Lch8 replied to AFmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NSVs: -clothes fit a lot looser -my body doesn't ache when I get out of bed in the morning -I feel more confident already I need to work on eating slower! I love this thread too! -
GRRR, I keep trying to re-size this so it's not all ginormous! Anyways, my photo NSV is the fact that I even let people take my pic now. This is the sexiest pic I have since you can see my bra (I think I had one too many cosmopolitans this weekend!)

Hey...I consider this to be a NSV picture because I would have never had the "hootspa" to take a picture like this ever before. Some of you may find it a bit toooo much, but in my opinion you dont see more here than you would at a beach.

And I believe you will be happy with what you see. You have done two very important NSV (non scale victories) and they are I've trouble with myself. For me the better balancing of my food plate wasn't too difficult, my strange acting stomach rather hold me back I'm eating smaller portions , I feel overfilled with 1/2 to 2/3 the sized portions I used to eat, I wanted to eat enough I wouldn't be hungry until, the next meal, now strangely I'm eating less but I don't have the knawing hunger I used to have. Illogical but I'll accept it. My bigger failing of the 2, I would(in the former days) eat extremely mindlessly in front of the TV, suddenly a whole box of Cheezits, I preferred the white cheddar ones, or an entire bag of Lays potato chips was gone. Did I share either one with someone else? Nope they had gone down the pink tnnel to my gut.. Did I feel overfilled or at least full? Nope. Now I eat slowly enough that I can taste each bite, and I'm trying to chew instead of bolting things right down. When I look back,I ate like I had a dozen brothers and sisters trying to take my food away if I didn't swallow faster. Shoot, I'm an only child and I acted that way. No too proud to admit it. Another bad habit, in an argument I would heap extra blame on myself, thought that way the other person would like me more, would still want to be my friend. Strange but it never worked, people didn't respect,me a whit more. Ah, Darlin' I'm still learning me Life Lessons. Rationlized it "Hey I'm gonna be a great person when this is done" well I was great all along, I just couldn't see it. So have a fine day and I'll try to do the same. A new thought I'm holding on to Every new day is a gift, that's why it's called the present. Smiles😜

Congratulations on your success and for all of those sweet NSVs! You look amazing - and more importantly - it sounds like you FEEL amazing! -
Kim, I suggest burping and farting a lot. *laughs* ow ow *evil grin* Seriously though, if I had to face going to work on Monday morning I'd be in a panic. I see these folks that went shopping within three days and I think "What a wus I am!" But DeLara's words keep rining in my ears. Everyone's different. My doc told me to try Milk of Magnesia, which I got today and will try tonight. On top of the gas pains, I haven't had a bowel movement since the day before surgery. I'm thinking constipation will be worse than gas. *chews nails* (not a pretty subject, but all's fair here right?) Speaking of "touchy" subjects, my husband says that since the women on here talk about their sagging boobs (kneepads someone called them) and other more personal things, he wondered if the men talked about equally private nsv. *laughs* I won't go into details. I'm in a "mood" and need to behave myself. *laughs more* Anyway, many grats Kim! *links arms with you and Kennedy927* Here we go.. and! Did you see that? Candice has lost 50 pounds in three months! WooHoo! I'm so excited! Hmm.. I wonder if she's doing so well because she loves to shop? Maybe WalMart has some benifits afterall? hehe

Please tell me if your nose gets smaller after weight loss surgery?
F_it replied to bellabill's topic in Rants & Raves
This has got to be one of the most adorable NSVs out there if its true lol. Ive been squishing my face reading the thread and wondering if part of it might have to do with how chubbier cheeks would stretch or push against nostrils depending on the facial features... But those nostrils are funny little things lol, and i can imagine when we were heavier they had to do a little more work huffing and puffing and flaring to catch us some breath! Poor little noses lol -

