  2. GG,

Just wanted to let you know i went for my seminar and my psych consulation and now awaiting results. Things are moving so fast. How are things with you ?

  3. Wow. It went pretty fast then. I was hoping to have it done by Christmas. But, If not, I will be happy anyway. I just want to get it done ASAP. If you don't mind me asking.... How much do you have to lose?

  4. lol No biggie at all.. I do appreciate all of the well wishes :)) This is the best place for support I've EVER been too!! I'm so glad to see you are healing so fast, Hopefully I will do the same.

  5. Sorry I'm so late responding - still trying to figure out the whole private message thing...lol! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm 10 days out and except for exhaustion I can't hardly tell I've had surgery! Out of my 6 incisions all but one have already faded to pale pink lines - but I've always been a fast healer. The one joy is that I no longer have to sip - I can just drink normally that's how fast the swelling went down. Hopefully the weight goes down as well....LOL. Thanks for the good wishes!

  6. Hello Ky.hen, I am so glad that you are doing so well. I hope you will be posting some new picture of yourself, if you haven't yet. I posted some pictures in a new album "Night before Pre-op Diet pictures". It is so hard to believe that it is almost time to have surgery. Time is going so fast now that I have so many things to do. I put off so many things until I knew for sure that I was approved. Thank you for your support and comments.

  7. Hello, I'm sorry if this reply is late, my PC usage has been intermittent. I am OK. This surgery has had a profound impact on my psychological state, since there has been a profound change made in my physical body. I am struggling with this change on all levels and not with ease in many respects. I have hope that with the support of concerned people, and professional help, I will adapt and much of the discomfort I am encountering will pass. Thank you for your concern. Feel free to send me a Private Message (PM) anytime.

  8. I was able to start solid food at 6 weeks. I have been doing really well with it and can each pretty much anything, if I eat small bites and don't eat too fast. I still start my morning with a protein drink too. Liquids seem to go down much easier than food in the morning. Today, I tried a protein hot chocolate mix with my morning coffee. 15 grams of protein in my coffee. Gotta love it. I also ordered the protein latte, can't wait to try it. I just finished working out, I'm off today and will drink my Nectar Protein drink in a bit. I have been bad the last couple weeks with my exercise. I have been working long hours on a project for work - just not enough hours in the day. Luckily, project ended yesterday - back to my normal routine. Good to hear from you. I enjoy reading your posts and following your progress mirror my own. Take care ad have an great weekend. Linda

  9. Thank you Nikski for your message you left me. . it was nice to hear from you. I haved been sleeved yet, but am waiting. . . I hear so many positives from everyone, I can't wait! i'm having this done locally close to home, so hopefully my recovery will go fast too. . . good luck and best wishes to you hon

  10. HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Glad you wrote. I am overall doing good. I am down 20.6 in two weeks YEA. I have had a little trouble but nothing bad, just sometime I forget that I cant eat fast or alot and get overfull. I have been able to swallow normally since about the thrid day home. I have been fuzzy in the head since I got home and have not been working (sales) However I am hoping that I will this week. I am back taking my protien which I think was the major issue, since I feel good today! What problems are you having? I really have not had any other than listlisness, and not being able to sleep when I frist got home, now things seem to be settleing down. Keep us informed. Susan is doing much better, thank god she was beginning to worry me but now she is getting in some protien with out tossing it. Talk soon.

  11. Hi Beckie, I just got home today..everything went great..I think my surgery was 1 hr 18 min..I used very little pain meds and I loved Dr Aceves and Dr Campos..my stomach keeps growling..I sure would like to eat or so I think!! I am more sore than anything and believe me these first 10 days can't go by fast enough..I would like to get to the mushy stage..loved the Lucerna Hotel..my lastbig meal was steak and lobster..what a way to go...all in all everything went great but I sure am looking forward to about 18 days from now!! Talk to you soon..give me an update on how your doing and what ya been eating...Debbie

  12. Surgery 6 weeks ago today! It's still so surreal...the whole taking out 85% of my stomach thing... It still hasn't hit me that this is a life change and I will never go back to eating like how I did before. But when will it start becoming comfortable to eat? I still feel like whenever I eat anything I have to get up the nerve to do it because of the discomfort I feel as its going down. Am I possibly eating too fast still?

  13. So glad to hear you are feeling better those first few days of yours sounded brutal. I still have some tenderness and soreness I think that is normal. My biggest issue now is eating too fast and too much my head hasn't quite gotten the memo. I started walking close to two miles on Friday.

    Nancy

  14. Nope... not really. I mean a little bit if I drink to fast or to much, but not enough to bother me and definitely not enough to use Gas- X strips. This is day five and as Tony the tiger would say " I feel GRRRRREAT" I know that was corny. LOL.

