Why don't more people use Genepro?

I'm not sure why more people don't use Genepro, but I love it. I've been using it since after surgery and so far so good. It may be because you have to order it online and some folks don't want to wait. I've seen skeptics and downright haters of this particular product because it seems unbelievable to them that it could do what it claims to do. Kinda like my grandmother the first time she saw me with a cell phone.

    I hate protein shakes

Ugh... the damn thing double quoted for some reason. Sorry. As I said though, there are people on this board that swear by it because their blood test came back good after their 6 month or whatever. However unless you are talking more than a year, that could be from breaking down their own muscle tissue or the fact that they are getting the minimum needed from their diet to be in the normal range. Genepro is pretty much just BCAA's (amino acids that build proteins). That would leave protein markers in the bloodstream. Now, with all of that being said. If someone chooses to use it, it's no skin off my nose and doesn't matter to me one way or another.

    I hate protein shakes

GENEPRO has been the best Protein supplement I have found. It mixes into literally everything hot or cold with no issues and you can't beat 30 grams of protein a pop! I buy mine on Amazon. Sent from my VS500 using the BariatricPal App

    No protein

Genepro sold at gnc and amazon is really good in hot beverages, soups it will turn clear liquids kinda milky but to me there is hardly any taste. Never tried it in straight water though. Keep hot liquids unDer 140degrees Fahrenheit

    Pure Protein Bars

no the pure [Protein are wonderful it is the GENEPRO brand that has the law suit as I understand it. still good product but they were inflating the amount of protein in their products. sorry I was not clearer

Pre and post op liquid stages

unjury, Syntrax nectar and GENEPRO taste good and are 100% Protein isolate (that is most absorbable - no "junk" protein).

    Coffee

I have a large cup of decaf every day with a scoop of Genepro protein, a couple of teaspoons of powdered creamer, and an ounce of Jordan's Skinny Syrups in Caramel. LOVE it!
  8. Musclegen GENEPRO is awesome!! 30g of Protein in one very small scoop. I add it to all kinds of things and can barely taste it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I add Genepro to my coffee every morning. I love that it virtually vanishes into the cup - no taste or odor.
  10. When it comes to unflavored protein powders - are Unjury and Genepro TRULY unflavored? I tried Isopure unflavored and it was definitely not unflavored. It also made my Crystal Light thicker, which was gross. Please let me know what you think!!

    First Post Op Doc Visit

Hey all I must say who ever the ones that posted about the GENEPRO Protein thank god for you angels you all saved my life. I ordered this from amazon 45 scoops at 50.00 and it's damn well worth it. I used it my chicken broth because I wanted something hot being it's so cold outside I don't drink coffee but I wanted to get my protein in first before anything and I used it and OMG!!!! AWESOME!!!! No taste and if didn't change the consistency I will drink thus forever thanks soooo much BP's Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. 1) your nut is an idiot by setting too high of expectations. I was down 17 pounds at 2 1/2 months and I never considered myself a slow loser. 2) drink more Water. You should shoot for 64 oz but more is better....I get closer to 100oz most days. 3)as for loriemoms nut saying shakes are artificial Protein, she, too, is an idiot. whey protein is simply the liquid portion of milk that settles to the top during the cheese making process....just like what settles out of yogurt or cottage cheese. There's nothing artificial about it. In fact, it is the number one, fastest, best absorbed form of protein available. Better than meat, eggs, tofu, fish, etc. GENEPRO, however IS artificial. It is a chemically modified molecule that started out as protein but no longer is. The company is a quack and cannot provide any amino acid profile for their product and has absolutely no science based studies supporting their claims or even show if our bodies can absorb it. Anyone with a basic understanding of biochemistry can look at their product and see it's not really protein. Good luck, you are doing great!

    Just getting started

I use premier Protein for one meal and then GENEPRO medical grade powder missed with something for another meal ( it's pretty gross) - the body can't absorb more than 30 at a time I read - so I do it at two separate meals Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I am on my fourth week post op (June 21 surgery) and I have been doing fine on Protein shakes until the last few days. My diet plan called for two weeks of liquids followed by two weeks of purée (but no meats and no eggs). With two Protein Shakes a day, I was meeting my protein goal (getting close to 70 g). Now I dread drinking them. I get nauseated while drinking and even gagged this morning. I used to be able to drink all 8 oz and now I am lucky to get six in before giving up. I do the purée food at each meal but the only way to get the protein in is through the shakes. So I am pretty frustrated. Any suggestions? I do have lift drinks but not a huge fan and it takes me a long time to work through them. I have also done a scoop of GENEPRO in unsweetened iced tea. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Scared out of my mind

