I Can Fit In My Old 13 Size Jeans! Nsv
Liliana Arleen posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sorry for the bad picture with my cell and the flash, and the mess around my room, but I am beyond excited that I tried today my old 13 size jeans and they fit. I am only 8 weeks post op. -
Renewed.... Way to go!!!! Leslie... Thanks! As for the kids growing up... oh its hard somedays! But growing out of Spongebob would be GREAT!!! Unfortunately, my DH loves it too! As for coffee... I have a love affair with coffee. If I had to give it up like I did for pop, I'd have ended up hospitalized and drooling!! LOL. Its not the caffine... I don't care if it has it or not. I just love the taste and the warm beverage. It's my one splurge... I have it with light cream! Aclubb... congrats on the 20min run! You rock! It is so strange, but we have all felt the same thing... I love to run and I love how it makes me feel. Keep it up! I'm down 2-1/2 lbs this week! I'm so thrilled. Almost to onederland! Haven't been there in 20+ years, and then only briefly! My NSV for today... I went window shopping and tried on some clothes. I had to ask for a smaller size... twice!!! And when I put on the outfit, I realized that I actually have bones in my shoulders! Its not just a rounded softness from my neck to my arms. There are actual bones and angles!!! LOL! In the dressing room, I kept poking and feeling around my shoulders... they've been hidden for so long! Another NSV... I ran into a woman I used to work with, and hadn't seen her since March. She kept going on and on about how "healthy" I look. That felt really good. She said I looked strong!

Carol... CONGRATULATIONS!!! I knew you could run farther! 34 min is great! Sorry about your friend, but again, great NSV to use running as the way to deal with an issue! MacMadam... you are so dedicated. Plus a full Olympic length Tri... that's a great goal! Suzanne... I have the same problem. I can run without any knee problems, but riding a bike or climbing stairs kills me. I have arthritis in both knees, but my right is the worst. I literallly have to climb stairs with the left leading each step. Going down in bad too... I lead with the right then. When I'm running outside and I hit stairs, my momentum sometimes makes the stairs do-able, but not always. I haven't been on a bike in years, so don't know how I'd do. But an exercise bike is out of the question, so I assume that a bike is too. My guess is the strain on my ligaments and joints in the circular motion is too much with the arthritic damage done to my knees. Ok, day 4 of my strength/cardio schedule, and all is well. I almost blew off the lower body workout last night, but pushed myself to do it. Glad I did. On Tuesday I went out for a run... the plan was to go for just a short run, but I got into it so much that I did almost 6k. It felt great! I also broke my race record time for the 5k portion. When I got home, I had such a runner's high going all night! Oh Yeah!!!

1/1/06 ~ 3/1/06 LBT WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE LIST OF FABULOUS PRIZES! 1. Gift basket from Slumber Parties by Lisa (DeLarla) 2. Shanna 3. Anwyn I'm going to be a buttinski here too... If there are going to be prizes we need some rules. Obvously someone who is 350lbs is going to lose more than someone who is 170. Maybe whoever loses the largest percentage of their excess weight...? I volunteer to compute this at the end of the challenge. That way I can fix the numbers so that I win (LOL). It would be nice to reward NSV's too but it's a hard thing to measure... Maybe we can all nominate our choice for best NSV by PM'ing Debby at the end of the challenge. Just my ideas... Debby, feel free to tell me to jump off - it's your challenge. -

start: 1/3/06 210 lbs 1/8/06 205 lbs (-5) -- I totally got back on track this week! NSV- my supervisor hadn't seen me in two weeks (over the holidays) and she said My God, you're getting smaller! I hadn't lost any additional weight between Christmas & New Years, so that really made me feel good and realize that even though you're not losing pounds, you're probably losing inches! That being said, here's NSV #2 NSV 2- I bought a pair of pants just before Christmas and I hadn't worn them until one day last week I wore them to work. They fit looser. NSV 3- I moved down one BMI category (from severely obese to obese) -

1/4/06 Weight = 236 NSV: I bought a size 18/20 belt to hold up my too loose size 22 pants. 1/9/06 Weight = 234 (-2) NSV: I was able to fit into a misses size 20 pants at Old Navy. 1/16/06 Weight = 229 (-5) NSV(s): 1) My mother-in-law came to visit this past weekend and called me a "skinny minnie!" 2) I can now fit comfortably (with room to spare) in those plastic, stackable patio chairs. 1/23/06 Weight = 228 (-1) NSV: I FINALLY had to break down and buy new size 20 clothing because I was tired of my old clothes falling off of me. 1/30/06 Weight = 226 (-2) NSV: I had to move the seat in my vehicle closer to the steering wheel because my butt isn't so big anymore. 2/6/06 Weight = 221 (-5) NSV(s): 1) Our female bowling league partner told me this past Tuesday that I had a nice butt. P.S. She wasn't hitting on me. LOL 2) I fit into and purchased a pair of size 18 shorts. SV: 4 more pounds and I'm halfway to my goal!! :biggrin1: 2/13/06 Weight = 220 (-1) NSV: I don't really have one this week. Hopefully I'll make up for it with 2 next week. 2/20/06 Weight = 220 (no change) NSV(s): 1) On the plane to and from Vegas last week, I didn't have to struggle to secure my seatbelt, but rather had 6-8 inches of slack. 2) My hips didn't spread into the seats next to me causing the armrests to lift up. 3) My husband said he saw several men in Vegas checking out my ass!! Count me in! I like the NSV idea, but my suggestion would be to post one NSV a week instead of 2 or 3... That's just me though, I'm not very good at thinking of them. I don't have a big preference on the challenge length - I really like having a place to weigh-in every week. -

