JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Yasman replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Diridon, thank you for posting this link... wow i never knew that about the colors. I thought I was drinking enough, but I'm not usually at the top color. tmi= i'm usually the 2nd or third color which indicates i should be drinking even more than i already am. doesn't seem possible, but i'll work at it. today was my 2nd post op visit, where I asked the doc about my stall - I lost 21 pounds right away and have been stuck at 23 pounds lost for the last 4 of the 5 weeks since my surgery. He asked me about my exercise and i told him and he then proceeded to poopoo me and said a. you are only 5 weeks out you shouldn't be looking at things that way at this point and b. as long as i continue with a good exercise regimen the pounds will shed off of me and to not worry about this at all. (nota bene: my ticker is going by my highest weight on record, which is why it says 33 lbs lost. the doctor/official number is 10 lbs less than that because they are using a weight from a preop office visit that's lower than my highest recorded weight.) which is good, but then i look at everyone on here that are 4-5 weeks out and I'm seeing 30+, 40+, 50+ and sometimes even as much as 69 pounds lost in a month since surgery and I can't help but compare myself to that. Which I think I need not to do. that said, it's hard. I love reading everyone's posts here and i'm glad to be a part of this july sleever's forum. thanks for being here guys. -
i have not been diagnosed with pcos, but i have not been to a real gyno in years. i show many symptoms. thanks for sharing about the diabetic thing. thankfully he can get hard and he does often, sometimes it just takes more to get it there (my not even be related to sugar..it's probably in his head (pun intended)). sometimes i want him to be physically attracted to me and not have to work for although i know that he isn't. he loves me and he thinks that i am beautiful, but it affect the raw attraction aspect of it. you know what i mean...??? he on the other hand is fit..and honestly..and i'm not being mean in any way..but i have never been attracted to heavier men..it just isn't there for me. and no matter how "thick" i have gotten my men have always been cut. if he were as obese as i am, i would need help getting "wet" too. i need help now, but it's not because of his looks, sometimes i just have a hard time getting my mind to shut off. i didn't think you were laughing at me. you are hilarious. i love your posts. i bet you will be so glad when you get to see your husband. i live in jacksonville, arkansas and there is a base here. i believe there may be another in arkansas, but it is the main one. it is air force. anyways, most of the people that live here are military, so i know what you are talking about. i also work at a mortgage company and about 90% of our loans are military so i talk to a lot of seperated spouses. oh..and toys..i love them. well..i say i do, but i do not have a running collection and i tend not to go toward anything that penetrates. i know..i know tmi. but if all i ever had to use was a toy i would die. dh has gotten me some for b-days and stuff and he lets incorporate them (on myself---unless it is a sleeve or something)..but the weight kind of affects that too..sometimes it is too hard to reach areas that need to be contacted because my gut is in the way, or my arms are just too short...or you get the point. SOOO..losing weight will help with that for sure. then i can just incorporate my toys whenever i want. dh doesn't mind, as long as i enjoy it. plus i tend to let him get away with more (i have a pain during sex) when i do incorporate because it helps relax muscles, and he can be as rough as he wants. ahahahahaha..i'm literally going to jump him tonight. oh and funny thing..i used to not be able to treat him orally very often because of my neck...ooo when i went to the chiro for the very first time..i wouldn't stay away from him...i was "bobbin" all day..ahahahahah

Of course, on a TMI note I should also add that I just finished my cycle a couple days ago. In hindsight, that might have added to my Water retention. -

Oh, also want to add this part of their pre-op: 14 Days Prior to Surgery Do not smoke. Follow Pre-Op Diet below: Use any premixed canned or powdered protein drink that contains at least 15 grams of protein. You may purchase these in any health food store or many grocery stores. Wal-Mart EAS pre mix is excellent for pre op but BIO CHEM is great powder for after surgery. Breakfast: 1 protein drink Lunch: 1 protein drink Dinner: Salad with Protein 6 oz for women…8 oz for men (chicken, fish, egg, etc.), small amount of low-fat or fat-free dressing, or olive oil and vinegar. Evening Snack: 1 protein drink (if needed). You may also take 1 Metamucil capsule per day for hunger (if needed). I bought some store brand Metamucil and take it with my lunch and a bottle of water. I don't know if it is all in my mind...but it does help with hunger (for me!). I know it has psyllium husk in it, which expands in your stomach making you feel fuller. Probably TMI (or not), but I thought Metamucil would make me need to use the bathroom alot...it does not- which is good! I tried the EAS drinks...they are OK, too. For some reason, the GNC Lean 25's keep me fuller than Premeir Protein (30g of protein). I have no idea how that works, but I will roll with it. Good luck! WE GOT THIS! -
Applesmith, There is something your doc can give you to make it stop, if you really want it too. Unfortunately, heavy periods come along with PCOS. The longer you don't she your lining, the more there is to shed. I used to only get my periods about 1-2 times a year. This means that I would bleed for about 40 days at a time!! I know, TMI, but its true!!!

