    Non Scale Victories (NSVs)!

Let's hear your lap band related good news that DOESN'T involve your scale! There's tons of them out there - Did someone give you an unsolicited compliment? Did a previously negative person come around? Did you have your first positive experience in a dressing room, or get that outfit you've been yearning for? Share them all!
  3. I was a little discouraged this morning because I am only a couple days past 2 weeks post-op and this is like the 4th day in a row that the scale hasn't budged. So, instead of freaking out and giving up (which I probably would have done in the past) I decided to take my measurements. The last time I took my measurements was only about 9 days ago so I didn't expect a huge change but I just wanted to test the "if you're not losing pounds, you're probably losing inches" theory and boy am I glad I did!.... 1 inch here, 2 inches there, 1/2 inch here and there, for a total of 6 inches lost over the past 9 days! I'm not gonna lie, I still desperately wanna see that scale start moving down again but I'm SO excited about my first NSV that I just wanted to share it with my sleeve-friends and to hopefully encourage those who are also going through a "stall" to check your measurements regularly because even though I was sad this morning, now I feel re-energized and re-motivated to keep going! :)

    skirt silly

time to go shopping! You are going to loose your skirts, silly girl! As short as you are, you would look much more attractive in a skirt about to your knee! Great NSV!!!!

    Purging the closet

About the same time I was ready to start purging some items, I received a donation bad in the mail from the Lupus foundation. They request you fill it up and give them a call. They came and picked up 3 big bags of very good condition items. Double my NSV!!

    Very first NSV!!!

I have a 4yr old daughter and for Christmas she had got me a "mommy and me" necklace. i love it so much but was heartbroken when I had to tell her that it wouldnt fit around my neck. She was a little dissappointed but I told her I would put in a special place till I could wear it. Well today getting her ready for pre-school she asked me to wear the necklace she got me. i was nervouse about trying it on but IT FIT!!!! She was so excited that i was wearing it to work and it is the first thing since being banded that I have noticed about myself changing. She was so happy and kept telling me to show everyone and to let them know she got it for her mommy! I was banded 12/3/12 and have lost 36lbs but I havent seen the changes yet so this was a first!

    Weight loss for 300+ sleevers!

I'm 5'6" and was 331 pounds at my highest weight in mid-2012. I was 316 pounds on the day of my surgery (12/20/12). I have been 297 or 298 pounds (depending on the day, aaargh) since 1/18/13. I am doing everything I'm supposed to do, but I can't break this stall. I've also been trying to concentrate on NSVs instead of what the scale says, but I have been feeling very discouraged and depressed for a couple of days. I know I shouldn't compare my weight loss to others' losses, but that's hard to do sometimes. Thanks to everyone who posted their amazing progress! Your posts are inspiring and got me out of the dumps today. I'm sure I'll look back on this month and laugh once I'm six months post-op.

What an amazing NSV!!! You are rocking your sleeve!

    Over this stall

I was sleeved the same day as you. I too have been on a 3.5 week stall. The scale finally moved yesterday, but it was a small move. It's frustrating, but I'm going to keep doing what I have been doing, because I know the scale will eventually move. A NSV is that I lost 16.75 inches so far.

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

It sounds like you might be on a two week stall. I hear over and over how common this is and to not freak out. Just keep following your rules and it'll pick back up!! If you're having trouble with the scale- then you should focuse on some NSV's.. Take your measurments and see where you are!!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Was in a stall for over three weeks....finally broke this weekend and was down 12lbs !!! Went shopping in friends closet and was able to get into a size 18 shirt and pants !!! Yea NSV !! I was thrilled because last June was wearing size 28 pants.....and have pretty much gone thru all the smaller sizes had in my closet. I have been holding out buying any new clothes. I am officially down 130lbs since June 4 at my seminar weigh in, and 83lbs since surgery on Sept 18. Yes I am losing some of my hair too, but I wear mine really short so not real noticeable.
  20. I'm glad your stall is over!! 60lbs is a great ... and a lot of NSV for you also!! Which is also great!
  21. I've been very frustrated that I could lose 60 pounds and still be wearing all my same clothes. Well I have noticed that my pants are getting a bit baggy, so I got out my few smaller clothes and sure enough I have dropped two sizes comfortably ( 24 to 20), though since I have so many clothes I won't give them all up yet until I can replace them with a few more smaller ones. And the good news is that after no movement for the past month, I finally lost 2 pounds today. Yay. 9 lbs to go to be halfway to my goal. Scale Victory - For the first time in 26 years, I weigh less than my husband. NSV - I can wear my diamond wedding band set again which I haven't been able to put on for a few years without it cutting into my finger and bleeding. Now they slip on and twirl around with great ease. It's amazing how much 2 pounds can lift your lift your spirits when it's going down or crush them when it's going up. I expected the 2 week stall after surgery. I heard a lot about it. I just didn't expect it to last a month. Hopefully I will continue to lose and not have to wait another full month. For now, I"m deliriously happy.
