied to hopetolose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

A new NSV, sort of...Packing is always a challenge for me...and a girl's got to have options! Only one suitcase per person...and MUCH more fit into mine this trip than for our trip last October. Smaller sizes mean more clothing in the same space! LOL

I went into a store today to try on a sweater that the lady had to get down cause it was up high. She asked me if I wanted a small or medium. Wow, don't know if I will ever get used to that I am a medium, let alone someone sizing me up as a medium (or a small). I am still about 5 lbs from goal and have been for several months now, but I am at my goal of a size 8/10. So I am not that concerned with the 5 lbs. Will I ever get used to those kinds of compliments and how long do I get to claim them as nsv's?

Will I Need The Seat Belt Extender?
Mrs. CMK replied to Mrs. CMK's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh my goodness! So many NSV's in one situation! I would probably be doing some sort of crazy happy dance on the plane and get thrown off for erratic behavior. lol -
I have BCBS FEP and I love it. I was approved within days and only had to pay about $500 total out of pocket. That was trully my NSV. Congrats and many blessings to you.

I went out to Wally's World (walmart) and got a new bra. I didn't want to pay a lot of money for it especially since I expect I'll need a new size soon. So, I purchased a 38B and it has a small band made of lace, maybe 1 inch in width. So anyway I am wearing the new bra and have it attached to the second or middle row (NSV 1) and it's lying flat against my back(NSV 2). It hasn't rolled into any creases or it isn't digging into my back, it's just lying flat. My back fat rolls are GONE!!!! All of my other bras have wide 2 1/2 inch or wider bands to cover fat rolls. This is awesome because I am always conscious of how my shirts look from the back. I have broad shoulders and that plus back fat rolls is not a good look on me. Now the empty space in the cups is a another story. Loving my sleeve!

Height: 5'9 Highest Weight: 216 1st Goal Weight: 169 Sleeved: (8/17/2012): 216 lbs Week 1 (8/24): 204.8 (-11.2) Week 2 (8/31): 200.6 (-4.2) Week 3 (9/7): 196.8 (-3.8) Week 4 (9/14): 193.5 (-3.3) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> 9/17/12- 1 Month Anniversary w/Pics Posted in Blog Week 5 (9/21): 191.6 (-1.9) Week 6 (9/28): 190.1 (-1.5) Week 7 (10/5): 187.0 (-3.1) Week 8 (10/12): 181.9 (-5.1) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> 10/17/12- 2 Month Anniversary **While it doesn't look like I'm getting a ton of definition, I'm actually "de-swelling" pretty evenly and not all from one spot. Everything has shrunk from a size 14 (*cough* more like a 16 *cough*) pre-op to me fitting into my size 10 jeans. I never took measurements, but my clothing is pretty much telling the story for me. And the shorts I'm wearing in my 2 month pic wouldn't even go up my thighs 2 months ago- total NSV and now my favorite pool deck lounging booty shorts. I'm still swimming 5 days a week, and I'm getting really close to my first personal goal of 169, which is the highest allowable weight according to my BMI chart. In 2 weeks I got Halloween, and in 3 weeks my Birthday. I'm really stepping it up in workouts and extra stuff just so that I can be prepared to take pics with friends and be happy, and actually smiling in all my pics. I'm ready for pics with friends finally!!!

Halloween Hording! Well last year and probably all previous Halloweens I would buy the candy in bulk and "hide it" from everyone in the house so there would be some for the trick or treaters. LOL yah right! Since "I" knew where it was I would probably eat about half of the stash. Also since I work at a school, but not as a teacher I would float from class party to class party collecting yummy goodies. Well this year it has made it half way to Halloween and I haven't even thought about buying candy. NSV!! I was at the store today and noticed I was in the seasonal isle and didn't even think about grabbing a bag! I also have a very busy day scheduled for the 31st to avoid classrooms & staff rooms. If I start to feel worried I might just call in sick!! I will not gorge myself this year!!!!! So being in the season what are your Halloween should not and will dos??

I'm in the same boat guys! Sleeved March 11 and down 72 lbs. Stalled for 2.5 months from July until October 5th. Actually gained 10 lbs during my stall (guess it's not really a stall). Anyway, last week I dropped 6 lbs and got down to 159. Now I'm back up to 161. It's so frustrating. My goal is 155 and I wouldn't mind getting down to 145. I just want to make my first goal weight then focus on the next goal. I'm so close and I work out 5-6x a week, get all my protein and water but the scale just isn't giving me the results. Luckly I also take measurements so I know I'm losing inches but still! I'm glad I'm not alone. By the way, I'm 5'6" and big boned and would love to be wearing a size 10 but I'm still in a 13/14 but I did just buy size 6 underware and size medium jogging pants so it was a nice little NSV!!!