Just got back from DC, don't know what my weight is, and furthermore, I don't care. I have a whole string of NSVs, the very most important one is that I went to DC WITHOUT AN INHALER. What's more, I didn't even need it. This is super significant because this time last year, and for several years prior, I couldn't go anywhere without at least 2 inhalers on my person. I had an inhaler in every single piece of clothing that had a pocket. Last year this time I had spent 10 days of the Christmas vacation in hospital, don't know how many trips to the various ERs. I didn't even realize that I didn't have an inhaler until the puddle jumper from Salt Lake to Pokey, AFTER my trip was almost done. very tired. must sleep now. -
slouching around the house in a too big for me tank top that is a part of the matching pj set that i was too lazy to put the bottoms on no bra the puppies are playing freely in the yard panties are size 9 Hanes Her Way french cut white cotton panties.... getting ready to go senoir sitting today...As opposed to baby sitting...so I will be showered and dressed in white cotton bra and a fresh pair of HRW cotton french cut panties...gotta love those multi packs of panties... BF says with as thin as the material is for ladies undies he doesn't understand why we bother with them...I would feel (and BE) literately naked with out them is what I tell him... here is an odd ball NSV I tried on BF's udnerwear and HIS were too big for me... OMG!!! THough I was going to wear them all day just cause I could fit into them... FYI I have never worn another person's underwear before in my life and I was laughing so hard at my self for even trying his on that I almost fell into his dresser while putting them on. LOL

Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

For anyone who posted losses this week, great job!!!!! :-D I will ask the site Admin if Alex might consider making a Weight Watchers room, or how we might be able to create one when we are on there. I'm in CA, and 5PM my time is great if it's on a Tues. Weds. or Thurs. Let me know! Welcome!! I'm so glad you have decided to join WW. The band doesn't stop you from making poor food choices. WW is the map. The band is the compass. Workouts are the energies it takes to get to our treasure! Some of us just need a little bit more than others. Nothing wrong with that at all, and this in no way makes you a failure. It makes you more of a winner than ever because you are willing to do whatever it takes to get to your goal. Best wishes!! LOL! I haven't been tracking as well as I should either. Not good!!! I am still down, thank goodness. However tomorrow I'm doing 24 points no exceptions. Especially since I'm probably going to have BBQ on Monday. LOL!! Nuff said girl! That is such a great NSV!! (((hugs))) rayne, I have only one time gone into my activity points. I think it was only 1-2 at that. I usually gather up between 40-70 activity points per week too, so I seriously don't think I'm ever in danger. They are there for that reason, however I really do try to keep those in the bank. Good luck!! -
The pain is almost completely gone. I'm thinking it was the 4WDing in waipio valley yesterday am. It was a rough ride & felt like it was gonna beat me to death! Notime-congrats on your NSV! Gaining back some independence was one of my goals as well. I hate asking for help! Lol

Attention scale users! A new challenge.

Thanks @@tomi71 . Just wishing we could all just wake up and this nightmare would be over. Running on auto pilot, going through the motions of life right now. The numb days and the angry days are the best days. The other ones are nearly unbearable. So I guess my NSV for the week is that I'm still here. -

How about some NSVs!?!?
kare.1768 replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On Thursday I had a regular scheduled doctors appointment. They weighed me but I don't believe their scale cause it's not the surgeons office. Anyway, then they took my blood pressure and oxygen saturation level. It wasn't until after they were done that I realized they used a "regular sized" blood pressure cuff on my arm. That's my first of what I'm sure will be many nsv's. Lol -
I get fill #2 tomorrow. All stocked up on liquids. I hope I get some solid restriction with this one. Wish me luck! Oh yeah... NSV today! I walked up the stairs to my profs office on the third floor at school today.... withOUT huffing and puffing! I used to have to stop at the top landing and catch my breath. I wasn't even able to talk right away before. Today I walked right up and even met a friend at the top and had no trouble talking. Whee! It's the little things that really make a difference.

How about some NSVs!?!?
Getting-used-to-new-me replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know this is women's territory. But I'd like to share my own NSV, if I may. I was going through my old clothes, (mostly suit coats and sweaters), which I haven't worn for over ten years and found out they all fit! A couple of my suit coats could even be altered now to make them double-breasted! But my 19-year-old daughter saw me styling them and said "Ugh Dad, those are so '90's!" Little does she know they're actually '70's and '80's! Oh well, more donations for the thrift stores.
