Revision Surgery - Band With Plication Set For My Birthday!
Bos123 replied to Mamacita14's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I know you guys are right. My husband asks me, "why don't you get the sleeve? It's the same price, higher weight loss, permanent, no ghrenalin..." My answer is... Idk. There's something just too permanent about it. ( my mom had it done and was in the 1%) she almost died and still has complications 7 mos later. So it's also more intrusive. Maybe I am comforted in some way by not hearing any bad things about post plication... Maybe because there is not enough data, maybe because its just safer. Who's to say... I suppose its the fear most of us prob have about failing too. Like what if I pay this money and it doesn't work (is this possible?) will I wish I had the sleeve? It must work right? People have it done, where r they lol? I wish this forum was busier.. One can take comfort in hearing others stories. So thank you two for sharing, it means a lot to me:) any successes you have or nsv you would like to share would be appreciated:) -
Walked 1.75 miles today with my daughter. There was lots of inclines on the path. My daughter commented after just a short ways that I WAS NOT huffing & puffing like I did prior to VSG!! great NSV!

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
Just peachy replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
NSV...had to go through a 'turnstile' today when entering an event. I fit. I didn't have to go through sideways and I didn't have to walk through the walkaround. Felt so good! -
What a great NSV!!! Way to go

This is a nsv and a rave and tooting my own horn. I don't necessarily like bragging about myself so ill do it in a relatively anonymous place such as this. A few months ago, I submitted a proposal to do a workshop at a national convention I go to every year. I had convinced myself I didn't have enough credentials, enough letters after my name, etc and I would not get picked. I wrote my proposal in about an hour, sent it and forgot about it. So yesterday I got a letter stating they had approved me to do my workshop at the convention. I' was so shocked I just started to cry. It's not until April so I thankfully have lots of time to get prepared and be nervous. What an amazing week this has been. First I was sleeved now this! And the best part is I'm going to enjoy going shopping for a new outfit to wear to give the workshop! Yes, I'll be skinny by April! I'm just over the moon. Thank you all for letting me brag a little.

Xpost: (Long) 13 Months And Flying High
Terry H. posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
As of yesterday I lost 210 lbs... half my body weight. People are starting to ask me if I'm at goal. I'm wearing clothing that can best be described as average sized. Nothing bigger than a large and mostly medium with size 36 or 38 pants. I'm now just 9 lbs from my first major goal, 10 pounds from onderland, and 29 lbs from my stretch goal of 180. I'm really charged up about the prospects for the new year. Oh what a wonderful feeling to have the seat belt fit on an airplane. One of the best NSVs yet. Every day is better and this life change is my best Christmas present, thanksgiving wish, and birthday gift combined. -

To Own A Scale, Or Not...
♥LovetheNewMe♥ replied to LizAndrews's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Early in this journey, I only weighed myself when I went to see my physician. Now that I am at goal, I get on the scale eveymorning before showering. I want to make sure I stay at this weight. The only reason I did not weigh daily when losing was becasue I did not want to become a slave to my scale. I lost a lot of inches while building muscle and it would have been depressing not to see the numbers get lower. So I say yes own scales but don't allow the scales to rule your thoughts on WL, there are many NSV along this journey. -
My purse fits on the car seat with me!

So..I am having a "fat" day..we women and granted some men have these...for all my hard work ..I still feel fat..so I decided to pull out my pictures..and I will share them here ..7 months out down 111-113# (depends on the time of day, clothes..ect ect). ..so remember when you are feeling down...pull out that post op picture that you really didn't want to take of yourself..you'll be thankful you did..because I always want to remember where I have been, where I am at...and where I am going! 12 hours before surgery 4-3-12: 6 month anniversary 10-3-12 down 98# And today 11-16-12 fluctuating between 111-113# down ...still feeling fat but know that I have come a long way and still have more to go..but I will keep on keeping on! Hang in there folks! Take pictures and measurements and keep your chin up..it gets better!

Me And My Dog And My Nsv... This Is So Funny
lowe1961 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a dog her name is Lolly she is a boston terrior. We live near a very busy highway in a apartment. And when I opened up the door she took off. Now here I am in my pj's, I have dinner cooking on the stove. And this dog is fast. Well she runs next to the highway up 2 very steep hills before i caught her. If I would have not had this surgery In July. I would have never been able to keep up with her. So if anyone saw a crazy looking women running down the side of 141 wearing a purple robe , It was me. And of course it was rush hour traffic. Well my dog is sound asleep now , she seems to be wore out. And I burned some extra calories today. -
Yep, same problem. I finally had mine re-sized, just 8 lbs from goal. It is an AMAZING NSV, but re-sizing is expensive right now, especially for gold. I used ring sizes for a long while and highly recommend them. They don't have to be jewelry store quality to work. It is just temporary. As someone said... yarn works too!

ProudGrammy replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Strangefruit good for you - great NSV portion control can be difficult to teach yourself - you are doing great famous last words of my NUT/surgeon "eat until you are full, then stop 2 bites earlier " 3 weeks post op - what a winner you are!!!!! keep up the good work -
Guess what? I did it!! Another nsv... participated in my first spin class this morning! Woohoo!!!!

Slowly Learning Portion Control - Nsv
Strangefruit posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a little over three weeks post op.. Today I made 1/2 cup of soup... and STOPPED with 3 tsp left... Since being allowed soft foods, it has really been hard for me to leave 2-3 tsp in the bowl... I would eat the "serving" and realize belatedly that it was the last bite or two that caused the pain and/or vomiting. I stopped... I feel fine (weird leaving only 2-3 bites) but feel physically fine! Definitely a none scale victory! -
