Hi Gang - Just catching up on my lunch hour... Phly - This is one of the reasons I am glad not to have a DH.. But for 43 yr hell ya you need to celebrate - I couldn't make 3 yrs (twice same guy ;0) and what food you don't eat he can eat or you can take homed. Chim - Hot wash cloth or bath for the pain and to reduce the swelling, add some fat to your diet and water water water. Ruby - Sorry for the Slime - me to just one more bite - I don't have a fill yet - but I hope I know when to stop when i do.. One little rhyme i learned in WW - better in thee (trash) than in Me... I use this still today.. Marcy - My Brothers & I would do that with a bowl of cheeto's - who would get more than the other:hungry: Jeanie - My blood pressure meds have water pill - so I am lucky no water here - but they always tell you to drink more wate to get rid of it - doesn't make sense but who am i :phanvan Sunny- Popcorn?? As long as it wasn't loaded with butter, calorie wise you should be ok.. Kathy - I ate cheese enchillada this weekend, 2 for dinner and grazed on the other 2.. No wonder i am not losing but 1 lbs a week:faint:.. I was told that I was most likely under-estimating my calories - so Sunday I bought a scale (digital) that gives you calories - protein - etc - I think it was a good investment (was a little pricey) - I weighed out my fish & chicken - been weighting watermelon, veggies etc. I am trying to keep calories at 1000 - 1200... It's hard... My goal this week is to walk 2 miles 4 - 5 this week (did it Sat & yesterday) As far as shopping - i am buying too much. Once I took the 3 packages of fish and 1 chick and weighted it out i have enought for 3 weeks... And veggies - my eyes have always been bigger than my tummy. I guess i am afaired i am going to starve - yea right got enough reserve to feed an army :girl_hug: Just had salad with tuna - light ranch dressing and tummy letting me know bathroom break coming up - my tmi is that i too have diarrah about once a week but the rest of the time is soft, never hard - but i think i get enough fat - (maybe too much). Ok it's almost one - gotta get back to work - Talk to ya'll later. Janet

Only4Me, Yes we are...I mentioned this many, many posts ago, but come New Year's 2008, we're all gonna be Hottie Jalotties!!! Mango, YES, YES, YES!!!! I was soooooo constipated on Friday. I was miserable. Took a stool softener. WARNING...TMI coming up...I think I now have a hemorrhoid. And now it is painful when I go. Very painful, like something is tearing (and I have a high tolerance for pain). I've always been very regular prior to banding. So, what I've done is added Raisin Nut Bran to my list of mushies. I let the cereal get mushy before I eat it, but I want to try to get my bran in by eating more fiber...before I try the Benefiber. Don't know if the cereal is okay, but I will not let myself get like I was last Friday. I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. Try drinking some prune juice. That should get things moving.

What you guys were/are experiencing is absolutely normal. I don't think I drank much of anything for the first two days after surgery. You have a general feeling that there is a big glove surrounding your food canal and squeezing. That's your body going "WHOA! What's THIS!" to the band, and trying to heal. Everything feels tender after surgery, and this is no exception. About 2 weeks out you will really start to feel human again. A couple of things you will experience to a great extent probably for the first time though are (1) you will burp....a LOT....this is GREAT. You're getting rid of the air they pump into you for surgery...that's the gas you feel crawling around inside you and generally settling PAINFULLY up in your shoulder, neck, etc.... (2) you will....uh....fart....a LOT. Get used to ducking into other rooms or stepping outside of a building...by the way, I didn't notice much, if any smell at all (TMI, I know...but as long as we are getting things in the open....) (3) you will GROWL and I mean GROWL a LOT and LOUD. The growlies are amazing. Kindof feels like an earthquake in your tummy. Growlies will be a part of your life pretty much from now on (I call it my Beast....it tells me when it needs something put in to shut it up) and was something as a fat person I had never experienced (who waits long enough for your stomach to growl before feeding it....ha! Not ME!). The audible growlies seemed to have lessened after my first month or so, but I still growl about every three hours or so, just not so people across the room can hear anymore! HAHAHA!

