Hey so I’ve been healing really well. I was sleeved 2/2 and I haven’t had any complications besides gas. I started walking immediately after surgery and had my first bm two days after surgery(sorry tmi!) It’s great overall, but I can already hold down liquids and my protein shakes. I even had a small bite of an egg and was fine. I’m a little worried because of how easy it is for me to get my fluids in. I have also been feeling hungry very often. I just don’t want to mess up and not lose weight. I start to feel full after about 3-4 oz and then I stop for a few minutes and am able to drink again. But I’ve read a lot that many can’t even drink a lot after surgery?? Is this normal?? Looking for any support buddies!!

I'm pre-op but I have a history of these irritations. One thing that helps me, but may be a little on the TMI side, is to make sure my underwear is between the folds... so that there is fabric to protect the skin. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using BariatricPal mobile app

Learning day by day how to use my tool. Even though I have gone through some stuff I’m happy I made this decision.

Oh my just weighed myself today. I have gained 4 pounds can’t seem to get them off I do not know what to do. I am exercising and eating right. My surgery is February 7th. I am so worried that if I don’t lose the weight they will cancel my surgery. Any one ever had surgery cancelled? I am to start my period (sorry TMI) soon and I think that is why I am bloated, but will they understand that? Any advice?

I don’t mean to post tmi but sweet baby Jesus The first poo was my absolute flipping nightmare. Like... why didn’t anyone warn me [emoji30][emoji30]40 minutes crying on the toilet and now my entire body hurts. I would rather endure an extra two week of clear liquids than experience that again. Holy.... I’m actually mad the hospital didn’t give me stool softeners or something. Jerks... lol Gastric bypass 1/24/18

Before surgery I had issues going to the bathroom. I took a probiotic daily and that seemed to help. 3 weeks post-op & still having issues trying to going #2. I was given the ok to take my probiotic, doesn’t seem to help. I have tried taking MiraLAX doesn’t seem to help. I have taken ex-Lax & that seems to work but makes my stomach really crampy. I have only gone twice in almost a month! ( I had to take ex-lax both times.) Anyone have any suggestions?! TIA

TMI-- my period has gone missing! I am definitely not pregnant. But it's normally very much on schedule and it's about a week late now. I had it before my surgery (surgery date 1/3). I was on a liquid diet at that time, I feel like if I had it then, I should have it now. I've been following the doctors instructions, getting in 70-80 grams of protein and 54-64 oz of water a day. I'm eating around 700-800 calories a day. I don't feel like I'm starving myself. Anyone else experience no period after surgery?

Hey all I am 8 days post VSG I had surgery on 18th Jan... I was doing ok as far as liquids go but today...well I haven’t managed to fit anything in at all...all day I feel bloated and full.. so worrying - sorry for the TMI but I haven’t done a number 2 today..so my husband said it may be because I haven’t emptied my stomach? Has anyone else had this issue at all?

Surgery was 2 weeks ago, I’m fine, healing great, etc. Ever since I had surgery my bowel movements have all been a maroon color. I told my surgeon he said it must be from liquids/dyes, or something I’m taking in...but it is still happening like daily. It’s kinda freaking me out. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m trying to stay calm and not freak out but it’s kind scary to think it could be blood. Advice please!

I am doing great...I think. LOL! My incisions are sore but better than yesterday. Working on getting all the water in. That’s my biggest challenge so far. I have to say the hardest thing has been cooking for my husband while I can’t eat any of it. But that is just a test of my willpower. I saved money for my sleeve for 2 years because I was a healthy obese person. My insurance wouldn’t pay even meeting the 35 BMI but with no co morbidity, they wouldn’t pay. So I am not about the mess anything up. I still have some right shoulder pain even though I’m passing gas and had a very small BM this morning. TMI!! How are you!

