We call that an NSV! Non-scale-victory and they are priceless beyond words! Here to many many more for you! We all get excited when we can leave plus size stores behind us! -
Two NSV's today...... Had to cut 9 inches off my belt and got called a "skinny ass"! Even though I'm down 60 pounds since surgery and still 67 pounds from my goal, it felt good to hear that! I laughed at my friend that said it and then immediately went to my room to shed a small "happy tear".

What Are You Eating Tomorrow?
Donny replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4.5 weeks out and I am skipping the turkey! I bought myself a nice piece of Red Snapper and I will be grilling that! I also plan on a little bit of cauliflower mashed potatoes. I'm sure it will be disappointing seeing my family go to town on all the yummy food, but I have all my NSV's to fill that void! -
Piercings During Surgery
ProudGrammy replied to Jalese's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jalese i agree that you will need to take your body pierces out as you are going to surgery-along with all jewelry WLS - 12/10 -good luck, speedy recovery - you are in for the ride of your lifetime towards health and happiness - wishing you well that being said - i have to laugh a bit, not at you but ...i want to experiment, new things since WLS since i've been losing my weight - i've tried to step out of the box, do a couple things that i never did joked to DH about piercing my naval - i don't think so!!!!! but .......... got a tattoo!!!! OMG got my 2 front teeth capped - changed my "natural" blonde by Loreal to a light, warm blonde with a little red!!!! Face Lift 1/30/13 there are other smaller but cool NSV's that i keep on enjoying this grammy isn't in a rocking chair - but I'm a ROCKIN change is good -

Had a pretty busy two weeks and so got a lil behind in my blog. Took me off my good eating habits too so have to bring that back on track. All in all though has been a pretty good past two weeks weight loss wise...I have also set more goals for myself. I am starting a training schedule for a half marathon as I committed to run my first one on June 01, 2013. Having goals like this keep me on target. Not only does it keep me focused to work out but also keeps me eating right as I do not want to erode my hard work with bad food choices. I have run into a few folks on the forums that are steadfast believers that working out does not speed up weight loss and they may be right...However, I am not just going for skinny I am going for healthy and fit. Working out is part of my overall healthy lifestyle and it sure doesnt hurt to realize the toning payoffs I am getting from working out. I also know there will be a time where the weight loss settles out and I want to make sure that exercise is apart of my life so that the weight doesnt find itself back. Now for the NSV's that I experienced over the last two weeks. The first one was an underhanded compliment...almost insult but crazy enough it made me feel so darn good...I posted a pic on FB and pretty soon I got a call from a relative. He first said that cannot be you in the pic...I of course said it was and he said you are so darn skinny...If I did not know any better I would swear you on crack because you lost so much weight so fast...Uh yeah..(he doesnt know about the surgery)...I laughed so hard..and got tingles because while I am not skinny I feel skinny as compared to where I was...2nd NSV was I was out on the town the other weekend and saw an old friend and he didn't speak. I am was wondering what was up...Well he finally came to me after a bit and said Helga I did not recognize you...You lost so much weight...You look damn good...Oh why thank you...And the third NSV was I had to buy new belts and bras I was on the last loop of all my belts before surgery. Now even the last loop on the belt is too loose so had to get another one. My bras are no longer considered plus size (40B pre surgery)...Now I am a 36B...I love the selection I have now...One thing I did notice though while trying on bras is that my boobs are a lil saggy...Might have to perk these lil T-shirt boobies back up...I dont want big boobs but I want what I have to be perky... Finally, I have attached my 3 month progress photos. I have had an amazing and rewarding journey thus far. I am just 34lbs from my goal, though I am starting to rethink whether I want to move my goal to 165lbs vs 155lbs. I can currently wear some size 11 jeans and I am still nearly 190lbs. I always thought I would be comfortable at a size 9. In fact, I still think I would so I am going to see how things work out weight wise with me fitting into a comfortable size 9. Depending on the number, this might be my new goal weight. HW 232 & SW 227 (VSG 08/17/12 & 5'8) LW 192.0 Week 11 Weight - 190.8 CW 188.8 [Total Weight Loss 43.2lbs ] GW 155

