    Before and after pictures please!

Thank you, everyone! Y'all are too kind! My surgery was 2.28.13 - My skin has done well for the most part. TMI but my breast seem to have deflated but they needed work before surgery so fret not. Toning exercises are really important, no one could stress that to me enough!

  3. I am just wondering if anyone had to do a bowel prep prior to surgery? I am supposed to drink Magnesium Citrate which is basically a liquid laxative. Sorry for TMI, I am just wondering if anyone else had to do the same thing.

    QUESTION for moms.. FUNNY

A 'Weenkie' in fact, still do and he's 15...LOL, my son still holds on to it...In fact, I asked him yesterday what he has done that he wouldn't want me knowing about (because we were having a laid back conversation and he was confessing that he used to play with fire when I was at work!!!!!) and he said, ummm...besides masturbating all the time!!! LOL he's a joker, but that was TMI
  5. I'm 2wkb post op..... How much is too much? I know it's normal but it seems like everything I put in my mouth including water just.....well has me going right away. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Hey Biggie, Welcome to the forum. The first 5 days, I was convinced that I had made a mistake. I hurt (gall bladder came out, too), I felt like a balloon, and I was scared to drink too much. I had a real turn-around at day 8, and I've felt great ever since. Gas-X, lots of walking, and I don't measure my Water. I drink to keep my urine clear or very pale. Probably TMI, but it works for me.

  8. Fallon I don't think I have told him how much better our sex will be but I will do that tonight we have good sex now but I am limited to what I can and want to do tmi I know but I want to be able to give him the best and here lately I don't even want to have sex cause.I'm thinking of what I look like and what he thinks of me he says he thinks.I'm sexy but I don't and he just don't understand that
  9. So I read that after surgery people take a few days before having any bowel movement, so I was wondering if it was better to clean your colon before surgery. Sorry if it is TMI but I do think it is a good question. During my liquid diet I had here and there some constipation (I know with high Protein diet it is often a risk nothing to be worried about). I had some days that I did not poop at all. Some it was a couple of days accumulation. I know I was supposed to eat veggies but the Protein Shake fills me. So anyways if it better to use some enema before the actual surgery? I know I would feel better if my bowel were empty and I don't seem to find this specific info.

    Depression/Anxiety and Maintenance

I hear you all on this! I've been big/fat ALL my life even though I was really active. I was a nurse until I got breast cancer then my 18 year marriage ended, got back on track, worked mental health and then something less stressful, a Phlebotomist. Then 2.5 years ago I was forced into retirement at 48 with a broken back and neck due to some F@@k wit running into me! I met a man in that time, married and thought life was perfect. Oh, I had the band put in to help with weight loss for my back. Now, I find I am SO depressed. Nothing I do seems right, I'm in constant pain with my back and neck, I've just had shoulder surgery also re the accident, yes I'm on anti-depressants, but no matter what I do I can't shake this cloud, plus, I'd really love to have an orgasm... Nothing's working... Sorry, TMI

    2/6/2012 Sleevers Check In!

This is totally TMI- but who needs a liquid preop diet when you can just come down with a horrible case of the stomach flu??? I weigh 9lbs less today than I did at this exact same time yesterday. Just trying to get Water to stay in is hard work! It's making not cheating exceptionally easy!! Who knew I'd actually appreciate being sick??

    Someone help!!

Thanks Sue. I am kind of worried now. I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis and let me tell you this pain was worse than the UC pain. I am glad it is gone now. The only thing that would make the pain go away was me bending over. I do think it was a gallbladder attack. I must say that my diet is mostly meat. I need to add veggies and fruit. I do not want to have my gallbladder removed. Maybe making some adjustments do my diet will help? Also, my BM have not been frequent. For someone who has UC I don't have BMs often. Sometimes they amount to nothing. I know this is TMI. I will call my doctor in the morning and let him know whats up. I also think I visit with my nutritionist is in order.
  13. I've been very happy with being sleeved. I've lost 81 lbs since December 28th. I did have some problems with getting lightheaded...I think it was a consequence of my blood pressure going down. I hated the protein shakes, but I know that's just me. The only other bad thing that I've had going on is that I've had diarrhea since the surgery. I know that is probably TMI, but it's probably been the biggest problem I've had. I suspect this isn't normal at all and just a problem that I personally have. I've been referred to a GI doctor. That being said, I don't regret anything! Good luck!!!!

    constipation?

Ok this is TMI but I feel so gross that maybe some one here will understand. I am on vacation right now so I haven't been drinking Water as consistently and I left my fiber pills at home. Well I hadn't gone in three days and I felt like Rocks were sitting in my stomach. Boy was I right. I just had the most painful BM and there was lots of bleeding. It was so much backed up and so hard I can't keep going like this. I don't want to get hemorrhoids . Before surgery I was very regular and now it's a pain in my ass, literally. Ok I will try you suggestions. Thanks. Sorry for the details.
  15. I will I weigh in on Thursdays. I fully expect to still be a slow loser even with weight watchers but I'm confident that this may be what I was missing all along on my journey. I haven't told my leader about wls and don't plan to. She seems very open minded but I don't think it's any of their business. I do plan on signing up for the "monthly pass" since I'm basically paying the same with the week to week or pay as you go plan. Since I lost almost 3 pounds my first week, I'm not expecting a big loss this week and wouldn't be surprised if I maintained. Also it's that TOM :/ (sorry TMI) but I've still counted every point and haven't gone over my weekly points.

