Cuz we are on mainly liquids, hardly anything builds up in our bowels. My Dr recommended some milk of Magnesia. But he said he would also suggest a suppository first to see if that will work instead of MoM for the first couple weeks. I used a suppository the other day cuz it had been 6 days, (this will b TMI) but hardly anything was released. If you feel pain is cuz you can go then try a glycerin suppository. January 2013 Sleevers?

I'm home and resting. Surgery was Monday the 14th. It lasted 5 hours!!! I had a band which was taken out in April but my surgeon said it was still really bad...lots of scar tissue. And I had a large hernia to repair (probably caused by my band since I had my previous hernia repaired when my band was put in). Now I'm just trying to get my liquids in. I haven't done well with that yet. Each meal in the hospital was only 58 calories!!! I stayed in hospital 2 nights. The doc suggested staying the second night since I'm so far away. If I lived closer to the hospital I'm sure I would have been able to go home yesterday. But wow what a difference that second night made. I am feeling much better today than I did yesterday. Yesterday I was still in a drug induced fog. Today I washed up and dressed myself! Lol. Things I've noticed so far: crystal light not going down too well; soup, ice chips and jello are ok. I had no nausea. The hospital nutritionist seems to have linked severe nausea to people who also get motion sickness. She's been suggesting to her patients that get motion sickness to get the patch before surgery...just a thought to those of u with upcoming surgeries. Lastly, and maybe tmi, since I wasn't passing gas I had to have a suppository this morning before they released me to make sure I didn't have a blockage. It took awhile but I was all good. Well back to sipping! Crystal

Do I want to know Mr Fluffy's plans for the syrup on the nightstand or is it TMI? Remember Fluffy you're still a sick little birdie, no romping and stomping quite yet! let your wounds heal, I wouldn't want to explain to your surgeon how you busted a gusset, would you? Hey Guys....I agree Chez YAY ITS FRIDAY...such a great meme I would love to put on her from Mr Chow, but I won't its might be too much for some haha....for those of you who love Mr Chow (from the hangover) you can imagine what it says OK Bee.....about your TMI....here goes mine so turn away now peeps if you don't wanna know When I got my lapband i then got my period soon after.....and it continued for 12 weeks I had tabs to stop it and full check up etc and was told it was hormones. After the sleeve same thing started happening again....within a week of surgery and it kept going so after 4 weeks I went to my Docs and they gave me tabs again and that stopped it. Now apparently its because our hormones are all over the place from the surgery AND weight loss. Excess of eostrogen (sorry spelling ) and it is bound to happen to those of us who are sensitive to it. If it gets too much just go to your local GP and see what they say but it will probs sort itself out. I had to make sure that I got on top of mine as I am extremely low on Iron and take sups already and can't afford for it to get any worse. That dinner looks great Bee.....I too LOVE fetta but never tried it with watermellon???? Cool idea Is that all you could eat?? Chez I hope your ears get better and its so good to eat some real food after drinking your meals isn't it I couldn't do the shakes so went on the food equal and it was still hard but not so bad and its for such a short amount of time in the long run....way to go girl!!!! Ok so I have helped my mood a little yesterday.....I went SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES We all know retail therapy is sooooo much fun!!! I had an excuse because it's my friends 21st tonight and she has hired out a bar in the city and all of my clothes are getting too big and look funny now. Now this might not sound like such a big deal to some, but what happened to me last night was one of the most exciting things thats happened in a long time...... Normally when I go into a shop like Autograph (which I love) or any of the stores, I need the biggest size they have (26) Most of the time in places like Target the 26 wouldn't even fit me and the stuff that did if any was usually daggy and old fashioned. Well, last night....(drum roll please) not only was the sizes 26 too big for me, but I also found that the XL was too big for me.....What The??? Ok so I went a little crazy and spent way too much but how could I help myself right????? I was almost crying in the fitting room that the xl top was too big and the 26 looked like a tent on me. So I could actually CHOOSE....I had a CHOICE on what I wanted to buy because everything fit me!!!! I didn't just have to grab something utterly daggy just because it was the only decent thing that fit me....I got to choose some really cool clothes I know even a lot of people here wouldn't understand that but I have been restricted for so long with not being able to find anything to fit me, that this is massive for me (pardon the pun haha) Hubby said, "see I told you you had lost heaps" He is so sweet but you see I can't see it. I don't look in the mirror and see anything that different. To look at myself, I am just not noticing it but the clothes showed me that I have lost weight....bit of a breakthrough I had to share with everyone. Small things I know but to me it was AMAZING....now I just wish I could see it when I looked in the mirror but I guess that will come. Hope you all have an AMAZING FRIDAY.....Now I just have to decide what I will drink when I go out tonight?? Hmmmm decisions decisions

