Suzie - I just noticed in your avatar that you have COLLAR BONES!!! Whoa!!! Major NSV!! Maybe if I'd get out and mow lawns for 6 hours I'd have collar bones, too!
  3. Wooo Hooooo, PamELa!!!! We knew you could do it! I remember well when the Bobster was writing his doctoral thesis. Seems like it took forever, but when it was done, what a relief!!! The wedding yesterday was lovely. We took a little drive around the grounds between the wedding and the reception and saw several deer. It was such a beautiful Fall day. It's 39 degrees right now and definitely looks like Fall. Had an NSV last night. We were talking with our tablemates about kids and such and I mentioned my SIL's height (6'11") I was told that I was "little"!! I have never been called "little" in my life!!!!! Short yes, but not little!!! What a great feeling!!! Off to get ready for church. After the concert tonight I can relax for a bit. Will be glad when that is out of the way. Everyone have a great day today!!
  4. NSV or a trick, when we were at the Alamo, I wanted a girl's t-shirt.. and I saw they had 2x, which is good for me. My Las Vegas girl's style shirt is a 2x (from LOVE), and it fits just right.. so I get home, put on the Alamo shirt and it's like a friggin tent on me. Either 2x girls style t-shirt is too big for me now, or they just make them BIG in texas hah. And anyone know what kind of art this thing is I bought at the street festival thing? The tin roof thing.. I have been googling and googling, and no info on them. Another stall had running horses on it I wanted to get for my mom, but didn't want to be carrying 2 around.. I figured I could find them online, but no?!
  5. Kat, congrats on the NSV. How awesome that must have felt. We spend more time out on our deck than in the house. I know the neighbors must hate it that we are out there all the time, but now that we have a fence up they don't have to worry about it anymore. Several years ago Hubby and I were on our way to the Lake when we ran across a little Amish furniture place. We ended up buy a glider that is divided in the middle by a little table. We thought that would work better than sitting side by side. Now I can rock all I want and have my glass of ice tea. Speaking of ice tea, I made my first batch of Sun Tea today. It's delicious. Love the stuff. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
  6. Snuck over at lunch and had my brows waxed! Also weird NSV? I've had to start wearing two bra's.... my back is killing me by the end of the day so I started wearing two underwire bra's at a time and it seems to help, but WHY.. do you think since I'm losing weight and my boobs are getting LONGER that they are pulling on my back more? This pain is one of the things I want to talk to the PS about tomorrow. I am having a consult but I am not hold out much hope that I can get insurance to pay, since I don't have any rashes. SERIOUSLY considering the bottle of dawn sitting near the sink though..... :girl_hug:
  7. Hey girls I am home, safe and sound. Was a great weekend. Rally was a blast, good, safe riding, concerts were great (a Van Zandt ---formerly of Lynrd Skynrd on Friday, and Foghat on Sat) were loud and lotsa fun. We left waaaaaay early this morning, so I could get back to do my part in the stock check in, then they could have done it without me. Many times through this, I work really hard, and am left feeling that way, that what I am doing does not matter, that it would be just the same without me. I don't want the thanks that isn't it, I feel superfluous just being there.....hard to explain. Anyway I am done for the day. There is a second stage NHSFR Queen pageant tonight, I skipped out. All the sun and going, and I am totally and completely exhausted. Am off to bed in a minute. Terry, my Grandma was the same way---she smoked in her hospital bed.....no real cigarette, but she mimed it, EXACTLY like she smoked, and the look of peace as she took the first drag was amazing! And she saw "boys" coming home from the war without their legs, and chastised me all the time for staring! Then she showed me the proper way to mix a cake!!! Another day she was out of bed stomping the snakes----which were actually her IV tubes and the phone cord. I so understand where you are, we told Grandma many times we loved her, but if it was time to go be with Grandpa we would be ok---but she did it on her own time.....typical Grandma. I miss her every single day! Hugs to you! Will try to do personals tomorrow, I am off to bed. Will tell you of Rick's tattoo experiences, and seeing the Dallas Cowboys---and all my new NSV's tomorrow. Worst thing about the rally (barring the sand storm.....) was being without contact with you guys!!! I called the kids, and I almost called one of you just to check that all was ok. I am addicted without a doubt!!! Kat

