    I said "No Way"!

WHOOP! WHOOP! You had me grinning ear-to-ear with this post! GREAT job on your hard work and reaching this amazing NSV! I understand the effort, time and patience it takes to get this point, and I am super proud of you. CONGRATS!!!

    I said "No Way"!

You're my inspiration! I just got excited as if this was my own personal NSV!!! I'm so happy for you!
  3. Sleeved on the 13th and doing great. Like Karen74 I was losing a couple pounds a day up front but that has slowed as I expected it would. I'm still losing although slower which is fine for me. I know i'm dropping weight and that's what's important. I didn't gain 2lbs a day so I don't expect to keep up that pace in losing it. Between pre-op and post op I'm down 46lbs which is a ton more than I could have done on my own in this period of time. I'm seeing plenty of NSV's and couldn't be happier.

    Drastic weight fluctuation?

Fantastic. Some folk here talk about “non-scale-victories” -NSVs - I reckon this is the best sign things are going well! Congrats.

    Coffee?

#hashTag# as "we" on the board always/should say - all docs are different check/ask your doc or NUT - they will tell you if/when you can have coffee - maybe decaf for me, i was allowed coffee at 2 months there have been other threads discussing issues of coffee not trying to get rid of you but go to the search area on top of your screen, and put in the word coffee when i am out and about i enjoy going through the drive through and grabbing a refill and my small NSV i never ask for a donut, and i'm ok with that no profile/ticker hint, hint so i can't tell what stage you are in "sounds" like you are still pre-op...........or maybe very early PO??? so,,, either good luck with WLS - speedy recovery, or keep up the good work!!! or i'll just say - continued good luck with life kathy

    Scales?

JamieLogical- love the second picture on your link where the person is standing on the scale and pressing a button! ROFL! (If I could get off the floor by myself, that is!). I think one of my NSV's would be doing what that picture shows!! ????????

    I hate skinny Beotchs

Ladies, I get where you all are coming from, I am very new to this site. I've been stalking it for a couple of weeks, and just officially joined today... I too get annoyed when someone who weighs 120lbs complains to me about getting fat. It almost feels like they are trying to say hey I think I'm fat and I'm nowhere near YOUR size. But, that's a personal issue I'm sure. It's all about perspective I guess... But, dang it, I just can't wait til I can cross my legs and have an ACTUAL lap for my grandkids to sit in! To feel good in my own body for the first time in my adult life! I'm looking forward to all of those NSVs I keep hearing about, in some ways even more than the actual weight loss! I love this forum and look forward to getting to know you all.

    Feeling discoraged july sleever

Today was "Weigh-In Wednesday" (that's what I call my weekly weigh in) and, just like clockwork, 3 WEEK STALL!!! Literally exact same weight as last week (344.2). I planned for this so I am going to do measurements and photos later to remind myself of the NSVs, but man, it really is disheartening. I know it will pass, but it's the first break in momentum post surgery, so it's a little bit of a reality check. I a, so thankful this board is here to have warned me about it!! I would probably be losing my MIND right now if I wasn't prepared!!!

    January Exercise Challenge

I really like this new look. Anyways I have to share my fabulous news. After being down about the fact that I couldn't see/feel a difference after losing weight, I finally found something. I joined a gym today and it seriously is the best thing I have ever done for myself, besides the band. I did 2 miles on the treadmill, BUT I RAN 1.25 OF THOSE MILES! Now it wasn't all continuous, but I did run .5 straight. Then I did another 1 mile on the eliptical. So here are my HUGE NSV's. 1. I ran .5 miles straight for the FIRST time in my life. 2. I wasn't the fatest girl at the gym:thumbup: 3. I didn't feel like I was dying 10 minutes into my workout. 4. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK TOMORROW:Dancing_biggrin: Well after an hour at the gym I need to go get some work done.

Has anyone had any NSV's the last week? I had a few.... I flew to Atlanta last week and found I actually fit in a plane seat with room to spare and I can pull the seatbelt tight across my lap without extending it as far as it will go and see it rather than it hide under my belly! My lane bryant size 14 dress pants and jeans are hanging off my arse and while in atlanta I decided to go shopping (lane bryant 14 is a 'normal' size 16). I bought size 14 dress pants and a pair of levi's in the misses section and a couple large shirts from the juniors of macy's I hven't done that since I was probably 12. Last night my dog took off like a rocket and I ran full sprint after him clear across the community by the time I caught him I was several blocks from home and was hardly winded. Curious how far I had gone I later took the car out to measure and it was 1.1 miles (my dog sucks!). I have never been able to run more than 1/4 mile without feeling the onset of death. It's the little things that make it all worth it!

Karey, you're right. Keep plugging away...it will pay off eventually! I am a firm believer in weight training with a cardio program. It's worked for me before (until I quit doing it ) I am down 3 pounds from last week to 195. I haven't seen this weight in years. Actually squeeeeeeezed into a pair of 16W in the store today. I bought them! Trying them on encourages me when the scales aren't showing any loss......ooooh. Another NSV!!!! Hurray for EVERYONE!!! This group and challenge keeps me in check. Thanks y'all!

Hi all! I just wanted to share a NSV....the 1.3 miles I thought I ran the other day? Well I drove in my car and measured it out (I'm compulsive that way) and it was actually 1.5! Whoo hoo! I have set a goal to run in a 5k race this summer in may with my sister (the half-marathoner  ) She is a delightful and supportive person. Of course I will not plan to race anyone but myself. How blessed I am to consider even doing such a thing! Amazing.

    Overdue FUN THREAD!!!

slouching around the house in a too big for me tank top that is a part of the matching pj set that i was too lazy to put the bottoms on no bra the puppies are playing freely in the yard panties are size 9 Hanes Her Way french cut white cotton panties.... getting ready to go senoir sitting today...As opposed to baby sitting...so I will be showered and dressed in white cotton bra and a fresh pair of HRW cotton french cut panties...gotta love those multi packs of panties... BF says with as thin as the material is for ladies undies he doesn't understand why we bother with them...I would feel (and BE) literately naked with out them is what I tell him... here is an odd ball NSV I tried on BF's udnerwear and HIS were too big for me... OMG!!! THough I was going to wear them all day just cause I could fit into them... FYI I have never worn another person's underwear before in my life and I was laughing so hard at my self for even trying his on that I almost fell into his dresser while putting them on. LOL
  16. Unfortunately, yes. Its as if I am not invisible anymore. More people look and smile more. Whereas before I felt as if I was kind of ignored. Now part of that probably has to do with the fact that I have a different attitude but still. One thing that irritates me is that a man almost always holds a door open for me now. I know its a nice gesture and it is not his fault men didn't do that before but its a reminder of where I came from and there sooo is a world of beautiful overweight people that out there that deserve that kindness too. The clothes part has had a strange twist I didn't see coming. I gravitate back to the plus size section every time. I am (or was) comfortable there. But its not where I belong anymore. Yet when I go to the regular sizes I feel like I don't belong there either. Its a work in progress. Funny NSV (non scale victory): that I had to adjust the seat in the car because since my bum shrunk, I was sitting lower in the seat. Losts of little things you never thought could be affected that are. Its very fun. Size wise I am a comfortable 14 with a few 12s. My personal goal is to be comfortable in a size 10. I think its doable.

Tami: I knew you were talking about a fill soon. I was too. I got mine Tuesday. I am not at all overfilled. I forgot to ask him exactly how much he added, but I do not have the wild cravings that I was having. Since the fill I've been doing much better. It hasn't kept me from eating anything though, that I've tried. So don't be afraid. Be sure to tell them of your fears. I did and I think that's why I am not overfilled. Good luck! I hope it helps take care of those crazy cravings! You're doing so well! Congratulations on your fantastic NSVs!

I had a wild weekend in Kalamazoo MI visiting with old friends and over endulged in food and spirits (I think I am still hung over!) but managed to squeek out 2lbs, I am sure it will all catch up with me next week. I am going to post this pic as an NSV, I would NEVER have done this pre-band no matter how much I had to drink...
  20. . So Zizi is right - the larger the size, the larger the range it will accommodate. Generally, in the double digit regular sizes it is 20 pounds = one size. I think in the Woman's sizes it is a wider range. Also - how is your body shaped? Can you go down in a size on top, but not bottom, or vice versa. And also - focus on other NSV's (non-scale victories) for now. You are doing amazing!

How often do you weigh in?

I weigh myself every Friday morning--the weekly anniversary of my surgery and at special milestones like month anniversaries. I was getting obsessed, weighing everyday, multiple times a day. I am not a big NSV girl. I need to see numbers go down to stay motivated. But I am slowly getting control of the compulsion.

    November fitness challenge

I did absolutely nothing in terms of exercise yesterday and probably won't today. My body hurt yesterday (not just achy) in new and interesting ways so me thinks it needs a couple solid rest days. Has anyone ever got a burning pain sensation in their bicep before? Felt like a tetanus shot. Today, after a good night of sleep, I am feeling better and only a little sore in abs, upper back, arms and legs. I hope to be back at it tomorrow. Another NSV after Fridays workout of serious core work (see above), I can see my abs this morning in the mirror. That is a first. Not a six pack, but more like a 2 pack. there is hope!!

    How to be Successful?

All well said by everyone. I've nothing to add other than to say - @@MarceMonster - You're headed in the right direction so keep on moving forward. Remember to Celebrate any and all non-scale victories (NSVs), i.e. inches lost, a smaller size slack/jacket/shorts, lessening of shortness of breath when exercising/walking/hiking, etc.

Sandy: I have had that happen quite a few times, I cannot eat anything solid in the morning because I fear *that* pain. a PB is when food actually comes back up usually coupled with mucous nastiness. If you only have chest pain but nothing comes back up it is just 'stuck' and the pain will subside once the stuck food moves it's way through the stoma. It is a horrible experience! If this is your first experience with this it is probably just a little swollen in the morning coupled with not chewing well enough. Or it could be your band dislikes whatever you were eating, I get that sometimes too, even when I know I need a fill. Does anyone have any NSV's this week? My house is chaotic right now after the blizzard, a little bit of cabin fever is driving everyone crazy. Today I decided to get away and go to the mall to window shop just to get away from the madness. My usual stops are Torrid and Lane Bryant. I went into Lane Bryant and tried a couple things on - all miles to big. Right next door is Express - a store I have often admired but never shop there because I'm far to big. For whatever reason I actually entered the store, looked around and gathered some items to try on. Biggest size they have in Pants is a 12 and shirt is a tiny XL. In the dressing room I about hit the floor, I got into a size 12 dress pants! They were a tiny bit snug in the waist but hips and butt all fit great and so $70 later I own a pair of over priced pants; So much for window shopping. I don't even know if I'll wear them but they say 12 so I absolutly had to have them.
