  1. I had a moment this morning. I got out of the shower, dried off and wrapped the towel around my entire body! I realized I hadn't done that in a few years. I could barely get it around my top before but not around my bottom. Then when I got dressed, I notice I had to go in two notches. Yay for the nsv's. HW 236, DOS 234 on 11/29, Current 221 as of 12/7. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  2. That doesn't sound good Mimz. Stay strong. I had an NSV last night whilst shopping at Target. Finally got around to buying smaller underwear. Yay!

    My Legs Hurt :(

Over the last week or so I've been concerned about the outter upper area of my calves hurting. Well my nurse instinct took over and I thought...well I'm a woman on birth control after surgery who used to smoke ALOT sooooo **** do I have a blood clot? Oh I don't want a blood clot, I don't want to go to the hospital, I don't want endless lovenox shots, I don't want to be on coumadin for the rest of my life But its both legs, same exact place, no redness, no swelling, just a kinda tender. I don't run or anything that it might be a pulled muscle causing the pain, so what in the world is wrong with me. Well after some time and paying closer attention to my daily habits I have come to realize that my outter upper calves hurt because thats where my bony knees dig into my calf when I cross my legs...thats right my smaller thighs are causing me calf pain cuz I can finally cross my legs like a woman instead of a linebacker pretty sure I couldn't even do that in HS. A bit of a tender NSV but a NSV nonetheless
  8. How is everybody doing? Just curious to see how my other October sleevers are progressing. Any challenges? Any NSVs? What are you eating? I was sleeved 10/11/12 Starting Weight 278 Day of Surgery 273 (Weigh day tomorrow) - as of last week down 33 pounds 245 I am eating 3 meals (2 ounces of protein and a bit of other stuff, one shake per day) and some days one snack, some days two snacks (a cheese stick or an ounce of turkey pepperoni) I am watching my carbs but not really concerned with my fat. Average about 60 grams protein a day and low 600 calories. Carbs are usually in the 20 - 30 gram range. What about you?

    Nsv..

NSV this morning. I took off my "big girl" panties and threw them away, along with several other pair. It was weird because I was thinking (for the last 20lbs) that I could still get some use out of them. But there comes a point when you just have to let go. Thankfully I had others in a smaller size that I haven't been able to wear in a while. Yay for goodbye to huge panties!! haha

What Nsvs Are You Looking Forward To?

Started the year at 5'6" 373lbs, I was sleeved on June 5 this year. I'm currently 219. Here is a small list of the nsv's I've hit so far Ran a 5k with my teenage son Don't have to use the handicap potty in public restrooms Sit comfortably in a booth at a restaurant Don't have to hold my breath to tie my shoes My kids can hug me and touch hands behind my back for the first time in their lives I can buy clothes off the rack in almost any store now I have unsubscribed to casual male xl Got down to the weight I was when I got married 17 years ago Doctor took me off all of my bp meds Skinny sex is more fun Nsv's I'm still looking forward to Throwing my clap machine off a cliff that I had just climbed! Rock climbing. Even if it's just a rock wall, still not sure if I'm ready to try, but I wanna Being able to do 10 real chin ups 10k Good luck, If I can be successful at this, trust me, anyone can
  12. A new year and a new body! My goal for 2013 is to drop 100lbs! But I'm also really looking forward to some of those non-scale victories, even if they take a little longer. Here's some items from my wishlist: - No more squeezing into tiny bathroom stalls! Though I swear some of them have the TP dispenser at the worst place possible to really CRAM your legs in there! - Going to a clothing store and not having to search for the "plus" side. - Not having my knees grinding under my weight when I go up and down stairs. - Wearing a swimsuit that doesn't have a freaking skirt attached - Wearing dresses and not having my thighs rub together til they're raw - Boots! I want a pair of freaking BOOTS! - I want guys to try and pick me up. Not that they'll get me (I'm married), but it'll make me feel sexy. What are some goals everyone else has -- crazy or non??
  13. I just realized that this will be THE FIRST YEAR IN OVER 20 YEARS that my New Year's Resolution WILL NOT be to lose weight!!!!!!! I can focus on so many more things now and am not paralyzed by the thought process of what diet to start, what shake to drink, what foods to avoid. OMG, this is just the best. I have 19 more lbs to goal and I can actually see the finish line....A M A Z I N G!!!!!
  14. 20 months post surgery...normal weight, fit and in good health..... To walk your daughter down the aisle a new man....!! Hey Men...this is what you can look forward to! And who says this surgery isn't worth it! \ \ \ \

    Nsv- One I Never Expected!

