    LEATHA'S latest NSV :)

How pretty! My husband wants a fish pond in our back yard but I'm the one who'll end up taking care of it. Or feeling guilty about NOT taking care of it. I'm a realist, I barely take care of the yard as it is - no frills. Congratulations on your fabulous NSV!

Good Morning Chica Bonita's and Ira.. I have been very very busy here at work and at Home but have taken the time to lurk. First of all {{{HUGS}}} and well wishes to Betty and her Family. My Prayers and thoughts are with you... Darcy ~ Whew what a relief for you that you did not have a vet visit. My Tequila has Epilepsy. He does not have alot of episodes but when he does I wrap him up in a towel and give him drops of milk. Believe or not ~ got that from my husbands side of the family. To tell you the truth I do not know if it is the milk or me sitting there rubbing his head calming him down till it passes that works? That is also scary on the med mix up. God forbid had you taken it.. I just picked up my prescriptions on Tuesday and they over charged me. And no matter what I said they said nope that is the price you pay. I called my Ins and talked to them then called the pharmacy and lo and behold they did overcharge me. Betty / Cindy ~ There is always next year...At least the Mav's made the finals. I always tell the to my Brothers about the Bronco's and then I duck. Cindy ~ Sounds like you had a good outcome at your appt. Hopefully one day they can get those nasty Migrains under control. Sherry ~ That girl needs to be reprimanded if not fired that is just plain Lazy. I have to reconicle every month and though I do it with Qty, if I am even off 10 I am looking for it. I need to know for my sake that it is a rounding issue and not a me thing. Working in AP at one point that would have been a big NO NO. What a great NSV with your License!! Beanie ~ So fun to be in the Big Apple and meet the other chica's.. I envy you but not the working part.. Mummm Italian food my favorite.. So did you have a Hang over??? Don't envy that part either. Pat ~ that grandbaby is so cute ~ just want to kiss those sweet cheeks.. I love your pool it looks so inviting. Seems those boys are just relaxing. Great NSV on the shorts. Eileenie ~ How is work today with no Boss? Mine is not here as of yet. I love the picture ~ you are beautiful and so is your DD. Patty ~ Have you heard anything else? Hope everything is getting better your way. Donna ~ What a handsome young man you have there. God Bless Him and all that serve our Country. Dianne ~ How did it go on your last night for Choir??? I cannot even hold a note or worse yet I cannot even clap to a beat. I am the one who is always clapping out of turn. Waiting to see those Pics.. Where is Kat??? Is she on a break??? Sending warm thoughts that everything is going good for her and her hubby. Sorry if I missed anyone ~ going off memory here at that is not a sure thing. Not much happening in my neck of the woods. EX has agreed to sign off on the house so we did not have to go to mediation and it looks like we will not have another court appearance. My Lawyer is going to send the paperwork and Ex has agreed to all the terms now he just needs to sign and we are done. Whew finally ~ actually he has been acting like a different man ~ could it be his new girlfreind?? Good for him is all I can say ~ keeps him distracted and out of my hair. Kids are great and we all go to the Childrens Rodeo tomorrow. No they are not in anything we are all spectators. Then the Rides start at 4pm and we will be back for that. And of course the Concert. Cannot wait ~ so excited. Well chica's better get back to work or best start. Been here way to long.. OK ~ I just came from the Picture thread.. Those that posted your after or now Pics need to update your aviators. You are all Beautiful and your then aviator does not do you justice..

    Total frustration

First, get off the damn scale. I know that sounds rough, but a scale can be an inaccurate measure of success. Those scales are not the be-all, end-all to weight loss, just an occasional barometer to know how things are going. I weigh maybe once per month. Twice if I just want to do a mid-month progress check. A good poop or two and you'll be fine! I speak from experience :bananajump: Now, that being said, you are doing great! One day at a time, chew chew chew, get your Vitamins, and make sure that Protein gets down! Look for those NSVs (non-scale victories) to bolster your changes. You'll be fine!

    I need a hug

It helps me to remember how much I weighed this time last year and what NSVs I have had even only 9 weeks after surgery. Then, imagine how I will feel the same time next year! If it gets slow, I just tell myself it's giving my skin time to adapt and hopefully shrink. Also, maybe it will hinder the inevitable hair loss... ? At least, that's what I tell myself~ Chin up!

    Big bosomed friends

Lol ... That's not something I'll be looking forward to as a NSV.