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Same as@bradleyY, I just got home today from the hospital. I have five incision sites that seem to be healing nicely and I've almost no pain from these. The gas pain is a different matter altogether and it seems to be taking some time for it to sort itself out. My diet today in the hospital started with a natural yoghurt and half a banana smoothie with a teaspoon of honey. I could only manage about 100mls before I was full. It had the effect though of getting my bowels going and boy did they go! (Sorry TMI I know). My energy levels are fairly low at the moment and a 30 min nap in the recliner tuned into three hours. Hopefully that won't stop me from sleeping later, but given I felt like I was conducting a snoring orchestra in the 4 bed ward I was in last night, I'm not surprised that I slept today. Overall, I feel really happy about my decision to have the sleeve so far and I've had great support from my wife and kids. I haven't told my wider family group yet about the specific surgery that I had, but that's a discussion for a different day.
  9. Just added you. I didn't have staples I have internal stitches and surgical glue at the site. Nothing at the drain site. I'm feeling good considering. I'm out of the house so I feel better. I'm also finally wearing a bra and undies lol TMI. One day at a time. How are you feeling??
  10. So I'm almost 29 and this is the list of things that made me want to do this. Now I know some of this is gonna be tmi or whatever but if it helps just one person to not feel alone or helps push them to finally go through it it's well worth it. So I can't do anything I love Horse back riding Running Volleyball Softball Bike riding Roller skating Sitting at a booth in a restaurant Wearing cute clothes that don't look like an old couch fabric or that I didn't have to order Not being able to be the mommy I should be to my son Volunteer fire fighting Now here are the things that aren't so pleasant to admit to or hear I can barely put on my own socks 9 times out of 10 I can't tie my own shoes I cry all the way home from work every night I pull a shift at the hospital cause my feet are in agony No Dr will help us have a second baby I have to wear sanitary pads because my bladder leaks without notice if I suddenly have to pee No matter how often I shower and wash I still feel like I have a smell I can't shave my legs as well anymore I also can't shave my lady parts alone anymore (thank god for a loving spouse! !) I hate that my boobs sag I used to be healthy I was a size 12 leaving hs and then it all went to hell I'm really just fed up with it all. Especially going into my closet and trying on everything I own but I'm too fat and they are all too tight Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App
  11. There are a lot of 'little things' that over time I've come to realize are not so little. I hate the fact that my kids will have tons of photos of themselves, but very few photos of us together. I hate the 'hard to wash' parts in the shower. TMI, but it's true. Yo Yo dieting - my last attempt was HCG - lost 40 lbs and gained back 50. Celebrating when my kids learned to swim - mostly so I could stop getting in the Water with them. Becoming less and less outgoing the bigger I get Feeling ashamed of being the biggest wife at my hubby's work functions I could go on, but you get the point.

    A New Day

Almost lost my previous post... iPad with a mind of it's own again. As I was attempting to write, I'm not certain what I would call it, but TMI, anything I ate several hours before will come back up while asleep. The rules whic I have discovered are to not have anything to eat for at least 2-3 hours before I go to bed, and only enough Water to take my evenings medication. Then I wait for another 90 minutes before I go to sleep. Typing invisibly again...

