2 weeks out..not a pound lost!?
amandaaok replied to amandaaok's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
God no not still on liquids only...who does liquids only for 17 days after!? Lol I have a premier protein drink, soup, pureed beans, smashed avocado yogurt etc...all things that are allowed at this point. Like I said I think mine was a combination of all the fluids - I was hella swollen from hospital - and my time of the month following surgery by BARELY more than a week. I refuse to weigh daily - I would get obsessed and then depressed if it wasn't as fast as other people - but I will weigh weekly and keep track of it, so next week is next weigh in -
Vanilla can really help with adding that touch of sweetness without sugar. Get vanilla powder and it will make your coffee/yogurt/hot cereal taste like you have added sugar

Is anyone else buying and trying protein drinks, mixes etc pre-surgery?
BunnyJean posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My appointment with my surgeon is this Thursday, Oct 5. So my surgery is immanent. I imagine sometime in Oct. I've spent the last several weeks buying the foods (liquids) that I will need pre-surgery and for the first month after surgery. We live remotely, I'm taking 1 week from work and work from home office, so the chances of me actually making it to the store in the first few weeks is about zero. So I'm stocking up and also trying out the items I am buying. Too bad you can't just buy ONE bottle of a protein drink. I figure I'll save massively on groceries the first month so I can "justify" my expenditures now, even if they don't work out. I am lactose intolerant and have been for years. So this is a real struggle because everything is milk based. Even in lifeskills class, put powdered milk in stuff to get more protein. I'm pretty sure that can't happen for me! So I need to be creative and I need to try things before my very life depends on them! Has anyone else done this? Bought items to try? Maybe we can share the best of what we've found? I know all tastes are different. And I have a different prospective because of the lactose issues. One thing I HAVE found.....my gosh is this stuff all sooooooo sweet!!!! TOO SWEET!!! Most have Sucrolose and oh my gosh they could cut that back a bit! So anyway...here are some of the things that I've tried before surgery, and yes I'm told my tastes may change, but talking to sooo many people, it happens but not at huge rate. I'll risk it. I love MUSCLE MILK. I've bought and tried Chocolate and Vanilla Creme. I really like the vanilla creme. This is the protein premixed shake. So I bought the powdered mix in Vanilla Creme.. I currently use it in my coffee to give me a boost of protein! Trying to wean myself of coffee. Down to one a day. My dietitian and lifeskills coach say this is fine. I tolerate this very very well. I really like the PREMIER PROTEIN premixed shakes. I tolerate them ok. Some days better than others. I seem to tolerate the vanilla better, though I like the taste of the chocolate better. I have not tried any others. I don't like too many "fake" taste things, so I am sticking to chocolate and vanilla for premixed. I love GARDEN OF LIFE RAW FIT protein mix. This has been my go to for several years due to lactose issues. I don't find it as sweet because it uses Stevia. I have tried vanilla, chocolate, and Marley Coffee. LOVE Marley! I typically take a scoop, water it down just a bit and then mix it with greek yogurt for breakfast. Scoop has 28g protein. It's plant and seed based. I had both my dietician and lifeskills coach look it over and they said it would be ok. It's dairy free, vegan, gluten free and soy free. Garden of Life website or Amazon. I'm glad I can still use it. I tolerate and like Fage 0% or 2% Greek Yogurt, plain. In my classes and elsewhere Oikos Triple Zero has been mentioned. While I like that taste of that very much, it bothers my gut. Baby food. Decided to try some to help with stages. I like baby food LOL But the Plum Organics Mighty 4 stage is good for a bit of protein and fruit if you are not tolerating stuff and need to get in a bit. They are higher in sugar, 10g. No added, it's from the fruit in them. One pouch has 4-5 grams protein and 10 grams sugar. So it's not ideal for sure, but I bought a few to have on hand in case. FAIRLIFE makes a "milk" that is lactose free and cows not treated with rBST. Since I'm NOT a big milk drinker but know there is protein in it, I started with the 2% one. 1 cup 120 cals, 6 sugars (natural occurring ) and 13 grams of protein. I will try the skim one next and that will, hopefully, be the one I stick with. I was pleased to find this! My current "milk" is Rice Milk. I like it better than Almond milk because it doesn't have a strong taste of something other like Almond milk does. But alas, no protein in rice milk. This Fairlife is a great choice because then my family can use it for cooking. (my daughter is HUGE mac n cheese fan, damn her skinny butt!!) TRUSOURCE Protein Water this is good but HOLD ONTO YOUR SHORTS is it SWEET! Holy batman sweet! There will be no drinking it straight up for me. Sweetened with sucralose. I have used