    Overdue FUN THREAD!!!

slouching around the house in a too big for me tank top that is a part of the matching pj set that i was too lazy to put the bottoms on no bra the puppies are playing freely in the yard panties are size 9 Hanes Her Way french cut white cotton panties.... getting ready to go senoir sitting today...As opposed to baby sitting...so I will be showered and dressed in white cotton bra and a fresh pair of HRW cotton french cut panties...gotta love those multi packs of panties... BF says with as thin as the material is for ladies undies he doesn't understand why we bother with them...I would feel (and BE) literately naked with out them is what I tell him... here is an odd ball NSV I tried on BF's udnerwear and HIS were too big for me... OMG!!! THough I was going to wear them all day just cause I could fit into them... FYI I have never worn another person's underwear before in my life and I was laughing so hard at my self for even trying his on that I almost fell into his dresser while putting them on. LOL
  2. Unfortunately, yes. Its as if I am not invisible anymore. More people look and smile more. Whereas before I felt as if I was kind of ignored. Now part of that probably has to do with the fact that I have a different attitude but still. One thing that irritates me is that a man almost always holds a door open for me now. I know its a nice gesture and it is not his fault men didn't do that before but its a reminder of where I came from and there sooo is a world of beautiful overweight people that out there that deserve that kindness too. The clothes part has had a strange twist I didn't see coming. I gravitate back to the plus size section every time. I am (or was) comfortable there. But its not where I belong anymore. Yet when I go to the regular sizes I feel like I don't belong there either. Its a work in progress. Funny NSV (non scale victory): that I had to adjust the seat in the car because since my bum shrunk, I was sitting lower in the seat. Losts of little things you never thought could be affected that are. Its very fun. Size wise I am a comfortable 14 with a few 12s. My personal goal is to be comfortable in a size 10. I think its doable.

Tami: I knew you were talking about a fill soon. I was too. I got mine Tuesday. I am not at all overfilled. I forgot to ask him exactly how much he added, but I do not have the wild cravings that I was having. Since the fill I've been doing much better. It hasn't kept me from eating anything though, that I've tried. So don't be afraid. Be sure to tell them of your fears. I did and I think that's why I am not overfilled. Good luck! I hope it helps take care of those crazy cravings! You're doing so well! Congratulations on your fantastic NSVs!

I had a wild weekend in Kalamazoo MI visiting with old friends and over endulged in food and spirits (I think I am still hung over!) but managed to squeek out 2lbs, I am sure it will all catch up with me next week. I am going to post this pic as an NSV, I would NEVER have done this pre-band no matter how much I had to drink...
  6. . So Zizi is right - the larger the size, the larger the range it will accommodate. Generally, in the double digit regular sizes it is 20 pounds = one size. I think in the Woman's sizes it is a wider range. Also - how is your body shaped? Can you go down in a size on top, but not bottom, or vice versa. And also - focus on other NSV's (non-scale victories) for now. You are doing amazing!

How often do you weigh in?

I weigh myself every Friday morning--the weekly anniversary of my surgery and at special milestones like month anniversaries. I was getting obsessed, weighing everyday, multiple times a day. I am not a big NSV girl. I need to see numbers go down to stay motivated. But I am slowly getting control of the compulsion.

    November fitness challenge

I did absolutely nothing in terms of exercise yesterday and probably won't today. My body hurt yesterday (not just achy) in new and interesting ways so me thinks it needs a couple solid rest days. Has anyone ever got a burning pain sensation in their bicep before? Felt like a tetanus shot. Today, after a good night of sleep, I am feeling better and only a little sore in abs, upper back, arms and legs. I hope to be back at it tomorrow. Another NSV after Fridays workout of serious core work (see above), I can see my abs this morning in the mirror. That is a first. Not a six pack, but more like a 2 pack. there is hope!!

    How to be Successful?

All well said by everyone. I've nothing to add other than to say - @@MarceMonster - You're headed in the right direction so keep on moving forward. Remember to Celebrate any and all non-scale victories (NSVs), i.e. inches lost, a smaller size slack/jacket/shorts, lessening of shortness of breath when exercising/walking/hiking, etc.

