    For Just Us Guys

:clap2:I had a NSV already that almost had me doing cartwheels this morning. Being only 2 weeks post op but I am thrilled. I know it sounds lame but its big to me. I was acutally able to buy clothes at Wal-mart and they fit. It was the largest size they carry, 3X mens, but none the less it fits. It has bugged me for years to not be able to buy what I call yard clothes or play clothes like tee shirst and stuff from discount stores like Wallyworld and such. Just seems so unfair I have to go to a speciality store to buy a tee-shirt to mow the yard in and pay like $15; now I can get them for $7. So anyway, it was a huge victory for me this morning!

Apples - I was expecting your basic NSV story but WOW you surprised me, glad I was not drinking Water when I read that:biggrin: Cathy - Congrats! My daughter and 1 YO GD live with me and it is wonderful though I also could have handled wedding bells before booties:blush: Long - You are still losing, just keep it up you are doing great! Strike - We are thinking about you and have high hopes for your move and your next fill:thumbup: I have more restriction since my 2nd fill and have started losing again so I feel as though I am one of the lucky ones that finds that restriction early. I am sure I will want another fill in a month or so but I am happy for now.

Good Morning Junies.. Back to work and the daily grind. We had a great weekend camping! I really needed some down time. I am burnt but relaxed! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I wanted to share a NSV.. I got whistled at 2 times and I got a "hot damn" from a homeless man on friday. I was pretty excited! LOL.. it's the little things in life!

    Daily News!

good morning junies.. Strike.. woo hoo on your nsv. You rock sister friend! Long.. good luck with your knee today! Congrats on getting out of your plateau! I go and weigh in on Friday and I am hoping all this hard work at the gym is going to pay off! The award dinner went great and we met alot of really nice people. We didnt' get home until 10 ugh and I am usually in bed by 9! My boss asked if I would if he needed me to train a girl to take my place since I won't go part time. I told him I would (i know Im a sucker) but told him to remember the last 4 girls we had do this job in the past 5 years and how messed up it was! I started in inside sales and there was 12 people working here. In 5 years we are down to 5 people and I do the job of inside sales, purchasing, a/r, a/p, office manager and a smidge of outside sales. He has no idea how this office is run or even how to do any of it! Sure I will train a girl for a week or two and see what happens! LOL.. I am sure I will be back working in no time. I have just put all this stress in God's hands. I just gave it up to him and realized he has only ever opened doors for me not closed them. Every time something bad has happened I have been soo devastated only to have something better happen because of it. So I am holding on for the ride! Have a great day Junies!

    Daily News!

Good morning Junies. Well I was able to get a fill yesterday WOOHOO.. I am now super restricted.. just where I like it lol.. but I am coming down with something. In the past couple of years I haven't been sick at all but in the past 6 months I have been sick quite a few times. Makes me think that I am just not getting enough vitamins or something. I have today and tomorrow of straight liquids then 2 days of mushies.. woo hoo LOL.. Addy, I guess I misunderstood what you were saying as well. Wow, I have no idea why you aren't losing faster. Just out of curiousity I keep seeing that there seems to be a difference in how fast you lose with different bands.. I had no idea what band I even had but i asked after I saw Cathy say she had the realize and was told you lose slower with that band. I have the allergen(sp?). The good news though is your skin wont be as saggy when you lose slower. But the better news is as Lucy said.. without this band you wouldn't be losing at all and in fact you might have gained, without the band I definetly would have gained especially over the holidays. I had a really great nsv today. I had a private message on here and this lady said that she hopes to look like me after she is banded. I have to say that is one of the best compliments ever! 7 months ago I didn't want to look like me and now to have someone want to in such a short time is friggin awesome! Have a great day Junies.. xoxo

yesterdays NSV - I was able to buy a few items of clothes at a physical Old Navy store because I didn't need plus size . Today, I realized I needed to go and exchange a couple sweaters because they're too large! So I was able to buy XL sweaters! (even though I know ON runs large, still excited).

I actually have a medical restriction at work that states I am not allowed to use any ladders that are not rated for greater than 350 pounds. I always check to make sure it will hold me, but it is strange that it is a restriction on my record. When that is removed, it will be both an NSV and a scale victory!

A couple of NSV this past week... 1. Fit into my old favorite bathing suits (size 12s & 14s) - Was able to retire my "new" big girl suits for my old fashionable ones 2. Bought a appropriate US size (#'d) Harley Davidson capris (reality, they were US size 12/14 - and must've been UK sizing) a couple years back and they never fit.... tried them on for giggles the other day and they buttoned 3. tried on a pair of old jean capri's today - haven't been able to wear in 3 years.... FIT....:D

First NSV - Looked at my poor bruised (blood thinner injections), scarred, and stretchmarked stomach and apron and felt sorry for them instead of angry with then for the first time. Reclaimed them as part of me rather than the disgusting traitors and have begun moisturising and looking after them along with my other overlapping and swinging bulgy bits. Accepted they'll still be there albeit deflated, so may's well be at peace with them :-) HW: 263 SW: 256 (21st Jan) CW: 238 Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  19. Sleeved on the 13th and doing great. Like Karen74 I was losing a couple pounds a day up front but that has slowed as I expected it would. I'm still losing although slower which is fine for me. I know i'm dropping weight and that's what's important. I didn't gain 2lbs a day so I don't expect to keep up that pace in losing it. Between pre-op and post op I'm down 46lbs which is a ton more than I could have done on my own in this period of time. I'm seeing plenty of NSV's and couldn't be happier.

