@@Sara Crowley "I am way excited about the GENEPRO I can put 2 tbsp. (if it tastes alright lol ) in a broth and have most my Protein and I wont have to worry about it. At work I forget to eat so it would be great to get most of the protein all at once :)" Is that one scoop (30g protein)? One thing my otherwise pretty laid-back doc did really insist upon is that I remember to not bother going over 30g protein per meal...he said it's pretty well proven that most of us can absorb only 30g or a little less at a time. I'd just hate for you to waste that expensive powder and it not be put to good use by your body.

    Help me!

I use Musclegen Research GENEPRO Molecular Tri Protein Peptide. I put one scoop in 3/4 cup of 2% Braum's milk, along with half a packet of Carnation Breakfast Essentials No Sugar. The Genepro dissolves completely with very little taste and the Carnation Breakfast Essential favors the milk nicely. You get 30 grams of protein with each tablespoon scoop. You can also mix the Genepro with anything...yogurt, oatmeal, milk poured over Cereal, etc. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Smoothies

Genepro protein powder is the best! It is odorless and tasteless. I order mine from Amazon and I make smoothies with it and I mix it in my yogurt and hot chocolate. Doesn't change the taste or texture at all.

    Late night

Hey! Where do you buy your Genepro from -- Amazon? Currently on Protein shakes but if I can mix it into my food later that'd be cool too. Can't wait till next week when I can have pudding. Do you think it's the best flavorless Protein powder?
  7. Maybe try adding Genepro unflavored protein to broth or other foods.

    November 2015 Sleevers?

I was sleeved 11/23. HW 240, SW 232 CW 199. I can start full diet this week, but honestly I have had no urge or tolerance to go beyond yogurt, Fairlife milk, cottage cheese and Genepro protein mixed into tea and water. I can tolerate 1-2 tablespoons of anything, but since I can't eat more than that, I usually don't bother preparing anything. The one thing I have found super easy to go down is cocktail shrimp. I had zero pain after surgery, but significant nausea. I returned to work 4 days after surgery. I struggle more with getting in the RDA of 4700 mg of potassium than anything else, and have to drink low sodium V8 to even get halfway there. I haven't started exercising in earnest yet, and other than trying to get my daily steps up, I'm not pushing until the weight loss slows down because my calories still haven't made it over 500 per day and I am pretty weak. While I miss the social aspect of eating and drinking a little, I have zero regrets. At 2.4 pounds per week average loss for the past 3 weeks, my loss is slower than some, but steady, and I will be thrilled if I end up at goal around a year.

    Need Advice/Help Please

I bought GENEPRO powdered Protein on Amazon. It has saved me! I put 2 scoops in a 2 cup measuring cup & one crystal lite pink lemonade (for a 16 oz bottle of water). I keep that in the fridge & sip on it all day. I get 60 G protein that way. You have to find what you can tolerate. I love hot tomato juice so I drink 1/2 cup & feel like I'm cheating. I can't stand most of the Protein shakes so I don't drink them. If you can tolerate any kind of sugar-free drink, you can put the powder protein in it. Gatorade will give you electrolytes. Put the protein in that & sip on an oz every 15 min. I had my sleeve done on July 21. I developed a nasty abscess behind my main incision so I've been dealing with that. I ended up back in the hosp for 4 days. My point is that this is just a short period of time & you can do this! It's all worth it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    My body feels awful...

