    My very first NSV :)

    NSV's are the best!! Congrats
  3. To start off, I went to the Dr. for my second fill on New Year's Eve. I was both thrilled and upset that my Dr. said he wasn't going to give me a fill. He said I was losing weight much faster than others and that there was no need and was happy about my progress. I, of course, going into the appt., didn't think 6lbs in 3 weeks was such an accomplishment, but I guess so! At least I'm consistently losing at this point, I am happy for that. But of course, don't we all want it to go away faster? lol So, on to the NSV. I went to a local thrift store today in search of some lighter clothes for my trip to FL next week. To my surprise, I saw a Burberry peacoat on the rack and decided to give it a try, after thinking, nah, it will never fit. I've never fit into nice peacoats, ever...unless men's, and obviously very bulky and horrendous looking. To my surprise, it fit...even with my bulky sweatshirt on and to add to that, a Burberry coat for $6! Woo hoo Not to mention, I also purchased a few shirts and pants...which I NEVER find anything to fit me, or I just hated my body so much before that I wasn't excited about buying new clothes. Down from a 22 pant size to a snug 16 now and it feels so good
  4. I went shopping today as I am needing some smaller clothes!! I tried on a size 12 pants and they were too BIG!!. I like having this problem. I could not find a size 10 I liked so I did not get any today. I quess I will wear my too big and baggy pant to work tomorrow. NSV for me!!
  5. Starting weight: 243 Surgery weight: 228 (Sept 21, 2012) New Years Goal: 190 Todays weight: 191 Missed it by a pound but THRILLED at my progress, as we all should be. How awesome is it for all of us today? How many of us have had a New Year resolution to lose weight in the past? Now we KNOW we will lose it! How liberating!! All these diet commercials and finally, FINALLY, this year I KNOW I will lose weight!! This is an unexpected NSV. Starting the new year knowing the weight will come off. I just want to congratulate all of you for making this amazing decision to transform your life!! Happy New Year!!
  6. It is great to have these NSV but please be safe, lol...,happy New Year!

Finally Stopped Lying to the DMV

This is a big NSV I'm hoping for! I've been thinking about it for months. I have to renew my license on my birthday this year (March 7th) and I'm 22 pounds from the weight on there now. I want to be at that weight when I renew in a few months. I'm 6 months out and have slowed to an average of 10-11 lbs/month so I'm going to be cutting it close but I'm really hoping!
  8. I was sleeved on Dec 18th and have been incredibly lucky to not have any complications. I threw up my pain meds once in the hospital- not fun! But other than that no issues eating or drinking, other than I'm full really quick. For the most part I am getting 48-64 oz of water/G2 a day and about 60g of Protein a day. It does seem that I am ALWAYS thinking of eating and drinking and I hope that this becomes second nature eventually. Last week, a friend and I booked a trip to Botswana, which is country directly north of South Africa. (I wasn't quite sure where it was located prior to booking.) I'm very excited for this trip, except for the 16 hour direct flight. I'm PRAYING that I lose as close to 50 lbs as possible to make that flight bearable. We'll be on safari's and visiting a few cool places like Victoria Falls. This mission to lose has given me the motivation to hop on the treadmill at work tomorrow when my day is done. I have to say that I could never have kept my head up through this process without weight loss forums. Every time I get bummed out I hop on and seeing others succeed brings me such joy. Not to mention how wonderfully supportive people are. NSV: 1- Can fit in my favorite winter jacket again 2- My double chin is gone. (Come on belly....) 3- My feet are smaller 4- The jeans that I have lived in after surgery (super soft and stretchy) can be taken off without using the button or zipper.

    NSV

I can now wear a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in over 10 years!!! Is the amazing part that I've lost the weight? OR that I actually kept the jeans in the closet for that long?? lol
  10. I love the NSV better then the numbers on the scale. Keeps me motivated.

People can be cruel, even our on families. You must dig deep & go for what you know. My family doesn't know, only my husband so they eat whatever, whenever & wherever but I've grown accustomed to it. I've sorted all my life & I do recall early on it was hard but I conquered it. Good luck & perhaps they could be more considerate. As for this weight journey GET ER DONE! Me myself slow going but seeing progress. Already getting NSVs. Although the scale can no longer claim 22 POUNDS on my behalf! Lol I just realized that. BMI 37.4 & missing inches like crazy. And u can an actually see the difference in before & now pics. I am so motivated to be successful! I am looking forward to my after pic! APerfect10Again A.K.A. CJ May the good Lord bless you all! Lucky 13! 2013 is MY year!
  13. I am so happy to know that it is possible to meet Protein intake without shakes or drinks. I hit 63gr today normally I will drink 2 shakes a day for the 60gr and any protein from food was a bonus. Sorry just had to share with others that would understand, my boyfriend just looked at me with a blank face like I was a nut when I got excited over this. The last time I got this excited was when I realized I had a collar bone ( My first NSV) Happy New Year everyone!!! ( I know I am a little early)

