Also everything is relative. And again they remove 75%-85% of your stomach. Even if for some reason they "accidentally" made it bigger, youre still looking at a stomach thats drastically smaller no matter what, meaning the surgery would still work and youd lose a ton of weight. But forget that line of thinking, it wont help you or do you any favors Presumably your wife isnt a 6'1 man with a large frame. So it would make sense for her stomach to be different from yours, and her daily caloric intake should be much smaller than yours as well. I think getting the diet in order should be your #1 goal though. Maybe talk to the therapist as well, but I think you need to be making better food choices and developing strong habits while the surgery is fresh. Also I dont remember seeing it, but hows your protein intake ? Because not all greek yogurts are protein rich, and I know tomato soup sure aint. Its a learning process and youre going through a ton of change I get that. But you also have a rare and golden opportunity to make lifelong changes to help make your life better. Give it all you got while its fresh, this is the best time to do it

I am about 3 weeks our and protein shakes are almost making me gag. I'm going to try putting Okois yogurt and skim milk in a blender with maybe a quarter cup of protein shake. Hoping that will do it. I also wonder if I am able to eat too much. I can eat about 4-5 Tb ff refried beans thinned with broth. So weird to think that may be too much! Still trying to figure out what it feels like to be "full." Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

After RNY, I had sf hello only for a week while on liquids. I would think chocolate syrup and Ff milk would be too high in sugars! How long do you need this stuff. Would Greek yogurt be a substitute for pudding?

Does your surgeon's office offer a nutritionist or any support? Talk to them. I agree, you need filling food. If Greek yogurt is convenient for you, add some flax meal or chia seeds. How is your water intake? At least 64 oz per day? Find Dr Duc Vuong on Facebook so many free videos and he also has sleeveacademy.com check that out I would also think if you aren't chewing food, maybe that act is causing you to be hungry I find when I have all the same texture, I'm not as satisfied

Clear liquid diets consist of see-though, clear liquids (read: clear juice without pulp, water, broth, jello, tea, etc). Full liquid diets consist of liquids you cannot see through (read: milk, shakes, strained soups, yogurt, pudding, gravies, thinned oatmeal, thinned cream of wheat, sherbet). -

So, I am just focusing on getting enough liquid in the next few days. Will reevaluate at the end of the week, because I am not itching to start puree: the only things on the list that appeal to me are runny scrambled eggs and yogurt. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
Janet610 replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also was told I drinking 30 min before and 30 after which is a challenge cause I want to drink, yet struggle the rest of the day to get my liquids in... crazy. im eating more solid foods, turkey burger for dinner last night with a small amount of fat free cheese. I manage about 3.5 oz burger and a few soft veggies. Takes about 35 min to eat that. going to a support meeting wed so I'm looking for ideas because the dr said to eat low fat, low sugar others say watch carbs but the yogurt recommended in my plan is cannon Greek triple zero but has 15g carbs which I thought was kind of high. So im sticking to the lean turkey for burgers, egg beaters with fat free ham for now until I can figure out how to be more creative without blowing the fat or carb count! -
My sleeve is too big
Introversion replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Why are you eating three Greek yogurts in one sitting? Just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should. Anyhow, back to the question at hand...Greek yogurt is considered a thickened liquid consistency, like pudding thick. Campbell's tomato soup is a liquid. Liquids don't challenge the sleeved stomach. In other words, they slide past the stomach into the small intestine without activating stretch receptors, so they don't trigger a sense of fullness. I could consume a gallon of soup without feeling full because it's 'sliding.' You won't feel fullness until you attempt to eat animal-based protein such as chicken breasts, steak, pork chops, etc. I guarantee you won't be able to eat three chicken breasts. -

4 days out need help
XYZXYZXYZ1955 replied to faithlove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check to see if they gave you a list--I was given detailed paperwork on post-op diet phases. Probably, however, you can have yogurt and cream soups and sugar-free pudding. And oh, so many protein shakes . . . -
I'm allowed 6 oz for meals (sometimes finish half then the other half as a snack) and 2 snacks at like 2-3 oz each. Usually cottage cheese with fresh pineapple or some Greek yogurt. I give myself 900 calories. Dietician said that's a fine max. Every once in a while I go a little over but usually I'm under.

Chicken too early dangerous?
KateBruin replied to SippinAintEasy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just started the soft food/puree phase when I was 15 days out. I'm allowed tuna salad, chicken and egg salad, runny scrambled egg, sweet potato. So far I've been mostly having chicken salad and tuna salad for my meals. Dinner was TJs reduced guilt chicken salad (I think it has a couple naughty ingredients like shredded carrots but in tiny amounts) and 2 oz of sweet potato. I also put small chopped pickle in my tuna salad to make it interesting. Also naughty but works so far and tastes yummy. Double check it isn't included. UCLA's food schedule seems to be one of the most strict and like I said I can have chicken salad. Not chicken by itself but finely chopped soft chicken and plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo. Also allowed soft fish among other things. Soft fruits like banana and cantaloupe. -

You might want to cut out the drinkable yogurt (high sugar count) make your own with fruit-Greek yogurt 0% and unsweetened almond milk and swap electrolyte water or protein water in place of Gatorade.... that will drop your calorie intake significantly
-
Personally, from this list, I would have consumed the greek yogurt (plain), and protein shakes (if I could have stood them). The rest is pretty much trash. BUT, as long as you KNOW it's trash, and it's only temporary to get through this phase, then that's all right. I don't care about calories during the first 8 weeks.. I care about meeting the protein goals, and trying to learn how to read labels to tell which foods have the right nutrient "profile", and which ones don't. For example, go to the yogurt section of your store. Some yogurts have, I don't know... 5g of protein and 40g carbohydrate. Totally unacceptable! Another yogurt has 13g protein and 10g carbs.. that one I'd put in my cart. It takes time and work. But, doesn't everything that's worth doing?

Still struggle with binging mindset
Little Green replied to Monasmle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Great post, @Monasmle! I really appreciate you sharing how you got through that struggle. I totally understand the feeling you were having during that 3-hour back and forth with yourself. Oftentimes I experience this around lunchtime b/c I used to eat fast food lunch every single day and of course I am pre-op so if I wanted to I definitely could eat it, no problem. I fight with myself and end up waiting hours to eat until I am finally hungry enough that nuts or cheese or yogurt sounds tasty lol. I think I'll try to incorporate your tactic next time. -

How much can you eat in puréed stage?
lessoflilo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everybody! I was just wondering what your day looks like during te puréed stage. How much can you eat in a sitting; Ive been doing 2 tablespoons of protein (ie: tuna blended with Greek yogurt) and 2 tablespoons (or less) of mashed potato. I feel I could eat more. I don't want to overeat. I also don't know when I'm full. How do you know you are full? Thank you in advance! -
I had mine on Wednesday morning, I would have gone to work today if I hadn't already turned in my time card. The only issue I have is when I sneeze, blow my nose or getting in and out of bed. My left side where they put the drain and the pump is very sore. I guess it is like having a hernia. They gave me some oxycodone and it knocks down the pain pretty well. I can't believe I am no longer hungry, Tomorrow, I get to add Greek Yogurt and cream soups and protein shakes back to my diet.