a bottle over several days adding it to my middle 24 oz of water (I typically drink 3 minimum of these a day of water but wonder if I still can sipping constantly cuz I forget and I gulp now like 10 ozs at a time!! I'm working on it!) I added it only to give a boost of protein to my water intake. Which I feel I will need after surgery. One 16 oz bottle has 90 cals, 0 sugars and 20 grams protein. If you like it straight up, there you have 20 grams of protein with what is a clear liquid. I tried the blue raspberry. I tolerate it, though around the time I used it, I broke out in mild case of hives. I'm giving myself another week (been at least 2), then I will try again. So this is good, and too sweet to me might be just right for someone else. It is made with whey isolate. Which I seem to tolerate the isolate more. We'll see. You can find it at Target. course my target didn't have it so I bought online and had to buy several 4 packs. If I really cannot tolerate, my daughter's boyfriend is into fitness and would probably really like it. So no big deal. SARGENTO BALANCED BREAKS these are cheese, dried fruit and nut snacks. I use these now, but they will not be able to be used until final stage and only if you can tolerate nuts, which may not be for a bit for some people. They deserve to be mentioned because in the future, they are a quick snack with protein that is portion controlled. For on the go or those lazy days. I pretty much like cheddar cheese the best and do not like swiss (no lazy cow or whatever that one is called as it's swiss), so these fit with my tastes. 7 grams of protein per container and 180 cals. While the cals are on the higher side, cheese, nuts and dried fruit are all higher calorie foods to begin with. They make them also with some chocolate and gram squares. I tried and actually was not a fan at all. So glad on that one! Again, this is for now before surgery or way after when nuts can be tolerated. GERBER RICE CERAL I did try this and feel that if I add my FAIRLIFE milk to it, I will have some protein. I like it. It's loaded with iron (well 60% for a 4 yr olds daily value), which we will probably need a boost of. It's also pretty high % of B vitamins etc. It has 60 cals and 1 g protein, 1 sugar I can't see added so must be naturally occurring, per 1/4 cup. So while not ideal, if I need to I can use in 2nd stage with the protein milk. PB2 POWDERED PEANUT BUTTER oh sweet heck yes! I mix with smoothies and with plain greek yogurt. 2 tablespoons has 50 cals, 2 grams sugar and 5 grams protein. May need to be a bit careful cuz of the sugars, which is added sugar, but sleevers don't tend to have dumping. SWANSON white premium chunk chicken breast This is canned. I eat this right out of the can. I drain and rinse it then just eat it. I figure, that will suit me fine in later stages and for puree I can put it through the processor. I do not like canned tuna. Which is so weird because I pretty much eat a fish or seafood each and every day. I will grill up a tuna steak and love it, but I don't like canned and I seem to get a gut ache from it too. Really weird. So this chicken is my go to. Throwing this out there for those that do not have time to cook up a chicken breast to put through the processor. 2 servings per can of 50 cals, 0 sugars, 8 protein. So a whole can during the day will give you 16 gr protein. BUMBLE BEE Premium Wild Pink Salmon This is also a canned good. I love this stuff and again eat it right out of the can. A serv size is about 1/4 cup, 80 cals, 0 sugars, 13 grams protein. I need to ask the dietitian if I can put this through the processor only because the cans of this I buy have the skin and small soft bones of the salmon in it. I imagine they would process to almost nothing as they currently are very small, but I'll have to see. So that's my list of things I've currently tried and liked. I have tried MANY other premixed protein shakes and cannot tolerate them gut wise. Doesn't mean they didn't taste decent enough, but I've decided not to list them. If anyone asks me, I can let them know if I have tried and if it tasted good, bad, ok. Anyone without a lactose issue has more options for sure. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear of foods, drinks etc that anyone else has tried either getting prepared or after surgery for any stage. -
recipes Great Pureed Stage Recipes with High Protein
Phobia42 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the middle of my pureed stage, and I found two amazing recipes that have made this my favorite stage so far. Figured I'd share them with everyone. First, if you like spicy: Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients 2 (10 ounce) cans chicken breasts 1/2 packages (4 ounce) fat free cream cheese, softened- 1/4 cup frank's redhot original cayenne pepper sauce 1/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese 1/8 (2 Tbsp) cup fat free ranch dressing 1/8 (2 Tbsp) cup fat-free Greek yogurt OR Fat Free Sour Cream Directions - Preheat oven to 350 degrees. - Place cream cheese in a medium bowl and stir until smooth. Mix in Frank's RedHot, mozzarella cheese, ranch dressing, and yogurt. Stir in chicken