Anyone able to eat cheese
Big Wave Dave replied to Jobstud's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I Love the stuff and have been able to eat it, not to much it kind of plugs me up I know TMI but just wanted to put in 2 cents worth. Aloha BWD -
Sorry if this is TMI, but I have to ask. I was banded 9 days ago and since around day 3 I've been having vaginal bleeding. Not alot, but enough to get on your nerves. The kicker is I'm on BCP's-the kind you take for 3 months and then have a period. I haven't missed any pills and SHOULD NOT be having a period right now. Could this be because my body's in shock or something from the surgery? Or because I'm eating (drinking-ugh) only 500-600 calories a day? Anyone else experience this?

Dini- I love Curves! I have been going for over a year and couldn't do without. It's 3x/week, for 1/2 hour. I most def. recommend it. I have no restriction so nothing got stuck. I did chew the olives very very well. Chim- I am sorry about your tummy problems! I have not felt very full, so I can't relate. I can tell you that I went to the bathroom after my olives and that felt good. Sorry TMI. Jackie- I have been eating rock salt ( plain) believe it or not, I crave salt so much. My BP tends to be on the low side so I can never have enough salt. Mango- I have been adding Benefiber to my Crystal Light since pre-op and works wonders for me. Kathy- your kids sound delightful, and you are so obviouly proud of them, and in love with them. They are lucky to have you as a mom!

Hello everyone. I have been reading for the past 45 minutes trying to catch up. Whew we are a busy group. I LOVE IT!!! Went shopping with the kids for school today. Today is our 'tax holiday' in Iowa. We have this every year when it is time to get ready to go back to school. We have 2 days of paying no tax on clothes or shoes so I love taking advantage. We got LOTS of things. I was really excited!!! I bought a couple of bra's that were 1 size small than what I had been wearing. Also found myself some REEBOK ankle and wrist weights and REEBOK resistance bands on clearance. Got a steal of a deal on those. Have to tell you all. I ordered some of those new whey protein bullets/shots. I got them today. When I got home tonight I thought I better drink one because I didn't have even close to enough of my protein today because we were gone and I am still on liquids. Anyway.............HAVE YOU SEEN THEM?!?! LOL I am not normally a gutter minded person but I am telling you when I seen them I had to laugh. Then the DH and my 16 year old came in the house and I was drinking out of this 'test tube'. My husband says' what the hell is that because I sure know what it looks like and him and my daughter start roaring. These things look like some type of sex toy. LOL Sorry if TMI. Anyway get this. My daughter is having her 16 birthday party on the 25th and she says 'please do not drink any of those that day or have them out so someone sees them because I would hate to have someone ask me about them because I know what they would think at first glance'. LOL I was planning on keeping one of these in my purse to have it with me but I can tell you I sure won't be taking it out in public. LOL lynnette- I was in a size 22 when I started this and today I bought a pair of 18. They are tighter than what I would like but I figure 'soon'. HAHA My shirts are getting bigger and a couple pair of my capri are sagging in the butt now. LOVE IT!!!! Dini- I am so sorry for what you are going through. Remeber your priorities.......you and that beautiful little angel. I know you probably feel as though a huge weight has been lifted but eventually the 'grieving' for the lose will come. It is hard to live without someone who you have lived with and shared so much with for so long. Exspecially when you share a child. We are all here for you. Come here anytime you need to vent, rant, rave, cry, or just need company.Take care Dini. You are very special to all of us. BTW you look beautiful in your pictures. auntie phil- scrambled eggs sound wonderful. I can't wait until Monday. I haven't had a 'meal' since July 8. I can't wait!!!! Danny- It is great to hear from a mans point of view. It doesn't sound so bad coming from another man. My DH tells me 'I can't read your mind' or 'you know I love you' when I tell him 'why don't you' or 'I shouldn't have to tell you what I want' LOL. I know what you are saying. My DH is suck a great big cuddley teddy bear and very sentimental but when it comes to words....he is all tongue tied like a freshman in high school asking out a girl on a first date. LOL Sunny, chim, and everyone else I forgot to mention hello and hope you have a wonderful weekend. :biggrin1:

I'm a 7/07 bander and want ask a tmi question from the 7/06 banders Here goes - :nervousHow is #2 for you.. :oHas it changed?? I had water in water out while on liquids - then got mushy last Thursday - had combo diarreah/baby poop - but i have to go often (not just once a day pre-band) and my hemroids (i know tmi) are killing me... I had some one tell me today that their gf who has been banded for a yr now has diarreah (sp) all the time and when she has to go she has to go.. So what's the answer???? Thanks,
-
Dini, so exciting about the dress. You're doing so great, so keep it up. Hope Annarancesca is ok. I had some problems with Hunter yesteday. He's 3 and half and had his first bout of being "clogged up" and was crying yesteday. Had to get immediate help for him, so made a suppository(sorry if this is TMI)but anyway, 2 hours later, he was going. He's not one to ever cry in pain, so I knew he was hurting, we we're both crying in the bathroom. Marcy, I remember when I got my first tattoo, the guy told me the best think you could put on a tattoo is preperation H. He said is has the healing ingredient and an anti-inlammatory in it. So I went to get some at the store, with my ex at the time who was getting his tattoo the next day, and when we were up to the register I looked at my ex and said "Do you think we should get the bigger tube since you'll be getting yours tomorrow" The register clerk looked at me and her mouth dropped. I had to tell her what we were using it for, cause she was in shock thinking I could tell that my ex would need that for the next day!!! It was so funny. So being on liquids or 2 days again after my fill has done me good. I'm down 2 more lbs from Tuesday. Hope it stays off, but who knows. Back to mushys tonight and solids tomorrow,OMG!! I was suprised to get right back on the computer with no problems today. I guess the yahoo messenger was freezing my computer. Now I wonder if I should try to download it again, since before it was downloaded before the new Nortons Security. Maybe downloading after the security is in place will be better. Any ideas would helpful!!

Would you do it again?
kacee replied to TerriDoodle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm a self-pay and it was worth every nickel and dime I paid....and THEN SOME!!! I have ZERO regrets...and I mean ZERO...and I would do it again 10 times over. I am still new, but I am 30 pounds down...to a place I haven't seen in 17 years. There is NO substitute for that feeling. I paid $12,900 in Houston. PB is a "productive burp" (who the hell thought of that term?) which is like a barf without the stomach contractions. When I have PB'd, I just lean over and whatever is stuck in therre kindof rolls out (I know...TMI). You PB when you eat too fast, don't chew enough, and the food gets "stuck". You will KNOW it when it happens! Sliming is the excess salivation that happens when you start producing saliva (and mucus) to digest the food....that's stuck. Instead of it being produced in your tummy, it winds up in your throat, and you generally have to spit it out. It's part of the deal and for me anyway, it's not that big a deal when it happens, but you sure don't ever want to make a habit of it. Bad for your band, and not fun. -
Question (a bit TMI!)
chimboree26 replied to BlooEyez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also agree w/the others about drinking more Water. I know that if I'm not drinking enough, my urine will be a bit darker yellow, but never orange. It's usually pretty light yellow to almost clear (talk about TMI). I've just never seen orange before. That's what made me think it was a med or s'thing. Let us know what the doc says. I'm curious. -
Since returning home from getting banded and being on liquids, my urine hasn't been a yellow, but more of an orange color. Is this due to the weight loss? Anyone know?