Acid reflux AFTER Gastric bypass?
ReadingMochaMom4 replied to Christina.Rose's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm sorry that you are having this issue. My SIL has the sleeve, and she has had horrible issues with reflux. She never had it before even with her 3 pregnancies. Before my surgery I had untreated Gerd for 9 years, they discovered it during the waiting period and put me on pepcid. It changed my life! He even went in and had to repair a 2 or 3cm intrusion in my stomach BEFORE doing my RNY. Well everything went great for 6 months, the GERD didn't return- but the loud, explosive (TMI) belching did. So I went back on pepcid and I take it daily. I have heard that RNY has helped several people but for me, it has reduced the acid greatly but NOT eliminated it completely. Good luck Sent from my SM-G975U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
AEdoesRnY replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What dosage of milk of magnesia did you all try out? Sorry for TMI, but I’m day three of post-op and am very blocked up, feeling like I need to BM pretty bad but not able to get anything going. The recommended dose is 2tbsp with a full glass of Water, but I’m only drinking 1oz every fifteen minutes...I’m curious what you all tried and what worked for you...not sure whether fill 2tbsp is too much or if just doing the 1tbsp is not enough? -
Anyone having surgery in Oct ?
SleeveandRNYchica replied to Jenaenae84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be released from the hospital today. Yesterday was a bit rough. Today I am feeling much better. I have been walking and sipping. It is hard because I am just not interested in anything right now They were unsure how long my surgery would be since I am a revision patient. They said I did not have a lot of scar tissue. My doctor said I would be more sore than normal because they used some of the same entry points. As I was typing I passed GAS! I know tmi! I had a hard time going pee and was dehydrated yesterday. They fixed all that. I didn't eat much for my first meal yesterday and so they left the other stuff if I wanted to eat it. That did not happen. -

Tattoos & Piercings
shrinkingDEE replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have no tattoos. But I have 9 piercings. After surgery I managed to put all my jewelry back on except my VCH. Almost two weeks out and I haven't been able to bend over enough to try to put it in (sorry if it's TMI). I guess once I'm healed I'll try and if no luck I'll have to get it re-done. Boo hoo! -
Sept 2011 bandsters
bromo replied to WannaBeSlimNow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can see a change in my face as well. Not quite as round as it was. I am down about 23 pounds since the beginning of my preop diet, Sept 1. That is a lot of weight to lose in one month!! I am having all kinds of NSVs. Back in jeans for the first time in forever. I had refused to buy any larger AGAIN after ridding myself of the 24s and above the last time I lost it. So I just had to wait to get back in my 22s that I outgrew this time last year. My shirts that were tight are beginning to get a bit too lose as well. I love this part of losing weight. Also, I am finding it easier to shower and can reach parts of myself that had needed assistance. I may just retire the back brush in a few more pounds. that may be TMI, but it is a real NSV in my book. -
Libra, I agree, call your doc. Mine said if I was at all nauseous to call and he'd get me some meds to help. You only just had your band put in and even dry heaving is not good for it. Give him a call and explain what's going on. I got a hold of my doc this morning and he's calling in a different pain med for me. The loratab is doing nothing, I was so uncomfortable all night I barely slept. I'm not doing too bad today, the liquid Tylenol is doing it's job, but I want to be able to take something stronger at night so I don't hurt so much when I sleep. Hopefully this new stuff works. Still got an annoyingly gurgly/grumbly tummy and passing gas like crazy. Can I ask a tmi question to our early August banders though? How long before you had a bowel movement after the surgery? I'm trying to figure out if that might be part of my problem and if I should maybe take a stool softener or something to get it moving along.
-
Thank you for all of your posts. I think they are all great, especially the ones that you think you are giving TMI. It's that information that the doctors don't give you details about so it's nice to hear what to expect. I'm getting very nervous!!!

