From size 46 to size 18!
AnnetteT replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
What an amazing NSV!!! I'm so excited for you...you are an exceptional role model for all of us bandsters on this site. CONGRATS!!!!!!!! -
Well I think I've just had the most mind blowing NSV yet (and I've had a lot of them!) When I started this journey a year ago, I wore a size 46. I had to special order all my clothes online because I couldn't find clothes big enough to fit me in stores, not even the plus size stores. I gave up wearing blue jeans decades ago. Today, for the first time in 20 years, I am wearing size 18 jeans. I SO love my band!!! (below is my happy dance!)

NO MORE SNORING!
lessofmeismore replied to fancynancy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That's awesome... Some nights I still snore for some odd reason but most nights I'm a silent sleeper Congrats on the NSV Girls night here you come!!! -
Kymie, loved your most recent post. Great NSV and good reminders to us all. Well-said. JDI, I so very much hear your frustration, but you are going in the right direction for sure and you can do it. Half a pound after a big 5 pound loss is really, really good when you think about it realistically. BTW my bandiversary was Jan 18. I thought it would be a big day for me, but was so busy I forgot! Sue, how very cool for the plastics opportunity and even more for being pain free. Nicole, it's your year for sure. Newbies, welcome to you ... And may we suggest that start reading this thread from page 1... It's got to be chockful of info over this past year. Lol. Hard to believe we are now experienced!! :-) OK now for a drumroll please...... I weigh 169 this morning!!!! I know that is only a 1 pound loss (in 2 months no less).... But you all know how I wanted to get past 170, and I did! I did! I did! Oh my looking at this post seems kind of silly, but there are a couple of you out there (NJ are you out there) that get what this one pound means to me. A whole, whole lot.. Have a beautiful weekend everyone. :-)

Oh yeah! That was an NSV for me as well as my daughter hugging me with room to spare. I can also reach that itchy spot on back and this is TMI, but I think you will all understand - not being able to adequately wipe oneself. Now I can make by body do pretzel movements a Yogi would be proud of. I was also at a weight where rental horses would not carry me. My friend's Morgan mare I rode could carry me, but she's a tank. I didn't used to be able to mount without a mounting block, but now I can swing myself up on the tallest horse from the ground and I'm 5'1"! Then there is the fact that I can run up mountain trails - even at 10,000 ft. Plus, someone said, "How ya doin' Slim" to me yesterday. You folks have so much to look forward to and I'm happy for all of you to get this chance.

ShrinkyDinkMe terrific, great feeling sat down at a booth one day, and almost fell because all of a sudden there was all this extra space. same happened at the movies!! NO such thing as a "small NSV" kudos -
Practicing my positive attitude! Week 5 Update HW: 273 SW: 250 LW: 232.8 CW: 233.8 (+1) Up one this week due to f**k ass trick ass mark ass Moms Nature. She should be showing up sometime this next week, taking this pound and some others with her so yes. NSV’s— all my buttons button. HUZZAH! I am getting lots of compliments at work because the loss is obvious now. They say they see it in my face and my thinning profile. Yay, that’s nice to hear. I’ve walked 7 of the 10 mile goal I set on the 15th. I plan to overshoot that so I should be close to 20 miles in January. FUN! I think I am going to push myself to walk two miles a day… the ONE mile thing doesn't even get me breathing hard unless I kind of jog it.

That's a huge NSV! I had the same problem pre sleeve. Also, yesterday I noticed I don't have to tilt my booty over to put my seatbelt on anymore! Haha! -

This is my favorite NSV too! I still have to remind myself to NOT say, "table, not booth," when being seated at a restaurant. Congratulations! -

