1. OMG...ran out to hit a local dept store for a sale they wer having.... Found a cute pair of pants...but all that was left was a size six.. I eyeballed them and decided to try them on and they fit. I am sure they must run huge because I know I am not really a size six...but I had a NSV for under $10!!!!

2. Me? Thanks so much!!! It's been fun to watch the changes. And experience the NSVs.

my pants fell down

Hehehe!!! That's a great NSV!!!
4. Today my niece told me I couldn't wear the jeans I was wearing anymore, because they were falling off. I put a tighter pair on, and while I was walking with my hands full my pants fell down, literally last my bum. Good nsv.
5. HA HA, yippee for such a great NSV. Thank you for making me smile.
6. Fabulous!! There is nothing like a nsv to make a wonderful trip even better. Keep up the good work!

Don't know her....

Gmanbat, you just made me realize a major NSV!! I used to dread getting dressed and going anywhere I now get dressed and go to every family member in my house and ask how I look with a huge smile on my face. I don't mean that I think I look amazing but that I am happy with myself, I am for the first time in a long time comfortable and confident in clothes

Suggestions: Start a food diary, you may be surprised at how everything adds up. Even when we are eating healthy we can occasionally throughout the day snack on a bite here and there and those calories add up. Exercise- you need to make sure when exercising that you are reaching your target heart rate for your age and weight. You can goggle this and find out how to calculate. Take your measurements, when losing weight you sometimes will have NSV. Taking your measurements will help you not to become frustrated. When we do start losing our bodies have to adjust to every drop in weight, Protein, you need to be eating at least 60-70gms of protein a day. Your meals should consist of no more than a one cup volume serving at a time. Meals, they tell us to only eat 3 meals a day and we should not be hungry for 3-4 hours between meals. I have found that it is difficult to get the calories and amount of protein needed to lose weight almost impossible for me by eating only 3 meals a day with out planned Snacks, My snacks are complex carbohydrates like a banana and a tablespoon of Peanut Butter. Time for eating, also as important as your food choices are where you eat and how much time you spend eating. You should be eating for 15 to 20 minutes and than stop, it you can clean your plate in 10 minutes your band is to lose, if it takes you longer than 20-30 minutes to eat your food your band is to tight. Do you always clean your plate and are you satisfied after eating? How long do you stay satisfied and when do you feel like you need to eat again, is it because you are hungry or is your head telling you to eat. When you say that you think the problem may be that the band is not full enough, what do you mean? The band will never prevent you from eating certain foods, now it may make it more difficult to eat certain foods but honestly the easiest food for a lap band person to eat is junk. The reason junk is easier to eat is that it requires little chewing. You are only 4 months post op and I know you want to hurry up and lose your weight but it takes time, go back to your doctor, talk to a nutritionist and really exam what you are eating. Good luck!
9. I was sleeved on Nov 26th I have Gone from my highest weight pre-op at 423 to my current weight 7 weeks pre-0p at 348 with the majority of that being post-op loss. Thats a total of 76lbs since this time last year when our Journey began. Yes I have had support from friends ,my Husband, my children but most of all from My sister "Kapoorvilla". She encouraged me and walked every step of this journey right beside of me.She was sleeved on Dec 5th. My sleeve went great home the next day walking a few hrs after, took almost no pain meds, have had no nausea or vomiting and can eat and drink about anything just have to watch the amounts, be sure to get in my proteins first and stay away from bad carbs and sweets, not that these things bother me but i just know my sleeve is only a tool. My sister drove us back and forth to doctor appts, in heavy big city traffic, pushed me in a wheelchair because i couldnt walk far, encouraged me, kept my spirits up, was proud of every lb I lost or NSV I achieved like being able to go from wheelchair to walker and now just my own power in short distances. I just wanted to publicly thank her and tell how much that it all meant to me. It is sucha blessing to have some one to share it all with step by step and compare notes and complain about the different diet stages with. We share recipes and any new finds such as products with a lot of protein etc.. She has been such a inspiration to me and I so admire her determination and ability to bless others even when things are going the best for her. During her operation her bowel was pierced, it turned into an emergency situation she was cut from breast bone to vagina practically lost blood had to be transfused 4 units of blood. Had to have asecond surgery 3 days later to put her bowels back in place, was finally released after 5 days and took 4 weeks to recover enough to resume her many responsibilities. She is doing good now, does well with the sleeve eating and drinking pretty much what she wants too but very little of it. not sure of her exact loss but its pretty good. I'm so sorry this all happen to you and I don't know the hows and whys you definiteley didnt deserve it and yes If it had to be I wish it had been me instead but I think the Lord knew you where stronger and im not sure I would have survived it and then recovered as well as you have, my health is so much worse. You are a real trooper and a great example to me, you have more will power than anyone ive ever known and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm so proud you are my sister and hopoe someday I can do for you all the things you have done for me. Thanks again I love You! Ascooke.
10. Just ran out on my lunch hour to d**k's Sporting Goods to get goggles for my swimming lessons.... they were having a clearance sale ( additonal 50% lowest ticket price). I purchased 3 Dri-Fit workout shirts in size MEDIUM... MED-DEE-UMMMMMMM!!!! for $6 each... I was tempted to buy more but since I still have weight to lose these will due for now.... They had a LOT of XL and XXL stuff on the clearance rack..not much in medium... So I was reminded 1 of the downsides of losing weight...the middle sizes are the first to go... the extremely tiny and the humungous clothes seem to hang around the racks a little longer, especially in stores like this...