You crack me up, Haydee!! Richard wanted to take me out to dinner but we had to cancel due to stuff going on with mom. So I asked for a jewelry tumbler instead...LOL I got tools for Christmas! And i couldn't be happier! Can't wait for my package to come. I'll be your house is looking really good, eh? What all have you done already? I find it hard to believe you dont like cheese!? How do you eat queso and enchiladas and nachos??? What's WRONG with you????????? :confused2: Great NSV!! You'll have to wear a helmet now. KAT - So glad your son is home!!! What a wonderful surprise for you all! Gee, i can't believe you didn't just go plop yourself on their couch for a couple of hours! They would have loved that!
  9. Good morning everyone! I slept like a log last night and so did Macy. All that exercise and heat can wear a person out. When we went toobing, I made sure I had on loads of sunblock and it worked well in most places, right? Well, I had these big dandruff looking things in my hair and finally realized my scalp had burnt and was peeling. How attractive, right? Well, dd has a burnt scalp now so I know in a few days she will be shedding like an english sheepdog just like I was! Luckily she has real blonde hair so it will not be too noticeable! Is there a sunblock for hair & scalp? Terri-I think I will start a word journal. I really miss keeping one cause it is very theraputic. I loved that link of where you are going this weekend. Looks like fun! Laura-babies are fun... Especially when you can bring them back to their mom. lol But seriously, I know what you mean about the yearning to have one. Good luck! You will be a great momma! Then you will have an internal clock and wake up early like me Jane-sorry to hear about what you are going through. I wish I were there to give you a big hug! Jennifer...we miss you!! Kat-what a great NSV! I LOVE IT! Tracy-how was the meatloaf? Haydee-how was Galveston? Suzie-If we had a deck I would probably live outside! I need to get my butt in gear. Have a great day everyone! Hi Judy, Pamela and Michelle!! (if I missed someone I am sorry)
  10. Good morning.. I'll be brief... Robby and I stayed at my sisters last night..... and NSV! HUGE NSV! I fit into a pair of her jeans!!!!!!!! NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE have I been able to wear her clothes! I started whooping and hollering for her to grab the camera.. I started singing.. "I'm wearing my sisters JEANS! ohya ohya" she's like.. I CANT EVEN WEAR THOSE!!!!!!! (because of her tight gut syndrome) So then I tried on a pair of my 17 yr old neices jeans and they fit too!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on cloud nine! and right now I'm wearing a complete sister outfit to work (since I didn't have clothes with me) I'm toying with the idea of cutting my hair tonight... (this was the source of a major fight 2 weeks ago) SERIOUSLY he was fit throwing mad at the simple talk of me cutting my hair to my shoulders.. and he has since NOT SHAVED... even starting a new job.. he did not shave! HE LOOKS hideous...... don't get me started.. but I cancelled our January cruise yesterday. He found me at the daycare yesterday and blocked me in begging me to come home last night.. (reminded me of shrek) he layed on the guilt last night and this morning he already called me at work..... but instead of saying he was sorry or that he realized what an ass he has been he continues to try and make me feel guilty..... (he wants me submissive and a crying heap) So my resolve to NOT CRY is still in tact. He is a good man, but he has been acting like a class A ass since March, and I've reached my breaking point.
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE---HOPE IT IS A WONDERFUL DAY FOR YOU!!!! ENJOY!!! Good morning--well it was a long night. I just come down from up top, and I still have smoldering hot spots. For now the tree seems "out". A couple of strange spots were evident, so I moved the Water hose to those areas. We just don't have enough pressure going uphill to do a lot of good. We are discussing dropping a few hoses into the ditch and trying to get our own syphon going. We used to flood irrigate the yard that way. But the entire ditch bank is black and charred----not thinking it is going to be easy to get up there---it is a pretty steep incline. Purposely so, I mean there is a large fast running canal/ditch up there, we do not want it to be easy access.....So we put in a headgate and run water to the lower sections---which works great on gravity feed....but not so great for this. Considering, if there continue to be hotspots, calling the fire dept. back out for another spray down. They were here til after midnight, I was up til 3. Everytime I would almost relax to sleep, Rick's alarm would go off, and I of course had to go with him, I didn't want him up there alone!!! Behind our property it butts up against the High School Ag building and farm area, and then BLM land. There is a huge hill behind our house, and kids climb it often. The sports teams run it for building endurance---heck I run it daily in high school! It is commonly referred to as football hill because the football team runs it morning and night. The fire marshall thinks the liklihood is that kids were shooting some sort of bottle rocket or aerial display fireworks off of the big hill, and the sparks ignited in several areas of dry cotton. This time of year in areas around here it looks like it is snowing, the cotton blows so heavy. There are female and male cottonwood trees, and the female trees produce huge hanging pods of cotton---it blows all over and irritates the hell out of my allergies to boot! Well cottonwood trees grow along the ditchbank thick. We removed all the producing trees from our place, but there is cotton everywhere anyway. The cotton blows, and of course gathers along tree bases or fence lines--anything that stops it as it blows, and that is exactly where our fires were-------the entire perimeter of the land, all the trees....it just followed the cotton and went crazy. The entire time we are fighting the fire, and the firemen are busting their butts trying to save things you can hear the pop, pop, pop of fireworks in the distance, at the school. They radio'd for a Police officer to cruise the school area. Nothing else was said though. And I have a neighbor down the road with