I AM HERE !!!! It has been slow, but life gets busy for all of us at different times! insub GREAT NSV!! I know it must have been a comfort to sit in the plane this time. Just think, this is the beginning! Now you are going to make it even smaller next time! dawng I never heard about the insurance making you wait. I would ask they give you a big fill! If you have a 5cc band, I would ask for 3cc and if you have a 10cc band, 5-6cc. Or like Stef said if you have to wait long, a 1 or 2cc will be nothing! I am sorry you are struggling. I had to wait due to the NP schedule 7 weeks, which was frustrating to me, so I know you are dealing with a lot of stress over it. Hang in there. You are almost there. suzzzie I plan to make your meatballs tonight for dinner. I will let you know how it goes!

Well I ate 3 tacos last night for supper, and I was able to eat a whole breakfast burrito from McD's this morning, so I think I'll go for that 3rd fill next week, what'd'ya think?? I've heard if you can eat breakfast that you are not tight enough. I had a NSV?? Is that what ya'll call it? I put on a T-shirt this morning and I didn't even have to stretch the Hell out of it like I usually do! It just hung nicely, not snug, whoo hoo!

No you are not a thread killer. I totally can relate. I have done well, but I am hunger most of the day depending on what time of the month it is. Today I was starving - is was 2:30 and I hadn't had lunch. I was out so I pulled in to McDonalds - I ordered a chicken nugget kids meal and forgot to ask for apples instead of fries. So of course instead of not eating them, I shoved 2 in my mouth immediately. I got through about 1/2 a nugget and thought I was going to have to pull over and PB. I managed to hold it down, was in pain and STILL hungry. I had a NSV today, but also a very sad realization. I needed new pants because I am walking around holding mine up all the time like those kids that walk around with their pants hanging and their hands on their crotch! I went to Dress Barn and picked up a 20W - but was surprised to find I really needed an 18W (I started at a tight 32W). That of course is wonderful, until I looked at my legs in the full length mirror - YUCK! Unless I can afford a thigh lift, I will never be able to wear a swimsuit or shorts above the knee again. Maybe if I could get my butt in gear and exercise, I could make some improvement, but that is so hard for me! I hope everyone can get back on track in the new year. It is a daily battle for me to make good choices and I often don't, Thank goodness I can't overeat anything! Well I can eat chocolate pudding with brownies I found out - but I am not a sweets eater and only want chocolate about once a month.

All of my December sleevers...

Non scale victories are just as good, if not better, than the weight loss pounds. This is a journey and we are not in a race. Just keep eating your protein, getting in your water and the loss will follow. I am one pound away from 60 pounds but I have lots of NSV that I experience everyday that keep me going. -
Georgia... WTG!!!! I knew you could do it! That is an excellent time! I'm so happy for you! You are going to rock this race in Nov. Bea... excellent speed! You're going to be so fast you'll be a blurrr going by! Keep it up. I agree with the NSV... the energy and non-huffing is so great!

Hahaha...DH says I'm not allowed to run outside anymore, lol. I think it will be a little while before I attempt that again. Clumbsiness runs in my family... Great NSV Kathy!! Must feel absolutely fabulous! Welcome back, we missed you!

What a great NSV moment for both of you! To weigh less than your DH... I have to get down another 50lbs to get there! I hope I do someday, but if not, that's ok. Camping... I love it! When I was a kid and teenager we'd go every weekend. I'm such an outdoor nut. there is nothing better than waking up and having a cup of coffee outside in the crisp morning air! When DH and I were dating, I convinced him to go camping with me. He's a big city guy, and had never been camping before. So this was big for him. Once we got the tent set up and the campsite arranged, I suggested we go on a hike. He then started to put stuff back in his car and got out a padlock to "lock the tent". I started laughing so hard... and I still laugh to this day about it! Lock the tent. He was freaked out all weekend thinking someone was going to rob or murder us! He eventually got used to it and we would go camping about 2-3 times a year until Sarah came along. She needs too much constant supervision for tent camping for now. DH would absolutely love to have a trailer... with all the conviences - kitchen, bathroom, bed, and AC!!! Have to admit... sounds much better than the hard ground! I completed my run for today. It felt great! I planned a route in the park that included a really big hill. Just as I crested the hill (and made it!!!) another woman was starting down the hill. She saw the great big smile on my face, and smiled back. She then lifted her hand and we exchanged high 5's. Now that was a moment that I'll never forget! Had to share!