21 Weeks Post-Op

I'm down -3 lbs this week!!! Woot woot! I can officially say that the after Christmas/Holiday vacation recovery is fully underway! I haven't done anything drastic, I've just been back to work for a week, eating healthy choices, drinking lots of fluids, and really just watching all the crappy stuff leave my every day meal choices! And it's working! So glad! I was technically on a 3 week stall, because I was eating so much bad stuf the last few weeks, that this week I felt soooo much better and in control. I'm going after my 145 lbs goal with complete focus! I'd love to hit it in the next 3 to 4 months! I'd be sooooooo excited! Just got to keep focused, and know that the little numbers add up to big numbers in the end!! And my NSV? I walked into the the GAP yesterday and grabbed a pair of size 8 jean legging (jeggings I think they are called) and they fit perfectly. I walked into a name brand store and bought a pair of size 8 jeans??? Whaaaat? REALLLYYYY? WHaaaattt???? It's made my week! So excited! Hello all. Happy Bandiversary Mish, Nicole, Missy & Amica.. If I missed anyone, my apologies. Just wanted to stop in and see how everyone is doing! I can't believe it has been a year! and congrats on all the NSV's.. I've been reading a few people talking about a Carb Cycling Diet... I'll have to research what that is. I think I figured out why my band acts up sometime. I apparently overate at lunch the other day cause my tummy hurt, gas bubbles and for the next few days NOTHING would go down right and would barely stay down! then I thought back after each time I ate just slightly over normal portions I would go through a few days of nothing going down right. So maybe my band must get irritated and don't accept food very well for a few days...hmmm, guess I should be more conscious of my eating even when I have small portions cause I thought I was eating well within my range maybe it was slightly too much but nothing over the top.

Banded 12/20 down 21 since surgery for a total of 35. Great NSV yesterday, a Co-worker who doesn't know about my banding came up to me and said "I noticed you've done a great job sticking to your diet and have a lot of determination to do it over the holidays. Is there any advice you can give me a really need to loose weight too." It was such a confidence boost and I told her id be happy to help her and be a motivator to/for her. Hope all of you are doing just as well. Saw this pic and thought I should share. Happy Thursday to all
20. Hey ya'll! I'm so giddy this morning! I woke up, noticed my bloated belly had finally deflated from surgery, ran to the scale and weighed in at 234.5 - down 22.5 since Dec 17 pre-op diet. I was so ecstatic I tried on a pair of pants I ordered online a long time ago that we're way too small. So my first official NSV is I'm wearing them (and not afraid I'm gonna bust a seam)! Hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday as well! Best, Chad.

