I am 6 weeks post op as of yesterday. I had gastric sleeve. I have been unable to keep food down and have been vomiting. I am taking medication for acid reflux and something to help my stomach empty the acid.
I keep having this white foamy stuff come up. I am taking medication for nausea and drinking coconut water.
I am ready to feel normal.

On vacation for two weeks since yesterday. The weather? Ok, let's not talk about the weather... ☔️

I am a week post op and I honestly feel like crap! I keep feeling so nauseous and I can’t get my self to drink a good amount of water. I honestly feel very regretful today. When does it get better?
-
By the third week you will feel some relief. Don't push yourself too much with quantity that first week. I just made sure to keep sipping and walking which helped me feel better.

Overall the surgery was a success however I feel like Im at a weight hick up dr says im doing everything right but I was still expecting to be dropping more weight. And drinking is a little bit of a challenge but im pushing through. I know everything takes time and Im still healing. Anyone having these issues too?

what you’re going through is absolutely normal I cannot stress enough to stay hydrated. It is incredibly important to stay hydrated! The weight loss is going to come off stay hydrated get the protein and stay with the diet that the doctor recommends do not try to skip the steps! just remember you’re in this for the long haul! I am currently six months out from my surgery and I am extremely happy with it just remember you’re doing this for your health and well-being… And you’re not alone… If you have an air bubble that you feel in your chest that is normal… A lot of us have been through it just stay hydrated listen to your doctor follow the steps and be proud of yourself.-holly 6mo post op gastric bypass you got this!

Congrats on the weight loss thus far. I’m 3 weeks post op and started at around your weight (492). When did you start eating “normally” again? If you have.
-
Down 9.6lbs a week out from surgery! That's INSANE. I'll take the crazy losses while I can get them lol
-
I seem to have hit another stall already--I keep waiting for my loss to hit 50 pounds but it just isn't getting there. I have lost a bit of the grip on what I'm eating and whether I'm getting enough protein and so on--a lot of changes lately. I moved about a week ago and then lost my niece (age 43) to a heroin overdose. So, kind of traumatic times. I don't think I'm going to be able to get to the funeral. Like so many things, nothing I can do about that.
Still, shopped yesterday and have some protein shakes, much as I dislike them, to help me get back in control. Made a birthday cake for the friend with whom I'm staying, but that's gone now and I've bought some sugar-free fudgesicles for my "sweet."
I'm a bit frustrated by the fact that I don't really notice a change in my body and I'm still wearing all the same clothes. How much do I have to lose before the clothes are too big? Sheesh. And then I have to stop a moment and realize it's only been six weeks since the surgery--this is a long journey, not a sprint.
So, onward.

I think we all go through these down moments after surgery and especially during a stall. Just don't let this lead to self sabotage, find the positive side in everything you have accomplished thus far and believe in yourself. Imagine yourself as you want to be 6 months to a year from now. Keep that image in your mind and push out the negative thoughts. Don't let past habits back in. Yesterday's mistakes are already in the past and today is a new day.
You can do this!!!
I'm Praying for you today.
-
Thank you--I'm working to get back on track. It's been a tough period with the move and my niece's death. Tonight I made soup, mostly veggies and turkey kielbasa, very good. I'm not quite used to being able to eat just about anything again . . . able to--I know it's not necessarily a good idea just because I can.

Hello,
I am having the SIPS surgery next week and I am looking for some advice, suggestions, kind words, friends.
I had the Gastric Sleeve in 2013 and lost about 140 pounds. Since then I have put some back on, but still need help to get rid of some more weight.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I am two weeks out from being sleeved and boy has this been an adventure! I'm just starting on the pureed stage and am having a difficult time. My tummy doesn't want food in it! The liquid stages were easy but I just don't want any food. Please tell me someone else has been through this and that it got better. I'm ready to be hooked up to a feeding tube forever😔
-
I have been on this stall for just at a week today.... Trying to keep positive but I think I am going threw a little buyers remorse WTH did I do to my body?? I mean I am focusing on trying to keep positive some days are deff harder then others.... Today is hard
-
Very excited this morning. Good things have been coming my way all week. I finally got over my stall (which ended up being dehydration) and have entered "onederland". I have gone from a 40J to a 36H (start weight at 256). And to wrap it up even more nicely, my husband had an very successful surgery for his battle with cancer this Friday. Very excited and happy and a million other things.