Hubs and I and another couple went to dinner last Saturday night. I always dreaded being seated in a booth bc i was always snug or my belly touched the table. As I gained more weight I found it hard to hold my head over the table when I ate bc my tummy was holding me back. Well we got seated in a booth Saturday. I cringed at first and thought... No I got this. We then started to eat... I looked down... My tummy was not touching the table and I had extra room! I was so excited. Just had to share. -
I had my first post-op appointment since surgery last Friday, and it could not have gone better. 1) As of my pre-op weigh-in on 1/10, I'm down 14 pounds. 2) My incisions are healing perfectly, and I can remove the steri-strips on Monday. 3) I was given my "restaurant card" to use when I finally venture out to eat. 4) I am sloooooowly becoming able to get in more liquids, and even the Protein shake I gagged on when I tried to drink it on Sunday, I'm now able to tolerate. 5) The horrible alien gurgling sounds in my chest/throat that have plagued me for the past 3 days are quieting down somewhat. 6) Best of all, I've graduated to puréed foods for the next 2 weeks! My first experiment: instant mashed potatoes with ICBINB spray. HEAVENLY! 7) Oh, and I did two workout videos today (Walk Away the Pounds), for a total of 5 miles. I feel absolutely wonderful! This is the best decision I've made in my life. For those of you who are struggling in the early days: be patient, because every day gets better. Every day I wake up, I have more energy and more desire to see this through. I am so thankful and grateful that I came through this with no major complications.

All these NSV's are FABULOUS. One of my favorite NSV is being able to reach the car glove box with my seat belt on AND being able to reach the trucks emergency break realse with my seat belt on. God I love this feeling and the booth thing at a restraunt is totally awesome.

OMG, I forgot all about this cause I stopped wearing tights and hose cause it was TOO AWFUL getting them on. Thanks for this NSV.

One of those boring Success Stories :)
icon23 replied to TheCurvyJones's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! I'm really glad to hear that this is going so well for you. I am a week post-op and I'm having no trouble getting in my liquids and protein, but I haven't transitioned to pureed or actual foods yet. Everything has gone so smoothly so far, I certainly hope that I won't have any trouble with those transitions. I, too, am really happy with this decision and can't wait until I am able to start posting my NSVs and success stories. Now, I just have to think of a good name for my sleeve--you inspired me! Wishing you continued success. -
Kymie that is a food NSV!! I was also excited about that & when I tried a normal towel it went ALL the way around me & I could tuck it in!!

I had some stretchy pull on jeans that were tight a year ago, and became less so after I lost some weight pre-op- they were a size 4x. Since surgery they had become un-wearable, finally had to toss them because I noticed a hole in the butt. So I ordered some new ones in a size 2x (18-20), thinking I am probably closer to a 3x, but they are stretchy. If they are a little tight I could just deal and will shrink into them. I got them in the mail today, tried them on and they fit perfectly- NOT TIGHT! It's a lift I needed since I have been in a stall for over a week. Yay for NSVs!!!!! -Kendra

Great NSV. For some reason we can see our progess in pictures better than in the mirror. Keep up the good work!

Last night I went roller skating. (That in itself is an Nsv) some friends wanted pictures for Facebook. When I looked at the pics, my first response was "Holy crap! When did I get a normal-sized face?!" I now have a visible neck and a slimmer face! I love this band!!

...well, it is major for me, and perhaps a number of women here. I am finally able to put on stockings without having to be a contortionist! I used to get out of breath trying to cross my legs, bend over and try to get those damn stockings on without falling over or ripping them! NOT ANYMORE!!! It is amazing what 71 pounds and lots of lost inches can do for a girl!

WOW, great NSV!!!! Thank you for your service, Karrisa.

So I wanted to share with you all that I was able to put on an air pack and crawl over 100ft without completely draining my energy for the day lol. 91lbs really has made a difference!

so many NSV's during my journey and even now
dfav3412 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
People post about their NSV's and I have had my share of them. I was blessed that I could have this surgery and have the surgery team and follow up that I do. Over the years and even up to now I have had and still get NSV's. The first one and one that is a biggie amoung weightloss patients is crossing their legs, now I will share some more: I have more confidence than I ever had in my life, I love having my picture taken (I don't have many pictures of me prior and that is sad), I love clothes shopping, I love dressing up, I can fit into a resturant booth with plenty room to spare, I fit in my seat on an airplane and not invade someone's space, my tray on the airplane comes all the way down, I have plenty of seatbelt left over and don't have to ask for a seat belt extender. I have made many good lapband friends all over the country and the world and one has turned out to be one of my best friends-Em, you know who you are . This year and it is early in the year...I have done an interview with a local magazine about my lapband story which was published this month. I was honored when asked to be a guest lapband speaker at the hospitial seminar (hosptial where I had my surgery) and I did good too. I reached the people attending...why because I've been in their shoes. I have lost a person or 2 small children in weight and I have maintained my weight for 3 1/2 years. Yep, I know there will be more to come. -
Got to love those NSVs! Congrats!