Non scale victories are just as good, if not better, than the weight loss pounds. This is a journey and we are not in a race. Just keep eating your protein, getting in your water and the loss will follow. I am one pound away from 60 pounds but I have lots of NSV that I experience everyday that keep me going. -
Calling all March 05 bandsters!
Parvathi replied to Madeline's mom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well done, ladies!! Everyone's doing sooooo fantastic - March bandsters rock hehe Crystal, remember .. that's 30lbs less than you were this time last year. That's also 10 months consecutively, in which you have NOT gained weight - you've lost. That's definitely an achievement! Go back and look through your NSV's - you are a success! -

no scale movement for me since early July, but I have had 18 NSVs... Today I am back to school, and I fit into the desks so well my tummy doesn't even touch the table! No squishing into the desks! -

Hi Christine, welcome to LBT.You and I were banded on the same date, and you've lost more than I have. I've lost 9 pounds since May. Some of us are just slower than the others. It is so very, very important to NOT compair your results with other's. I know it's hard becaue by nature, poeople are competative, and compairisons help us guage where we are and how we are doing. The band does not work as well if you do not have proper restriction, and the only way to get this is to get your fills when you need them. Good luck on finding someone else to work with! Okay, I've had 51 NSVs since I was banded. Haven't lost a big whack of weight, but I'm healthier than I have been in years, and I feel strongr than I have in a long time too. So, that's my progress. -

I actually had a new nsv yesterday. My husband had surgery yesterday and while he was in surgery, I ran down to the cafeteria to grab a bite to eat. I took my food to go and was sitting in the waiting room eating. About half-way through my meal I realized that I had the styrofoam container sitting in my lap while I was eating. Ummm...OMG!! I have a lap...an actual lap that I can sit stuff on now and use. It didn't hit me until that point. I have never been able to hold something on my lap b/c my belly has always been too big. I must have looked like a dork b/c I sat there staring at my styrofoam box in my lap like it was an alien. Someone walked by and asked me if I was okay...I just smile and said yes. Crazy!! I also went to Old Navy the other day and bought a new pair of pants...in the normal size section...size 14!!! Coming from a 22/24 size pants, I was thrilled. It has been 9 years since I could wear a 14. LOVE my band!

1. Being able to cross my legs without leaning way to the side. 2. Going from a size 22/24 to size 16. 3. Shoes fitting better (yes...I am losing weight in my feet). 4. My daughter can put her arms all the way around me and touch her hands when she hugs me...I cried when she did this b/c she was so happy too! She thinks it's fun to show this to everyone now too! 5. I can run and play with my daughter. 6. People at work are noticing my weightloss. 7. Putting on a size 14 pair of shorts that I wore when I was pregnant with my daughter...little tight but I got 'em on. First time in 9 years! 8. I got into my PROM DRESS!!! OMG!! This happened last week...just on a whim I put it on and it fit! I thought I was going to die. 9. Taking a picture of myself where I actually think I am sorta pretty. This is a great thread and until now, I hadn't actually written down my nsv's. Very motivating!!

Way to go fellow Marchie!!! I love NSV almost as much as seeing the scale move downwards!!
-
Congrats on all these wonderful NSVs!!!! Mine is pretty typical, but I was thrilled nonetheless... I had purchased a skirt online over 2 years ago. Sadly, when I got it, it was waaaayyyy too tight, couldn't even barely get it over my hips. Well, this weekend I was cleaning out my closet, throwing away clothes that were now outdated or too big . Anyway, found the skirt, tried it on for kicks - I just knew it would still be too tight because I have been steadily gaining since I bought it - but it fit!! And it was a comfortable fit too!!! Love my band!!!

My recent NSV was moving into a size 32, now I'm almost a size 30

Here's a good NSV -- for ME anyhow! I'm not exercising today. BUT -- it's because I'm TOO BUSY and not because I DON'T WANT TO!!! I'm actually MISSING the gym on days I can't go! How wild is THAT!
-
By far and away, my biggest NSV was my first run. This year's Mothers Day Classic. I ran 4.5km in 28.35 minutes!! The euphoria I felt crossing the finish line was incredible! I felt like I could take on the world and win. I can't help but smile when I think back.
