    Airline Seat Belt Extension

I actually flew to Portland on Thursday. Even before surgery I did not have to ask for a seat belt extender, but I was getting close! My nsv is that on Thursday, I was able to cross my legs while sitting in a coach seat!! I couldn't believe it and I kept crossing and uncrossing them just to prove I could do it. Amazing! Travel is so much easier now and I plan to do a lot more!

    NSV

Husband picked me up for the first time in 15 years! Sounds stupid, but made me teary eyed!
  3. My daughter tried out for softball today, and did so well the coach recruited her on the spot. On the way to car, she runs and catches us (out of breath) and explains she wants my 10yr old on her team and to secure her from the draft she needede ME to be her assistant coach...Im scheduled for surgery in three Weeks with Dr. Garcia, and will six Weeks post op when the season starts..Sleevie Family! I am usually a team mom, And my husband coaches baseball, but I got SO excited thinking how I could be active and feeling good about myself something I have always wanted to do, never played sports because I was an overweight child, I just wanted to share with my extended family this pre op NSV!

    Nsv!!!!
  5. Completed a 2 hour Zumbathon and felt great doing it.
  6. That's an awesome NSV! Congratulations!
  7. Ohhh its the little things that mean so much! Congrats on your NSV. I can't wait for that one lol!
  8. Oooh..I had an NSV today! Went for a haircut and sat in the chair and while I still filled it, I didn't squeeze into it. Oh boy, was I smiling on the inside at that.
  9. After getting out of the shower today, I noticed a normal bath towel fits all the way around me now! Not a beach towel, but a normal size bath towel! It covers all of me, that if need be, I could walk out of the bathroom with no worries! I am unsure of how long it has been in my life since one fit around me! Wow, it's the little things that make this journey so encouraging!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Where do you men shop for regular sizes?

I have vowed to never again walk into a Casual Male. I think Kohls is a good choice, from what I've seen walking around d one with my wife, although I need tall lengths, so they may be limited. JC Penney has tall sizes, so that probably will be OK for me. I like Lands' End for catalog shopping. NSV... was in Walmart the other day buying something else, and walked by the jeans. I wondered, 'Well, I'm down a bit... Let's see.' And I found a pair that fit well!!!! There was only one pair of 46-32, but I bought them! First time buying pants in a regular department store since like 2004ish!

    Who's small?

Congrats on the weight loss. What a great feeling it is when snuggling with hubs/boyfriend and feeling so close. I love this too. Yeah, self perception is a tricky thing and I think that most people struggle with trying to see ourselves as others see us (small or tiny for example). It has taken me awhile to adjust to my reflection, but like other things it gets more "normal" feeling as time passes by. In the mean time, enjoy all of the little nsvs that occur and keep on plugging towards goal. You will be there before you know it.

    Seven in a Minivan

Good NSV!! Love that you can climb without trbl.
  14. Today my team at work went out for lunch. There was seven of us and one Minivan (that seated seven). Pre band I would have to ride shotgun. Today, I climbed all the way to the very back seat. Yep I was one of the three in the back. I fit! I was so pleased that I rode back there both ways. I love a good NSV!

From size 46 to size 18!

Well I think I've just had the most mind blowing NSV yet (and I've had a lot of them!) When I started this journey a year ago, I wore a size 46. I had to special order all my clothes online because I couldn't find clothes big enough to fit me in stores, not even the plus size stores. I gave up wearing blue jeans decades ago. Today, for the first time in 20 years, I am wearing size 18 jeans. I SO love my band!!! (below is my happy dance!)

Kymie, loved your most recent post. Great NSV and good reminders to us all. Well-said. JDI, I so very much hear your frustration, but you are going in the right direction for sure and you can do it. Half a pound after a big 5 pound loss is really, really good when you think about it realistically. BTW my bandiversary was Jan 18. I thought it would be a big day for me, but was so busy I forgot! Sue, how very cool for the plastics opportunity and even more for being pain free. Nicole, it's your year for sure. Newbies, welcome to you ... And may we suggest that start reading this thread from page 1... It's got to be chockful of info over this past year. Lol. Hard to believe we are now experienced!! :-) OK now for a drumroll please...... I weigh 169 this morning!!!! I know that is only a 1 pound loss (in 2 months no less).... But you all know how I wanted to get past 170, and I did! I did! I did! Oh my looking at this post seems kind of silly, but there are a couple of you out there (NJ are you out there) that get what this one pound means to me. A whole, whole lot.. Have a beautiful weekend everyone. :-)

    Airline Seat Belt Extension

Oh yeah! That was an NSV for me as well as my daughter hugging me with room to spare. I can also reach that itchy spot on back and this is TMI, but I think you will all understand - not being able to adequately wipe oneself. Now I can make by body do pretzel movements a Yogi would be proud of. I was also at a weight where rental horses would not carry me. My friend's Morgan mare I rode could carry me, but she's a tank. I didn't used to be able to mount without a mounting block, but now I can swing myself up on the tallest horse from the ground and I'm 5'1"! Then there is the fact that I can run up mountain trails - even at 10,000 ft. Plus, someone said, "How ya doin' Slim" to me yesterday. You folks have so much to look forward to and I'm happy for all of you to get this chance.
  20. ShrinkyDinkMe terrific, great feeling sat down at a booth one day, and almost fell because all of a sudden there was all this extra space. same happened at the movies!! NO such thing as a "small NSV" kudos

Week Five Weigh in and NSV's....

Practicing my positive attitude! Week 5 Update HW: 273 SW: 250 LW: 232.8 CW: 233.8 (+1) Up one this week due to f**k ass trick ass mark ass Moms Nature. She should be showing up sometime this next week, taking this pound and some others with her so yes. NSV’s— all my buttons button. HUZZAH! I am getting lots of compliments at work because the loss is obvious now. They say they see it in my face and my thinning profile. Yay, that’s nice to hear. I’ve walked 7 of the 10 mile goal I set on the 15th. I plan to overshoot that so I should be close to 20 miles in January. FUN! I think I am going to push myself to walk two miles a day… the ONE mile thing doesn't even get me breathing hard unless I kind of jog it.
  22. That's a huge NSV! I had the same problem pre sleeve. Also, yesterday I noticed I don't have to tilt my booty over to put my seatbelt on anymore! Haha!
  23. Whoo Hooo!!! I'm with you 100% on this one. Kinda like when I realized I coul move the seat in my truck forward without smushing my belly. Keep it ip. Great NSV!!!