Hit goal today! (Loose skin pics)

Congratulations! You look great! What has been the biggest benefit so far? Favorite "go to" meal or snack? Best NSV?

    Nothing to wear

My first really big NSV. I have nothing nice to wear to church tomorrow because it is all too BIG. I usually spend an hour every holiday crying because everything is so tight and looks terrible and now I am going to spend an hour crying because I am so damn happy and I cannot believe it.
  13. Journey, it sounds like you are doing everything the doctors told me to do after surgery. Don't forget that you had MAJOR surgery and it takes sometime for your body to recover from that sort of trauma and you are in healing mode. The weight will come off, just be patient... I know it's hard but, just stick to your doctor's plan and you'll see changes. Did you take measurements before surgery so you can compare at 1 month post-op, I didn't see much weight during my 1st month post-op but lost over 10 inches and it made for a great NSV.
  14. Well, this is embarrassing to admit, but for the past 2 years I've had to sit down to pee. At some point my gut and the fat pooch above my junk got too big and it was a real hassle (and messy) to use the urinals. So it was just easier and cleaner to sit on the toilet. So it was a happy surprise when I realized yesterday that I could use the urinals again. My job requires a dress shirt. I hated having to drop trou, tuck my shirt tale back in, and fight with my belt every time I went to the bathroom. Now I can go back to hosing down the back of the urinal and destroying the cigarette butts at the bottom. :-P P.S. They must think guys are pretty dumb around here. I saw a sign above the urinal that read, "Please don't eat the big white mint!"
  15. I'm two weeks out from surgery today and I have lost 18lbs since surgery, 43 since the start of my preop liquid diet. I am pretty large so you can't tell much, but today I bit the bullet and joined a gym. I realized that this journey is for me and I'm going to make the most of my tool. I didn't care about what others might have thought about me or that I was sweating my butt off just walking on the treadmill, it was just about me pushing myself to be better. I'd say that is a great victory for me!
  16. I was honored to be invited to be the matron of honor in my friends wedding. I was pre-op when she asked me and actually I was nervous about it because I didn't have insurance approval yet and I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. Well I had the surgery and 2 weeks later we went to look at dresses. I tried a size 16 and it would only zipper about 1/2 way, knowing I would be losing weight I bought a 14. I am pleased to say that it fit relatively comfortably tonight, I am so beyond excited. I have 8 weeks to the wedding and I'm hoping it will need some alterations but I won't be greedy! This is the best feeling I have had in a very long time

    What was your breaking point?

I went thru a divorce and lost 75 pounds. Still heavy at 180 but felt awesome. Told myself I would never put that weight back on. Fast forward, remarried, happy, and the weight slowly crept back on. My breaking point was not when I could no longer wear my beautiful wedding and engagement rings, but when after over a year of not wearing them, my wonderful husband wanted to get them resized for me for Christmas. That was it. I was 230 pounds. I am now 220 and on preop liquids for surgery on 3/28 and doing something so I can lose it and never put it back on again. My first NSV is to put my rings back on!!!!!

    What was your breaking point?

So excited for you to reach your first nsv! I'm sure it will be here before you know it!
  19. Hot hot hot! You are looking good! And those NSV's - the best part. I love fitting comfortably into an airplane seat - it feels like a miracle every time. Congrats on all of your successes, and how great to see such change in 5 months!

    Small Mental Victory

That's fabulous! I too am a scalaholic.(Confession time) I will try also to only get on the scales on Monday morning as I belong to the holiday challenge and need to record my weight for the week. I think you belong to it as well. Anyway, I do think that's a major NSV!!!! It's certainly a huge accomplishment and means you're on well on your way to 'skinnydom". I wish you the best and hope I can follow your example!!! You go girl!!!! Cindy

    NSV!

That is not a small NSV but a huge victory. SMILE You must have been so smug. I am just off my second leg of a business trip off a commuter airplane and no longer spill into the other seat. I love my sleeve.

  25. We are in Florida at the moment. Enjoying the wonderful weather. We were sight seeing and happened upon a very small boutique. In my experience I can never buy anything in these store but I like to look. I noticed this beautiful white summer dress and fell in love. It only came upto XL. Owner said we have a small dressing room. Oh why not. It fit like a dream. So cute. Here I am a 66 year old grandmother buying a cute white dress at a boutique. Who would have ever figured??????
