Hello Fall! Does anyone have any goals, NSV's especially for fall?
Hello new me replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My Fall NSV happened this weekend. I went to a pro football game. I was able to sit in the seat with room to spare. I we also walked 5 miles a day and took the stadium stairs up and down with no problems or the need to stop and rest. I was so excited! -

A couple of NSV this past week... 1. Fit into my old favorite bathing suits (size 12s & 14s) - Was able to retire my "new" big girl suits for my old fashionable ones 2. Bought a appropriate US size (#'d) Harley Davidson capris (reality, they were US size 12/14 - and must've been UK sizing) a couple years back and they never fit.... tried them on for giggles the other day and they buttoned 3. tried on a pair of old jean capri's today - haven't been able to wear in 3 years.... FIT....:D

Had another NSV tonight! I haven't worn heels in a very long time. I've been wearing a size 12W for a while but when I ordered a 12W and 12M both were too big! I get to return them for an 11M! Just reminds me how much the extra weight affected so many other little aspects of my body and life. I didn't expect to go down a full shoe size and width but I'm relieved! It's nearly impossible to find large stylish shoes. Not to mention that my ankles couldn't even take the strain of wearing heels before weight loss. Now that I'm not carrying an extra 125lbs heels don't feel so bad!

I actually have a medical restriction at work that states I am not allowed to use any ladders that are not rated for greater than 350 pounds. I always check to make sure it will hold me, but it is strange that it is a restriction on my record. When that is removed, it will be both an NSV and a scale victory!

only a few of us on Bariatric Pal can say that,i vote that a bono fide NSV!👍

These days I've been coming up with NSV's that somehow/sometimes don't really seem like NSV's, as I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. So here's another one: Yesterday, Mr. carried me up the stairs, not like on his back like piggy-back, nor over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes/flour/presents/whatever, but like over-the-threshold kind of carry...which he hasn't done since he literally carried me over the threshold to our first house before the Kid was born (~15 years ago) All the way up, I kept thinking he was going to pull his back out or something and we would take a tumble and then when we got to the top, sooooo relieved when we got there intact.

yesterdays NSV - I was able to buy a few items of clothes at a physical Old Navy store because I didn't need plus size . Today, I realized I needed to go and exchange a couple sweaters because they're too large! So I was able to buy XL sweaters! (even though I know ON runs large, still excited).

This carrying stuff is a new one for me and this thread is hilarious. While I have been lifted a few times😜 I do not remember my husband ever carrying me anywhere except over the threshold of our new house purchased a month after our wedding. I feel left out....are y'all counting this as a NSV??

Yeah Baby! Oh I have a Christian type joke for you! Lady appears at the Gates of Heaven. Saint Peter says" Before I open these gates I must know if you know Our Savior, the Son of GOD? Lady says Oh Saint Peter, yes I do and we are on a first name basis. Saint Peter says Oh yes, and what might his name be? Lady says Yes his name is Andy. Saint Peter says Andy? Lady says if course: Andy walks with me Andy talks with me Andy tells me I am his own! Great NSV I am looking for the day I can bend straight over, tie my shoes and not get dizzy.

First NSV - Looked at my poor bruised (blood thinner injections), scarred, and stretchmarked stomach and apron and felt sorry for them instead of angry with then for the first time. Reclaimed them as part of me rather than the disgusting traitors and have begun moisturising and looking after them along with my other overlapping and swinging bulgy bits. Accepted they'll still be there albeit deflated, so may's well be at peace with them :-) HW: 263 SW: 256 (21st Jan) CW: 238 Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

Although I've been sewing since I was in 8th grade, I signed up for a class at a local sewing shop. We are all making the same top. We are using a "multi-size" pattern. It was interesting hearing others discuss what size they needed to cut their pattern even if it was a large size because I know 3 years ago I never would of told anyone what size I was! This time I was the smallest person in the room and had no problem discussing my size! That was definitely a NSV for me! -

I thought about it but I also like the double take I get when having my ID checked, That is a fun NSV in itself. -

Pre-surgery, I am down 3-4 sizes on bottoms (size 26-28 from size 32). I'm wearing big baggy tops for now. I've stitched up the size seams of all of my underpants and bras and swimwear so I won't have to buy new during the immediate transitional period. Surgery is just a week away, so I will have to buy more soon and also take a trip to Goodwill to buy pants and tops. I think can get by with my winter sweaters and coats. Best NSV of all, I went out to lunch last weekend and sat in a booth, with room to spare between my belly and the table. That hasn't happened in years. -

That is the funniest NSV ever. I have to say though, that ghost door bell would would be dead and in the dustbin, never to ring again in my house. Children here have a game called 'knock a door, run'. The local kids would have got the blame haha -
How about some NSVs!?!?

I'm not sure if this is a NSV but it was surprising. I usually put my hair bands around my wrist so I would have it handy. When I was overweight I would have to take it off shortly after putting it on because it would start squeezing my wrist. Today I realized I could keep it on all day but also when I pulled up my long sleeve shirt my hair band pulled up to my upper arm and I didn't realize it until I was looking for it to put in my hair. I guess my upper arm has gotten quite a bit smaller. -

I know this is women's territory. But I'd like to share my own NSV, if I may. I was going through my old clothes, (mostly suit coats and sweaters), which I haven't worn for over ten years and found out they all fit! A couple of my suit coats could even be altered now to make them double-breasted! But my 19-year-old daughter saw me styling them and said "Ugh Dad, those are so '90's!" Little does she know they're actually '70's and '80's! Oh well, more donations for the thrift stores. -

This is by far my favorite thread here at this forum. Every pre-op member should read through every post. It is a great motivation while going through the whole process. Keep sharing everyone.... on July 23 I will be one step closer to sharing my own NSVs. -

November has been NSV month for me. I have been to two college football games and an NFL game with even thinking about being a tight squeeze into the seat. Tomorrow I fly out to TN and am not stressed on where I will be sitting on the flight and when I get to TN I am going to be in a tree stand that I am not too heavy for. -

Thank you very much, Ladies for your support and inspiration. Jeanaluvskisses, thinndskies and Gingersnaps! You have great reminders of NSV's. I've started a list of all the NSV accomplishments I would like to see and many of the ones listed here are reminders of items to put on my list. Like you have said, it may not be just a clothing or shoe size but ease of movement, walking without puffing or the ability to get up out of a chair easily. I'm looking forward to following this thread in the weeks, months and years to come as I progress and experience many successes on my new journey. -

Here is a big NSV for me, my little garden. I'm going to eat healthy and grow some of what I eat. I don't think I would have ever had the energy or motivation to do this last year. It's small, but I tilled it all by hand so it was a lot of work. I'm not done with it yet, but I've so happy with what I've got done so far.
