I got mine one wk after surgery n I'm not going to eat anything until this stomach is healed!!!! U don't know weather the pressure u gotta make is going to Make u throw up, like i got dizzy n nauseous, or hurt your belly more or what!!! Owwwwwwww. Don't rush to get off liquids people cuz I can inly imagine what lies ahead. No joke. It comes with the territory though. Btw Gas can b so bad at times it makes u moan sweat cry squirm n pray. Walk walk walk daily. Just being honest. -
My post op info stated by week 5 I could return to sexual activity if I felt up to it. I broke that guideline and week three resumed some activity taking it very slowly. I didn't worry about having an "O" that first week because i was afraid how all the tightening up would feel on my tummy. This week (week 4) things are back to normal, I am not going crazy mind you but things feel normal. I did however leave my tummy covered, those incisions just are not so hot lol. sorry for the tmi

I have a question. I was told when I had my UGI that I had a very small dilation. I asked if it was because I ate too much or did anything else I shouldn't of. I was told no. I asked if they were going to remove fluid and was told no, everything was going down fine and that it was very slight. I wasn't even told to go on liquids...just that I was progressing nicely and my weight loss is good and that in fact the fluid was moving through so well that I probably could actual use a slight fill (but they wouldn't do it because of the heartburn and reflux). To this day, I still struggle with heartburn and occasional nightly reflux and lots of burping (most of this is the week before my period...sorry if TMI, but I get alot tighter then). Do you all think I should press this issue?? Is the dilation getting better/worse/the same? Am I hurting myself? I don't want to have any fluid taken out, but I don't want to hurt myself and potentually lose my band! have you ever heard of doing nothing for a slight dilation? Just any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Where are the November Sleevers?
Dreamingofhealth replied to ToccoraVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well and haven't had any major issues. How have the progression through the different food stages been? For me, I haven't had too many problems aside from acid/burning stomach but I've been prescribed more acid reducing meds, and I'm much better!! One thing I find crazy is I have so so so much gas... like all the time. Not necessarily painful but I'm constantly tooting lol (sorry if this is TMI) I was just wondering if any of you have been experiencing the same thing? It's the weirdest thing ever.... to me anyway. If anyone has insight as to why I'm experiencing this much gas that would be awesome. I was sleeved November 26th and so far it's been good! I hope you all are doing well! Sheena :-) -
My new best friend. Just wondering, what do you all take to prevent constipation???? I need to add a Fiber supplement but don't know what to take, Recommendations??? Jackie

?question....... ?might Be Tmi But Have To Ask
grayeybeauty posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok I'm 12 weeks out and I feel awesome lost 53lbs so far...nothing bothers me I can eat whatever I want..energy like never before...so here is my question...is it normal to have such a high sex drive...I'm thinking something is wrong with me..lol -
I think the weight gain was from the air installed in my tummy as well as the huge amounts of Fluid they infused in me. And last but not least, TMI - but being constipated by the pain meds. But all is well now. I'm pretty darn happy! The doc said that surgery would probably be 2 hours but I was done in an hour! Started walking around as soon as I got to my room later that evening and never stopped! The walking was key to being discharged and getting my body woken up from the anesthesia. I was discharged two days after surgery! In on Wednesday and out on Friday. Not too shabby! I've not had any issues keeping fluids down or drinking, and I've had to remind myself to take it slow. Pain has been minimal, but of course, if you move the wrong way too fast, you'll feel incisional pain. Not a big deal. I have had a "upset tummy" at times, but I think that is partially from drinking too much at a time. That subsides, and the Omeprozol helps. Happy to answer any other questions! Best wishes to all and I'm so glad I did this! Crash!

Who else got sleeved on the 28th of march?
Kesha1020 replied to elaina831's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
29th was my day....First few days I had really bad pain on the left side (main incision) and gas. Feeling alot better today with gas strips and especially after passing gas yesterday (tmi)...pain is manageable I take the pain meds once a day. I'm having a hard time getting my Protein and liquids in. I only did 30 grams of protein and about 20oz of Water yesterday. Just doing laps around the house for exercise but I'm going to the mall today to do some walking. Good luck everyone! Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App -
nraeh So glad you are recovering nicely and had an easy surgery! I got sleeved on Wednesday, June 1st as well! Just got out of the hospital Saturday afternoon (TODAY) and I am feeling pretty good too. Haven't tried a shake yet. Still just doing Clear liquids -- I had two sugar free jell-os tonight along with chicken broth, Vitamin Water zero and an sugar free ice pop! But after only being out of the hospital for 10 hours -- I pooped (sorry for the TMI but I am so proud & excited!). So my digestive system is working a - okay. My surgery went fine but it was delayed getting into the operating room. There were several emergency surgeries that bumped my ELECTIVE procedure. So instead of starting at 11 am they didn't start until 3PM so I was dehydrated going into the surgery. Of course they wouldn't let me even have ice chips until after the esophogram (swallow test) and in a major NYC hospital between the time you take the test, your surgeon gets the results and then actually gives a written order to start the patient on liquids takes way more time than a dehydrated gal wants it to take!!! All that aside every day I feel better. My new tiny tummy is still a bit sensitive. When I ingest anything even water I feel lots of contractions that aren't terrible but I would like them to go away. I need to keep taking the anti-nausea drugs and the PPI. I may try diluting a shake with water tomorrow and see if I can get in some Protein. There is always Isopure -- I broke down and bought three bottles (GRAPE/APPLE-MELON/BLUE RASPBERRY). Like you nraeh -- I am glad to be sleeved and looking forward to starting my journey! EJ

getting rid of the gas
losingwait replied to jcollins510's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 days post op (woo hoo!) and I had terrible gas pains for about 4 days. The gas x strips didn't touch it. I guess the walking helped. I think part of mine was the gas they pumped in and the other part was just being gassy period. My stomach would rumble and rumble but nothing would come out! UNTIL about Day 4 when I had filled myself so full of liquids I guess something had to give! Anyway, I know that's TMI but hang in there, once you get past that part, you will be much more comfortable! -