    Recreational Drugs

You're not asking a stupid question. And it's not TMI. Goddamnit, people depress me sometimes. First: when did you have surgery? Have you done coke before, and is this typical? Had you had alcohol since your surgery? Just based on the timing, I'd guess that you've got a stomach bug and that this isn't related to the drug use. Anyone vomiting for three days would feel ache in their stomach. Did you have a flu shot this year? Are you drinking a ton of Gatorade or Pedialyte to make up for the dehydration? If not, your symptoms are just going to feel worse. Even if this reaction has nothing to do with the coke or booze, you know that introducing a rogue element into a healing system isn't a good idea, obviously, and you'll be more careful in future. Good. Few things make me bristle with rage. Idiotic responses like this would be one of them. Her question was related to WLS, since she's concerned there's been an interaction between the drugs and the surgery. She's asking for help because she's worried. I am incredibly angry that your response was the first here, as it is worthless.
  15. Y’all, 😩 I’m one week post op today, and between yesterday and today I’ve had, LITERALLY, completely liquid bowel movements. Like, thought I needed to pass gas and.. yikes. Is there anything I can do to help this???
  16. Lynn, So exciting about your TT on the 19th -- this week, huh!!! SO cool! Drkel, My hairline didn't move with my mons lift. Most of the skin came out of the sides, incorporated in with a triangle incision into my medial thigh lift. The rest cam out of the top, but I guess they cut out the part with the hair and kept the part from my stomach because my hairline is rally identical to the pre-surgical placement. Or, it would be if I weren't a fan of the brazilian wax! TMI? Haha.
  17. Diridon, thank you for posting this link... wow i never knew that about the colors. I thought I was drinking enough, but I'm not usually at the top color. tmi= i'm usually the 2nd or third color which indicates i should be drinking even more than i already am. doesn't seem possible, but i'll work at it. today was my 2nd post op visit, where I asked the doc about my stall - I lost 21 pounds right away and have been stuck at 23 pounds lost for the last 4 of the 5 weeks since my surgery. He asked me about my exercise and i told him and he then proceeded to poopoo me and said a. you are only 5 weeks out you shouldn't be looking at things that way at this point and b. as long as i continue with a good exercise regimen the pounds will shed off of me and to not worry about this at all. (nota bene: my ticker is going by my highest weight on record, which is why it says 33 lbs lost. the doctor/official number is 10 lbs less than that because they are using a weight from a preop office visit that's lower than my highest recorded weight.) which is good, but then i look at everyone on here that are 4-5 weeks out and I'm seeing 30+, 40+, 50+ and sometimes even as much as 69 pounds lost in a month since surgery and I can't help but compare myself to that. Which I think I need not to do. that said, it's hard. I love reading everyone's posts here and i'm glad to be a part of this july sleever's forum. thanks for being here guys.

    Sex!!!

i have not been diagnosed with pcos, but i have not been to a real gyno in years. i show many symptoms. thanks for sharing about the diabetic thing. thankfully he can get hard and he does often, sometimes it just takes more to get it there (my not even be related to sugar..it's probably in his head (pun intended)). sometimes i want him to be physically attracted to me and not have to work for although i know that he isn't. he loves me and he thinks that i am beautiful, but it affect the raw attraction aspect of it. you know what i mean...??? he on the other hand is fit..and honestly..and i'm not being mean in any way..but i have never been attracted to heavier men..it just isn't there for me. and no matter how "thick" i have gotten my men have always been cut. if he were as obese as i am, i would need help getting "wet" too. i need help now, but it's not because of his looks, sometimes i just have a hard time getting my mind to shut off. i didn't think you were laughing at me. you are hilarious. i love your posts. i bet you will be so glad when you get to see your husband. i live in jacksonville, arkansas and there is a base here. i believe there may be another in arkansas, but it is the main one. it is air force. anyways, most of the people that live here are military, so i know what you are talking about. i also work at a mortgage company and about 90% of our loans are military so i talk to a lot of seperated spouses. oh..and toys..i love them. well..i say i do, but i do not have a running collection and i tend not to go toward anything that penetrates. i know..i know tmi. but if all i ever had to use was a toy i would die. dh has gotten me some for b-days and stuff and he lets incorporate them (on myself---unless it is a sleeve or something)..but the weight kind of affects that too..sometimes it is too hard to reach areas that need to be contacted because my gut is in the way, or my arms are just too short...or you get the point. SOOO..losing weight will help with that for sure. then i can just incorporate my toys whenever i want. dh doesn't mind, as long as i enjoy it. plus i tend to let him get away with more (i have a pain during sex) when i do incorporate because it helps relax muscles, and he can be as rough as he wants. ahahahahaha..i'm literally going to jump him tonight. oh and funny thing..i used to not be able to treat him orally very often because of my neck...ooo when i went to the chiro for the very first time..i wouldn't stay away from him...i was "bobbin" all day..ahahahahah