I am almost two months out and starting to stall... Is that normal??
-
Yep. You'll have to get used to it if you weigh yourself all the time. This is why I don't. But don't worry, even if the scale doesn't show a loss, I can bet your inches are going down. So it's really not a stall in my opinion. Just follow orders and youll be fine. Remember that it takes about 6 months for total healing, so I hear. There will be ups and downs, just take them like a champ. 😁
-
Yes, I have found that I often go a bit of time with out losing pounds on the scale, but then all of a sudden I drop several pounds in one or two days. Even when I'm not seeing the numbers move, I do notice that my clothes are still fitting differently so I'm still getting smaller.
My nutritionist said most people lose that way, if you were to graph it, it would look like descending stairs rather than a diagonal line.

@Apple1 You are my inspiration !!!! I'm 1-week post -op and I,m down 10 pounds and 17 lbs from pre-op for a total of 27 lbs.OMG . I will continue to visit your page for encouragement and positive example of perseverance. YOU ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
You are so sweet @Ydiva1 thank you so much for your kind words!
you are rocking your sleeve!! Just keep believing in yourself and you can do anything. When you hit a rough patch just keep doing what you know you need to do and you will conquer all obstacles.
I truly believe we have the power to change our destinies. Blessings to you!

Constipation horrible. 2 weeks out
i take any suggestions! 😫
-
-
Hi Sandy057, I also had bad constipation at two weeks. I'll echo Michelle'sgarden and suggest to drink more water and move around. Even now at almost 7 weeks out I have a bowel movement twice a week. This is probably our new normal now
It will get better once you start phasing in solid food (I assume you're still on liquid diet - I had the opposite effect during that phase!)

So here I am at one week post op and feeling great. Even the gas problems disappeared. Yesterday and today I got back into my 30 minute walk routine feels great. Tried on some clothes I wore to work end of June and they don't fit! Probably because of the 40 pounds I lost pre op. But either way best decision I've made in a long time.
-
Isn't it a great feeling? I just did my first overhaul of my closet and half of the stuff is being donated. The other stuff I had from when I was smaller and looks even better now! Great job and keep up the good work!

This week my recovery has finally turned a corner.. I'm finally able to "eat" and drink a bit more than a sip.. I am less tired since I'm able to get in some nutrition.. finally feeling really good about my sleeve.. The first 3 weeks were so hard, I lived with regret.

Tomorrow will be three weeks since my band removal. So far i've managed to maintain my weight and even went down a pound or two. So far so good.
This weekend is a big one.... I'm flying to Ga to meet Tim's family. I was supposed to go the weekend of the 24th... but the emergency band removal killed that. So we are going for Easter. i'm a bit nervous.... apparently his mom likes none of her daughter in laws and never liked any of Tim's gf's or his wife of 21 years.....
So ya'll pray for me... hehe
i'll update on Monday
have a Happy Easter Everyone

No Poop for 7 days. Is it normal?
I'm 1 week post op Gastric Plication and apart from 1 teeny tiny bowel movement on day 4... NOTHING. Is this normal? Anyone else found the same?

Your surgeon should advise you to use milk of magnesia.

I tried all sorts. MoM, benefibre, prune juice and on and on. The only thing that worked for me was ducolax. Still take it every now and again if I don't go for a few days.

One month out from surgery! Still stalled...(thought I wasn't - it was just a tease). Still, 15 pounds in one month is not bad, and the inches are definitely coming off. I may be able to get into a smaller size as my biggest clothes are just barely hanging onto me now.
-
Just stated my 2 week liquid diet today! surgery date 3/14/17! I'm so excited I am one more day closer to getting this band out!!
-
2.5 weeks out and I'm really coming to appreciate just how much activity revolves around eating/drinking. Whether it's dining out or just looking for a weekend activity. Only being able to eat a couple ounces and avoiding alcohol kills most of the fun venues for meeting up with friends.
-
I remember some of what it was like.... but it's been a while ..... The commercials still get to me... and posts on FB of all the food. Being from South Louisiana... our lives revolve around rich delicious food. I guess it's a sleeve thing with the alcohol? I have the band, so i was never told to avoid it.... just that it's won't take much to fell the effects.. So true, i'm a light weight now. But i still drink wine, i never drink mixed drinks with soda (coke, sprite) in it. I am a wine-o now
-
-
I wonder why no alcohol? Maybe because you stomach was cut.... Mine was not. So either i was not told to avoid.... are i had selective hearing and choose not to hear that... hehe. I don't eat much, so when i go to dinner, i always order a cocktail or two or three... depends on what and how much sex i what that night... heheheh
