Silly is good with me. As big as my middle was, it must've taken a lot of energy for me to ignore the way it got inbetween me and the washing machine, my car's steering wheel, the kitchen counter, you name it. I also somehow managed to ignore the high tide mark of dropped and dribbled food grunge on my clothes. I think I'd rather have 10 silly little NSV's than 1 big one. Not saying I'd refuse 1 big one, but the little ones sure make me appreciate my new and improved quality of life. Whoever would've thought that weight loss would improve your relationship with your washing machine?! -
NSV are the sweetest I say !!! congrats

Yes, it is normal. As you lose weight, the fat padding around your stomach shrinks and your band naturally becomes looser. That is why it takes ongoing management for the band to work as an effective tool. Some would even call it an NSV (non-scale victory) to have your band become looser because you have lost weight! -
Commited to eating right August 2012. Sleeved November 2012. Lost 100 lbs as of this morning since August 2012. I am so geeked! Also, I had a NSV this afternoon...had to show my ID and the clerk didnt reconize me by my license pic.....She said "is this you" I said "really" she said "is this you?" I whispered " as of this morn, I have lost 100 lbs, can you really tell?" She said "oh my, this doesnt even look like you" So all in all today was a wonderful day! I love my sleeve, love the lifestyle, I dont feel deprived AT ALL! Why didnt I do this years ago............................ DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!

DeAnna, great job making it one week. And good going on the NSV's. Those are always exciting. My NSV for yesterday was that I had not been able to have my Protein shake in the morning so I told myself that I would have it for dinner. Well, I have a class on sunday evenings and we take turns bringing in Snacks to eat. The girl whose turn it was had brought in a crockpot of chili with all of the trimmings. cheese, onion, fritos and more. I actually sat there and let everyone else eat and I drank my Water. I was so proud of myself. So as we were moving into another section of the building I was bringing up the rear end with another lady and our teacher and I was telling them about not eating so I could have my Protein Shake when I got home, and I told them how hard it was because it all smelt so good. Get this, both of them at the same time said I did the right thing because it didn't taste that good. So glad I held my ground. Finally got home and had my banana and Peanut Butter protein shake. It never tasted so good. Now to make it thru another day. This truly is a day to day thing. I'll worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. And no more excuses or trying to fool myself thinking I can do or eat something and think I can explain it off. -

It is good to be reminded of my non scale victories, NSV's, search for that forum & you might get excited. I go back and forth on "seeing how good I look". Sometimes I am amazed at my shrinking size but I still look horrible at my thighs when I sit down. I have recently remembered, my thighs have always been my "trouble spot". I had literally forgot since it has been 30 years since I have been this weight. So I have said to myself that I am going to start loving my body parts regardless, or flat out love life, be happy regardless of my thighs. I even mantra, I am grateful to have my two legs at all. I take it as far as thinking about a situation where a person went to an airs how w/ both legs, a plane crashed and the person left with one leg. I know I sound like a nut but any way I can get it in my thick skull that I am a like able, fun person with more value than my looks, I am progressing. -

Hi Gang, So, I had to hop on a plane yesterday to attend a conference in New Orleans. This is my first flight post-op. Guess what? NO EXTENDER NEEDED!!! This is where the heavens open up and angels sing, because not only in addition to being big, I am tall and due to my weight, I have not been able to sit in the exit rows for many years. Now I can again - yay! Flying will no longer be as uncomfortable. Also, the shorts I wore on the plane were 44" - last December when we flew I wore a 52". My jacket/vest is an XL and it zips up! Wow, that's a lot of exciting stuff!!!!

Whew, I made it through my first week back to work...now that's an NSV as far as I'm concerned. By 1pm on Wednesday I wasn't sure I'd make it and was trying to decide if anyone would notice if I curled up the bench in my cubicle and tapped out for a bit, lol....but I persevered with the help of a friend texting me and reminding me to sip, walk, and sip some more-even when she got the flu and could barely eat or drink herself. I love the friends we make here! Encouragement is such a great thing. I also did well with my protein and food intake by being well prepared and following some other suggestions from fellow "losers". Didn't see a big loss but I'll take my -1/2lb and be happy with it cause my attitude was much improved as well as how I felt in general. Thanks everyone for helping me make it through this week with a smile and a grateful heart. (My boss and co-workers thank you too, lol!) Have a wonderful, active, and healthy weekend! -