I love the Genepro... It saved me... I put it in apple juice... I too could not get all my water and protein in... Made me gag... I am 9 weeks out and I can tell you it gets better! I now out my Genepro in V8 juice! The thing that saved me was sugar free Popsicles .... They kept me hydrated . Good luck!
  13. @@JennsinCA Hi, Can you tell me where you purchase genepro? I am currently using pure protein in a shake, but I like the idea of adding it to yogurt. I looked online but was not able to find it. Thanks
  14. I am buying 5oz greek yogurts that have 11g protein and then I put 1 scoop/1TBS of genepro unflavored protein powder (30g) and that gives me 41g of protein in 5oz of yogurt. If I can get down 2 of those a day that gives me 82g of protein which is pretty good for only 10oz
  15. 5 1/2 weeks post op.. starting weight 239.. pre-op weight 233..post op 203 Will I ever catch up with my thirst again? I probably get down about 35 to 40 ounces of liquids a day and I am still dieing of thirst! Not going to lie my protien intake sucks! Water still feels heavy on my stomach..protein shakes are so heavy and yucky to me now.. will be ordering some genepro! But my urine scares me it's a liquid gold not pretty light and clear like it used to be! Watered down crystal light and orange juice is all this sleeve likes at the moment! ! Watered down apple juice (kinda). I feel as if I sip ALL day! All I wanna do is drink... I am truly not hungry!! I admit I drink alot more than I eat. I truly do not want my kidneys to fail on me or my bladder to get infected! Please any sugesstions on how to get down more liquids?!
  16. So glad to read other people using genepro. I use it every day and I am almost 1 month post op and still on purée diet. I add it to my coffee, tea, cream of wheat and soups.. by far the best I have had since I can't stomach protein drinks anymore..
  17. Isopure had the biggest scoop ugh! Just ordered genepro
  18. I was feeling the same way but after my consult with my dietician I feel better she recommended GENEPRO unflavored Protein powder. I found it on Amazon. I plan to use this post op it has no flavor and can be mixed with anything including Water to help get in all your protein. I am using Premier Protein shakes for pre op. Good Luck to you!
  19. Oh, yeah, I guess I wasn't clear. I'm stocking up on pretty much all of the variety/sampler packs I can find, plus I got a tub each of unjury and GENEPRO unflavored. I did get a full tub of a key lime pie though because it's my absolute favorite flavor for everything, but I'll probably mostly finish it pre-op.
  20. @@jdg I use genepro and add to my food. 30g a scoop and it doesn't change the consistency or taste. I tried isopure plain and it was horrible. I'm in the process of trying to get away from shakes and get my protein from food. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Protein shakes??

I just started full liquid yesterday. Day two and i have 4 different flavors.. well 5.. but the 5th one (caramel) i bought reserved to use as creamer. I have peaches n cream, cookies n cream, chocolate and bananas n cream. I dont think i bought the strawberry but not sure. Then when i am done with these i have 3 cases of protein2o and i also have genepro( 90 day supply). I think i am set on additional protein for awhile-considering the daily supplement after the initial liquid stage is only 30 per day LOLOL.

    Protein Powder

Hello all I am new to this forum and scheduled for surgery on April 21 and today I purchased premiere Protein shakes but didn't see any unflavored powder at Costco's for my soup. I saw a youtube tutorial where a young lady was talking about GENEPRO and asked my nutritionist about it and she looked it up and didn't recommend it so I didn't order it. advice pls!!!
  23. @@ShannonbKSU I don't have the packets (I got the big ol' tubs), but I believe the individual packets are meant to be a 'one-time use' deal. I think you would use one packet of the Protein powder for one full shake. I use a whole scoop of powder, a full packet of individual Crystal Light mix, and a whole bottle of Water (a 16.9 oz bottle). You could probably use a 20 oz bottle of water and that would work, too. Then, shake it up, add some ice, and BOOM, you're done! I have GENEPRO ordered via Amazon and en route to me...it is a unflavored poweder so I think I am just going to mix it into random stuff and see how it goes. Soup, crystal light, coffee....etc. It has glowing reviews from everyone who has tried it. I will probably post once I try it and give my 2 cents. Also- I bought some Snapware storage containers this weekend for my Protein Powder. The bottles that Syntrax puts the powder in does not fit in my cabinets. I got these for $9 each at my local store and they work perfectly. I just wrote the flavor on a piece of painters tape (removable) so I could tell them apart. Here is a link if anyone is looking for a container that fits a whole jug of Syntrax (or other powder): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004173R76/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Cheers- and happy Monday to all!

    Genepro Protein?

And that's what it all comes down to, right? Believe what we want, based on the information available. You are telling me that GENEPRO is great because you do this stuff all day every day. The owner of Genepro claims it is great because he is shrinking molecules. My question now becomes, if what you are saying is accurate, then why isn't HE saying that? Why go on record with some fantastical claim? This is rhetorical of course. I do not expect you to work on Christmas, nor do I expect you to answer for someone else. And with all due respect, your response does not address my experience with the staff at my own medical program. I guess I am just talking to the wrong people or asking the wrong questions. Or maybe I just got lucky and I have the only ones out there who aren't doing the same research you say I need to do to come to the conclusion you have drawn. In any event, I do not need to go read a bunch of studies so I can feel comfortable about a product I don't really need or want. And it is not important enough for me to argue about. So this will be all for me on this as well.

    Genepro Protein?

I use GENEPRO for the most unscientific and unsophisticated reason: I can waltz right in to GNC near my house and buy it. I don't have to wait for it in the mail. I put it in EVERYTHING. Thank you very much for contributing to the conversation, @Sai. Wow, we've got an amazing array of peeps here on the forum. AND WOW, look at this conversation....people disagreeing in a civil and adult manner here on the BP forum. ***High fives all around*** Once again, @@LittleBill for Forum Dad.