until thoroughly combined. Spoon mixture evenly into a deep 8-inch by 8-inch baking dish. - Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until mixture is heated through. Stir well and enjoy! To make this dish FAST, skip the oven altogether. Prepare dip according to the directions, but in a microwave-safe dish. Then microwave uncovered on high for 5 minutes (stopping and stirring halfway through cooking), or until hot. Each 1/4 cup serving has 9 protein, 3 carbs, 2 fat, and it tastes amazing (I normally don't believe people when they say "it's healthy, but it's just as good as....." but this really is). When I get to solid foods, I plan to continue making this and have it as a dip with carrots, celery, etc. Also, if you're a pasta fanatic like me, I take about 1/3 - 1/2 pound of 99% fat free ground turkey and brown it in a skillet. Put in a blender with maybe a cup of marinara sauce. You can also mix in some non-fat ricotta cheese if you like. Heat in the skillet (it's basically a meat spaghetti sauce without the pasta). I also season to taste with garlic salt, rosemary, and thyme for extra flavor. I heat it up and put Parmesan cheese on top when I eat it. If you're also cooking for a family, I imagine this would go great with pasta for them, without for us. Hope this helps! -

Sleeve was on Monday the 25th. Been off the pain meds for 24 hours now. I'm still so unbelievably dizzy and light headed. I'm walking and trying to get all my fluids/protein in. My hands get jittery and I actually break out in a cold sweat from walking to the mailbox. I'm wondering if I'm not getting enough calories in. Today I got 1 protein shake, 1 packet of cream of wheat instant and 1 Greek yogurt. It has take me all day to eat that! And maybe or maybe not related I started passing old blood clots vaginally. What the heck is up with that? Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

It depends on what you are eating your not supposed to eat anything mostly drinking your food like yogurt eggs, protein Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk -
I am 10 days post op and I am always hungry. The first 4 days I didn't even think about food, and now I'm always hungry. I drink my water and my protein shakes too. Is there ANYTHING I can eat at this stage that won't hurt me, that is not soup, pudding, Jell-O, and yogurt. and I hate cottage cheese so there's no way I'm eating that. Oh and I had the gastric sleeve not lap band.
-
Hi everyone. I had a gastric sleeve on September 12th 2017. In 9 days I lost 12 lbs and was ecstatic. Since my weigh in at the dr on 9.21.17 i have not lost 1lb! I am the exact same weight. I was put on soft foods on 9.22 and have been eating yogurt, eggs, chicken. Trying my hardest to get all my fluids, but averaging about 40 oz of fluid a day. Has anyone else experienced weight loss Plateau this close to the surgery date? It seems awfully soon to not be losing weight. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thank you. My Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy was performed on Wednesday 9/2717. Post op I had my wife Ellen and family with me. I spent the day just recovering in the hospital. Thursday morning, still groggy, I did a swallow test with contrast in hospital; all looked good. Later that morning, the PA brought me three 1 oz cups of water and asked I take 30 minutes sipping them. Then three more over the next 30 minutes. Vitals were normal and IV removed later that morning. Prescriptions sent to my pharmacy and went home early afternoon. Going back to see the surgeon next week in office as a follow up. I am now following Dr. Garber's first month meal plan. Goal is 64 ounces of water sipped throughout the day and 60 grams of protein a day. Guidance was if I got heartburn or pressure it means slow down. Sip, not swallow, and try to stay at 1 oz per ten minutes before taking more water. Thursday my protein intake was all basically Muscle Milk - strawberry - I hated the chocolate. Friday, most of the morning and afternoon, I again stayed with strawberry protein and either Fiji water or Lipton diet decaf iced tea. Last meal Friday I braved three ounces of poached chicken breast, a pinch of salt and white pepper, chopped fine with an immersion blender with a touch of cottage cheese for creaminess and enough chicken broth to get the finer texture I wanted. Wasn't that bad. Guidance was pureed food or chopped super fine. Took pain killers as prescribed and nausea meds too just to keep any pain or nausea at bay Thursday and Friday. Popped a Gas-x chewable when the heartburn reared its head. Looking forward to Saturday. Three meals daily 4oz low fat yogurt or cottage cheese, or a scrambled/poached egg 3 ounces chicken or fish. Guidance was go with dark meat it is more likely to be more tender and moist than a breast 3 ounces chicken or fish. My wife Ellen poaches the chicken in chicken broth which I can also drink as part of my 64 ounces of water. If protein is under 60 grams add protein drink to the day. Guidance was to always wait 30 minutes after a meal before returning to sipping hydration liquids. What are you eating, cooking your first weeks post surgery?