rkimom- you are definitely welcome to join us!! Others have joined us after having a bad experience with either the chat room or other forums. This group has always been caring, supportive and honest. We have about 12-13 followers with some who post weekly like Chrissylu, MeredithMcFee, NJ2NC, Amica, Ladybadito,JustDoIt (aka Nicki), Otaknam, Valann, horsegirl, kymie, and a lot of others!! I hope the group does not mind me saying, but Nicki, kind of has been our leader. She posts the most and keeps us going. She is always encouraging and responds to everyones posts. She is the Queen of the January Bandsters!! Our group has really stuck together through eating problems, stuck problems, fill problems, issues with doctors, family problems, vacation issues, etc. Everyone has supportive things to say and great suggestions and sometimes great recipes!! We have posted monthly goal for weight and at a time switched to posting behavioral goals. Now we are posting our monday weights. Also the best part is when everyone post their NSV (no small victory or no scale victory) those are the really special posts to me!! That reminds me I have a NSV!! My step-daughter (the one who I bump heads with) is coming home from the Peace Corp for the x-mas break and asked if she can borrow some of my clothes since she has gained weight!! I am sharing clothes with my daughter! Woho!!! I am still a size 14 and they will be a little big on her since she is about a 12, but it is pretty cool!! Bad for her, good for me!! Chrissy-Congrats on the fill, sometimes we have to push them to listen to us, we know our bodies!! I can't believe you have almost lost 100 lbs!! that is amazing!! I am stuck at 80lbs give or take a few, but after my next fill next week it will be a fresh start for me! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!

Revision Surgery - Band With Plication Set For My Birthday!
Bos123 replied to Mamacita14's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I know you guys are right. My husband asks me, "why don't you get the sleeve? It's the same price, higher weight loss, permanent, no ghrenalin..." My answer is... Idk. There's something just too permanent about it. ( my mom had it done and was in the 1%) she almost died and still has complications 7 mos later. So it's also more intrusive. Maybe I am comforted in some way by not hearing any bad things about post plication... Maybe because there is not enough data, maybe because its just safer. Who's to say... I suppose its the fear most of us prob have about failing too. Like what if I pay this money and it doesn't work (is this possible?) will I wish I had the sleeve? It must work right? People have it done, where r they lol? I wish this forum was busier.. One can take comfort in hearing others stories. So thank you two for sharing, it means a lot to me:) any successes you have or nsv you would like to share would be appreciated:) -
Walked 1.75 miles today with my daughter. There was lots of inclines on the path. My daughter commented after just a short ways that I WAS NOT huffing & puffing like I did prior to VSG!! great NSV!

NSV...had to go through a 'turnstile' today when entering an event. I fit. I didn't have to go through sideways and I didn't have to walk through the walkaround. Felt so good! -

This is a nsv and a rave and tooting my own horn. I don't necessarily like bragging about myself so ill do it in a relatively anonymous place such as this. A few months ago, I submitted a proposal to do a workshop at a national convention I go to every year. I had convinced myself I didn't have enough credentials, enough letters after my name, etc and I would not get picked. I wrote my proposal in about an hour, sent it and forgot about it. So yesterday I got a letter stating they had approved me to do my workshop at the convention. I' was so shocked I just started to cry. It's not until April so I thankfully have lots of time to get prepared and be nervous. What an amazing week this has been. First I was sleeved now this! And the best part is I'm going to enjoy going shopping for a new outfit to wear to give the workshop! Yes, I'll be skinny by April! I'm just over the moon. Thank you all for letting me brag a little.

Xpost: (Long) 13 Months And Flying High
Terry H. posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
As of yesterday I lost 210 lbs... half my body weight. People are starting to ask me if I'm at goal. I'm wearing clothing that can best be described as average sized. Nothing bigger than a large and mostly medium with size 36 or 38 pants. I'm now just 9 lbs from my first major goal, 10 pounds from onderland, and 29 lbs from my stretch goal of 180. I'm really charged up about the prospects for the new year. Oh what a wonderful feeling to have the seat belt fit on an airplane. One of the best NSVs yet. Every day is better and this life change is my best Christmas present, thanksgiving wish, and birthday gift combined. -
