    Anyone for September 2020?

I’m in solid right now thank you for answering me I was losing but because I’m in the moving process like moving so they take my balance for me to weight my self so I don’t know if I lost weight. Right now I can’t eat like six nuggets taking the breading out of the nuggets  and a cheeseburger the party of the happy meal cheeseburger just a party and the cheese and  feel like not fill me up but if I eat chicken and I fill me up but I’m tired of chicken and I can eat like shrimp like eight or nine or 10 maybe  the little ones or medium ones and I feel like at the beginning give me pain but now I don’t know if I stretch my sleeve that now I can eat more and feel more hungry and I’m worry about it.

    Anyone for October 2020?

Mine is on Wednesday 10/21. Pre-op diet has made me feel sick most of the time & made gerd feelings worse. I have fallen off of it a little a few times but I’ve lost almost 20lbs in 12 days. I’m scared my liver won’t be shrunk enough. Also, Tuesday I have to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate. Hopefully that won’t make me puke. I’m extremely nervous and can’t sleep. Stomach aches all the time. I’m constantly hungry. Questioning a lot right now. I do love this group and I thank you for sharing your stories.
  5. The vacation was great and lovely and I stayed very active while still getting to sample foods I hadn't yet tried since surgery.  After getting back, I decided to stay off of social media for a little while, which also included these forums.  I had a lot of work in the office to catch up on and needed to focus on that.  Of course, the past week or so I have been struggling a lot mentally and emotionally.  I've desperately wanted comfort food and have done well not giving into that temptation.  This week doesn't feel like it'll go much better, but October always seems to be the worst month for me.

Had an anxiety dream last night involving a substantial weight gain in the past week.  Absolutely no basis in reality since I've stayed on plan.  I think it stems from Saturday when I ate some extra calories due to a 2 hour hike earlier in the day that burned 900 calories.  The extra calories brought my total intake up for 1025, as opposed to 700-800.  And my extra calories were from curry egg salad, so it was a protein packed choice.  And yet, my brain some how decided that would lead me to gain 10 pounds in one week and threw that are me while I slept.  Brains can be jerks.

Glad to hear you are doing ok. I noticed you missing from here and was a bit concerned as it sounded like you were dealing with some stuff.

Great work with staying on plan on vacation! Always a tougher than the routine at home.

      Welcome back!

    The Process

Let's see: 1. Like you, I had to attend a seminar 2. There was a list of tests I had to undergo - EKG, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, check X-ray, blood work and a bunch of other stuff 3. My insurance had a 6 month "weight loss counseling" requirement, so I had appointments once a month for that. 4. After the 6 months, I had an all day appointment where I met with the surgeon, a psychologist, a nutritionist, a nurse practitioner, insurance specialists and some other folks I can't remember 5. My surgeon's office requested pre-auth from my insurance and got it 6. We scheduled my surgery and it took place on 3/26/2019. That's about how it went, as I remember. Hope that helps!
  7. It's unusual, but it can happen. And it would still be very disappointing to have significant regain, even if it's only, say, half. I've heard that almost everyone has a small amount of regain (10-20 pounds) from their lowest, and I would be ok with that if I hit my goal, but not much more than that.

wow.... congrats. You are a success. We have the same status.. pretty much. I'm 5'2" and started my journey with LB 2009 @ 232lbs. Got and stayed at 143lbs for years.... band removal 2017. Was able to keep my weight with in 10-15 till i hit menopause at 50-51. I tried everything to get it off. Didn't have much luck. I had been looking for a dr. that would do a revision, but they all said i didn't weigh enough. The end of 2018 beginning of 2019 i packed on more weight. Got to 173lbs. I was at my wits end when i found my dr. here that agree to do the Sleeve at a 31Bmi. In May we took a pre-honeymoon to Italy and i felt terrible. (plus i had hurt my ankle 4 weeks earlier at crossfit falling off the ab machine). That same May i finally got my property settlement from my ex and i took 14k and invested it in ME..... So 8/28/19 i had the sleeve done and i went from 173 to 120 in 10 months. I sure hope i have the continued success you have. I can honestly say that i think if you do the liq diet for one week you will lose that 10lbs..... but you should go to your GYN and maybe look into hormone replacement. I'm on Estradiol tab. 1mg

    Contemplating ESG

I had the ESG 10/08 in Atlanta at Georgia Surgi care. I like the doctor and the staff. IDK if this matters but the facility is beautiful and clean which made me feel more comfortable. The total was $7000 ( I caught it on a special) usually its more expensive. I was 320 on 10/08 the day of surgery. Today I am 302 10/19 i have lost 18lbs in 11 days. I go in for my 2 week post op check up on 10/22. If this helps this is not my first weight loss procedure I had gastric sleeve 2 years ago and lost 118lbs and i had 57 pounds of regain which is what made me have ESG. ESG recovery: For me the first night was TERRIBLE when I got home I vomited over 20 times. Which I really don't know if it was the anesthesia or the procedure bc I experienced the exact same thing with VSG two years ago. I started soft foods diet on day 7 and I do have discomfort and general malaise. I feel very tired all the time... I stayed out of work for 1 week. I know this tired feeling is from lack of eating and not drinking enough water.. I force myself to drink protein & water..... I have started eating eggs and I can eat 1/2 of 1 egg. I also ate oatmeal which was maybe 2-3 spoons and that was all i could hold....