Four years out. I've always used fake sweeteners. In my coffee, protein shakes, protein bars and Greek yogurt mostly. Now that I'm at goal I don't avoid real sugar as much.... still isn't a regular part of my diet but I have it weekly or so.
-
I'm also on the 6 month insurance required supervised diet. I'm at the end of month 4 and have lost 48.2lbs so far. The diet my surgeon / nutritionist gave me is similar to described by ojibway above. I wasn't given a calorie goal, but rather a list of things to give up (carbonation, caffeine, sweetened drinks) and a list of foods that I need to eat daily, across 6 meals a day focusing on portion control. I usually end up between 1600-1800 calories per day with this plan. Typical day looks like: Breakfast = oikos triple zero Greek yogurt and 1 cup of oatmeal Snack = sargento "balanced break" pack Lunch = healthy choice Cafe steamers meal ( the nutritionist gave me a list of approved frozen meals) Snack = 2 pieces of low fat string cheese and a piece of fruit Dinner = 4-6oz of meat or fish, a healthy carb such as brown rice or sweet potato, and a veggie Snack = usually a repeat of either snack 1 or snack 2, or sometimes 1 serving of special K strawberry with 1cup of fairlife skim milk

Day 16 has not been easy
Amburmist replied to HappinessTheMeasureofSuccess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, that is in my plan too. Technically, the only things my plan says i CANNOT eat yet are raw veggies, fruits with skins (gotta peel the skins 1st), beef and pork, grains (ie pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, popcorn, etc) and nuts. Everything else is game. I'm about 15 days post op and i was cleared to eat real food (chewed very thoroughly) after 1 week post op. My surgeon said after 1-2 weeks, our internals are healed. However, the re-routing of it all is not yet 'efficiently' working and our bodies need time to understand the new setup, if u will. That said, chicken is one of the hardest for our new stomachs because its fiberous and can be dry before chewing, dry after chewing if chewed too much, or just simply hard to digest. I like what was said above: just because ur plan says it's ok, doesn't mean your body personally is ready. Just scale back to easier to break apart foods. I've found canned tuna mixed with lite mayo, chewed generously, goes down wonderfully. Eggs, cottage cheese, morningstar spicy bean burger...those all chew up to mush and have no hangups in my pouch. But lemme tell u, I tried deli sliced turkey and holy crap...got stuck for over 6 hours! So even though I'm cleared to eat that stuff, i won't be for quite awhile!! Bottom line, u won't hurt ur pouch by eating real foods at this point, as long as u can chew it up to mostly mush before swallowing. But also, listen to ur body and stop eating things it doesn't like right now. Try those things again in a month or so. We're works in progress! Good luck! [emoji4] PS. Vomiting every time u eat solid foods (even when eating dime sized pieces and chewing thoroughly) is NOT normal. Scale back to liquids for a week, then try easing in again (like with eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt). If ur vomiting again, i highly recommend seeking medical assistance. -
After first week out ???