a 13 year old who is into everything, always in the middle of things, and he was conspicuously absent last night while the neighborhood was running around dealing with this. Us and the neighbors on either side of us got the worst of it. But it is sad, not devastating.....We did lose our shed, nothing left but a black blob! So I will call our insurance agent this morning, and have him come take a look....see what we can do. But at least I am calling him from home! I am going to look on the sign at the fire dept. and see when the next Volunteer Firefighter meeting is, I think they meet each Thursday night. I will make something and take to the meeting, and plan to write a thank you letter in our small local paper. I had an NSV in the middle of it all last night---besides actually being able to run---yep RUN up and down the hillside. They had several hoses into the ditch, and these are firehoses--large fabric hoses. They attach pump to the nozzle, and begin a syphon from the ditch. They had a LOT of areas of fire, and only about 8 volunteers here when it first broke out. The one firefighter ask Rick if he could handle the hose, he said yes and took over the big hose spraying down the shed. When the next one began pumping good, he ask the same thing of Spence (neighbor from across the street---being a good neighbor, I owe him too!), so Spence took a hose. The guy started to leave, and I told him I can use a hose on the front---and he told me he didn't think I was quit big enough to handle it!! LOL Of course it was more likely him thinking "this stupid bimbo is up here in flip flops and shorts!" But that is what I was wearing when it happen. My pedicure from yesterday----a total loss. I actually singed my shirt I was wearing! I had to get those clothes we had on out of the hamper, they stunk so badly of smoke---and I saw the edge frayed and the hem singed......and I melted my flip flops!!! Rick 9 days out of 10 will come in, and change into shorts and sandals from his jeans and steel toed boots. But I had dinner ready, and our plan was to go for a ride, so he didn't change! Oh yeah I had another loss......I went to pull the sprinkler off the roof, and when I tried to grab it I broke 3...count 'em 3 fingernails at one time! I'm supposed to go to lunch with Marie, I think we might order in and hang out here so I can keep watch. Well, I cannot stand myself, off to yet another quick shower, the stench of the smoke is killer! Will keep you posted! Thanks for all the well wishes. Nothing of sentimental value was lost. Lots of hard work destroyed.....but hey we needed something to do, right???? Hugs~ Kat
  12. Hiya HH! and one more thing........ I actually splurged on a few clothes yesterday at Dress Barn...... I NEVER buy anything that is not on sale, but yesterday I said screw it and I bought a very pretty sweater type jacket.. it is of course varying threads of purple! It is gorgeous and $59.99 (this is a lot for me to spend on 1 article of clothing) Also a couple layering blouses that WERE on Clearance.. one is white (to go under the jacket and one is a light green (to go with my eyes) The jacket is an XL and the blouses are size L. I think its time for me to go through my closet and cull out the things I don't like (its just hard for me to through out stuff that actually fits!) WEIRD NSV.
  13. Good evening, Violets. Just in from the hot tub and doing my toning exercises in there. It's 24 degrees out so it was a beautiful night to be in a hot tub under the stars. Watched American Idol and I think the right person went home. Suzie.. David is still doing great!! And my doctor is very compassionate. When we hit a plateau he just says .. do you think you need a fill? Then he says not to worry, it will come off. Just keep at it. It takes time. And I always know exactly why I stay the same or gain. It's all in my hands now. While the initial weight came off quick, it's taking forever now, but I feel so good about how far I have come. I went to a clothing store here in Alpena that I had never been to in the 24 years we have lived here. The clothing is expensive and the sizes run small. I got a couple of sweaters in size L for next winter and a Pendleton big shirt for 60% off. Such a deal and the lady who owns the shop is a member of our Alpena church. She couldn't stop gushing about how good the Bobster and I looked. Never once did she ask us how we did it.. just kept saying how amazing it was. Same thing happened at the library last Sunday. I had not seen the librarian in awhile and she was just floored. First words out of her mouth were.. "Hi... oh my gosh Judy, you've lost a lot of weight!". Those are the things that keep me going. The little NSV's that come when you're least expecting them make it all worthwhile. I just wish my parents had lived to see me finally succeed at this weight loss challenge. Ethan comes again in the morning, so I better head to bed. Hopefully I won't get konked on the head again!! Everyone have a good night. Sleep well.
  14. Holy Smokes, I couldn't find where to type last night, and thought the same thing this morning. I've been so bad on personals, I am sorry for that guys. I always pop in from work, read quick and then forget what to write. Denise~Love the houses. The one backyard looks like a nice place for the grandbabies to come over and go swimming. Tracy~Enjoy your romantic weekend! 5 years is a long time....congrats! Kat~I loved the story about your son...how wonderful for your entire family...enjoy his visit. And as far as falling apart...I hear ya. Hey, fall apart next week:wink: Haydee~I agree w/ Terry...they make helmets in so many colors these days. LOL, what a great NSV. Janie~Feel better soon. i can't remember anything else...although I know there is plenty I am missing. Today is parent/teacher conferences. And so is tomorrow...until 7pm. Susanne will be here, but we will not have major plans. We decided no gifts, just cards. Since we just had our anniversary last week. I bought her a pair of Oakley sunglasses and she bought me a beautiful leather bag! We don't need to spend anymore money. Thats all from this corner of the world. Was planning on working out today, but knees still hurt and a friend of my mine had gastric bypass yesterday so I'll take her flowers instead! She will be at hospital until tomorrow! Have a great day! xoxoxoxooxoxox

