How did it go? That's a great NSV! -
My daughter asked me to go to the shopping mall with her yesterday. I hesitated, thinking, "nope, not able to do this". Well, I, decided to give it a try. Have n't been in the mall, let alone able to walk around one in more than three years. I did it! We had so much fun!!! Loving life, loving my sleeve, loving me!!! P.S.- Think I'll start posting my NSV's on my fridge, to keep motivated!

Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?
Smokey12 replied to sars's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just contacted my nutritionist about my 4 week stall. She said it was normal at this point to hit a stall, and keep doing what I'm doing. I does stink that the scale is not moving though. A NSV, I am off one of my BP meds, and I feel much better when I walk thru the terminals at the airport, I'm not as winded as I used to be. -
Hello All, Sorry, it's been awhile but I've been trying to read and keep up as posts come through. I hit 1yr on 1/17 I saw my nutritionist on 1/22. She said from 'our' first appointment I'm down 58 pounds. Wow, what a thrill. I went in for a fill on Friday 1/25 and oddly enough my appetite is off the charts high.. then I realized duhh stop eating and drink water between meals.. boom! down to 188 I thought the scale was broke! lol I'm still running upto about 12-14 miles per week (Weather permitting) jogging all the way! So, yes Ladybandito, every pound means a whole lot... Congratulation to all the newly banded, Olympic Training, Getting off Meds and all the other NSV's ladies..the band work for us because we work for the band. My doctor was telling how people still just think the band is a magic solution and try to live life as they did before being banded. My co-workers all call me "Skinny-Minnie" now but 1 lady said (who knows about my band) "I see you running and in your gym clothes everyday and eating healthy", you are doing well it's all you and a tiny bit 'the band'. That was a wonderful thing to say cause it proves I've changed my life and I made the band work for me! Good Job ladies, we aren't perfect and we slip often but we try and we succeed and we get up when we fall....Newbies, you may fall on your journey just remember to get back up and you'll do great!! the hardest part isn't falling it's getting back up.. this group of ladies was always here with encouragement, suggestions and advise that was a valuable part of my journey! so newbies, stick with this supportive group..you'll never regret it.

Who is scheduled for Jan 8th? I'm getting nervous
emeraldeye replied to 2013isit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi all.....happy Three weeks! I am not hungry upon waking and generally not hungry at all and sometimes force myself to eat to get needed protein and calories! BUT.....today I was starving on my start of my journey home from work, and had to stop at Giant anyway for a protein shopping trip and Lofthouse cookies for my daughter's birthday tomorrow and after walking around the store...back and forth because I couldn't find the quinoa and long story short, didn't feel hungry anymore. Got home and had a quarter of a small microwaveable sweet potato and some cottage cheese. My stomach hates food since I switched calcium meds.....I was on the lovely bariatric advantage caramel chews and I went cheap and got citrate chewable wafers from Vitamin world.....never again. Killed my appetite or what I had left of it! They are chalky and sort of like really bad TUMS! I ordered a huge batch and put it on auto delivery for the chews on Sunday.....so, hoping they are here SOON! So daughter's birthday is tomorrow and am so glad that the Lofthouse cookies are not tempting AT ALL! Go me! I guess that is a "NSV"! I will let you know after tomorrow! Lol! ( ps....I have willpower with this sleeve!) Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Less of a basketcase...NSV this past week :)

Ok, I've had to do some journaling to stop and change perspective. Instead of focusing on what's ahead of me, to focus on what's happening today and what I've done this week. 1) Stopped drinking alcohol and I have only wanted to have a drink last night when **** hit the fan at home. 2) Stopped drinking soda and didn't miss it, crave it or anything. 3) Have gotten better about watiting at least 30 min between eating & drinking fluids 4) Consistenly getting about 68 oz of fluids each day 5) Reduced my caffiene intake (on 1/2 caff, not extra bold) coffee. I had caffeine withdrawal one day, and I've been fine since 6) Started exercising each day on my bike at home. 7) Started logging my food again and wearing my fitbit 8) Writing in my journal daily about EVERYTHING! That's a lot ot accomplish and I'm just gonna focus on this for today! -

Sometimes a Picture is all You Need...
kll724 replied to PattyGirl66's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I know what you mean. My daughter said she found a picture taken of me and my son circa 2008. We both have had lapband surgery. I 3 12/ years ago, him 1 1/2 years ago. she said we looked like 2 different people from then to now! Congrats on your NSV!!! -

Hello ladies (why do we not have a man on our forum? Lol). Nicole, your counseling suggestion is a very good one. If I had some xtra funds I just might do that, have done it before and loved the sessions actually. Like Nicki, I find some solace here too. Kymie, I am envious of your fills, and yet I am so afraid of being too tight. Like whenever I get upset (angry or frustrated actually) my band tightens like it is closed. Doesn't happen often but is scary when it does ... And that's at 2.8 in 10 ccs. JDI, nice on the NSV, and you have to know that we are all willing and praying and demanding that you put the ice cream down ... For 3 weeks to start and then we revisit it...game? It's Monday and my weigh-in is 168.

Hi there! My bandiversary was Saturday. I have my physical with my primary doc today and also my 1 year check up with my surgeon. I can't wait to see what my bloodwork shows as far as my numbers go, see what's up with that. Sarasota- as Nicole said, start walking as soon as you can! No lifting above 10 lbs for awhile, but definitely walk. Sue- congrats on your size 12's! I wish I were in them. I still can be, just have to get back on track! BUT- a small NSV- I had been wearing some Just My Size shorts I had bought before my surgery, and they are really big on me, I just tighten the drawstring. But I was cold yesterday, and I went into a dresser drawer I hadn't ventured into in years and pulled out a pair of knit pants- not tight like leggings, but knit- if you know what I mean. Anyways, they were size xl, normal xl not womens, and they fit just fine, not tight, looked okay! So that was good. I just need to freaking stop with the ice cream! We were having bad weather here, and so I justified it. So dumb. Speaking of bad weather in NC, where is NJ2NC? Did you survive the ice??? And where are our others- Otaknam, etc????? Everyone have a great day! MEREDITH!! I fell off the bandwagon hard, with my nemesis, ice cream. I mean hard. And I did it again this past weekend. I had done well for a couple weeks, then birthday cake in the office meant all my good stuff went out the window. Sigh. But it's a process, it's not like it's easy, even with the band. You will get back your mojo, let's get it back together, as I need it!! Nicole- all your suggestions are very good! My DH is absolutely against counseling of any type. Like, absolutely. So that's why I post here a lot! Y'all may not be "counselors" but you sure help me! I love your trainer post, the YMCA I go to offers it for free for 6 weeks, and I really should take advantage of that. Amica, you speak the truth- I TOTALLY know when I'm eating emotionally, it's the stopping I seem to have a problem with, LOL. My surgeon didn't require any counseling, beyond the prerequisite for insurance.

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
rdoactv replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats Frank! You're doing awesome. Being off the meds is a huge NSV. As I understand it, a 3-4 week stall is very common. Along with a few random ones along the path. Some ppl swear by changing up the workout routine, upping protein or even increasing cals by just a bit bumps them out of the stalls. But everyone seems to hit that dreaded 3-4 wk wall. You'll break through. Don't panic. Good luck! -
NSV are the best. Congrats

I ran into the manager at my local Curves at the pharmacy. She looked at me, stared in recognition, then said " Joanne, you've lost weight, you look wonderful." First person to notice or comment. : )
