Welcome SueBee!! What an amazing journey for you...and you've joined a great group of people on this board! JDI...I'm not doing so well so far with our exercise goal. Ugh! on top of TTOTM, I'm sick...sniffly and coughing my head off...which, by the way, feels like its going to explode. I didn't get on the scale today so I have no weight to post...and since its TTOTM...I'm not exactly excited about posting anyway. I'll jump back in next Monday on that one. NJ2NC..it does sound like you could be ready for a fill. Just remember to take those NSV's when the scale isn't moving. Remember that the success is not always the number on the scale. You're doing great...we're all doing great! Horsegirl...I know what you mean. I didn't think I was ever going to break that 200 barrier. Do you have a lot of dairy in your diet? Someone told me lessen the dairy, that helped them get over a plateau. It was while back and I think on another thread. But, I switched from milk to almond milk for my protein shakes, and stopped eating cottage cheese as my snack and switched to harder cheese like sharp cheddar. I also didn't eat as much of it...and at that point I did see some movement on the scale. Now its second nature to me so I really can't use that for myself anymore. I did have to have a slight unfill last week. Doc took out the .2cc's I had just had put back in a month ago. This sinus drainage had started wreaking havoc on my eating ability again. I had started having trouble getting a protein shake down again, so I went in on my own. Now I feel like I'm able to eat whatever I want, so I've GOT to take more stock in what I'm choosing. I also have to start measuring again. Ya'll keep me accountable! Sweet dreams everyone & God bless!

NSV #1 - So I am at the dog park today walking with one of my male dog park friends. As we are walking, one moment we are talking away, the next moment I am on the ground!! I was knocked over from behind by a dog. Needless to say I was in shock and a little embarrassed, but here is the good part. My male friend offers me his had to help me up; the first thing running through my mind is OMG he is not going to be able to pull me up!! WELL pull me up he did, I actually felt "light" if you ladies know what I mean, he didn't have to grunt or bend over!! Thinking of this now it was an amazing moment, I haven't felt like a "light" woman in a very, very long time. NSV #2 - I was in the ladies clothes store purchasing some new clothes as I hardly have any left that fit me right. So at one point I was asking for a jacket on the wall that the saleslady had to take down for me. So she says to me," Well you must be a size 11 but may need a 13 for your broad shoulders". A SIZE 11!!!!!!!! OMG when have I ever been a size 11, well I can't really tell you how I felt: to be recognized as a "normal" size person and not an obese one. It is definitely one of the best weight loss moments of my life!!!!

Oh fantastic, great NSV, keep at it!!

That is terrific!!!! Even though I am a fellow sleever, I definitely would have tapped into the cooking sherry (or shall I say chocolate pizza)! (Even if it were just one bite!!! That is a great NSV!!! ;0)

NSV this morning I fitted into my size M BeMe shirt that my mother optimistically bought for me about 12 months ago. It even has satin trim on it - that's a non-stretch material lol And it fits great!!! What an awesome way to start my Monday!!!! Hope you're all having similarly good days!

Good deal! I'm still pre-op (surgery on Dec 20) and I havent offically stopped yet. I switched to Diet, which is slowing me down, but I still crave that sizzle. I know I won't have the option after surgery - and I would be to scare to even try. Good for you for kicking that habit early...and yes, that's a NSV!

I agree with OTR.... I think it's you Chad2Rad... That's a great NSV. I think it's just a clever way way for women to come on to you or show that she interested. Believe me... if she wasnt... you wouldn't get that kind of attention. Congrats on the weight loss!!!

Ok so i recently went to victoria secret , i wanted to see if the clothing would fit me. I go in and pick out cute sweatpants in a size Large, the sales girl looks at me and says " these sweatpants are boyfriend cut , meaning they run a little big, you should get a medium" , i look at her in utter shock! Could you imagine, she thought i should get a smaller size?! In December i was a size 24 or 2xl..... Now a large!!! Unreal..... ( my surgery was 10/3/12)