LoL KARIK!!!! You crack me up! I know what you mean though... I went back to the gym and I can finally see myself as achieving my goal... I don't know about the whole "love" thing but I'm def in LUST! haha I can't believe how much stuff I did last night at the gym- lifting weights squats (great for the inner thigh..haha) and over 150 situps with weighted balls and bars. I spent and hour and a half and I can really see results now... My arms are FIRMING! YESSSSSSS my thighs are tighter! YESSS and yes my O's are better! TRIPLE YES!!! haha ok hope that wasnt tmi either, but it's SO true. Oh when I missed the gym for 3 days, I got depressed... so uh oh... I can proudly say... I'M ADDICTED TO THE GYM! Finally FREAKING time! ooo I can't wait to go back... I'm itching for it! I also can't wait to see Matt again, but I think I'm not seeing him again til Thursday well, at least I won't be distracted away from the gym ! woohoo! GOOD FIND, BETH!!! I know that must have been frustrating... how did it turn out at the doctor's? Oh and Paulax... I'm also at 3ccs in a 4cc and could get some more if a fill didnt cost me 2500!!!!! I'm waiting til I get back to NYC and join NY Pres... Hospitals Lapband Clinic... its $499 to join it and $199 per fill after that... great office care, and if I have any problems, they know my history! HUGS TO MY JULY BANDSTERS... its the last day of our 1 year bandiversary month!!! Oh and this guy I was seeing last year (just a few times) is getting lapband on Aug 6th so wish him luck!

Hi Y'all. I am back. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. They worked. I am doing great. My stomach feels like I did about 100 sit ups. Sore, sore, sore. No gas pains or shoulder pains. My incisions are all real small. The port incision is left side below the ribs and is 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Went in at 8:30 am yesterday. When they gave me some meds and said they were taking me to OR I don't remember anything til I got to my room. I had absolutely no nausea. They had me on a Demerol drip but I didn't press for extra. Got up and walked 2 times yesterday afternoon and evening. The nurses seemed surprised. Had sips of Water yesterday. They did a xray this morning to check the patency of the band. Boy, that stuff is nasty. Everything looked great so I got clear liquid breakfast.. Walked again this morning. I had to also wait until my doc finished surgery to be discharged. Got out of there about 3 pm. Went to the pharmcy to fill my pain med. Don't really need it but I was afrain I might and not have it. It took me forever to catch up on the messages. I am glad to see everyone is doing well post op. Feels great to be on the Loser's Bench. TMI, I already had a BM today. I think I am going to be on the non-constipated side of the fence.

Aza, congrats on your date! Welcome to our group. This is an awesome group, so feel free to get comfy and jump in. Hey gang. I have been one busy bee. I won't stay still. I've been out and about w/my dad, visiting family. What's up w/that??? I just can't stay still. I've had some Muscle Milk and Water for Breakfast, and cream of broccoli for lunch. I'm still trying to figure out this full/satisfied thing. With time, I'm sure I'll get it. I've been drinking since I woke up. It may be hard for me to get in all the necessary water. I feel so full after a few sips. For dinner, I'll probably have a bit more cream of broccoli Soup. I'm starting to feel a little gassy. Maybe TMI, but I went #2 the day after surgery. Of course, liquids in, liquids out, but I went. I went again today, too. I'm still staying at my parents b/c I just feel more comfortable right now being here. I hope everyone's doing well. I will be back later to check in w/ya'll.

Morning everyone. I feel great! I slept really well, with my "pillow mountain" as my DH calls it. Under my knees, on each side and under my head. Woke up with a little soreness in my abdoman, but nothing really too bad. I took some tylonal last night and this morning, but not the persription meds they gave me (demerol). I hate how that stuff makes me feel, so thought I would just take some tylonal. Ok a bit of TMI comming... I had my first BM just a few minutes ago. I honestly didn't think that would happen for a few days. In the past when I had my gall bladder out, I couldn't for about 4 days. This one came just as normally as it would. So far, so good. I must say thanks to the Dr. as he must have done a great job!!

Hey Leona that is AWESOME! We are the same size now! Too bad we didn't live closer together lol we could borrow each others clothes maybe. I totally TOTALLY agree, the key to this weight loss stuff is exercise, your body changes the fastest even when the pounds aren't coming off. Today I bought thong underwear lol, I feel so sexy lol. Sorry if thats tmi lol. But for me it was a great nsv.

