SpaceyCasey replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I love the nsvs! This truly is the best thing I've done for myself! I remember this time last year just feeling so defeated by my weight and so so very scared to do this sugery! I'm so glad god gave me the strength to finally go through with it! It's crazy what a huge difference just a year makes! -

Amazing NSV, I went to my WLS support group meeting and a girl I haven't seen in a while nearly feel out of her chair. Her eyes popped out of her head and she said " OMG you look amazing, you whole body has shrunk!" It made my night! -

I accidently uploaded my current progress photo to facebook. My friends and family wrote such nice things about how I look, it made my day! I decided to print it out so when I have a bad day I can read about what a hot smoking mama I am...hahaha. It is like taking the compliments you get while losing weight and bottling them up to use when I need them.

Just wanted to share a small NSV that is only one of many I have experienced.... Yesterday I caught a glimpse if myself side view in the mirror and actually thought to myself....damn I'm getting skinny! So today I put on a pair of jeans that I loved so much but could only wear unbuttoned with a belt to hold them closed and a long shirt.... Today... Buttoned and belted but to hold them up!!!! I have never regretted this surgery for one second and doubt I ever will...40 pounds, 5 months and feelings years younger. 58 to go!!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

My first NSVs! Surgery date 11/26 weight loss since surgery 10lbs, total loss since starting WLS process 24 1. Can go up and down my stairs at home with NO knee pain or constant knee joint popping 2. Have had 2 people who do not know I had surgery tell me I look like I've lost weight!! 3. My rings are too loose and will need to be sized 4. I can zip up my boots without using pliers Even though the scale only shows a 10lb loss since surgery the NSVs are more than making up for it!!!

Saw the first photo since starting this journey that i loved this week. I have been really struggling with still seeing myself as fat. I'm now 62.5kg but until seeing this photo, still felt like I was 100kg. I won't post the pic because it has my daughter in it, but thought I'd share my NSV.

Well make that a few this time around. Another bag of undies went into the bin this morning. Two pounds away from a total of 80 pounds lost, which fingers crossed will be in a few days. Five pairs of shoes gone to the op shop, they were falling off my feet. And another bag of clothes out the door this morning also. My wardrobe is getting very bare. Will wait till Christmas sales to go get a couple of new things. To those of you just starting out or at plateau keep at it those are just temporary stalls. When I looked back at my stats I record every day I realise I was in a kinda of a plateau for a few months, I still lost but some weeks it was gaining and loosing the same few pounds over and over. I stayed strong and on my new path and these last few weeks the weight is melting off again. Persistence and patience is the key. Oh and an edit , bmi is now at 49 compared to 62.8 at the start of the year.

Cause I kicked it all out! I went to my PCP today for a follow up on my high blood pressure. When I was banded I was on 3 different medicines to control it. About 3 months ago my PCP took me off the last one and said we will monitor your pressure and see how you do. I was so proud of myself, for the last three months I have posted how I went from 3 meds to no meds… Well, today my doctor put me back on one of the meds at half the dosage. I was so disappointed in myself. I felt like I had failed, that NSV pulled right out from under me. I wanted to cry. I pouted all the way home. I know this is something that is not in my control. Everyone in my family has high blood pressure (the skinny ones too) and I know this could be genetic. But, dang it feels like I went backwards. To make myself feel better I went shopping for new pajamas. Mine where too big and the pants would fall off me as I slept (hubby didn’t mine this). Anyway, I got me some cute new PJs. See! Now time to put all my sand back in my sandbox. Thanks for listening.

In need of a little encouragement or wisdom.

I looked at your profile page and you have started out at a higher BMI. So it might take a little longer to be absolutely apparent....But it will happen. All of a sudden you are going to be standing there and if you don't have a belt on, your pants will just fall off.....You will be losing inches really soon and none of your cloths are going to fit. This is called and NSV! Yet, you better get that pocket book ready! It will happen...... CONGRATS on losing 89 lb that is nothing to sneeze at! Heck, that's a lot more than I have lost totally.....So proud of you..... -

That is great NSV, congratulations! Sent from my iPad using VST -
The NSV's are the best. I am 7 weeks out and have lost 31 pounds, post op. But, I went from a 2-3x shirt to a loose(not falling off) x large. My pants (that have remained after disposing too big's) are still bigger than I'd like. Pants went from a 24 to a 20 (maybe 18, if I have an elastic waist).

One Year - 133 pounds gone - a new life! Photos...
CowgirlJane posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have a million things to say, but this has been both a very hard but also the very best year of my recent life. Wow, I am just thrilled! When I see that before photo, I remember and still love her. I love how brave she was to keep trying, no matter how many failures at getting the weight off. I think she looks hideous on the outside but I know she was beautiful and strong on the inside, it was just so hard to see under the fatsuit. So - starting weight size 308/ size 26W stuffed Current 175/size 12 loose - can wear most size 10s and even a size 8 skirt the other day! NSV - a million of them! -