  11. No, I lost about 70 pounds before surgery, and 47 pounds since July 16 (I’m at 224 pounds now, but I’m only updating my profile in 10-pound increments).

    Any October Sleevers?

@Bwa, congrats! My surgery is scheduled for 10/27. I totally get where you're coming from! I've started doing what I call a "Brain Dump" in my journal. Sometimes the thoughts come so fast and furious its overwhelming. So I just write them as they come. Its not meant to be a coherent entry but a way to get what's swirling around in my head out and onto paper where I can see it. Sometimes I see things I need or want to do and other times its just ramblings of a mad woman. But it helps. At least it helps me. Maybe give it a go!

Yes, I have Kaiser and they require/suggest you loose 10%. I have actually lost 22%. My doctors are a little lenient on the 10%, they just absolutely do not want to see any weight gain.
  14. My experience was very much like yours. I had a lot of pain post-op and my surgeon had to up my pain meds to get it under control. I also had that intense pain immediately after drinking something. My pain was a little farther down than yours (lower chest instead of middle) but it hit about 1.5 seconds after taking a sip of anything. I had to take super tiny sips and even then it hurt for about 10 days. Overall, my first couple of weeks were just generally awful - I couldn't eat anything and didn't want to. I basically lived by sipping clear protein drinks (not shakes) all day for the first 10-12 days and then I started to rapidly get better. Sorry it's difficult right now, hopefully you will turn the corner soon.

11/10 for me! I am so ready to start this new chapter! I am nervous AF though. I have never had any tupe of surgery before
  16. I am pre-op. My surgery is 10/26. They gave mr the bariatric advantage high protein meal replacement powders. I'm to drink four a day. It's partially taste, partially consistency but I'm barely choking one a day down. I have a bunch of premier protein shakes of various flavors ready to go for after surgery. I like them. I just don't know how I'm going to get through the next 8 days. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November 2020 sleevers

I'm not familiar with the 10% weightless goal. My purpose was to not lose any weight before my insurance approved my surgery. I was too close to the cut off BMI of 35 . Any weight loss would result in a denial. Type 2 diabetes and fatty liver helped my cause. It's what's mainly driving my desire to get the sleeve. I weighted in at 213 just barely reaching the 35 BMI for my height! I wore my heaviest clothes and shoes! 😆 Were you required to lose 10%? Is that set by the surgeon or insurance? I know it's not the same for everyone. My nutritionist said that I will be required to do the 2 weeks of liquid, but allowed one low carb meal a day. Fortunately, since the insurance already approved the surgery I don't have to worry about losing. Yay!

You're one week before I am. I am very excited, not too nervous. I think I more nervous about the 14 day liquid diet that I am the surgery. 🤪 Were you able to make your 10% weight loss goal?

Maintaining your loss for 10 years is amazing. You are an inspiration. Menopause was when I put on about 15kg which I couldn’t shift & it’s what motivated me to have the surgery. I’d already put on a similar amount when peri menopausal & couldn’t shift that either. I put on both lots in very short periods of time. Damn hormones! I don’t know if it really did help but I didn’t put on any more weight once I started using HRT. Maybe worth a conversation with your doctor.
  20. I couldn't do the premiere protein shakes. The Fairlife protein shakes are awesome!!! U have to order them online but you can find then in convenience stores. Also Walmart has Protein2O waters that have 10-15 grams of protein that will help also. I just went thru all of this. My surgery was on the 14th
  21. I shoot for 600 per day. Sometimes I might go up to 800 if I eat out, etc. I'm 10 months out, and have reached goal, but would like to drop a couple more lbs so still in weight loss phase.

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

Well everyone I have to tell someone my Non scale victory’s I have had a few this week which helps because I have been stalling again for the past two weeks. So I came across a bag of black jeans that had been bought for my daughter about four years ago ( my daughter hates jeans crazy I know) well they had the tags on and everything. So they are a size 16 and I have never fit into a size 16 in my adult life. To be honest I believe the last time I saw a 16 it was probably when I was 11 years old. Well they fit and they are even a bit baggy and no way tight. I am ecstatic. I also just got taken off my blood pressure medication. Wow I have been on that for fifteen years. Last I was working a part time job today at a hair salon as an assistant and I literally was on my feet working for five hours before my back and hips started to hurt. I have spinal damage and I need two new hips I get cortisone injections in both but today I was feeling wonderful. I have not been at the salon since COVID-19 started. At that time I would have to pop a percent with in 2/12 hrs. Today no pain pill needed. I did take a few Tylenol. This was very exciting for me. Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the non scale victory’s .

Right there with you! Actually, I started my journey during menopause and it has been a struggle to lose weight. I cannot put it all on menopause, as I have not really stuck to the plan for all of the crazy sweet cravings, which I never had before the surgery. Inactive due to vertigo which started during the peri-menopause stage. Is there any suggestions to help boost the weight loss. I started by ordering the vitamins whereas well as the weight-loss enhancer pills. Wish me the best.