Got my surgery Date - December bandster
LuckyGirl replied to beversman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Gang, I too will be part of the December club. I will have it done on the 19th. Things are moving so fast. I just got approved yesterday and have to start fasting next tuesday the 5th! The fasting is not as bad as i thought. Lean meat, veggies, fruits and Protein shakes. Only 600-800 calories a day but at least it will be small amounts of real food and not straight shakes for 2 weeks which is what I thought "fasting" meant... I don't know what I'm going to tell people. Do all of you tell everyone that asks or do you just tell some and not others? I kind of wanted to wait to make sure everything goes well before I tell co-workers and other non family/close friends what is going on. Some guy I worked with said he stays trim by taking the stairs and being disciplined. I thought if he asked I would tell him that I had started taking the stairs - and its working:)! Is there somewhere on this site that people have shared their experiences in the hospital. I've heard bits and pieces but I am curious as to each step... is that TMI? -
TMI- Frequent Bowel Movement
ChubRub replied to DallasRicky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There's no TMI around here! We talk about poop a lot! LOL!!! -
So happy to hear the good news Lila! Being in your own home, surrounded by loved ones, sleeping in your own bed, you are going to heal wonderfully with all this positive around you! As everyone has said, entirely normal, you will probably be more intune with your body than most after all u have been through. So it will guide you, don't worry. I think u are doing really well- maybe tmi, but I was usually guided by the colour of my pee! Lol. As long as it was light to clear I wasn't going to stress too much about exactly how much I have taken in- at least for the first couple of weeks anyway. Now i am able to have liquids so easily that drinking 2-3 liters isnt a problem. I found going for a light walk felt really good for the soul during this time too. xx

Morning everyone, I have a question for you all. I'm sorry if this is TMI but I need to know if anymore else has had this problem. I've been having BM troubles in that I've been having really bad cramping and then having to run to the loo and have nothing happen. This goes on for hours everyday and then I finally go to the loo. Well today I had to go home from work as the cramping is making me want to throw up and my tummy is bloated, but I have been able to go to the loo. For the last few months I've had to take Benefibre everyday just so that I have some kind of BM. But in the last week or so I've not been taking it because of the mentioned problem. So what I wanted to know is, has anyone else had this and should I just speak to my surgeon (I get to see him after 6 months next month) My GP as said that the cramps my be just my period but that isn't due for another 2 weeks. Any ideas would be great. Cheers Bec

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
bigmammaof3 replied to Lavea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi everyone, I have read all the posts since beginning and lissa you are such an inspiration. You have such a beautiful soul and are always positive. I had my surgery on 4th march and no real problems here. Tmi moment ... I am constipated all the time and dietician says to take laxatives every four days. I'm sure I'll be ok once I can eat fruit and veggies. I have lost 18 kilos since preop so I'm now 112kg. I still have only told 5 people and I might tell more closer to goal. I'm thinking 70 kgs which feels like it would be impossible. Good wishes to all the preop people and everyone post xxxx -
Anyone having surgery in May
angelface811 replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ironic that some of the last few posts were on constipation. I was just hospitalized for major impaction. I was in tears and shaking like crazy. So now in addition to the liquid stool softener I have been taking we are adding miralax twice per day, Metamucil, and lactulose. It's very difficult at this stage (puréed) to get much fiber. I am an excellent water drinker and was well hydrated going into the hospital. I was given 3 enemas (joy) and the lower portion of things have been evacuated but the upper portion is making its way down. Some of these things will be temporary and I was told I have a lazy bowel. Stopped my pain meds altogether even with that burning left side pain. I have also been pretty active. But hey! It was my choice to have the surgery and I absolutely don't regret it. This was a possible complication but a minor one. I share this with you just in thought that it might help someone else. My ahem! hurts like never before but it could've been something way worse. We will get through all of this!! Sorry about the TMI... -
Ok tmi time. Have you been #2? Is that darker than usual as well? I read the earlier part of post and someone asked about your swallow test - you said you failed - what do you mean you failed? They couldn't see it go through but you did go home so we're you able to retake it?

On Thanksgiving, when I got on the scale, I was half-pound short of my 50 lb goal. I was thrilled. On Thanksgiving, I ate a LITTLE of everything. Took a 15 minute break over the main course to PB from the turkey. TMI. Fortunately, I sent the leftover dessert home with a friend, but have been eating leftover ever since, and have had turkey a couple of times since, with disastrous results each time. Tonight I spent over 1.5 hrs sliming. The dogs enjoyed the rest of the turkey. I learned my lesson. I put on 3.5 lbs since Thanksgiving. Hoping its Water weight, and plan to start exercising again tomorrow to get it off quick.

I will give those of you who doesn't have to do a bowel prep sine advice!! DO IT ANYWAY!! I didn't have one and even though I was on a pre op liquid diet I should have did one even though my doctor didn't require one. TMI I came home from surgery sore weak etc. Just to have 2 days later having to go potty but couldn't because of impacted bowels as the pain meds causes constipation and it was miserable!!!

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log
DeezJeanz replied to RunningA5K's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
TMI WARNING: I wanted to let those of u who supported me and lifted my spirits yesterday thru that gain, I took some m.o.m b4 bed bc the left side of my back has been hurting as well as having hard small stools. The m.o.m worked a lot this morning. So my side immediately stopped hurting and the scale said 207.2!! So to u all, make sure that if the stools are not solid but small pellets or is too hard, it may b a culprit to stalls n gains as well. Tho I was using the restroom, they were not"normal" or frequent. So again ty and keep checks on those bathroom visits. God bless and tya again.