Kat, these are the NSV's I've been waiting to hear you post! Just think...every day it will get better and better. I am VERY sorry to hear that today was not a good one, but considering all the major work that was done, the fact that you're even posting is amazing! What do the other PS 'veterans' say about what to expect with the pain? 2-3 weeks?? Denise - You must be in heaven!!!!! He is just precious!!!
  16. Happy May Day. Got up and went to our monthly family breakfast and a cousin serenaded us with a May Day song and she had a May Day basket for her Mom. It was so nice. We had a great time. From there we went to Ace Hardware and I bought my tomato plants. Gonna give it a try this year. Bought a few flowers to get potted. Hubby drove there and I told him I would drive home. Funny thing. I got in and took off and didn't realize that I hadn't moved the chair back. Hubby and I are both the same height but with my extra padding around the middle and back, I always have to move the seat back. Well, no more. It was so cool to realize that. I guess that's my latest NSV. Hope you all have a great day.
  17. Good afternoon, Violets!! Just got back from an extra shift at the hospital. Next week is nursing week so they have lots of extra things that needed to get done. I'm home now with Ethan and will be here til his daddy picks him up and we leave for our church meeting. Had an NSV at the hospital today. The volunteer at the registration desk where I sign in and out was on the phone when I signed in. When I was leaving she said.. "I couldn't talk to you when you came in, but I want to know what's happened to you. You've lost a lot of weight!" That made my day!! Of course I told her about the lapband. Everyone just gives me a stunned look when I say I've had lapband surgery. I'm so glad to hear you talking about those little guys who are behind in their speech. Ethan is that way. He'll be 2 June 2nd and only says a few words. He's smart, but really delayed in speech. Hopefully mom and dad will get him tested after he turns 2 to see if he needs some speech therapy or if he's fine and is just delayed a bit. Time to go read the foot book to him for the gazillionth time! Left foot, left foot, right foot, right...............and on and on and on and on..............
  18. Well it took me about a year but I finally had a NSV or NFV or however it is spelled. I work in a hair salon so I see a lot of people every day. Most know what I had done, and they comment lightly on the subject. Well today Sue who works next to me had a client in who wanted to know who the new girl was! When she told her it was me she couldn't believe it!! Sue works mainly later at night so I don't always see her clients, so obviously I hadn't seen her in a while. It was nice and told her how special that made me feel. I know it sounds really silly, but people have been complimenting me on how much weight I have lost in the past few months, and I really haven't. So I wonder how sincere people are, and then that aggravates me. It is such a head game we play with ourselves, isn't it!! At work today we talked about the lady stuck on the toilet and we were all just howling!!! I know it is very very sad and I shouldn't be laughing, but the scenarios we came up with!?!? Oh well I think TOM is coming for a surprise visit! Jane

