Guys, I had a nice NSV the past week or so. I have been wearing my favorite cologne for a while now but all of the sudden women are stopping and saying omg you smell so good, five separate times this week alone. Don't remember that 60 lbs ago. May be my body chemistry is changing with the weight loss. I am seven weeks out. I'll take it.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

Wow! Yoda, it sounds like you are making fabulous progress :clap2: and I liked hearing Dr. Yau's advice about the plateaus, and the inches vs the pounds. It made me feel better about not having a scale and relying exclusively on NSVs. (My size 16 skinny jeans are getting a little loose and I just paid for them.:phanvan ) It's too bad I wasn't able to meet you while you were in TO.:cry It would have been fun to meet one of you in the flesh. Oh, well....... Your drive sounds horrible. The driving conditions yesterday were very bad even down here in the city and we tend to get off lightly when it comes to snowy blizzards. I'm glad that you made it here and back safely. -

Well, I see Mr Yoda provided a good overview of our trek to TO. I couldn't have said it any better: the Queen "We Will Rock You" was ABSOBLOODYLUTELY amazing!!! nuff said! I must disagree about the pool though....I LOOOOOOOOVED it.....(Mr Yoda is missing the gene that keeps him warm).....it was a wee bit on the chilly side but very refreshing and I love to splash around in the Water. Funny thing though (NSV, I guess) ....I didn't feel at all uncomfortable in my bathing suit (first time in a loooooong time).....I showed lots of cleavage (hehe....Mr Yoda liked THAT part) but my bottoms (they were the "boy short" type bottoms) were too big and I was awfully paranoid that they were flapping around and showing "bits" that they shouldn't when they got wet ...(apparently Mr Yoda reallllly liked THAT part!).....thankfully there weren't too many others around. I didn't even feel compelled to "cover up" on my way through the hotel to the pool etc.....held my head high and everything!!!! WOOOT WOOOT!!! But yeah, the dinner at the Delta Chelsea SUCKED....I was very disappointed. (but all else more than made up for it!). Oh....one other thing.....*sigh*....the lead in the musical was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY freakin' cute!!! :kiss ("shagalayo gigilo) -

Nah......I will never get tired of this one, or anything sharing our NSVs. I don't even mind it when brand new newbies ask the same questions that come up every week. -

Another NSV for me. I sang with my workshop choir again, in concert yesterday for the first time in four years! It felt so good!!! I'm still trying to get use to people not recognizing me, lol!!! I guess that's a good thing. -

I haven't posted lately because I haven't had any NSV's until today. As I was walking down to the kitchen to put my lunch in the fridge, a co-worker from a different dept who I really don't speak to all that much stopped me and said that she noticed I was losing weight and that I look great. -

Count me in! I like the NSV idea, but my suggestion would be to post one NSV a week instead of 2 or 3... That's just me though, I'm not very good at thinking of them. I don't have a big preference on the challenge length - I really like having a place to weigh-in every week. -

Ok, I'm in, although I have little chance to win anything. Gee, the end of March? Hell, I have a chance to lose a whole pounds in 3 month. Geeze I really am turning into a bitter old woman. Okay, my NSVs for the week... Last night I went skiing for 3 hours. Didn't huff or puff at all, and I didn't need my puffer either. So, that puts me at 3 NSVs. Wait, make that 4 NSVs, I'm not sore from skiing yesterday. -

start: 1/3/06 210 lbs 1/8/06 205 lbs (-5) -- I totally got back on track this week! NSV- my supervisor hadn't seen me in two weeks (over the holidays) and she said My God, you're getting smaller! I hadn't lost any additional weight between Christmas & New Years, so that really made me feel good and realize that even though you're not losing pounds, you're probably losing inches! That being said, here's NSV #2 NSV 2- I bought a pair of pants just before Christmas and I hadn't worn them until one day last week I wore them to work. They fit looser. NSV 3- I moved down one BMI category (from severely obese to obese) -

I think I"ll just have my weight ticker tattooed in place, it's never going to change. I had two NSVs this week. One is that I went to a party where I only knew one person. Big deal? Yup, big deal since I am terrified of groups people. It's not like they are spiders or kittens or something like that, but I have avery difficult time with groups of people I don't know, I'm very shy. (yeah, who would believe that?) But I went to the party, and I was charming and talked to everybody. I don't think my husband would have recognized me.... The other NSV is that I've accepted that I'm not going to lose weight. Not until this Cushing's thing has been addressed or resolved. But because I've accepted it, I don't have to stress over it. I don't have to beat myself up any more. Oh wait, one more NSV, I need to take my watch to the Jewlers to have one of the links removed from the band! -

I'm frustrated with how slow I'm losing, but when I look back it's been 6 weeks since the start of this challenge and I've lost 10 lbs, so that's not that slow. Anyone else felt like this? Maybe it's just lack of patience, maybe it's because I've been comparing myself again to others on the board whose weight seems to be just rapidly falling off. Mostly it's just my fault -- I haven't been exercising nor drinking enough, and I don't always make the best food choices. Anyway Start: 240 Now: 230 NSV -- I'm not sure I have one this week. I'm tired, cranky and frustrated. My "big issue" is with my little girl, who is 2 and needs her mommy around. Between crunch time at work (i.e. needing to work overtime) and knowing she needs my full attention in the evening before bed, I am not making time to exercise. And yet I still want my weight to drop as if I were. Someone just bonk me on the head with something, please! Maybe i'll get some sense knocked into me. -
