I am 5 weeks out and a slooow loser. I've lost almost 20 lbs. On top of that, i've gained 3 lbs after going in from being dehydrated and now being properly hydrated. I was sad, but this morning I took a double take in the morning when I saw signs that my hourglass figure is coming back. I've decided I am not going to weight myself until this pair of xxl pants from Old Navy fit me. They go up, but don't close like by 3 inches. Is a small victory, and wanted to share it. Ready to take on the weekend!!!

This is my first time posting, however I have been following since right before my surgery. I had a NSV that brought me to tears this 4th of July weekend and thought I would share. To some it may sound silly. I have 3 children 14, 4 and 2. I have been over weight all my life. When my 14 yr old was younger I was never able to take her on rides at carnvials or things like that as I was to big. In fact one time I tried but, had to get off because the lap thing wouldn't go down. Thankfully, she was to young to understand or remember. I of course was embarrassed beyond belief and remember it well. This weekend we took our kids to the 4th of July carnival and I was able to take my youngest on rides. I was able to sitwith them on the ride and I was able to get in a Trauma one helicopter without being told I was too big. I still have a ways to go but finally feel like a good mom to all my kids. Thanks for letting me share!

Hi LapBand Losers (pun intented:wink_smile:) Been awhile, sorry and I've missed reading all the double V posts (and I agree our posts are the best and most entertaining---yes I'm biased) Wanted to share with you my NSV, leaving for Key West on Sunday for work--yea I know life's tough:thumbup:. Anyway back to my NSV...guess where I shopped for all my clothes??? NY and Co!!!!! Biggest size there is an 18 and I'm sure that you've all had that feeling where your looking at the pants before trying them on and kinda size up wether it will fit you or not, praying that it will but knowing that it won't...well guess what, not only did they fit but they were too big!!! Couldn't believe it, I shopped in a normal clothing store and didn't even have to get the biggest size:w00t:!!! I have a box in my room that I'm filling with my "too big" clothes and when it's full it's going to Wings For Success, which provides clothes for women who are getting back into the workplace after abuse. My loss is their gain (again, pun intended lol)

Thank you! It's hard to see much change day to day but that NSV was huge yesterday! I found myself more engaged and friendly in class because I wasn't worrying if everyone was staring at the fat girl in class [emoji16] so excited to continue to watch my body change Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

February bypass buddies?
istytehcrawk replied to RunningLibrarian's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
HW 427.4 (Jan. 2) SW: 413 (Feb. 15) Last week: 347.4 Today: 346.2 So down 1.2 since last week, 66.8 since surgery and 81.2 since my high weight in January! Had a great NSV this week - moved my steering wheel down so that it's no longer in the highest possible position, because I had a good four-inch gap between it and my stomach! Have definitely noticed the seatbelt not having to extend as much, too. -

I have had so many NSVs in the last 3 months, but my favorite so far happened last weekend. I was working around the house and I noticed my shadow on the driveway and it had a visible waist! It has been years since my shadow was anything but a big blob with a head and legs. I was so excited. Other NSVs I have had include: Went down from 4X sweats to a 1X I can wear heels all day at work and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day I went shopping at the mall with my daughter for 3 hours and was not exhausted when we were done I no longer crave sugary rich desserts or high fat foods. Instead I crave cucumbers or turkey burgers. I can now see the cleft in my chin, and I only have 1 chin to look at:) I am no longer morbidly obese The seat belt in my van will fit around me and still have extra length to spare.

What is your latest NSV (non scale victories) ? I will start.... I have two that are huge to me. I am 4 weeks out today 1) I can wear my wedding rings again! Yeahhhh and my husband is really happy about it. 2) I noticed I was crossing my legs in church this morning without any effort. I can not remember the last time I could do that. :)

I was just thinking the same thing, about making my own NSV goals. Or whittling them down to a small list, anyway. 1. The ability to sit on the floor/ground, so that I can play with and train my dog 2. Walking more and eventually being able to jog and do 5ks 3. Kayaking 4. Swimming. My late grandfather swam competitively until he was in his 80s, so I'd love to get lessons at his swim club. 5. Wearing a bathing suit that's not a swim dress, and not feeling self-conscious about how I look 6. Shopping for non-plus size clothes 7. Reducing/eliminating meds & sleep apnea. Would love to not have to use a CPAP

I've given up the straw at work! Huge NSV for me as I work in a steammmmmy kitchen & we always have drinks nearby. I switched to a coffee lid instead of lid/straw. At home it's not an issue, but restaurants....well, I guess I won't be eating out much post-op anyway. 347*294/285/135 (*347HW/294SSW)

Okay, I'm going to tell a great NSV that relates to this thread and one that I thought I would never share in a forum such as this. Here goes, many of you have been discussing the Dog style position, which by the way is my favorite. The ultimate though is Dog Style with me standing and at the side of the bed with DW on the bed. To pull this off you need to be in relativley good shape so if you can go for a while before the legs give out you are doing well. Finally it is quite a work out especially if you consider vines stat of 1 inch for evey 35 pounds. Eventually after significant weight loss it will also become a nice walk (3 steps forward 3 steps back) The other day because of the height of the bed at the hotel we were ate I was able to do it all on my tip toes. Try that for a significant period of time. Not a bad NSV at all

Fiddleman replied to leeann71's topic in Fitness & Exercise
That is friggin awesome Anne. Breaking through any major boundary is such an NSV. -
So I was 451 when I first started my pre-op diet and I went to wal-mart to buy a scale and the maximum weight they went up to was 445lbs so I bought it and every so often I'd weigh myself at home and it said "ol" for over load or oh lord which ever you prefer (lol). But today I weighed myself and it said 442.7.....I'm soooo excited I measured myself twice just to be sure it was right and it Steal read the same thing.....this made my day let's celebrate with a fat free, sugar free, gluten free, popsicle!!
