  1. Hey guys, Was sleeved in Dallas October 25. One thing I did not read (and I read alot on line, books, etc) was that the week after surgery you learn quickly about POSTURE!. I have to sit up very straight so my incisions do not get sore. AND, the first week I lost so many inches that one fat roll is no longer there day 4 and I have to sit even more differently--so the incision doesn't rub my pants waist. HA. who new good posture would be a Non surgical benefit?
  2. I had a 10 day stall and did not make my Nov.1st goal of being being in One-derland so I am sitting at 206 right now but my clothes are getting pretty baggy on me so I went tonight to get one pair of pants and got to shop in the REGULAR size ladies dept! No trek upstairs to WOMAN'S or PLUS for me! I bought a size 18 it felt so good! After 20 years! JCPenneys is also have a huge clearance sale so I also got a second pair of Liz Claiborne docker style pants for .70 cents! Might want to check it out if you are like me and not wanting to invest in clothes until you are closer to goal!

    Thanksgiving Day Challenge

Love these challenges! I have goals for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. I'll be revising the other two based on this one. Pre-surgery Wt: 235.8 Surgery 7/9/12 Weight at Surgery: 208.5 Current Weight: 166.4 (bouncing around this week) Challenge Goal: 155 Aggressive, but I've got a plan For NSV, Water and Protein will be my focus. Also continuing to work out 6 days a week. Good luck to us all!
  5. I have a lot of tricker treaters, plus my 3 grandkids come over. My house smells like chocolate. Grandkids, daughter & son in law stuffing their faces with chocolate. Good thing, I send all leftovers home with them. None for me! Also made hubby a pizza, next fave after chocolate and none of that either. So Halloween turned out as a NSV for me. PS put on a pair if 18 pants too, yay!

I guess my update was lost this morning. Ladybandido- I too do so much better when I'm off the sugar. It's easier said than done, for sure. I just do need to get back to strictly eating. I appreciate your kind words, and you all are so inspirational to me- I know I can post my struggles and get support and care, that's why I'm here! Nicole- yay for the NSV! I saw a lady at the Y wearing gorgeous brown boots up to her knees and I thought, "I could wear those too!" Such a good feeling. I have some reading to do about my diet. I have all these books that I never read about diet, whatever, because I knew I wasn't committed enough to actually make a change in my diet. Now that I've had some success I think I can get my butt back in gear and get going again and some of this advice will make an impact. Sugar really is bad for you, ya know? Nicki
  7. Hi Friends! Just thought I would share, I hit a big NSV this morning when my "goal jeans" fit! Not only fit, but they're comfy!! 15 more lbs to go to my weight goal, but these jeans are FIVE sizes smaller than what I normally wear.

Well my update is I finally made it past 190, I was 189.7 for a whole day, now I am back up to 194, but it felt good to know I can do it. I do have a great NSV One of my goals was to be able to wear knee high boots that did not come from LB or Avenue. So I bought these great boots that felt a little loose I wore them for a full day and was shocked how loose they were, Well I looked at the box when I got home and they were "wide calf" so totally deflated I took them back and asked to try on a normal pair and the fit!!! I love NSVs!!
  9. I had a huge nsv this week i hit the 170s!! havnt seen that for 10 years or so, so i decided to go shopping for new cloths. I exchanged one problem or another! Before I hated shopping because nothing fit and i felt fat to I liked everything and can't afforded all of it. . I'm wearing a size 10/12 and a medium shirt now. I did a little happy dance in the dressing room.

    Nsv - So Excited!

    Great job! love reading NSV
  11. Saw my dr today . I no longer have diabetes and have lost 60 lbs. I need to deal with the emotional and psychological stuff around eating . I have started eating chocolate and potato chips. I made an appointment with a psychologist that deals with eating disorders. Feeling a bit disheartened. (I really don't want to do the work to eat better., feeling sorry for myself. Need to pray for willingness.)

  15. So a few weeks ago I posted that I would be taking a business trip this week and was hoping that I had lost enough weight to no longer need the seat belt extender. I am happy to say that I DID NOT NEED IT! Not only that but there was 5-6 inches of belt left! I usually ask the flight attendant before finding my seat for the extender. I made the decision to not ask this time. I felt pretty sure that I might not need it but I was prepared to ask for it if I needed to. I sat down and easily put it on. I just sat there and cried. With tears rolling down my face, I called my husband to share my excitement with him. He just said over and over, "I am so proud of you.". I flew back this morning with such comfort. I used the tray in front of me for my beverage (couldn't do that before) and even crossed my legs for a while. I am floating on a cloud!

    Self Acceptance

And I don't have far to come! It takes a long time to see yourself differently. Even now at times I see myself still at 256! Look for NSVs. Like getting into and out of the car, a booth in a restaurant. squeezing through spaces I did not think I would fit! You are doing great girl!

  18. Awesome NSV today! For the first time in 20 some odd years, I tried on a size large in pants and they fit! They were sweatpants and a mens large, but still!!! Last winter I was wearing a mens 3X-4X in sweats and now I am in a large! Wooohooo!!!

    Nsv

So this weekend was my niece's quincenera and it was a great time. For the first time i wasn't the miserable lady sitting watching everyone else look good. I felt and looked better than i had in a long time! On top of that i was able to enjoy some of the food at the reception and feel satisfied. Overall best time I have had in a long time.

  23. Well after going to the bathroom, I pulled my underwear up and notice they kept going, and going and going until they covered my breast. I thought it was so hilarious, I modeled it for my sisters and told them it was a new product called the underbra!!! It looks like a horrible cotton swimsuit. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