    Possible Problem ~ Question

What's wrong with me i had my surgery on the 14th and although i have not eaten much, Protein shakes , broth and liqueds i have made a couple mistakes with Peanut Butter and half a cookie but iam back on track but what worried me is sorry for TMI but i have not pooped since the day before my surgery!!!!!!! it has been 9 days my doctors said it is normal but that was the after-care doctor waiting to speak to my surgeon! IS THIS NORMAL SHOULD I BE WORRIED? i have taken a laxative and need to buy a stool softne anyone can comment on this, would be greatly appreciated!
  17. twice I had a near impaction, at the risk of TMI here I had to use KY Jelly and was sore for 2 wks after, this was on liquids too which surprised me, I now drink miralax once a week and my Dr. told me to increase my Water, have you thought about Fiber gummies?
  18. I second the comment about constipation. I mean, doc told me that I could get constipated, but I'd never had that happen to me, so I just thought it meant having a little trouble going. TMI ALERT: I didn't realize that I'd ultimately end up for over an hour and a half on the toilet, exhausted, crying, and bleeding, and still unable to get the poop that was part way out all the way out. This happened twice. And I didn't learn until later that my doc would have liked me to go to the hospital when that happened. Nor did I realize that "getting it under control" still means that it takes me at least 20 mn to go.

    RNY November 2017

Lol Not sure if your asking specifically me that question, but yes I am post op, 5 days. Feeling weak but still manageable. I am running a low grade fever. Going to see my GP tomorrow. Otherwise I work each day getting all my fluids. TMI: exploding diarrhea on 4 day post op. It was 6 day before having an actual BM. Felt better afterwards. Walking has been a challenge, it's very cold out, and with my fever, I just shiver. Sent from my Nexus 5 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hiccups

I frequently get hiccups, though they've calmed a bit as I get more used to the band. Sometimes they are very loud and strong hiccups, and sometimes they're tiny. I don't get them with every meal, though if I do get them, I might feel a little stuck...at the same time, I don't hiccup when I'm badly stuck. I almost never burp anymore, and when I do, they're tiny and I have to force it out. I really thought I was the only one because my surgeon's office hasn't heard of any patients having hiccups, and my local "band buddy" doesn't get them. Another (possible TMI) side effect I have is that when I'm stuck, my bowels want to move. The whole band lifestyle is pretty funny when you think about it!
  21. OMG this is TMI, but I have had the WORST problem...I am 9 days post-op, and I have been having the most obnoxious, smelly, LOUD gas! It is soooo embarrassing. I have had problems with bloody bowel movements a few days post-op, but now I have pure water diarrhea and this horrible gas-not a good combo!! Has anyone else had this problem? I'm pretty sure it's not gas from the surgery now, just of my own making. Please tell me that this goes away...my daughter called me poopy pants earlier today, and I deserved it! HELP!
  22. Maybe a little TMI, but I finally realized that my miserable fullness was because I had to go potty and couldn't. Got some laxatives and I already feel so much better! Whew! I was getting a little nervous about feeling so icky!

    Pain ?

hey guys i was done on the 26th as well. for me it has been a rough 5 days. My surgeon called me yesterday to see how i was doing, well needless to say, i broke down and balled like a baby....(so embarrasing) I told him that i have had a low grade fever since monday, headaches, weak, "accidental diarrhea", (not cool, now i am housebound), and very very nauseated. He told me i am feeling most of this as i had a reaction to the anesthetic. Which i told them i would, they had to pump me up with meds when i was coming to. The doc took me off the antibiotics, told me to get atleast 1.4 ltrs of liquids in, and take phenegren suppositories 2xs day for 3-4 days to help stop the nausea. This should help me get my liquids in. I found it hard to even put Water to my mouth. He also said that the diarrhea is normal as i am only taking in liquids. I wish someone would have told me this before, as i had to throw away a new pair of jammies:faint: Sorry if tmi....but i dont recall reading this before my surgery. My poor husband is frustrated. He told me today that if i dont start feeling better soon he wants them to take this thing outta me.....poor guy, he hates to see me so weak and lethargic. I told him that things will change soon once i can get onto full liquids....lord that cant come soon enough huh guys? Anyhow, enough of the rambling.....stay intouch okay.....we can help each other thru this new adventure. Hugs, Debbie

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Hello my little October sleevers! How is everyone doing this gloomy, freezing day? My day is strange. Slept in this morning for starters. When I was laying in bed I started having some discomfort in my tummy - upper abdomen below chest. When I moved it would go away. After I got up, I was still having it a little bit. Now it's gone away for the most part but I have some shoulder pressure and a little discomfort in my back. (Some also at my lower ribs, but I had that from time to time before surgery - I think it's the way I'm sitting because moving around helps it go away.) Not sure if it's a result of being more gassy today, not having a BM for a few days (TMI!!) despite having some ground turkey/hamburger the last few nights for dinner or hitting the treadmill a little harder last night. Ugh! Eating and drinking fine though, so..... Keep on plugging on I guess. What are you all eating for meals these days?
  25. I spent this week thinking "wth did I do to myself?" I have been in pain, from incisions, gas, throat, and back. When one cleared up a little, the others hit with a vengence. BUT... Tuesday was surgery, and today is Saturday. I am better, can move better with just a little soreness, and not crying at every step or turn. This might be TMI, but try to get the gas out the back end. You shouldn't be able to burp yet, and it needs to get out to make you feel better.