Pam_2-06-2017 replied to Dolcy1182's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had plain vanilla yogurt that first week. I put a little milk in it to thin it out. It was a great way to get protein and NOT a protein shake:-) -
Day 16 has not been easy
EveB replied to HappinessTheMeasureofSuccess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at day 16 or 17, so we should be similar. My doctor's plan lists the foods you did, but follows by stating they need to be mashed or pureed. The nutritionist told us to think the consistency of applesauce. And that we should be able to mash with our tongues (you know, pressing against the roof of our mouth) any remaining bits. I've successfully had, in 1/4 cup servings, the following after blending with a hand immersion blender. Or you could use a regular blender or a small food processor. 1) oatmeal with 1/2 tbsp peanut butter melted into it--when blending, I had to add a good bit of milk bit by bit because I cooked it too much 2) Hormel turkey chili with beans--but some turkey bits were too hard and I had to spit out (don't eat in front of anyone :-)) 3) Chef Boyardee beef-a-roni--like with turkey, some beef bits were too hard 4) Chicken noodle soup with 1/2 noodles removed to save carbs and then blended. This stays liquid but is more substantial than the strained stuff Things that I DID NOT have the BLEND: 1) Grits cooked really liquid with cheese. I added about 1/4 scoop of unflavored protein powder to add protein. I use Isopure. You can order online. 2) Plain yogurt. Either plain Greek or Kroger Carbmasters (don't scoop up any fruit pieces) 3) Sugar free pudding For some good suggestions from someone who has gone through this, check out www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com I hope this helps you out. Your terrible reaction IS NOT common. I think if you go for softer, but high protein foods, you will feel better. -
Hi all, I finally did it. I got sleeved yesterday. I flew all the way over the ocean to Mexico Tijuana to have my procedure done by dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon Palomares in the Int Hospital. Ill try do breakdown my journey up to this moment (Excusez moi mon French, English is not my primary language. Neither is French :-) ) Transportion. Like i said a had to fly in cause i don't live in the USA. Beautiful country though i vacation here as much as possible. I flew into San Diego and got picked up by the Drs. driver, named Sandra. She got there a little late, but i kept my cool. She is a happy chatty girl, so if you ever get to have a ride with her, you will surely not get bored. The drive from San Diego to Tijuana takes about 20 minutes. Clinic/hospital My surgery was performed at INT Hospital. Please do not be alarmed by the size of the establishment. It is not a large facility but squeeky clean. The nurses are such a doll, they check up on you like constantly. Every 20 minutes someone is knocking on my door to check my stats or the drain or give me my medication. They genuinely seem to care about their patients. when i got there, they checked me in, i had to sign all kind of waivers and give my emergency contacts, after that i was off to the labs to take blood. Every turned out ok, with the exception of my blood pressure. it was very high (which surprised me cause i really had no sign or inconvenience at all, but again i hardly go to my gp so god knows how long i have been walking around with my elevated blood pressure. They gave me meds to regulate it, and told my as soon as i got home i had to pay my doctor a visit to have it monitored. But they assured me it will get most probably regulate when my weight drops. Ponce de Leon He is a very kind man, he only speaks Spanish though so for the ones that don't speak Spanish this may be a language barrier, he explained the procedure to me and took his time to answer my questions. Why did i choose him? I spend a lot of time researching, he comes highly acclaimed by his peers, he has a good record and teaches other surgeons, just google his name and tijuana, and his results should come right up. I was hesitant between him and Cordoba, i choose Ponce because of the prices. I paid 4700 USd for the procedure, with meds , 2 nights at the clinic and 1 night at the hotel. After that his assistant came by, very jolly man, great smile he answered all my questions again, took a selfie with me and sped of the prepare for surgery. After that the internest/lab doctor give me ok for the procedure so off i went to the surgery room Surgery they got my a surgery robe with my big behind hanging out, very embarrassing, but again, all is fair in war, love and surgery land. they hooked me up to my IV and rolled me to surgery waiting room. when i got there a man just came out and was crying like a new born baby which scared me a little bit.. but again, women are much stronger than men so i know i got this.. :-) The anaestatist came by to greet, very jolly, singing and cracking jokes, he explained the procedure again and promised me to not let me die on the operating table. He hook me up with a tranquilizer, after that i dozed off. they woke me up and i had to walk like 10 steps to the surgery room, they put me on a surgical bed with my arms spread like our savior Jesus christ and after that i remember nothing. I woke up in the recovery room feeling extraordinary well, only very sleepy. After a while they rolled my bed to my room and since then I've been here, sleeping, walking a lot to get rid of these gasses, with a very empty stomach i havent eaten in nearly 4 days. Im only allowed to sip on ice. Ponce de Leon and his assistant check up on my daily and explained they took a good 80% of my stomach. Tomorrow the will perform a leak test. and if everything goes will i can move to the hotel. The nurses keep coming in to check on me and to make sure im comfortable, all this with a genuine smile. They really seem to enjoy their work. I have nothing but praise for their job. I had my first shower today. it was heavens. i got my diet for the next 30 days, it seems im only allowed to drink water, broth, yogurt, premier protein shakes and juices.. no wonder i will lose weight :-). i alse got a cd rom with my surgery video on it, but i have a MAC so i can't insert it in my computer. hopefully i can watch it tomorrow in the hotel Greetings Macy

September Sleevers- How are you feeling??
