    NSV

Bending down in the shower to shave my legs without the big belly in the way and being able to complete the job without coming up every few seconds.
  2. I noticed my watch was a little looser. woohoo it was slipping around a bit! hey gotta take NSVs where you can get them.
  3. Congrats on your NSVS! Those feel just as good as seeing the scale move down. So happy for you!
  4. Congrats! I TOTALLY understand this NSV and you're not a dork for being excited about this. I am watching for mine... any ... day.... now...! Seriously, I've never ever had knuckles and I'm 41 years old! I'm quite small boned and I have "baby hands" When I make a fist they look like balloons!
  5. Hiiii My surgery was March 19 i am doing much better everyday. Haven't gone back to work yet Dying of boredom and happy i have no appetite or else i'd be in the fridge every 5 minutes. I am 20 lbs down and I want to weight myself everyday but i am trying to just do it every Tuesday since my surgery date was on a Tuesday. I am on Puree and it is frustrating and yucky so i'm sticking to soups. I honestly thought it would be a breeze but its more of a challenge. I can not wait to start exercising. I made a list of goals and NSV and rewards to help make time pass. Overall I'm just trying to be patient.
  6. Absolutely! Celebrate your NSV's wherever you find them. Hooray for your knuckles!

NSV - With Pics (I hope)

    Great picture! Great NSV!!
  8. I am trying to find all the NSV I can find. I did a little blog about the ones I have seen so far. And I looked back over my blogs and I realized I blogged about the day we went to the Third Day Concert (almost a year ago) and the shirt I wanted to wear didn't fit. Fast forward to today and I am wearing that shirt..the one that didn't fit!!! Hopefully the picture will attach. The pic on the left was last year and it's a picture of the Concert picture...but you get the idea. The one on the right is today. Not a before and after, but definitely a before and during!! I still have a ways to go but I can definitely see the progress!!

    First Few NSV

I think this is as good a place as any to start writing down the NSV as I notice them. I am only 3 weeks out and I have already noticed a few. 1. I flew to my sisters wedding in CO and I was perfectly comfortable in the plane seat. I have never really needed a seat belt extender but I have definitely been very uncomfortable in the seat with the seatbelt tight around me. This time I had some play in the seat belt and could comfortably sit for the whole trip not feeling like I was packed into the seat. 2. At my sisters wedding I danced! My uncle told me it was the first time he had seen me letting go and having fun in the 20 years he's known me. Now whether that's from the weight loss or my new hubby of 2 years, who knows? Doesn't really matter...what matters is I danced!! 3. Apparently I have totally stopped snoring! I meantioned to my husband that I will probably stop snoring and he said, "Oh you haven't snored the past few nights." I guess he didn't realize he was supposed to alert me to this stuff...LOL 4. On Thursday I went to my doctor appt and while we were sitting there waiting I looked down and realized I had sat down and crossed my legs....Like REALLY crossed my legs like a lady!! And I didn't even realize it! That's all I've noticed so far, but I'm really trying to pay attention since I think some of the NSV just slip past unnoticed. But I know when I hit those stall weeks that I will need to be able to look back and see all the things that have nothing to do with the scale.

    1st goal

No you're on the right track! I need to make a formal goal list. I have goals in my mind both weight and NSV's like getting in my protein everyday or being confident in a bathing suit, but need to write them down! Congrats on hitting your first goal. The .4 will be off in the next day or two! lol!

    NSV!

Huge NSV today!! I got a new job at one of my favorite jewelry stores (yay!!) and the manager said my work wardrobe was too boring. I needed more personality (moi?? Gasp!!). Excuse to go SHOPPING! I usually hate shopping. There are no plus size stores in my town and I usually have to go 45 minutes away to find stylish clothes. I decided to try my luck in the plus size section at target to see if I could find anything that didn't resemble a sack. EVERYTHING THERE WAS TOO BIG ON ME! I ventured to the regular sizes and tried on some really cute stuff in XXL and it all fit!!!!!!! I even got some stuff in XL!! It was the greatest feeling ever! I was in tears! I'm so excited to start dressing for work now. I haven't been able to do this.... Ever! I'm loving my sleeve. I just wanted to share this NSV with everyone
  15. Nanaspez, congratulations on your wonderful weight loss--and on getting off 27 pills! Talk about an NSV!!!

    Unexpected Medical Changes

wannalise i am so very sorry and confused at the same time for what you are dealing with i totally understand what you are dealing with, and i hope you and your neurologist get this figured out/get control, very, very soon we are "sisters" - when i turned 16, (43 years ago) i became aware of my epilepsy i have been "controlled" all these years - with a couple of exceptions due to medicine changes my NSV - after i had lost about 50 lbs - we realized that due to my extreme weight loss, i now needed LESS medicine (keppra & lametcal) unfortunately we found this out the hard way - when i had an "unexpected" side effect I became very "dilusional" after knee replacement surgery 3 months PO WLS had to stay in hospital 3 extra days til they could figure out and deal with the prob - getting the right dosage for me I now take 1/2 the dosage that i took before WLS - this is huge for me i hope you and your neurologist get this figured out very soon!!!!! losing 160 lbs - you have done amazing i wish the best for you take care my friend
  17. Amanda since you didn't say differently, i'm "assuming" all went well will surgery, and recovery is going well 2 weeks PO - thats great tight jeans, now fitting perfectly so quickly - terrific there is a "magnet" in my scale, that keeps drawing me to "it" staying away from the scale - patient in finding out what your new weight will be??? IMO thats an NSV in itself!!!! keep up the terrific job congrats
  18. Congrats on your 1st NSV. Keep pimpin that sleeve!
  19. A new blog update - NSV #2 - You Best Step Off, B-hatch!

  20. DOS: 10/25/12 HW: 489lbs SW: 389lbs CW: 270lbs This has been one wild ride! If anyone had told me so much could change in FIVE months, I never would have believed them. My only complication was a stricture that I had repaired at about 3 mos and they also diagnosed me with Celiac's Disease, so no gluten for me! I'm off my fibromyalgia medicine and my CPAP machine, which leaves me taking only my Topamax and my vitamins/supplements. I hate shopping, but as most of us have figured out, it's a necessary evil. My biggest NSVs have been wearing actual blue jeans and sitting in restaurant booths again! I have loved reading everyone's updates. I look forward to reading more!

I just saw a Poise commercial and I realized that it's been 2 weeks since my surgery and since Spring has come to the Pacific North West my allergies are in full swing AND I am no longer wetting myself when I sneeze. Hehehe, sorry if it's TMI for some.

    NSV

Well here I am sat in a hotel in Mexico wearing shorts and walking around without a care in the world. This is a big NSVs for me as I have not worn shorts in public before. I'm on holiday with my husband and we have travelled from the UK. I had my sleeve on 3rd April 2012 and I am down 80lb, my goal is 100lb. It is slow but steady and I am a great believer that this is indeed a journey along a long road and not a quick race around a track. Just wanted to share my happiness.
  25. Who here has enjoyed the NSV of closet-shopping? I tried on some coats and suits that I had purchased on clearance a while back as "mini-goal" clothes and they fit great! They all still had the tags on them. They were great deals (like an Anne Klein suit coat and a pretty winter coat that makes me glad we still have snow here, actually). When I bought them, it seemed like just a dream that I might be able to wear them someday. I lost 20 lbs during a 6-month pre-op period and 20 lbs (as of today) since my VSG in early Feb. I am thinking for a couple of the better pieces, when I lose more I might actually get them tailored so I can wear a while longer. Has anyone else done this? What fun outfits have you found lately in your own closet?