Yea Kathy!!! I went back and read this weekends posts and saw the pictures. I am so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 5K is a little over a month - I am not ready, but I will be by then. Hi Fanny! Welcome and congratulations on your run! It is so much easier for me with music and going outside. I think the treadmill bored me - and I also got stuck at week 4. Find your niche - what works for you. I love the way I feel after I run - there's nothing that beats it! Renewed - I'm glad to hear ya'll had fun this past weekend! I took the kids to the mall and bought some books - I did pretty good staying on plan. I went jeans shopping Friday at lunch too....Did I mention I love Kohl's...I'm addicted to that place. I only bought one pair of jeans (16 Misses in Levi's) I'm so excited. I did buy two long sleeve shirts (L/XL) for fall - I only had 2x & 3x left in my closet - they are way too big! Gotta love NSV's. Boy this is turning into a LONG post...LOL...I have to catch up though. Lyn - you are too funny - LOL...my music: Shook Me - AC/DC Gimmie Two Steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd Some Beach - Blake Shelton Crazy - Aerosmith Welcome to the Jungle - Guns & Roses Jump - Van Halen Doctor Feelgood - Motley Crue Beautiful - Christina Agulerra Bitch - Can't remember that girls name...LOL Sweet Child of Mind - Guns & Roses All Summer Long - Kidd Rock Moulin Rogue - (collaboration - Pink, Christina, etc.) Walk this Way - Aerosmith Ironic - Alanis Morisette Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie Mama said knock you out - LL Cool J Umbrella - Rihanna Fly - Sugar Ray Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cindy Lauper Can you tell I like the 80's & 90's....some 70's music too!

Carol... CONGRATULATIONS!!! I knew you could run farther! 34 min is great! Sorry about your friend, but again, great NSV to use running as the way to deal with an issue! MacMadam... you are so dedicated. Plus a full Olympic length Tri... that's a great goal! Suzanne... I have the same problem. I can run without any knee problems, but riding a bike or climbing stairs kills me. I have arthritis in both knees, but my right is the worst. I literallly have to climb stairs with the left leading each step. Going down in bad too... I lead with the right then. When I'm running outside and I hit stairs, my momentum sometimes makes the stairs do-able, but not always. I haven't been on a bike in years, so don't know how I'd do. But an exercise bike is out of the question, so I assume that a bike is too. My guess is the strain on my ligaments and joints in the circular motion is too much with the arthritic damage done to my knees. Ok, day 4 of my strength/cardio schedule, and all is well. I almost blew off the lower body workout last night, but pushed myself to do it. Glad I did. On Tuesday I went out for a run... the plan was to go for just a short run, but I got into it so much that I did almost 6k. It felt great! I also broke my race record time for the 5k portion. When I got home, I had such a runner's high going all night! Oh Yeah!!!

Oh yeah... I had to share this amazing NSV... As you know I've just started my new job. No one there knows me from before... so who they see today is the new, smaller me. I can already tell there is no overweight predjudice happening. They don't see me as overweight at all. I'm basically normal. It was surreal. Its like I have no baggage from the old me. Really a great feeling!

My EVLT went well this moring. Not much pain, but I do expect to bruise some. To my suprise, the doctor said that I could go ahead and run if I felt up to it. So I think I'll work on Week 4 Day 1 tomorrow. By the way, I have a pair of thigh high support hose. At least I don't have to pull the panty hose up on both legs and the stomach. I do not think I could even breath with that on my stomach. Bonnie - I ordered a pair of extended calf boots last winter, but I could not wear them because my legs were to big. I decided to go ahead and keep them since I was losing weight. The other day I was in my closet and happen to spot them. I tried them on and they were actually to big in the calfs (NSV) You never know, you might be able to wear tall boots this coming winter.

I haven't talked with Leslie. I hope she is doing well with it. Be sure and let me know how she's doing. Good luck at the weigh in!!! Congrats my buddy!! Great job!! I had a feeling you would be running again tonight, lol! Great NSV Sugarbean! It's amazing how much can in such a short amount of time. Good job!
-
Leslie, that sounds so fun! DH and I took the youth group from church there a couple of months ago and played laser tag. It was sooooo fun. Wonderful NSV! Bet it felt great!! Oh, I have a good one too. I officially weigh less than DH! I am thrilled because I have weighed more than him for almost ten years. Granted, he is a lot taller than me, but still....I WEIGH LESS!!! HAHAHA I can say that to ya'll, lol. I would never rub it in his face like that though. It's just nice to be able to share this kinda stuff with ya'll.
-
Renewed.... Way to go!!!! Leslie... Thanks! As for the kids growing up... oh its hard somedays! But growing out of Spongebob would be GREAT!!! Unfortunately, my DH loves it too! As for coffee... I have a love affair with coffee. If I had to give it up like I did for pop, I'd have ended up hospitalized and drooling!! LOL. Its not the caffine... I don't care if it has it or not. I just love the taste and the warm beverage. It's my one splurge... I have it with light cream! Aclubb... congrats on the 20min run! You rock! It is so strange, but we have all felt the same thing... I love to run and I love how it makes me feel. Keep it up! I'm down 2-1/2 lbs this week! I'm so thrilled. Almost to onederland! Haven't been there in 20+ years, and then only briefly! My NSV for today... I went window shopping and tried on some clothes. I had to ask for a smaller size... twice!!! And when I put on the outfit, I realized that I actually have bones in my shoulders! Its not just a rounded softness from my neck to my arms. There are actual bones and angles!!! LOL! In the dressing room, I kept poking and feeling around my shoulders... they've been hidden for so long! Another NSV... I ran into a woman I used to work with, and hadn't seen her since March. She kept going on and on about how "healthy" I look. That felt really good. She said I looked strong!