    October 2022 surgery support

Hey everyone, here's my update: Surgery was 10/11. I was 259.8 (heaviest weight) right before I started my 1 week preop diet. Down to 248 right before surgery. Current weight is 219. I'm now on a regular diet since week 6 (currently week 7 since Tuesday). I can only tolerate about 3-5 bites before I'm too full. I eat 4-5 times a day to get my protein in and prevent myself from getting sick due to my stomach being "too empty". I'm averaging about 500-700 calories a day most days. I still struggle to slow down when eating, especially if I've waited too long to eat. Work in progress. I have started back the gym this week. I have made a goal of doing a 5k in the spring, and I have gotten a trainer to help me until I get situated and comfortable around the gym. I had the dreaded 3 week stall. It lasted 3 weeks. Broke this week. I think the gym helped. I still struggle to get my fluids in. However, I feel great. I have turned the corner and gained energy. My mood is better as well. I have decided to take a weekend trip somewhere (that part is not decided) as a reward for getting into Onderland when I get there. My reward for going to the gym 4x a week for the next 2 weeks is a new pair of shoes (I really need them because my shoes have gotten too big since the weightloss, its a bonus to use them as a reward though). My NSV: I can put on my shoes without wanting to be taken out by a sniper. My back pain and knee pain are gone (I hadn't had the pain long though, so it went away quickly versus someone who had longer chronic pain). I have energy and smile more!

    Just broke into 10's!!!!!!

:D Thanks my peeps!!! Just enjoying the losing weight, and for once I feel like I can keep it off too. I'm lovin it!!! I told my hubby I want to get the girls done as soon as I hit goal. Everything else can wait awhile. I guess that's why I haven't even thought about getting any smaller shirts than mediums now. I doubt with the size I want I will be able to fit into smalls. Aaaanyway, here's another NSV... it's my TOM and I haven't really gained any weight (haven't lost either but oh well!!!). I'm keeping myself under control as much as I can. I blew it last time and didn't want to do that again. I'm almost out of it, so hopefully I can race to get to my Easter goal with time to spare!!! :D

Well I got back to my fill clinic today, and once again they made hamburger out of my stomach--couldn't access the port. She got me in at the hospital in less than 10 minutes, and an MD came in and got me under fluoro. It was very cool to see a needle sticking in my port on the monitor for the first time. Didn't see my band. It took some time---guess the port is deep and I'm "fleshy" ::::gasp:::: but finally he got in and took out 1cc. I tell you I have never been so grateful in my life! I spent last night with soup broth coming up through my nose at 3am waking me up out of a sound sleep---soup I had eaten at 11pm. Water, fuhgedaboudit...I pb'd it. After the fill came out, I finally could swallow and feel the water trickle down. I went to eat and had a small turkey dinner. As long as I could eat very slow, tiny bites, and chew, I could get it down with no pain. It was amazing. I learned something, I believe this to be true, the pouch doesn't hold the food for 2-3 hours as I've read, the reduced stoma size only slows the food down. This may be true in my case, some say their pouch is full. My skull, neck, shoulders, temples, gut, ribs, intestines...you name it...are completely wracked out. I feel like I got run over by a truck. I felt sorry for myself but I'm getting over it. LOL I finally peed about 7:00 pm and it was dark orange. Sorry for the gorey details, but I know some of you will appreciate it. I must be the kind of person that has to whacked up the side of the head to finally get it. Big duh moment. I wanted lockdown, I got it....never again. My 3 new resolutions....I had some time today on the road to think about this, and I had my friend with me so I said this outloud. Paying pennance. LOL #1 get on my eliptical trainer every morning, no excuses #2 no more night time eating/testing...after dinner, nothing but herb tea #3 no more buying candy...I won't even go into the aisle My weight drop in the last few days...got into the 30's yay...is due to dehydration and not eating for 4 day, but someone said you never post gains, right, so I'm keeping it. Oh, I haven't been this weight in 18 years. I got my first real comment today.....that I was starting to look good. Not just losing. Looking GOOD. I got out a tub of summer clothes that I forgot about and all but about 3 tanks and 2 shirts (stretchy) are too big. That's my NSV. Another one I have is it's so much easier to turn over in bed. I love that! WTG Safari! You can do it. Think of me blurry eyed on my ET every morning....I'm with ya! Amy, kudos to you on your personal choice. One thing you can almost guarantee yourself is if you follow the rules, you won't put the 44# back on. Big, I'm so sorry about your aunt. Everyone else, keep going for it!

I don't get the squirrel picture posted by Stef. ("You are awesome if you get this picture"). BUT, I just LOVED the one (for Insub's NSV, I think) with Ricky Gervais that said "You are awesome!" He TOTALLY cracks me up! ~Toni

Janine - Yes little one is almost 5 (Oct 8th) and a 15 year old. Wasn't planned that way, we started trying a lot sooner, but we lost 2 and I had fertility issues of course with PCOS and obesity. My wonderful OB/GYN gave me Glucaphage. It worked to straighten me out, so I had a regular period, but it wasn't until I went off of everything for a couple months after giving up that I got pregnant. I think I had 5 or 6 sonograms in the 1st trimester just to make sure she was growing. CONGRATS on the weight loss! Man I hate my band! Not really but why is it so frustrating NOT to be able to eat as much as you want! I know that is the point of the band and I am very happy about my restriction. But it still PI**es me off some days! NSV - I keep trying to scoot my car seat up. It won't go any farther, but I feel like I am far away from the wheel! LOL I am and that is a good thing, since it used to rub every time I turned the wheel.