Gone for Good Club - April 2006

Mo, you should go ahead and start a Thread or Journal of your NSV's, your Non-scale Victories to keep you focused on the wonderful things happening with your body and life even during those times the scale doesn't move much, if at all! Blood sugar readings improved is a WONDERFUL accomplishment! How cool is that?! WTG! I lost 4.4 pounds in March. Yay! Here's to a great April everyone! Welcome to 'da CLUB!!!!!!!

    Goals of all kinds

Okay, I love reading NSV's, and SV's, and just cool stuff like that. What do you want to do? What have you done? Weight related, not weight related, just cool stuff. I'm 5 lbs from my halfway point. Started at 280, halfway will be 210, goal is 140 (ish, but for the sake of numbers, it's 140). I am Obese, no longer morbidly obese, and down from severely obese (or the other way around, I don't remember). I am a graphic designer. I always wanted to do something with art, but didn't know what. I started as a QA person for my mom's consulting agency, and then one time our client needed banners "ASAP", so I threw something together. 3 years later, I do all of their graphics exclusively. It probably would not hurt me to go back to school for some things, but I'm still pretty happy. I want to get my belly button pierced. I got it pierced before, but it never healed right because of my belly rolls and the skin touching n' stuff. I want to wear a wetsuit and not feel like a whale!! But seriously, just to be out of the "X" sizes of wetsuits would be good. I never want to look at the weight requirements for anything ever again! I know there's more, I'll have to add later. What do you want to do? What have you done? What DON'T you want to do ever again?!

    Any other September 2013 bandsters?

hey every one. i had totally lost track of this tread. good to see folks are still on track.. I'm still struggling to lose it seems that i only lose right after a fill then i am up and down the same 2 lbs till the next fill. over all i am seeing a steady decrease but it is really frustrating for the 3 wks of the month. i only eat 3 meals a day. however the snaking has gotten a little out of control lately as the slow loss is really starting to get to me. . On a NSV side of things i played a few games of bowling last night.. normally it is one game and i'm out - usually my back starts to cramp about the 5th frame and by the 10th i'm barely bowling.. last night i didn't feel a thing not that my game improved any . hope you all stay healthy happy

    A New Day

Michelle...are you finished with school for the summer? It would be nice to have a time out from it all... Dee...how is CJ doing now? I guess he enjoys the freedom of a summer schedule just as do his siblings! BTW, the Harry Potter part of Universal Orlando has a ride that you need to be small enough to fasten the safety bar in order to ride. The first time we went, I did not even try to see if I would fit. The next time, no worries...another NSV I just realized! DIANE...starting to get worried about you. Please post or text that you and yours are well. Will be back tomorrow. Big hugs all around...