Got Sick For The First Time Saturday
Joiebean posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just an FYI---this may be TMI for some. So...it finally happened. I ate to fast, filled up my stomach and a little more and....well...up it came. I found it really strange. I haven't actually thrown up since surgery and that was violent dry heaving. This wasn't like the violent getting sick...but it just literally came back up. No convulsing, lol, no gagging, it just simply came back up and I spit it out. Is that normal?? Is that what others have experienced? My sleeve is starting to take regular foods again and so I'm trying new stuff....but it still doesn't like some things. I got a little sick from Soup with to much grease in it too (I know...grease in soup?? Go figure) -
How Is This Even Possible
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the people on this site too. You are all so courageous. Every one of you should be proud for being pro-active and meeting this horrible health issue head on. I am truly blessed to be recovering so well. I haven't had pain meds since the recovery room (I hated the morphine) and right now I have so much energy I feel like jumping up and down. My only small complaint is that I think I am constipated. I know there's not much to make a BM (TMI?) from, but I did cheat and have a bit (1/8 cup) of oatmeal yesterday and a tiny amount of flakey fish the day before. My sleeve handled it fine. My colon -- not so much. I wonder if Benefiber would do the trick. I don't want to take a laxative. -
Intestinal issues (TMI sorry!)
JayTee562 replied to myturn2bhappy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
TMI!!!!! NEVER!!!!!! LOL I posted on a thread my issue. During my Mushy/Liquid stage I had very little happening back there and some point I felt like a rock (not really feel it but felt a bit of pain like there was one) in my belly and I honestly think I could feel it move through the track if you will had a business lunch at a mexican restureant hd the refried Beans and a day later felt "the rock" go the rest of the way, all the way. Been fine since. Like my turn sorry if TMI but thses are the kind of things that come up with our meal plans. -
Ok, I really hate to go here, so read no further if you didn't have to go here the night before your surgery. My dr. requires you to have a "fleet enema" the night before surgery. I've had 5 or 6 surgeries under general anesthesia before and this has never been required. I think it is a personal preference of my doctor?? Anyway, I'm reading the box and it looks like this is a two person event, LOL?! It has you "assuming position" before using it and the box speaks in context pointing out what the person receiving treatment should be doing, as if you'll need assistance when you're in this position? Anyone, did you do this yourself? Did it work the first time (God forbid it takes twice)? Was it really horrible? This will be the worst part of the 24 hours leading up to and after... Thanks!

imnotfat_momsayimchubby posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so I know its a little TMI but I haven't gone "#2" for 10 days now. I read on the previous forums that this may be pretty common but i just wanna make sure that everything is still ok. Also, since I haven't "#2'd" I have gained a total of 4 lbs. What am I doing wrong? I am now currently on my 2nd stage diet and eating soft foods. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance... -
Me too, I'm having some issues with the protein shake......tmi going thru me

Just an update and a word of encouragement to all newbies. I'm 6 weeks post op - and since the surgery I lost about 20 lbs. First few weeks on liquids and mushies were kinda sucky - but tolerable. After that - I've been eating healthy foods, mostly lean seafood, veggies, occasional red meat - but very little. I haven't had a fill yet, so without restriction I've been watching my own portions and there have been days where I've eaten more than I should have. I've started on solids sooner than prescribed but I'm pretty well-tuned to what my body wants/needs and because of portion controls I've been able to eat most things. By choice I've eliminated most white carbs: rice, bread, Pasta. I've had a bit of rice and a nibble of bread here and there and I do have oatmeal - otherwise all Protein diet will screw up your BMs and you'll have to supplement Fiber. I really hate supplements or non-natural things, so I've been increasing fiber in my diet while keeping protein high. So far - only slight constipation - I know TMI 3-4 weeks post op I've started working out: cardio about 3-4 times a week and weights on alternating days. That has helped tremendously not so much in increased weight loss as in energy levels and overall healthy feeling. BEST PART - old pants fitting again!! And shirts and jackets too!! 20 lbs is about 1 size in clothes - so I'm back to L from being XL. Yay! Tomorrow I'm going in for the first fill - really excited about that. And a bit anxious because so far I've had nothing "stuck" as there was nothing to obstruct my pipes - now it's going to be different. I'm just hoping that post fill, I'll have just positive experience as I've head up until now. That 20 lbs of weight loss has increased my energy 10-fold - now I'm hoping that the weight loss will continue at a nice, steady pace. By Xmas I intend to look like a Greek god . So - if you just joined, just had a surgery - the first few weeks are tough but not impossible. After that - things are downhill. Stay motivated!! Ahab.

Prayers to everyone!!! I have to use magnesium citrate...Like and epson salt preperation...on Tuesday and I hear I'll be on the pot for 6 hours! I am NOT looking forward to that but I'll pretend that I am loosing a bunch of FAT!!!! I am prepared with soft and moist wipes too! Sorry TMI I think tonight will be my last "Food" I am choosing this...then I will just have protein shakes Monday and Tuesday morning and then it is clear liquids from then on...they said I could have an egg and slice of toast Tuesday but....I usually just do a protein shake every morning so why change that????? I am also allergic to egg yolks...yea I could have egg substitute but I'm sure I'll be having plenty of that soon enough! I am also to put a motion sickness patch behind my ear at 10:00pm on Tuesday to help with the naseau! Anyone ever try that? Good luck and love to all Late Bloomers this week!