I struggle with a heavy flow (TMI to some idc). When it's that time of the month for me, I take ibuprofen. I hated the side effects of birth control and while I still have my hormones go out of whack and get insanely emotional or crazy during this time of the month, taking ibuprofen daily helped slow things down for me dramatically. Oh and buy overnight "ultra" tampons for the first few days that it's the heaviest. Good luck! It's a really hard thing to deal with, I know! @TheNewGiGi

My doc said to just pay attention to my comfort and do what I feel up to sex-wise. We took a couple weeks off, and then made a point to keep things lower key for a bit. Sorry if this is TMI...I thought it was a good question. Anyone else's doc give them different instructions about resuming sex?

Yepper. Had insomnia from hell for two weeks. Got my period a week late after sleeve, then early the next month. Have had an acne flare up. And this is WAY TMI....but have had a sex drive that won't quit. Hubby is thrilled about this side effect. LOL.

Ladies PMS Question... Help...
Luni83 replied to Yosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was blessed with 4 enemies the first two month after surgery. The day before I was in so much pain that my dr gave me prescription painkillers. The first time it happened I was sure I had ruptured something. Haha. Also about 2-3 days before each one I got sooo angry over nothing. Seems to have calmed down at this point Still a lot more blood than before though... tmi.. Surgery date: 10 october 2017 SW: 327 CW: 265 GW: 175 -

Just like you mentioned incision pain but that to bad. I was having alot of trouble sleeping and on the third day I was constipated (sorry tmi lol!) Other then that I've been doing good thank God. Right now I feel like my weight loss has stalled to I'm trying to stay positive. I know little by little the weight will come off. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app -
SEVERE constipation month postop please help
Cac93 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, really wondering what people take or what they do daily to prevent constipation. 3 days ago i was severely constipated after not going for 8 days and i was in EXTREME pain and discomfort for 2 days. I think it was the most horrible experience of my life. It got to the point that i couldnt pee from all the pressure and couldnt sit. Went to hospital and they told me to go home and take magnesium citrate (which is carbonated so cant drink) and to do a fleet enema. I took miralax for a couple days before i finally had to do the enema (sorry tmi) and i finally had relief. I really never want to go through that ever again and im scared its already happening because its been 3 days since the enema and i havent gone or needed to go. Ive been taking miralax daily still and drinking a bunch of water everyday. Going to walk after work and hope that helps with regularity. So any advice super appreciated! -

I wanna workout so bad I can taste it [emoji30][emoji30][emoji30]

Whennnnnn can I workout???!!!!!! I’m 11 days VSG post op and I feel AMAZING!!!! I went from 275-252.4. 23 lbs down baby! I’ve pretty much been able to tolerate everything but juice that isn’t diluted. Although it’s no sugar added, I still felt some discomfort but it wasn’t too bad. My incisions look great. The only one that still hurts to the touch in that one where they actually pulled the stomach thru. That ish hurtttsssssss! But for the most part I feel wonderful! I wanna get back in the gym. My boyfriend bought me some resistance bands but I’m a person that loves the gym so this is killing me slowly 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ (not literally). I don’t go for a follow up until the end of the month [emoji30]. I’m not a treadmill girl. I literally go hard in the gym (which of course I know I can’t do) but what can I do that’s safe but will still give me that good old sweat filled fulfillment??? TMI but can I at least be intimate with my boo?? 🤭Help me! Lol help a sista out! -
Ok, I was reading up on life after the gastric sleeve and read something that horrified me. I would love to know how many people have this issue and for how long. I work from home but have to go to a different location to administer state tests to my students, about three weeks after I am hoping to have the sleeve done. I read several posts about sleeve patients having to wear adult diapers because they basically have no control of their loose stools, especially during the liquid phase. Is this really a common thing? Several posters wrote about waking up to diarrhea all over the bed, going while driving or just having daily accidents in their pants. Please tell me this is not “the norm”.

Can I take a stool softener or laxative during pre-op diet? What about after surgery? I tried to call surgeons office to ask but didn’t get someone to answer. Help!
