Where are the November Sleevers?
Dreamingofhealth replied to ToccoraVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well and haven't had any major issues. How have the progression through the different food stages been? For me, I haven't had too many problems aside from acid/burning stomach but I've been prescribed more acid reducing meds, and I'm much better!! One thing I find crazy is I have so so so much gas... like all the time. Not necessarily painful but I'm constantly tooting lol (sorry if this is TMI) I was just wondering if any of you have been experiencing the same thing? It's the weirdest thing ever.... to me anyway. If anyone has insight as to why I'm experiencing this much gas that would be awesome. I was sleeved November 26th and so far it's been good! I hope you all are doing well! Sheena :-) -
I am five days post op and was wondering the same thing I stop smoking cigs when i started my pre op diet but last night I smoke my first cig and it helped me use the bathroom(tmi) anf get rid of alot of gas.

I actually went there last week thinking they still had their angus burgers and I could get one if those bunless and be ok. Um, NO! They don't have them anymore. So I got the home style burger bunless. I ended up having the runs (sorry, probably tmi) several times. NEVER doing that again. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I was watching some YouTube videos and there was a personal trainer on there that said that the stair climbing machine is the best thing for hips and thighs so I did just joined a gym I'm going to look and see when I go if they have one of those machines and start using it because I know when I climb stairs I have one hell of a time. I've always felt so self conscious because I can't wear shorts my thighs are huge and I not only have cellulite, but these big bulging fat deposits around my hips and in the back of my thighs I have a big bulges as well. It's disgusting. I've never seen this on anybody else per se and I'm thinking that I will be one of those that's going to have to have like a lower body lift or thigh lift when I'm done. This is always been my problem area.. you could count my ribs and my stomach will be flat but then I have these huge thighs and you can't even see my knees. I know this is probably TMI!

Week 2: May 27-31st Sleevers
NewTee2014 replied to lylabelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Preop diet starting weight 239. Date of surgery 5/27 weight 222. Releases from hospital weight 228. Weight today 218. Constipation finally over. Sorry tmi. Still trying to get enough fluids daily. -
Hi Jen! You just described my feelings exactly. We are very similar in height and weight as well. I am day 2 post op... Although I've had some post -op issues, the surgery itself went well. Maybe TMI, but, after they took out the catheter I was obviously expected to urinate in the bathroom ( I may also mention that I am on the heaviest menstral cycle I'v e had in over a year). Well everything went well until I realize I couldn't bend to wipe myself. It was rather eye-opening and embarrassing to have the nurses' aid wipe for me. And the second time I went to pee, I roughed through the wiping part, but my underwear fell to the floor and I could t pick them up. Again, mortifying. Luckily my nurse was super understanding to made me feel a bit better. So far the best information I could give you is to advocate for yourself. If you're in pain, tell them. If you need help in the bathroom, tell them. There is a reason you're in the hospital and the nurses are there to help. - Angela

1 week Post Op!
ambersterling replied to donatelife36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved this past Thursday, so today I am 4 days out. I am still having a lot of trouble swallowing. Feels like a golf ball every time. Also, they gave me a suppository in the hospital bc I was in SO much pain from gas. So now I have (sorry TMI) liquid diarrhea. Did any of you have any of these issues? I am worried about dehydration. I am on full liquids, so I'm trying to drink skim milk along with water and some zero calorie electrolyte drinks like Powerade Zero and Gatorade. Haven't attempted a protein shake yet. -
Any other Halloween sleevers in this group?
rmg19881015 replied to laceemouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
this is my 4th day post op. The first few days were ruff, severe nausea and pain. I'm home and still very uncomfortable still having bad gas pains slight diarrhea. Sorry for tmi. I hope it's just from only being on liquids and not some sort of reaction to my Protein shakes. Getting liquids down still is so hard I'm suppose to drink 3 shakes per day I'm lucky if I can stomach one. I'm trying to do everything by the books and walk ect. This is a tough journey. I'm trying my best what more can we do right? Good luck to you on your journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