So I went to a seminar back in May that first introduced me to wls. Of all the things I heard the biggest challenge I felt was going to be the pop thing. You know...the part where you can't really have it anymore. At the time my habit was 4-8 cans a day which I've had for the past 15-20 years (I'm 30). I knew if I couldn't kick that habit I wouldn't ever be able to have the surgery. I mean I knew this was just one of many new rules we have to live by but if I couldn't do this then none of the other stuff mattered. The day of the seminar was the last day for 7 months. Over Thanksgiving I've tried pop again half scared, half curious about my reaction to it since I was so addicted to the stuff. The circumstance came about when there wasn't any water to be had at the party. Well they had water, but it was horrible tasting water and I couldn't drink it. I had half a can of pop. I've since also had a couple tastes of moscato di asti and couple more tastes of pop when there's been no alternative. The result is unexpectedly happy. I don't really like too much of it. The bubbles are too much and it burns going down and then I get all burpy. I can't help but laugh about it since I really thought I'd have something like an alcoholics reaction to their favorite drink, one taste and that would be the end of sobriety for a while. I can't believe I really prefer water but I do. The reverse osmosis machine at our house is wonderfully helpful since it gets a lot of the funny tastes out of our well water. It's been well worth the price. i'm preop but I do believe this is an nsv!

so today I had to go to a wedding .... needed some pantyhose...went to Lane Bryant. But was told Lane Bryant doesnt sell pantyhose any longer, just tights...control top tights... I havent worn tights in 40 years! But in a rush bought them anyway. Got home started getting dressed and this is how it goes..... The skirt I planned to wear was too big...had to change to a black dress I have, it was ok...but kinda baggy. Picked out a "sexy" kind of bra thats always been "tight"...it isnt anymore!! Put on the tights, without a problem!! My black dress shoes were too big too!! had to wear a flat pair! Dont get me wrong, I love the fact that everything is getting bigger...and I am getting slimmer. But wow! all at once?

My friend, Carolinagirl, that is an awesome NSV. I had that problem before losing 100 lbs, too. I can't remember when I noticed that I could lift my leg to put on my socks. But, it was a darn good feeling!!!Congrats on you weightloss. Karen -
No longer classified as obese according to the Bmi calculator. My Bmi went from 42 the day of surgery to 29.9today. Yay!

I had a moment this morning. I got out of the shower, dried off and wrapped the towel around my entire body! I realized I hadn't done that in a few years. I could barely get it around my top before but not around my bottom. Then when I got dressed, I notice I had to go in two notches. Yay for the nsv's. HW 236, DOS 234 on 11/29, Current 221 as of 12/7. Over the last week or so I've been concerned about the outter upper area of my calves hurting. Well my nurse instinct took over and I thought...well I'm a woman on birth control after surgery who used to smoke ALOT sooooo **** do I have a blood clot? Oh I don't want a blood clot, I don't want to go to the hospital, I don't want endless lovenox shots, I don't want to be on coumadin for the rest of my life But its both legs, same exact place, no redness, no swelling, just a kinda tender. I don't run or anything that it might be a pulled muscle causing the pain, so what in the world is wrong with me. Well after some time and paying closer attention to my daily habits I have come to realize that my outter upper calves hurt because thats where my bony knees dig into my calf when I cross my legs...thats right my smaller thighs are causing me calf pain cuz I can finally cross my legs like a woman instead of a linebacker pretty sure I couldn't even do that in HS. A bit of a tender NSV but a NSV nonetheless

Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
suejersey replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How is everybody doing? Just curious to see how my other October sleevers are progressing. Any challenges? Any NSVs? What are you eating? I was sleeved 10/11/12 Starting Weight 278 Day of Surgery 273 (Weigh day tomorrow) - as of last week down 33 pounds 245 I am eating 3 meals (2 ounces of protein and a bit of other stuff, one shake per day) and some days one snack, some days two snacks (a cheese stick or an ounce of turkey pepperoni) I am watching my carbs but not really concerned with my fat. Average about 60 grams protein a day and low 600 calories. Carbs are usually in the 20 - 30 gram range. What about you? -
NSV this morning. I took off my "big girl" panties and threw them away, along with several other pair. It was weird because I was thinking (for the last 20lbs) that I could still get some use out of them. But there comes a point when you just have to let go. Thankfully I had others in a smaller size that I haven't been able to wear in a while. Yay for goodbye to huge panties!! haha