That is absolutely fantastic!!!! Congrats to you. I love to hear stories like this. A wonderful NSV!
  16. Awesome NSV! So cute. Don't agonize over when the right time to tell him might be. This will come naturally. Honey, he is going to notice that you are losing weight. Eventually he might even see your scars. Two plus two = WLS If he is the man you think he is, he will only be happy that you took charge of your own health. Thanks for making me smile tonight!
  17. The other night my boyfriend and I were cuddling on the couch and he had his head on my chest. Out of nowhere he said "you must be in a good shape." I said "HUH?" He repeated himself. I still didn't know what he meant but I never thought I'd hear those words in my life! He said "your heart rate is ___. That's really healthy." (I don't remember what it was exactly.) Yes, he's a nerd. But he's also a cardiology nurse. He knows I've lost weight but not about the VSG. I'm five months post-op and I've known him for less than 3. I keep saying I'm going to tell him but I always chicken out when I'm with him. I've lost 130 and still have probably 90 pounds to lose but after 28+ years of being obese I NEVER expected to hear myself described as "in good shape." However, I have noticed a decrease in my heart rate. I check it before, during and after a work out. I love the NSVs!!! There are so many you anticipate and look forward to and yet still so many you can't even imagine. I hope VSG has positively impacted your life as much as it has mine!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Hi all. Sorry I didn't post last Monday. I was at 174.5 which was the same as the previous Monday. I did we'll with Thanksgiving, we went to our friends' house. They sent home some leftovers but one meal of leftovers is certainly better than a houseful! Yesterday I was at 170.5 for a total loss of 81 pounds. I'd like to be at 85 by Christmas but I'm hesitant to make that a "goal". It seems like anytime I set a specific goal I end up sabotaging myself; but if I just plug along and see what happens my results are always better. I should probably reflect more on that! On the topic of alcohol, I'm still okay with wine (my poison of choice). I haven't tried any liquor drinks, but I have a feeling they would hit me a lot faster. I try to stay away from beer because of the carbonation. If I do have beer I usually go VERY slowly and end up giving half of it to my hubby. Two NSV's - bought a pair of size 12 (curvy fit) pants; now I just need to focus on my thunder thighs and bat wings! I also survived my first holiday open house. I did about one small round of grazing, didn't even fill up a small plate, and I was done (plus two glasses of wine - told you it was my fave!) Prior to the band I would have stood at the table without a plate and just gnoshed!

    Nsv:)

I have been with my husband for almost 15 years and for most of that time my husband has never been able to pick me up without looking like he was about to die! Well today after we got home from work out of the blue he picked me up:). AND he didn't act like he was break in half. The little things that come from having the sleeve are really making me so happy I got the sleeve:). Just thought I would share

    Cooln Nsv

    Awesome nsv!!!!! Congrats!
  22. I had to share and y'all on this site are truly the only people that would understand. Today I bought concert tickets for August 2013. I'm hoping to be sleeved in February 2013. Up until now I would have made an excuse not to go because I know I would never fit in freaking seat!! But today I am certain that by August I will not only fit in the seat comfortably but I'll be able to walk up and down the arena stairs without embarrassing myself. So excited!!
  23. Ok..for me this was a very cool NSV. So I was helping my hubby with outside lights for Christmas on the house...up and down all day..in and out of the attic I went and before long..all the lights were up and everything looked great..as my hubby and I were chatting in bed after a long days work...I realized..man I got up in the attic...like 10 xs and not once did I stop to think....I have to rest a second..I am out of breath....is this ladder going to hold me..oooopppsss..turn sideways because your fat behind won't fit in the square hole in the ceiling...get your balance..don't fall..you can't lift that box and go down the ladder at the same time because you can't fit....nope..none of that crossed my mind..because I could do all of that without thought..in fact..I went up in the attic just because I damn well could...stood up and about wept because it has been years since I could do that...just go up there because I could..thank you sleeve..you are a life changer!

    Ups And Downs

Sorry for your loss and congrats on your NSV's!
  25. I've always thought Hue makes the best opaque control top tights. But at sizes 4 and 5 they only come in black and brown. Today I fit into a size 3 of a grey pair I bought long ago for "just in case." Now I'll be able to get purple and pink and orange and blue and every color under the sun!!! Yay!!! (Not that I will get orange . But I can!!) Yay!!