Hi girls - can you believe its actually me online at 9:00 at night! I was on emailing one of the bunco girls. grrrrrr the whole thing has me pissed. I talked with the case manager today for a long while. She seems to think I definitely need a fill. She said if I was too tight I'd be knowing in other ways and so today I was very good - natta for breakfast - then I ate a crab cake for lunch - which I was stuffed when I finished... all the while eating slowly small bites - then I ate some almonds for snack and a BLT for supper - I resisted the running to town to get something to eat - pat pat on my back - I haven't snacked yet tonight although I have some fresh picked blueberries in there calling my name. I suppose I should get on fitday and start tracking again - because I feel like it was a good low cal/protein/healthy day. Thanks for all the encouragement and I know getting on here has really been encouraging me to get my act together. All this talk about men and dating is exciting. Its gotta be fun for all of you now, being thinner and feeling sexier. I know I feel better in bed even though its the same old man I've been boinking for the past 30 years! Geesh I crack myself up! Always giving way tmi! But you all have to be loving all the attention! While we were on vacation - in the flatlands of Minnesota - I thought of all you bike riders EVERY day! I would so love to be bike riding like that but I seriously - SERIOUSLY - couldn't do it around here with the hills.. er.. MOUNTAINS.. and speaking of exercise, ok I didnt' do any today but I thought about it, and planned on going for a walk before dark but ended up gabbing on the phone for an hour and then my ds stopped by and now its dark. BUT I'm going to go set my alarm and get my butt up and out the door in the morning before work. OUCH!! Who just kicked my ass!!! love yens!

Maybe it is TMI but seriously can I just find an effing happy medium between painfully constipated and damn near shitting my pants?

I am so glad tomorrow is Thursday...I took Friday off. My DS will have my DD for the weekend, so its momma time!! I am running over to the casino to have ome FUN! My DH hung a lip, but he is working and I am not sitting here and not doing anything! he will just have to get glad in the same pants he got mad in. For those who can't have a BM...I found something that works (for me anyway). Drink some crystal light then about 30 minutes later drink some slimfast. That stuff does not mix and within 30 minutes it will be bathroom time....and I mean make sure you are near one! OK, TMI i know...:rolleyes Terri-I nearly pee pee'd on myself with the WWJD comment. Sad part, is I knew where you going with that before you actually said it...LOL Everyone have a spectacular evening! -

Hi everyone. just getting in from work, early night. been catching up. Looks like everyone is having a nice relaxing day Ann - welcome, glad you were finally able to log on Terry - that does not look good. so...... I need some serious help - I know this is going to be TMI but I am actually very worried..... first = thursday night I worked the ovens and I started to get a pain in my port area, like i pulled it a bit. working the ovens involves the actual cooking of pizzas, from a small round to a 24 cut and they are heavy and lots of reaching, lifting and bending. so I was worried but I have been taking it kind of easy to heal and not as much pain... now you all know I have bathroom issues, I'm drinking tea as I type. Well, I have blood in my stool. I don't know if it is because I have not gone to the bathroom in 5 days and this has been a horrible cycle since surgery... or if I could have done some serious damage? What should I do...??? I know the tea might not be the best thing... but it breaks it all up and gets it out and I want to know how serious this is or if it is just from being so clogged up. help... -

hi again, ok, so for starters - I think the sourkraut (sp) that I've been eating for the last 2 days is working! YIPEE (i know TMI) Second - I have lost 38.5lbs since 4/16 and 58.5 total since January 8, 2007. I hope to be holding the 40lb mark strong by the 16th - my 3 month badiversary. I don't know about a meeting place - as we think of places lets just throw them out there and put some thought into it.? -

Tracy... that's exactly what it is... "wonderment at early risers"! & here's your cheering for today: "Go Tracy! Go Tracy! You can do it! You can do it! Hello 230s! No Count Chocula! Yay Tracy!" Terry... I don't know why I write that... "I'm going now..." "I'm back!"... like anyone is keeping track! ha ha ha! Jenn... Well, after much huffing & puffing (it never used to be so difficult) (sorry if TMI!!!) I can cross THAT off my list for today. Phew! Good luck! I'm in Maryland... will plane, train, or auto anywhere... any time (pretty much)... just give me some time to make arrangements & save up some dough! Vegas? A spa (I love Ariz for spas!)? A cruise? Just daydreaming about a trip is nice!