Baby girl I know your time is coming and you are nervous. Just make sure you have all of your affairs in order. I know you believe in God. Just pray to him to make you strong cuz you know this is the best thing for yourself and your family. The day of my surgery I was sooooo calm. I was surprised, but then I realized it was because I had made peace with myself and God. I put it all in his hands.

Thanks for checking on me. Keep me updated with your progress and I'll keep you updated. TTYL.

I just got back from my trip to the Surgeon in West Virginia, and was wondering how you were doing? I hope everything is going ok, and you are doing well after your surgery. I got my surgery date it is December 2, it seems like a very long time, but I'm sure it will go by fast. Let me know how you are doing when you get a chance.

  16. Thanks I'm still going to have it I just have to go through a VA hospital. The only thing I have to do that this VA requires, and my surgeon did not was to lose 10 pounds on a supervised diet like weight watchers. So I'm joining next week, and was thinking about doing a preop diet so I can lose my ten pounds quickly. lol THanks for the encouragement, and I have to keep my faith otherwise I would not of made it this far. I wish I could just self pay but being a single mother that lives from pay day to pay day it is out of the question. It will happen I just don't know when, and it is not going to be fast enough for me.

  17. Hey Missy Carolyn,

Thanks for the nice comments. I look baggie, too, and not happy about that, but comes with the territory of major fast weight loss. I've also had a piriformis muscle issue on the left glute that's bugging the sh*t out of me, painful. Doc says due to the weight loss. I'll go back to Mexico to get rid of all the hanging skin - Dr. Bell0 - already got the quote. Just waiting for my DH's job situation to settle before I set a date. I don't get in nearly the protein I should be; my calorie count is still very low, though, and I have 8 pounds to goal. I drink my protein drinks maybe 2X a week.

  18. I'm doing ok, incision still hurts on left, but I can finally tell that it is getting better. I can get in/out of bed without it hurting, cough, sneeze without pain. I get full fast, but seem to get hungry again in 2-3 hrs. Not sure if I should eat or not but I find that I nibble. I just read some nutritional info and it mentioned that the more solid the food the longer you will feel full, so maybe I need to eat more like tuna and not soup. I'll try that and let you know. I don't have a problem with anything so far. Makes me a little worried.

  19. Hi Shutterbug I know its just seems to being going so fast the days and actually the weight is going pretty good to. Glad to hear you are doing good. I've been doing pretty good had a stall for a couple weeks but I think its moving now. I still can't eat very much and still have probolems with keeping it down some days but other than that no to bad. good luck and keep up the good work.

  20. Hello,

I came across a response you put into the low bmi forum. I'm considering VSG with a low bmi of 31. I was just wondering what your experience has been like? Where did you have the procedure? Did you have any complications being such a low bmi? How fast did the weight come off? Do you have a hard time with not being able to eat?

Any insight you could provide would be SOOO appreciated.

  21. Hope you are fairing well Tiff. Prayers and positivity sent your way. =) Hope you heal lightening fast!

  22. hi barbann, do you feel like crap too? the pain is amazing huh? I don't like it. . . today was a "I regret this surgery" day, but i kept going. . . drinking stuff is my challenge. . . i can' t tolerate it very well. . . tonight is better, boy you really can't drink fast with this thingy can you? And it does feel different. . . wow amazing. . . anyhow chat more later as i'm feeling rather "run down" my birthday is March 24, 62. . . .

  23. I can't figure it out either. For me they also responded very fast. Within one week I had my denial letter. Trying to get a clear explanation is like trying to break into a bank. UHC has themselves well protected. I cannot speak to anyone who can just review and discuss my coverage with me directly. Instead the appeal process is very secretive and long. It will take at least a month. If that appeal comes back with the denial I'm gonna go crazy. I know this must be a mistake. Your approval also proves that. But I cannot talk to anyone who is a decision maker at UHC. Ugh.

I will be interested in how things proceed for you. I'm sure you will do great!

  24. My recovery was quite easy. I have a two year old and a 4 month old. My mom was here to help but it seemed to go by fast. I was walking for exercise after I go home. I don't work. If I did and it was an office job I could have went back to work the next day. You will be very pleased with Dr Zapata and the hospital. Monterrey is more like a European city than what you would think a mexican city is. I had a really good experience. The nurses where great and checked on me all the time. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

  25. You know, I intended to lose weight from the sleeve by eating less, not by eating so fast that I can't keep my food down. I'm gonna have to start eating everything with silverware to help me pace myself. This is my first time tossing my cookies since the surgery and it's no fun at all!