Angel11 replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was 09/21/17 (8 days ago). I have no hunger at all & no interest in food. Maybe that will change in the near future? Went back to work yesterday & my incisions are still very sore. As of yesterday, down 10 pounds in 7 days. I need to exercise though. I love reading everyone's posts. We are all doing great! These struggles in the beginning, hopefully will be the toughest part. I'm on the soft foods stage: soup, yogurt, pudding & popsicles. I will say, even though, no hunger, I can't wait to be able to 'crunch' on food. I'm a chip lover Post Op & Dietician appointment this coming Monday. -

Post Surgery Tastebuds Changes: tell me yours
crocodoxie replied to GeTnBackuP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, it's aftertaste where my issue has been these last 7 weeks. I'm much more aware of aftertaste...like with different waters, etc. My tastes haven't changed otherwise, but I do find that while I adore Greek Yogurt, sometimes just the thought of yogurt now makes me go NOPE. Maybe it's the thicker texture, not sure. Hope that passes soon, miss having it. -
All of the sudden I can stand protein shakes and anything dairy
Berry78 replied to dennisdj's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I've had no issues getting my protein in since week 2 postop without protein shakes. During the healing phase it was all about milk, protein kefir (40g in 16oz), yogurt, cottage cheese and homemade broth. After I was on solids: beans, tuna, eggs, and nuts. Every meal features protein containing food. I didn't consume food that didn't have protein until I could eat 3-4oz solid meat at a sitting. Now I can have a couple meals with low protein count (still eating 6 times a day). That's how i get in fruit and veggies. -

@KH1958 here is sort of a little recap My program is very different than in the US. The liquids, puree and solids stages are over in 4 days. Meaning day of surgery, nothing, day after clear liquids, then full liquids/puree, puree and solids by day 4. We had to chew everything to puree, but we could eat solids. There were a few exceptions. No seeds what so every, even from strawberries, no fresh bread, no food that could cause bloating. Meals should not last longer than 20min, and no more than 5 oz a meal. I meal prep, so I eat a lot of the same stuff throughout the week. Like I'll make stew, portion it out, freeze and have it basically every day. I eat 4-5 meals a day still, all around 5oz. If I have a salad it's more. At least 3 of them are warm. From an very early stage I got all my protein from food, and I think that is the key. A lot of people rely on the shakes for way too long. At this stage I eat anywhere from 900-1500 kcal a day, usually under 1200. I started weight training at 3 weeks out. I was cleared then. I had to because I have a bad back and have to keep it strong. And with the surgery you lose muscles as well, so I had to make sure I lost as little as possible. I walk everywhere. I was used to walking before surgery, but I have stepped up my game since surgery. I walk about 13 000 - 20 000 steps a day. I do strength training twice a week at this point. I also swim. I have been on a break all summer, but practice has started again. For now It's only once a week for 2 hours/4000m but after Christmas it will be 3 times a week. I used to compete as a kid. I don't really do other cardio. Some hiking. A normal day for me looks like this. I get up, get ready, walk to work. As I walk, I drink about 12 oz of water Once I get to work I'll have 8.5 oz iced latte machiatto light (80 kcal) Then I'll have protein rich yogurt, lately I have added flax seeds and sesame seeds (with the coffee it's at least 20g of protein) I wait 30 min and start drinking water. Between now and next meal I'll get 12-24 oz 2h later I'll take iron and bariatric multi vitamin 1h later I'll have a portion of food, 90% of the time it's stew made from lean meat, potatoes and carrots (around 20g of protein) Wait 30min and then back to water. Again between 12-24oz I try to get my calcium supplement somewhere in here 3h after previous meal I'll eat again. Often chicken with some cream cheese sauce, or chicken and veggies (at least 20g of protein) 30 min and then water 12-24 oz I leave work and get home. I'll often have fish and salad, or some kind of meal and salad. (20g of protein) 30min and then water Depending on what I'm doing I'll have another meal again warm, or just a snack, often protein rich yogurt with berries or just some string cheese. Once a week I take a high dose D vitamin and every day I take B12 drops Depending on how much calcium I have gotten through food, I'll take another supplement at this point. I land on 80-100g of protein from food a day. I should get minimum 60. Hope that helps you a little. -
Day 16 has not been easy

My plan had me drinking water and broth days 1-7. Milk and protein shakes days 8-14. Days 15-21 were more like yogurt and pudding. Creamy and smooth, and just thick enough to need a spoon instead of a straw. Chicken and broccoli? I couldn't have imagined it.