I'm going in June 8th. These Protein shakes are milk based and the protein powders don't dissolve well in Water. What do I do? I've heard GENEPRO dissolves better in water and it's tasteless. HELP???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Went to my 12 mo. post op last week. I've lost 90 lbs. total but have not lost a pound in the last 4 months. The PA said i'm doing great and that stalls are common however you and I know I should have lost some weight in the last three months. Very frustrated and to be honest quite weepy over the whole thing. I swore that I would not be one of those that fail. I'm doing everything different this time (this diet) than I have done before. First thing I did was to forgive myself for gaining it all and allowing myself to be kinder and gentler with myself.....well I think I forgave myself into one too many slices of apple pie. I also increased my activity and have been walking/bending/stretching/hauling (we are clearing land of dead trees....thats some pretty awesome exercise). I have struggled with low Protein numbers since day one. I developed a sensitivity to the Protein shakes early on as i had to do the pre op diet twice because i had to cancel surgery due to a death in the family. It kind of scared me off all Protein drinks and I just can't eat enough to get enough of the protein in. Getting real......I need to put my big girl pants on and drink the damn protein. Its the answer to my problem I know this. I need to increase my Water intake....two simple things that I can do to be successful. The PA at my Dr.s suggested MR Musclegen Research GENEPRO medical grade protein (amazon.com) Its flavorless and I've only had one serving (in coffee) and it went down ok. The thing that sets this apart is a different method of creating it that is supposed to be more gentle on your tummy and it contains 30 gm in one tablespoon. My question.....have you used this product? What are you mixing it in? can you bake with it? Where are you buying it from...this stuffs pricy? Any other helpful tidbits for those of you past the 8 month stall?
  17. Make sure you have enough protein shakes to last for one or two weeks...I WAY over bought and have had to throw expired stuff away. Even if you like something before surgery, there is no guarantee you will like it after! However, I second the 2 oz cups with lids. I still use those for nuts, salad dressings, etc and right after surgery, I used them for sugar free jello mixed with Genepro protein powder.
  18. And I , my little friend, am 8 months a week from Monday, a RNY bypass, and I have not dumped even once. Oh perhaps I have led a charmed life that it hasn't happened. But I used to have an appetite that knew no bounds. I would watch TV with a Family sized bag of Conn's. Honey +bar-b-que chips and eat them all. Conn's is one of our Central Ohio brands, cheaper, thinner chips, no saturated fats in their oil. Head office I believe is Zanesville Ohio. The fact that are so well made does not excuse the fact I ate too many at one sitting. At any rate I do not have a raging appetite any more,in fact I truly have no desire,to eat. Nothing really sounds good, oh I do have my soups, varying from bone broths clear up to my cheesy soup. Usually make it with potatoes, last time I put broccoli in it instead. Made my dietician groan but my pouch and I like that kind of stuff. I add Genepro protein to items I think don't have enough naturally. And depending on next blood draw, we will see if I have any deficencies vitamin -wise. I had an Iron infusion in March, need to see if that's holding or will I require another? PCP said I might have them every 90 days, but it all depends on how. blood levels are.

    Want to go rouge!

Avoid Genepro, it is crap and was successfully sued for false claims of "medical grade protein" and the claimed 30 grams of protein. It is actually been proven in court that it is only 11 grams. https://www.pacermonitor.com/public/case/19892822/SI03,_Inc_v_Musclegen_Research,_Inc

Truly don't know what to do

No no...the protein powder I just got "Genepro" is 30g per 1 Tbls. So that's perfect. But how much soup are you adding that to? I just made lemon pudding with 2 Tbls of protein (60 g). I'm eating a little now, but put the rest in popscicle molds for Jello Protein Pudding Pops!

Truly don't know what to do

If you are using the GENEPRO - they have a small scoop in the bag. One scoop is 30 grams of protein. I would start with that. I think if some things have more protein, they are harder to get down. I had to force myself to drink my Protein shakes. It's not a matter of "this tastes great", right now it's a matter of - I've got to get this down.

    Do I Smell Different?

I was on obesity help and you would think that genepro is worthless. I got so much shade on that site I deactivated my account. I am amazed at how much nicer this site is even when people don't agree they have been respectful. I'm going to do some more research on genepro and will let you know what I find out Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

Why do you think Genepro is crap. I'm shopping for a flavorless protein. I'm read reviews but still undecided. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    GENEPRO

Hey guys, I don't care for the conversation here. The studies were not just them. I am not trying to sell anyone any thing. For myself I will keep using GENEPRO. I am not selling this at all. I have my email with the information. I don't know who made you judge and jury here. Have a great day

    Premiere Roadkill

I started blending the chocolate RTD with ice after surgery. The shake was too thick right out of the carton and did have a funny smell and after taste to me. The ice and blending loosened it up a little and made it tolerable (and gave it a little crunch which made it more appetizing from the ice chunks). I switched to GENEPRO and haven't looked back, a little frozen fruit, ice and genepro and I have myself a fruit smoothy everyday.