Sandy: I have had that happen quite a few times, I cannot eat anything solid in the morning because I fear *that* pain. a PB is when food actually comes back up usually coupled with mucous nastiness. If you only have chest pain but nothing comes back up it is just 'stuck' and the pain will subside once the stuck food moves it's way through the stoma. It is a horrible experience! If this is your first experience with this it is probably just a little swollen in the morning coupled with not chewing well enough. Or it could be your band dislikes whatever you were eating, I get that sometimes too, even when I know I need a fill. Does anyone have any NSV's this week? My house is chaotic right now after the blizzard, a little bit of cabin fever is driving everyone crazy. Today I decided to get away and go to the mall to window shop just to get away from the madness. My usual stops are Torrid and Lane Bryant. I went into Lane Bryant and tried a couple things on - all miles to big. Right next door is Express - a store I have often admired but never shop there because I'm far to big. For whatever reason I actually entered the store, looked around and gathered some items to try on. Biggest size they have in Pants is a 12 and shirt is a tiny XL. In the dressing room I about hit the floor, I got into a size 12 dress pants! They were a tiny bit snug in the waist but hips and butt all fit great and so $70 later I own a pair of over priced pants; So much for window shopping. I don't even know if I'll wear them but they say 12 so I absolutly had to have them.

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

I struggle with what I see in the mirror a lot. Some days I feel huge, other days I pat myself on the back. It's very tricky, isn't it? To me, it's clear that you have lost a TON of weight. You are also very curvy. It may be a case of your eyes being drawn to some parts of your body and not others... Or looking at yourself in a vanity mirror versus a full-length one. My eyes never see the same "me" twice. The funny thing is that when I was 50 pounds heavier, I played the same games with myself. In the mirror I saw reasonably passable me some days, and "hippo" on other days. I just don't know what to make of it any more! You and I are the same size and wearing the same size pants, but I'm not nearly as curvy as you, so my butt looks flatter and my waist thicker. A few inches of height can make a huge difference as well, or where you carry your weight. Focus on the positive changes you see in your life. Check out this post: http://www.rnytalk.com/topic/9953-how-about-some-nsvs/ It keeps me motivated by not just looking at the numbers on the scales. And hang in there! We're all here with you!

MimIn: Congratulations! We are the same weight and I'm buying some 14's, but depending on the brand some can be tight. I'm trying to think of a NSV.... Let's see... People are telling me that I look a lot younger. I guess that is a NSV!

    Successful Band Stories here!

2 years ago I was 27 year old Mother of 2 who weighed 264 pounds and wore a size 20 pant. I couldn’t play with my kids outside of video games. I got winded just walking to the mailbox. I had aches all over my back stayed out all the time placing me in bed a month at a time. I took pills for my pain until it became an everyday thing. Before I was obese I never took pills even gave birth twice all natural. I was ashamed of my body and that caused sexual non-existence for my marriage. Which caused relationship friction between my husband and I. I was very depressed all of the time, and had suicidal thoughts. I researched WLS for over a year, scared of being cut. When I found the band I knew it was going to be the thing that saved my life. I made the calls and made the apt. Approved in 30 days. The day of my surgery I was a total blank for the 3 hour ride to the hospital once there and I had my IV I started to freak out! Scared am I doing the right thing etc all the normal pre surgery jitters. My healing went well, 4 days after surgery I was back to riding my bike 2 miles a day. The first 3 days were HELL for me though. I slept a lot and bending for the pot hurt like all heck. The first year I sailed thru~ no issues~ no pains~ very smooth. In my 2nd year I’ve had two overly tight fills. No biggie they just unfilled me. ya, it sucks but once I was non swollen and better I got another fill and moved on. August will be my complete 2nd year banded and I would do it over again in a heartbeat! I truly believe the band saved my life, and my relationship with my family. We now go camping, roller skating, school functions, swimming, you name it if it’s outside no matter how many people I don’t even think twice about it! I turn 29 on May 31st this year I now weigh 75 pounds less and wear a size 12-14. Even my shoe size got smaller! That surprised me!! I dance, in public even! I wear things that make me feel sexy, I feel like a woman again and have had minimum depression issues (can’t say I have none that would be a lie, it runs in my family) I go in tomorrow for another fill, then I head for FL on next Tues. where I will go to Disney world and not have to wonder if I will fit in the ride carts! I have to say that fitting into a roller coaster seat to ride with my family was one of the biggest NSV’s I’ve had! Hugs to all~ Nana~