    MAY 2013 POST-OP GROUP

I am home. Surgery went well. Am home trying to just get in water and protein. This is probably tmi. But I have finally started passing gas. And I am a happy girl. Husband not so much. Lol

    I thought they were trolls

Of course, on a TMI note I should also add that I just finished my cycle a couple days ago. In hindsight, that might have added to my Water retention.
  21. Oh, also want to add this part of their pre-op: 14 Days Prior to Surgery Do not smoke. Follow Pre-Op Diet below: Use any premixed canned or powdered protein drink that contains at least 15 grams of protein. You may purchase these in any health food store or many grocery stores. Wal-Mart EAS pre mix is excellent for pre op but BIO CHEM is great powder for after surgery. Breakfast: 1 protein drink Lunch: 1 protein drink Dinner: Salad with Protein 6 oz for women…8 oz for men (chicken, fish, egg, etc.), small amount of low-fat or fat-free dressing, or olive oil and vinegar. Evening Snack: 1 protein drink (if needed). You may also take 1 Metamucil capsule per day for hunger (if needed). I bought some store brand Metamucil and take it with my lunch and a bottle of water. I don't know if it is all in my mind...but it does help with hunger (for me!). I know it has psyllium husk in it, which expands in your stomach making you feel fuller. Probably TMI (or not), but I thought Metamucil would make me need to use the bathroom alot...it does not- which is good! I tried the EAS drinks...they are OK, too. For some reason, the GNC Lean 25's keep me fuller than Premeir Protein (30g of protein). I have no idea how that works, but I will roll with it. Good luck! WE GOT THIS!

    For those who have PCOS

Applesmith, There is something your doc can give you to make it stop, if you really want it too. Unfortunately, heavy periods come along with PCOS. The longer you don't she your lining, the more there is to shed. I used to only get my periods about 1-2 times a year. This means that I would bleed for about 40 days at a time!! I know, TMI, but its true!!!

    Acid reflux AFTER Gastric bypass?

I'm sorry that you are having this issue. My SIL has the sleeve, and she has had horrible issues with reflux. She never had it before even with her 3 pregnancies. Before my surgery I had untreated Gerd for 9 years, they discovered it during the waiting period and put me on pepcid. It changed my life! He even went in and had to repair a 2 or 3cm intrusion in my stomach BEFORE doing my RNY. Well everything went great for 6 months, the GERD didn't return- but the loud, explosive (TMI) belching did. So I went back on pepcid and I take it daily. I have heard that RNY has helped several people but for me, it has reduced the acid greatly but NOT eliminated it completely. Good luck Sent from my SM-G975U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. What dosage of milk of magnesia did you all try out? Sorry for TMI, but I’m day three of post-op and am very blocked up, feeling like I need to BM pretty bad but not able to get anything going. The recommended dose is 2tbsp with a full glass of Water, but I’m only drinking 1oz every fifteen minutes...I’m curious what you all tried and what worked for you...not sure whether fill 2tbsp is too much or if just doing the 1tbsp is not enough?

Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

I will be released from the hospital today. Yesterday was a bit rough. Today I am feeling much better. I have been walking and sipping. It is hard because I am just not interested in anything right now They were unsure how long my surgery would be since I am a revision patient. They said I did not have a lot of scar tissue. My doctor said I would be more sore than normal because they used some of the same entry points. As I was typing I passed GAS! I know tmi! I had a hard time going pee and was dehydrated yesterday. They fixed all that. I didn't eat much for my first meal yesterday and so they left the other stuff if I wanted to eat it. That did not happen.
