How Soon Is Too Soon for Reset?
KarmaNina replied to nolo56788's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had a weight loss stall, it lasted about 10 days. The nutritionist has me eating 5 “meals” a day. 1/4 to 1/3 cup. Must contain at least 15 grams protein minimum per meal. If I am not eating meat, I add Genepro protein powder to my meal. I could not survive only eating 3 times a day. This plan is working fine for me. I am just at the 3 month mark. -
Anyone for October 2020?

Hi I’m so scared having surgery on 21/10/20 any advice -
I ordered a size 10 Levi 505 pair of jeans. When I took them out of the package and held them up I thought "there is no way these will fit, they are going to be to small" but to my surprise they not only fit but they were a touch big in the waist. What a happy surprise.

Anyone for August 2020
debsgallery replied to MotivatedMomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! I had sx on 8/19/20 and have gone from 241 the day of surgery to 212 today. Tired of eating the same things every day but happy to see the weight loss. I went from a 3xl top to an xl and a 4xl bottom to a 2xl. I also have the straining or not at all problem but found out that more water and two prunes a day are helping. Hope you get help too. -

Anyone go into surgery alone?
BriarRose replied to samiaam25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery 10 years ago. My daughter dropped me off. She was 18 years old and in college. The Doctor's office had someone there "for me" pre op, and she drove me nuts. I asked her to step outside of the room and asked the nurse to make her leave. OR I would. She wouldn't shut up. The nurses laughed and agreed. I told the surgeon that if she showed up afterwards I could not be held responsible for my actions. I slept alot after surgery and walked when I could. My 80 year old father picked me up two days later. We stayed in a local hotel since I was 2 hours from home and the surgeon wants me local for one more day. I heated up pre made clear broth in hotel microwave. Dad went out to the local coffee shop for meals. I walked around the hotel. Dad drove me home. I would have been fine if there had been Uber then !!! -
Psych Test -did u have to take one?
BrendiLuWho replied to danahall5885's topic in Insurance & Financing
Yep, I had to do the psych eval also. A gazillion ridiculous questions and then an hour long appt with the psychologist. But all in all it was fine. They said I was a good candidate for surgery with realistic expectations. So I guess I passed. I'm scheduled for surgery on 10/27/20 and I just got notification that my health insurance has approved it! I'm not a fan of "always" and "never" questions either. There are very few things in this world that are absolutes. -

When I had VSG, maybe 5-10 mins for liquids, 15-30 solids With my RNY, immediately for liquids, 5-10 mins solids -
If you are not 100% sure you want surgery, perhaps you should back out. Success is up to you. Follow your plan for the rest of your life and you're golden. Sounds easy but we all know better. People that need surgery again in 5, 10, 20 years returned to old habits. Make sure you are doing the right thing for you. I'm 17+ years post-op and I don't need another surgery. Good luck, Tek

How Soon Is Too Soon for Reset?
nolo56788 replied to nolo56788's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gonna answer rapid fire haha: I don’t count calories but I stick to that 1/2 cup serving size for whatever I eat (and I cook all my food 9.5/10) I limit carbs (only veggie substitutes). I do about 2-3 meals a day with no snacks in between. I would say it’s been about a month since I’ve seen weight loss because I haven’t breached the 270s since my month post. Ive seen the resets where you mimic the post-op stages in a week but haven’t heard of the one of protein shakes. So any info on that would be great! Thank you for responding too! -
Anyone for October 2020?
Onmyway301 replied to barbieater's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's awesome!! Good luck!! I had my surgery on 10/1 and everything went well. I'm healing fast and today I move on to the Puree Diet. I refuse to blend everything Lol, so my dietician and I came up with great alternatives for me. I am totally embracing my new journey. Good luck again to you and all Sleevers. -
I want to back out I’m so scared of having my SVG surgery in 2 days. My doctor is going to be upset at me. I have Gerd now and I’m afraid to have it later. I don’t want to go through another surgery afterwards. If I were to do the sleeve would I need another surgery 10 to 20 years down the line?

I had my surgery 8/19 and I was 315. The lowest I've gotten 281 (saw it one time so it counts haha) and I've been hovering in the low 280s ever since. My nutritionist allowed me to go to a regular diet (albeit smaller servings) at my one-month check-in. I'm just starting to feel like maybe they moved me too fast and I stretched my stomach perhaps. Would any of you suggest a reset? I'm feeling kind of lost and starting to feel like I wasted money,

Today marks 3 weeks post op Gastric Bypass for me, I’m currently down 50 lbs from my starting weight and 20 lbs from surgery weight. I was cleared for food 10 days out of surgery but haven’t seemed to be able to keep anything down and that’s kept me from eating. Given I haven’t been the best with protein intake but all I can seem to do is sleep all day because my body simply doesn’t have the energy to be up. If anyone has any suggestions that would help I’d greatly appreciate it.

My weight tends to normally fluctuate +/- 5-10 lbs. I usually have to regiment myself by eating boring foods (protein 🤣) if I'm up and party foods if I'm down. One thing I have not done/will not do is try to out exercise my fun food phase, I just cut down on them since I know they are the culprit. But also lots of people have gained from stress, and this time has been very stressful. Good Luck ♥️

I normally gain during November and December and then take the next few months losing the weight. This year I had to work from home and by the middle of May had gained 7 lbs from the holidays and then an additional 10 lbs from March to the Middle of May. As of today I have lost the 17 lbs. Part of my insurance program is they have an app where I weigh in every day and give you suggestions on losing weight. You also have to take picture of your meals and submit on the app. As a result of having someone to be accountable to has kept me somewhat in line. The main weight gaining opportunity is unhealthy snacking. So this been curtailed as well.