Hi everyone! Ladybandido- awesome NSV!! I need to get out my Doc Martens that I had such trouble with the buckles when I was bigger. Maybe I'll wear them on Friday in honor of you!!! Nicole, glad you're over the major crud! And good for you logging. I too sometimes finish up my logging the next morning, but as you say, better than not doing it at all!! Well, I swear DH can manufacture stuff to be stressed about and I am about over it. He is just such a drama queen!!! Grrrr. But I'm not eating over it- in fact, I'm down 5.5 lbs from my weigh in day 8 days ago (I weighed in on 1/1, even though my regular WID is Wednesdays, so today was my "real" WID). I know it's because I'm not eating TONS of ice cream- though I did have 2 measured and tracked cups on Sunday, which is the "cheat" day on the carb cycling diet. I am doing this carb cycling and it seems to be working. I'm tracking and still exercising- though for whatever reason today will be the first day this week I will have worked out. I'm doing what i can. So it was nice to see. For some reason my ticker has disappeared, I"ll have to update it and get it back on my signature! Everyone have a great day! Nicki

Hi All! Happy bandiversary Mis and congrats JDI on the help for the car! That surely would help you sleep better! And sleeping better helps with weight loss too. I've been busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest ... Probably all of us are. I did the 2 day liquids, Nicole, and actually got down to 170.5! I seriously think I have an aversion to the 160s, because no sooner than I saw that weight on the scale, and my husband commented "you look skinny today" (ok, he IS a sweetheart sometimes) then, poof, I ate sweets and crap and went to 174. I've just been playing this same old record. Now that spring is on the way (to me, spring is on its way starting Jan 2!) ... I am back to logging and working out. Oh, and I have a fill appt tomorrow, so I think I'll get one. I'm still at 2.8 in a 10cc so I think I've got room. Maybe another .2 for an even 3. I DID have a NSV, though. I have these high top tennies with buckles on the sides. I bought them at a discount store when I was my heaviest and for the life of me I couldn't buckle them. I couldn't bend over to do it, I couldn't sit down because of where the buckles were and I couldn't reach. I wore them once and had hubby buckle them (embarrassing) and explained to him I got them at outlet store and it must be because the buckles were put on wrong where no one could reach! Anyway... I wore them yesterday... Bent down, reached over, and buckled them!!! I guess it wasn't a design flaw after all! Too funny. Have a super week everyone.

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Freja, don't be discouraged we all loose differently and don't cheat yourself of a great resource, this site. This site has be a wealth of knowledge for me. I've learned a lot to add to what I already knew. Are you taking any medications still? I found that my meds are hindering my weight loss. So I know how it feels and what can do to your feelings & mind to see others going through the same thing at the same time and lose double, triple & quadruple the amount of weight! I had to tell myself that this was not a raise. I did this for my health more so than pounds lost. It will not hurt me if it takes me 12 months to get to goal just as long as I get to goal eventually. Keep in mind your genetic profile plans a big part in how your body responds. I will say don't get caught up in the pounds.Measure yourself weekly as I do you will see great change. And be rewarded with a week or two worth of NSVs from the tape measure, yourself & whomever you may have to help measure you...my husband gives the best NSVs! He cheered me up & cheers me on when I was feeling like you breifly. I have been stalled for 4 weeks, scales say not much has changed but the measuring tape says much has! So embrace this moment learn & grow from it. Plus, I'm sure it has been said but keep in mind the bigger a person is the more they will lose fast. And a plus for you to think about and this excites me...slower you lose the better it is for your skin to recover! Less need for plastics....all for that! Stay positive, keep reading because you are not alone sister. And guess what I am a December sleever, we are all in this together! Stay up beat...lol I ain't hard to find I'm always posting something....do some reflecting so you can see the bigger picture. Best of luck. Many blessings. This is a new year, time for new thinking and a new you! Shape up girl & get with the program! XOXO ~CJ