I don't look like "me" anymore... and I'm ok with that!
sleevemom88 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 16 months out and down 140 lbs. I went from 334 to 194 and LOVE IT! It has been brought to my attention that I no longer look like the woman I used to be. Some say I look younger, others say it looks like it could be my sister but definitely not me.. I love it! I feel like a different person too. There are so many things I can do that I never did before (as I sit with my knees to my chest on the couch comfortably while typing this... ummm can you say MAJOR NSV?????) I would like to lose another 10 lbs or so but I am totally happy where I am now. Feel free to share your face to face pictures below!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Sarahjane79 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So, total NSV! I climbed a huge dune at Sleeping Bear national dunes a few hours north of me in Michigan. Would have NEVER attempted it 4 months and +76 lbs ago. I was so proud of myself I had to call my dad as soon as I got to the top! You can barely see, but that's me at the top! Wooo! -
Good for you SJ! Hooray for NSVs to keep us going! My odd NSV this week has been on a few separate occasions having a panic attack while driving because I thought I wasn't wearing my insulin pump. I remove it to change clothes and a few times over the 10+ years I have had them have actually forgotten it at home when I run errands. I guess it doesn't dig into my sides like it used to and I'm more comfortable when sitting. It's one of those funny little things you don't notice until its not there anymore.

Hello everyone, glad to see there a still a few familiar names around. It took me a few months but finally got the new app on my phone. It seems as of everyone is doing well and hitting those milestones both on and of the scale. Congrats everyone. I reached onederland in November and am 1 pound away from 100 lost. It feels really good :-). The nsv's are also lots of fun. Some examples are: going horseback riding and getting on and of by myself shopping in regular stores (although it was really hard at first, I walked out of many stores because I was so intimidated and didn't know where to start! ) much more energy joints that don't hurt first pair of knee high boots much lighter suitcase when going on holiday buying a really cute sun dress off a vendor on the beach That's about it for now. Keep up the good work.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
DivaStyleCoach replied to mljalways's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning and Happy New Year to all Notorious Novembers! Scheduled for my first fill tomorrow morning - I'll check in and let y'all know how it goes. I am at a 'Center of Excellence' bariatric office (affilated with Yale University) so I'm hoping for an easy appointment with no (or very little) pain. The holidays weren't great - not bad, but not great. I did make it to the gym 6 times during my 'off' period. My office shut down from Dec 23 through Jan 5. I also did some snow shoveling and other stuff to try and keep busy. Had a NSV (non scale victory) on Jan 2nd. Went dancing with my hubby (swing band we love) and at the end of the night, even after dancing my shoes off - no knee pain! This despite the fact that I was wearing high heels and we danced a LOT. Looking forward to a fill, though - I feel like I've gained a few pounds since before the holiday and I definately don't want to go back to where I was pre-surgery! -

You're gaining muscle and losing fat! Muscle weighs more than fat. Have you taken your measurements? It's a great NSV. -

From Bridesmaids dress NSV to Band Slippage and repair surgery all in the blink of an eye. Well folks the results are in and my band has slipped which I knew when I was having heartburn, but my surgeon thought that an unfill would allow it to repair iteself. Well no such luck, just left her office and the band is still out of place and the only way to fix it is with SURGERY. So here we go again. She gave me the option to take it out, if I was happy with my weight loss so far. I was like are you fricken kidding me?!?!? I'm happy with the weight I've lost but I am far from done. ABSOLUTLEY NO REMOVAL! REPAIR REPAIR REPAIR! So now comes the waiting game of ins approval and availability on her schedule. If I had it my way I'd be in surgury tommmorw. I'm like lets get this show on the road and get this thing fixed and get the scale moving. Wish me luck. In the mean time I will try to keep on making beter food choice and hitting the gym like a mad woman! -
i never thought i would get to post using nsv as the title but here it is!!! first off you newbies just need to be patient remember i am over 2 years out!!! i have not gone a day this week without someone, and usually more than more person, remarking on all the weight i have lost!!! finally people are noticing, up until now i could tell people could see something was different but usually they would commit on my hair or something like that, now they see it is weight not hairstyle that has change!!! Hey y'all, Just checking in from VA. Dr. H took some out of my band right before I came home 3 weeks ago, I can eat anything now. But believe it or not, I've lost 2lbs (and thats with the shoes on!) I'm much more active than I am during school though, I hope I can keep it up. I had a nsv this week...I ran a 7 minute mile on the elliptical! I started out at 14 minute mile in Feb! I also ran a little over 6 miles on Tuesday. It's so amazing that I can move!!!!! :rolleyes2:

thanks for the update. It is hard to eat breakfast. The scales have been bad to me lately. I am definitely eating smaller meals, wish i could eat salad. Cant seem to chew it up enough. Way to go on the NSV ! You gotta be dropping pounds soon with that workout. Keep motivating us.