What to do when you don't want to eat?
NovaLuna replied to qtdoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Due to my specific surgery I have to eat every couple of hours or my stomach gets f-ed up (if I wait to eat until I'm actually hungry then my bowels decide to punish me and I literally empty everything in there and I'm in and out of the bathroom for around an hour. And this usually happens after just a few bits of food after not eating for 7+ hours. Bright side of this is that if I get constipated I know how to solve it lol. TMI, sorry). So even if I'm not hungry, I'll munch on a rice cake. They're 50 calories and at least I'm putting something in my stomach so I don't end up angry at myself later for the stomach ache. -
I did a lot of research on what I should be drinking for my 2 weeks pre op liquid diet. Last week I finally found something I really like. It's 20 grams of Protein per serving and also has no sugar as well as chromium to regulate my blood sugar (which regulates mood). Also (a little TMI) I am not getting "backed up" using this because it has digestive enzymes (which is a great thing :tongue2:) Same company also does a super greens drink so that I am getting my fruits and veggies servings so I am not missing out on any Vitamins or minerals while I'm doing the pre op liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled for 10/6/09. I know I can do it! If any one is interested in what I am using send me a message and I'll send you some info on it.

Hi, I just had my conversion to bypass from sleeve two days ago and today I had my first vowel movement. Great I thought! Now, rather than passing gas I run to the bathroom just in case it’s not. I’ve had about 3-4 small bouts of loose stools today. Is this normal at all?
-
I have terrible sinus issues year round. I have found that eating is difficult when I am really "snotty"! Anybody else have these issues??? I know...TMI!
-
So still having the issue. Way less diarrhea (probably 3-4x/day) and not to have TMI but it's not all watery persay but it's very soft but still feel pressure and have an urge to go with very little coming out. And it's an urge... I mean I pretty much run! I did do an enema, drank some m of m, taking marilax, sitz bath. Still no solid poop but maybe I'm expecting too much? I did go in yesterday for blood work and give urine sample. Dr office is closed today but I was able to see my results online and all my numbers seemed to be in the normal range. I have zero pain(more pressure then pain) other then in my butt. I know I have hemorrhoids so I'm wondering if that is my pressure feeling? I was reading online and it (butt pressure) can be brought on by anxiety which I have horribly. It almost seems if I'm busy I don't notice it. I'm going to go back on my anxiety meds and see if that helps. Going to try to start back on some mushies (I have been on them for a week but haven't eaten any bc I didn't want to get backed up more) to see if that helps with the loose stool. I'm going to call Monday and insist on X-ray or u/s if I'm not better. And maybe this is all a "normal" feeling after surgery?? Don't know. Just frustrated! I felt like my old self (minus the 42lbs) last week and just want to feel like that again!

Sex After Weight Loss
keldolbeth replied to SophieJaneB's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is funny because I was about to post a thread about sex today too! I'm a month post-op and have had sex twice since surgery. (I only waited 10 days, doc said I could do it when I felt ready.) The "friend" I was with last night was kind of an experiment of sorts because I had not had sex with him in several months, back when I was at my highest weight. I wanted to "test it out" and see if I noticed a difference with 85 pounds gone. Little did I know he had lost a bunch of weight too. (He's not a big guy, just lost most of his beer gut. lol) So, of course, he lost inches in his waist and gained it you-know-where. I felt much smaller or shallower down there now. It has never hurt with him before and last night I let out a few yelps of pain. Afterwards I told him I was mad at him because he "punched my cervix." lol We had a good laugh! But that was the ONLY negative! Everything else was great! It was so nice to wrap my legs around his waist or hold my own legs up more easily! Oh, I love the TMI threads on this site! -
SO = Significant Other Previously, SO seemed to be used more to describe a committed partner of a same sex couple - however, these days, the usage seems to be broadening to include partners in a committed relationship who are not married. At 44, "boyfriend" sounds so highschool (although I do still use that term), and doesn't really do justice to a relationship that has moved beyond dating, IMHO. So I have gone with the flow and am trying to update my vocabularly to more adequately reflect the type of relationship we have. We cohabitate, share similar goals for the future, share expenses, etc. Basically, for all intents and purposes, marriage without the legal mumbo-jumbo. He does not plan on being married again (I guess once was enough for him! ), but he's not planning on leaving me, either, so... He's my SO. TMI? lol
-
It took me 15 days, Colace, senna tablets and Miralax..... but I finally "did it". I guess I missed the "diarrhea" phase the Dr. warned us about. No straining either which is what I was worried about after more then 2 weeks. This may be TMI, but my 7 pound puppy poops more then I do.