  15. Getting There

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

My NSV yesterday - shopped in "regular" sizes at Dillard's. I kept thinking someone was going to point at me and tell me where Women's sizes were while laughing hysterically (lol). But no strange looks or anything. Bought 4 sweaters in XL and 2 pairs of jeans without a W after the size! The bottom 1/2 of my body doesn't seem to have lost quite as much size-wise as the top, but it still felt really good! Yes, I admit to doing a bit of a happy dance in the fitting room! (If anyone had seen that, they would have definitely pointed & laughed!). I have noticed lots more hair in my brush the past several days. I've been taking Biotin since 3 weeks post-surgery, using Nioxin shampoo/conditioner, getting 60+ gr protein - so I'm doing what I can/should. I have fairly thick hair so hopefully it won't be too noticable. Like others, I do need to step-up the exercise - just can't seem to make myself do it. I'm ALMOST 1/2 way to my goal of losing 130 pounds - only 6 more pounds to go. I had hoped to be there by 1/1/13, but I'm totally happy with the 59 pounds I've lost - and that I didn't gain any over the holidays Glad everyone seems to be doing so well overall. There are some struggles, but hey, if it were easy, everyone would do it - LOL. Keep up the good work Sept Sisters! Happy 2013!!!!

    NSV shout outs

So I guess this is a SV and not a NSV, but I made it through the holidays and lost weight! To be honest, I'm shocked because we were in Switzerland and everyone kept feeding us cheese fondue and potatoes! Not to mention lots of sugary goodies....I remember the days before my sleeve and the holidays meant at least a 5 lb gain.....life is good and I love my sleeve! Just wrote my LAST post on my blog A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A SLEEVER. I posted 24 photos....12 BEFORE and 12 AFTER....all my after photos are the best NSV's ever. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
  17. I am so thrilled and just had to share this because a few days back, I was feeling bummed about being stuck. I started adding up my numbers and getting panicked that my surgery was a waste of money. I know I am not alone in this as I had read similiar trains of thought on here as well. I was doing everything right, I was adjusting from pureed to solids a bit and stalled in week 4. Also, I have lost ten pounds now since I came home from surgery-lost 18 pounds in the first week. Some things I did change was incorporating simple exercize now, and also increased my Protein a bit. And VOILA! off went three pounds in two days. Also, I tried on my wedding dress as I got married in August this year, and wanted to see if it fit differently. It almost fell off of me! I was not at my highest weight...in fact about only ten pounds havier, but the inche are definitely less than when I wore that dress-it felt great! I have dug out all my old clothes and right now have a room full of piles of stuff...my jeans are falling down my butt....it feels great. Yay! Here i a pic of me in the dress that doesn't fit anymore...lol

VSG Post Op Week 1- weigh in, NSV's

Fantastic week. Long but busy and active. I feel GREAT since my surgery... really. Last night I actually almost ran up my steps. It usually takes me a minute to get up or down the stairs. My knees already don't hurt and that's worth the cost of surgery right there. My numbers: Highest weight- 273 in March 2012 Day of surgery weight 250 Week 1 weigh in: 241.4 Loss: 8.6 lbs I am THRILLED with that number! I will be in the 230's next week! WOOOOT! NSV's: I like the way my doc did my insicions, to where they're not in my bra line at all. Most are at or below my waist, one at my breast bone so I've been wearing my regular Lane Bryant underwire bras. I couldn't hang with the sports bras. The UniBoob just wasn't happening. Anyway, I feel like my band might be a bit loose and the bra is pulled as tightly as possible. It'd be nice to get rid of these G cup mamas. My size 22 jeans need to be retired. Already. I felt like they might actually fall down the other day. My size 20's, which I haven't been able to wear for a while, fit just fine. Not tight, not cutting off circulation, they zip right up. Like I said earlier, steps are no issue right now. I still get a backache from shopping, etc so can't wait until that goes away. Overall I am THRILLED.

Is this a good NSV? LOL

iggy congrats - great story, NSV BUT theres no such word as "ONLY" with our weight loss (only 45 lbs down) - you know that 100 whips with a wet noodle, take that
  22. So I'll be 2 months out Monday. Yesterday I decided to go try on pants, didn't think I would actually buy since my "skinny" pants aren't *that* loose. Today I'm wearing a brand new pair of size 16s! The last time I was a 16 I was a sophmore in high school. I shopped in the "regular" department - I don't know the last time I even went in the regular department! I was kind of embarrassed to even be over there at first, I felt like people would see me and think "who does that fat girl think she's fooling?" I'm so excited, I think maybe there was a part of me that didn't really believe the sleeve would work, even though I've been loosing weight - somehow new pants make it real!

    2 new NSV for me!!

I am so looking forward to my first NSV.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There

I was sleeved on 12/20/12, and as of today (eight days out) I'm down 16lbs! I've also had my first NSV! I love this place, and all the support, and I had a pretty easy way on this road to skinny! (:
