Bandster hell? NSV? Green Zone? I'm not in Oz anymore!
leannel90 replied to flrosie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Love that chart...I've been wondering the same thing. I love the term NSV too! -
Congrats on your NSV's! You have done great and there's a ton more to come. It sadens me that your boyfriend is so insecure and scared that he can't compliment you to give you the support you deserve! He's acting like a boy, not a man.....It's time to sit him down and have a talk with him about his nonsupportive behavior....This is the time to let that confident woman out and ask for what you need from him, if he can't give it to you, then maybe it's time to reconsider your future with him bc it will just get worst....... Smile you are so beautiful and deserving of nothing but love from all the people around you.....

All of the above. To more explain NSV- it is when you accomplish something that was impossible before loss of weight through banding!IE: fitting into smaller size, not having to have extension on seatbelts, being able to tie your own shoes, painting your own toe nails, get the idea! Best wishes to you and all newbees! Karen, 3 1/2 years! -

I've been reading the posts on these forums for about a week, since I found this place. I am hopeful the veterans will be able to help us newbies figure out some things. What is bandster hell? When you stall...
Spirit Fire replied to maharet111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just tell them I'm at a plateau and will start losing again when the plateau breaks. I know some successful people who stalled for 2-3 weeks while other successful people had 9-month plateaus. It is different for everyone. For me, from the very beginning, I've been up-front and honest with myself and others. I've been on a very slow crawl ever since September, but seem to have NSVs often so my body is changing and the way people see me is changing even when the scale doesn't reflect these changes. -
6 month honeymoon is over now what?
libbylou4u replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was 9/6/12. Down 77 so far and loving my sleeve. No real issues but still on some meds for diabetes (even tho doc says I can stop my a1c was 5.0!) More energy and today I got up off the floor without touching anything! NSV! I hope we both continue to do well. I plan to be at goal by one year surgiversary! God bless, liz -

This is definitely a success!!! I'm still trying to deal with eating when it's tone to feed the kids and when I'm actually hungry. Great NSV!! -
I agree with the poster who said to find the NSVs. The scale hasn't moved in days for me. It sucks. However, I've had 3 NSV this past week! Today, I went back to work and had two people ask me if I had lost weight, which is related to my second NSV. When I looked in the mirror today, I did a double take! My double chin is rapidly disappearing, it's the reason everyone is noticing my weight loss, it's all in my face (yeah, I wish it was my butt and gut but I'll take it!). Finally, hubby got on the scale on Monday and I weight less than him!! Yeah me! Find your NSVs, they are there!

January 2013 Sleevers?
wolfpacker replied to LenaVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had another NSV this morning. I have been weighing on the Wii Fit plus scale to keep track of my progress and my goals. Well this morning my BMI went below 35 and I did not max out the obese chart on the Wii. What a good feeling. I was sleeved 1/9. Highest weight 12/26 302, surgery weight 282, weight this morning 244. Feeling great. I think making sure you get your protein and water and making it to the gym at least 5 times a week is the secret. Even my wife is losing and she did not have the surgery. This was the best decision I ever made. Another sidebar-- my daughter is getting married 6/15/2013. I told my wife I would be at my weight that I was when we got married ( june 7 1980) of 210 lbs and asked her if she would be at her marrying weight. She game me the evil eye and said I was cheating!!! -
FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
StephRenae2508 replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Minnie - You're not alone!!!! I had lost 21 lbs by my 9th day out and my scale didn't budge for over a week. I am finally moving again after about 9 days of no loss. I think our bodies just need to catch up to the changes. Keep following your diet and walking everyday, it WILL pay off. Also, look at those Non-Scale-Victories (NSV) like how your clothes look, fit and feel. Congrats and don't lose hope. Try to keep things in perspective and don't let that evil little scale derail you. YOU GOT THIS!!!! -

Well, I just had surgery a week ago but I've already had one NSV. I got in my car to go drive around and noticed my seat belt was a little looser. I almost maxed it out prior to surgery and now there is a little wiggle room!

Hi Y'all! My poor husband kids are just rolling their eyes at me lately. I guess from their point of view it is silly, but to me it is Huge! I have Collarbones! I have Knees! I can get in and out of my shower door with out scraping myself through the small door! My Triple Chin is GONE! My wedding ring Falls Off! Okay, so the last one makes me nervous, I don't want to loose my ring, but, HELLO!!!! I am so excited with these new Non Scale Victories! I am really looking forward to this summer when we can go as a family to an amusement park and I can FIT on the rides! I haven't ridden any rides for almost 20 years because I couldn't fit. I am ready for this! Life is Great!!! What are your NSV's?

Super happy-today I put my boots on and I didn't have to tug them together to zip them up, and once they were zipped they weren't stretched at the sides! Finally, my wide calves are getting smaller. Whoohoo for NSV's!!