Valentine's Day Wt loss Challenge 2010
newdicarlo replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK, so today is day 5 of the pouch test and, I am not following through with day 5. I've been really working out hard, and having some issues with changing my anti-depression meds (I know, TMI), and it just wasn't worth the last day, I'm sorry to let you down! I did lose three pounds though and I don't feel like snacking. I do feel as though I'm back on track and not craving sugar and carbs so that is a really good thing. I hope to keep on the weight loss track cause that 6 week plateau was pure hell! -
I know exactly how you feel. Sweets are like my drug. And I own a bakery fantastic combination right?! Lol I allow myself to have something nearly everyday. I keep it in my calorie range and I'm still losing weight. If the urge is still there, fiber one makes these great 90 calorie brownies and cookies that hold me over really well. I recommend giving into your craving because if you don't, you may binge later and it's only downhill from there. Trust me, by the time you get to 1/2 a cupcake, you'll feel satisfied. I was a 6 pack of cupcakes kind of girl and now I'm satisfied with only a 1/2. Any more than that and I feel gross. Christmas cookie production is very hard right now so I try to keep it to one cookie a day. And they're small...usually only 100 calories worth which is manageable. Maybe for every sweet u eat, u could exercise what it takes to burn that amount? I try to do that whenever I can. I just keep reminding myself how I was in the bathroom all day long before...and until Lapland I thought that was normal. Now normal is so nice and I'm not running to the bathroom every hour because of the constant sugar and fat in my system. :/ tmi, I know...but it's reality.

Asking all you post sleevers: What do you wish you had known or done before surgery?
Goddardgo replied to Sydney Little Merlette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, measure.. eat and enjoy pooping because after the first week it will not come as easily as it has your entire life!! I know TMI, but it happens -
Okay RYN Family, I am 3 months post op! Started my regular diet Wednesday and even before, I have been pooping everytime you turn around! I drink and wait 10minutes before eating and after I eat I wait 30 min. It still seems as if I am drinking, eating and pooping. My butt is having a romance with the toilet paper and I am hating it! One day I wiped so much my butt split! I know TMI! I hope this will resolve soon! I went shopping today, I hate eaten my breakfast did not have anything to drink a matter of fact was afraid to drink 30 min after the fact but my stomach rumbled and made obnoxious soundds I was so embarassed! I went and got me some Gas X to take right then and there! On the way home, I didn't know if I ws going to make it or not! (I made it barely) I remember my dietician saying, "Do not trust passing gas, and some people wear adult diapers!" I refuse to do that but not to prideful to wear a pad. Any suggestions or encouragement of this to shall pass! Thank s everyone!

How long before a BM? 9 days post op
kaciii replied to RellaBelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Sleeves 3/30 I had my first one within 3 days of being home and my second today (since we're doing tmi lol;) ) and mine are actually normal. No diarrhea so I think it may be normal to be more on the constipated side especially if you've been faithful in taking your pain meds. I know I was . Low pain tolerance here . Maybe just give it time .. Unless you're hurting ? Then I would call your dr. Best of luck