    Twenties NSVs

I love it, I got 3 awesome NSV's this past week: 1.) I went home to Vegas to visit family and my brother and his wife (who don't know I'm banded) both said I look awesome and like I've lost a lot of weight immediately when they saw me... and I believe they meant it because they kept mentioning it. 2.) My size 50 belt that I usually wear doesn't fit anymore. I had to punch a new hole into the belt for it to fit. 3.) I got home from my trip and my wife said '(I) looked so hot when (I) walked through the door' and then raped me...twice...wait that's probably TMI.

Well this is a minor Nsv but nonetheless I was excited. I hardly go out to eat anymore but decided to go out with my friend the other day. She chose the olive garden and I was bummed because I never could fit in the chairs, and I spent the whole time feeling like everyone knew it. Well the other night I went anyway and I actually fit in the chair and comfortably. I could sit and enjoy my time and it was one of those moments where you think this is why I did this. Keep up the good work guys!

I had a great NSV over the weekend. A friend of my got me a gift care to Aeropostale. The first thing that went through my mind was this gift card is going to go to my husband because there is no way i am going to fit anything in that store. Well i decided to go on line to check out their stuff. I found a few things that i liked so i decided order i figured they would fit after i lost a few more pounds ( i was told that the xl fitt like a med). So they arrived over the weekend. I decided to see how they would fit and how much i would need to lose ( i orders and xl and 15/16 pant). Well they fit like the were made for me. My friend wheres a large from this place and i think she is very thin so for me to fit into a xl from here was such a suprise. I have been fitting into a size 16 and xl top from other places but never thought i would fit into cloths from here until i got thiner.

It has been forever since I have been on here! I am so happy for all of you that are still continuing to melt away! I have lost 47 pounds and am soooo excited to hit that 5-0 mark! Some of my recent NSV's are: 1.) Airplane ride to Santa Barbara... NO problem sitting in the seats! I even had a little extra room! 2.) I bought my first pair of Seven jeans... size 14! Suuuuper excited! I was up to a size 20 b4 surgery! 3.) I no longer wear an XL just a L and let me tell you I lovvve every second of it! 4.) The guy I'm dating was like "WOW, you've lost a lot of weight!" 5.) I went shopping in this little boutique called Divaz and totally fit into their L size dresses.... again very excited bc I use to never be able to shop in those boutiques. 6.) Being called "Tiny," "Skinny Minny," "Little."

My mind is free of Lane Bryant! My newest NSV, among many (they've become innumerable), is that my sense of style has changed. Or should I say evolved? IDK. I have always been a great dresser...no modesty where that's concerned:cool2:...BUT I find myself gravitating towards different styles now. Variety! Variety! Variety! Its like Im learning to dress all over again! Fabulous! Kid+Candy Store=ME!

I can't wait to experience all the things you guys have. So far my NSVs are: -I have a collar bone! -Clothes that were tight are fitting now. -I have to wear belts more often with my pants. -My boyfriend says that I feel smaller when he hugs me. -Sex is easier. -I don't have much trouble anymore putting on my socks and shoes... but I don't know if that has as much to do with my weight as it does my bad back getting better from physical therapy. o.o -I can do the beginning step class at the gym. Never in a million years did I think I could have done that! I think there may be a few more, but I can't think of them at the moment. This is an awesome topic! All this stuff I forget about that is just as important if not more than just weighing less.

I had a great NSV this morning, I was getting ready for work and decided that my pants are getting very baggy so I tried on a pair of pants I haven't been able to fit into in about a year and they fit great, I am so happy cuz they were pretty pricey, I am so happy I get to enjoy them now. I also enjoy my tummy not rubbing up again the stearing wheel when I drive
